The last two parts are accurate, the first is not.
Even before 1914, the 'socialist' parties of Germany - ranging from the moderates who forced the Kaiser out in '18 to the Spartacists who attempted (and succeeded in some places, looking at you Bavaria) to start their own soviet states - drew inspiration for policy from more than just Marx and Engels. You could compare this to the social gospel and progressive movements in the United States. There really is no point where all socialists in 20's Germany would point to Marx as their idol and complete abolishment of the class system struggle.
In fact, the majority of opinions among German workers parties pre-war, post-war and post-Versailles and Bavaria, across the spectrum, was the enactment of social policies like increased pensions, mandatory 12-8 hour work days, child labor laws, employment insurance and welfare. Which NSDAP's original platform initially espoused, with the caveat that the Jews were behind everything that went wrong and they should be punished for it.
TLDR; socialism in Germany wasn't all, or even mostly, about class struggle. It was primarily aimed at social reformation. Wasn't necessarily social democrat, of course, some were more center-right, some were catering to liberals but-
