Well, when I think of illusions, Shadowcraft Mages come to mind, as does Yakumo Kurama. If you aren't familiar, the first is a D&D PrC well known for, obviously shadow magic. They're famous for a small exploit enabling you to cast about any spell in the game super easy by using Silent Image to cast certain spells, especially Miracle, at >100% reality. Kurama is a character from Naruto who had this wacky bloodline that made her illusion super strong, she'd imagine fires andpaint lightning bolts to destroy buildings, and (possibly related to her bloodline) mutated into a demon from her repressed emotions.

Here, let me show you.
>Casting Branch Tier 1
Each illusions takes five minutes to cast and requires a small blood offering as a medium. A pentagram must be painted with your blood, then a lit candle must be placed in the middle. After five minutes, the illusion will be cast within eyesight of you.

The time needed to cast the spell is reduced to 1 minute
>Tier 3
You no longer need to draw a pentagram with your blood. The pentagram can now be drawn with chalk, pencil, or in any other way you wish.
