True but they have some pretty badass units such as The Golden Host of Mahrak, where the skeleton army walked through a pool of molten gold to guild their bones and not mention fighting in Nehekhara wouldn't be a sight to behold.

Plus, i would love to see the Screaming Skull Catapults launching flaming skulls that demoralize units
>>
Can anyone tell me what happened to snorri? From what I gather he died during end times or shortly before it, but i can't find any sauce as to how he ate it.
>>
So why is the existence of the skaven so hard for men of Empire to accept? They fight beastmen and mutated Vikings, and the Skaven invaded just as hard as Chaos did during the Black Plague.

And is it only the Empire that's in denial about the Skaven?

Humans are generally curious but ignorant, and VERY prone to riots and panic.

So the Church suppresses any thought that enemies are as strong as they are, while using the fact there are enemies all around to maintain loyalty.

Most humans are are aware of Skaven just shrug them off as rat Beastmen unless they see any complex machinery, where they spend the rest of their lives as that one crazy old vet.

Witch Hunters consider speaking of them as heresy because the ones in charge either don't believe Skaven can organize or don't want to see Skaven Cults like Chaos Cults.

Also, the Skaven are everywhere. Living under Imperial cities.

If the bumpkins found out they could die at any minute, they would panic like no tomorrow. Far more than knowing chaos exists in the far north.

Interestingly enough, Tomb Kings make (slightly) more sense than many other Undead Empires / Armies in fantasy settings. Deserts can be surprisingly good at preserving bodies, especially when they're treated beforehand, and likewise bronze is known to age far more gracefully than iron.
>>
>>47762303
The skaven also try to erase any information the humans gather on them, and have some massive enchantment to conceal their existence. That's why the empire can have an age and a hero defined by a skaven uprising and yet still shrug them off. Everyone tries to suppress knowledge on the ramen, but none more so than the skaven. Dwarfs don't say much about them because hey are too proud to admit their many losses, but are the only ones aside from the lizardmen who know the true extant of the skaven menace. Even the humans who do know about the skaven don't realize there is a massive, world spanning empire right under their feet

In OP. In the pastebin.
>>
>>47768503
Nah, because most of it is up to your imagination.
Early fluff said the warhammer world was something like 7 times as large as ours.

Writers have done everything from armies of the empire being many millions strong to only a few thousand defending a huge provincial capital city.

It's up to you whether you want to imagine 40k sized battles or tiny little real-life style skirmishes.

As such there's not really a set population for any one group.
There's only a sort of understanding that one side is probably more powerful.
>>
So I'm running a Storm era game, and I need to know what all was going on with each faction as the war ended. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Wood Elves: dealing with leftover war herds shitting around

Bretonnia: Just finished an errant war in the north. Mallobaude is preparing for insurrection.

Dwarfs: heavy losses in the Storm, pivoting back to fighting greenskins.

Greenskins: mostly following Grimgor, who has a tusk to pick with the Chaos Dwarfs

Beastmen : fractured, fighting one another, still causing plenty of problems

Empire: militarily exhausted. North is devastated. Ostland and Hochland face depredations by their neighbors. The Sigmarite church is split, with the deposed theoginist squatting in Marienburg. Valten's death still a secret.

Skaven: fighting each other like idiots after fucking up Tilea.

Tomb Kangs: Settra president now? What else?

Vampire Cunts: ?

Asur: Fighting off another Malekith invasion

Druchii: On the verge of civil war with Morathi going full Slaanesh.

Lizards: repelled a druchii invasion

Kislev: devastated, but the tsarina lives

Chaos: BTFO. Fighting among themselves. Archaon hiding and crying.

Mannfred's saved the collective asses of the Empire by fucking up Archaon at Middenheim, now camping in Sylvania plotting
>>
Who's more of a bitch ass nigga; Archaon or Mannfred?

There's just something about these recurring "big bads" that makes them into Skeletor level losers.

I'm glad TW brought back some cool retro characters like Azhag and Kemmler, and gave Chaos a Dragon Ogre lord.

Though Grimgor isn't actually bad, either. I just hate him because he stole the name I came up with from the Ork name generator in Gorkamorka.
>>
>>47770510
Archaon is a whiny Columbine shooter with a daddy complex, Mannfred is just a moron with a daddy complex.
>>
>>47770447
The only TK involved in Storm was a Chaos worshiper.

The rest are still status quo. Nagash, Settra, Khalida, Apophas, Ramhotep, Nekaph, Amanhotep, and so on.
>>
>>47770766
Why are GWs leaders/commanders so 1 dimensional and immature?

I've never met someone in an actual position of power didn't at least carry an aura of "I know what I'm doing and have my reasons".
>>
>>47770970
Because modern GW writing a shit. Much like modern capeshit, writers can't seperate what they can relate to from what a character should be written like.

Example: Writer has a bad divorce, wishes he never tried to have kids, has a midlife crisis. Result? Worst comic ever written as Spider-man sells his marriage to Marvel Tzeentch, including the soul of his unborn daughter, to save his 80 year old aunt from a magical gunshot wound and make the world forget that he revealed his secret identity on national TV and generally reset back to how he was when the writer was 10 and reading Spider-man comics but with no monogamous romance.

The motivation for most Warhammer villains is teenage rebellion against THE MAN and/or a father figure, and punk rock anarchy. Draw your own conclusions.
>>
>>47771044
Mannfred wanted power.

Nagash wanted power

Archaon wanted destroy the empire and the legacy of Sigmar for unknown reasons.

Grimgor wanted to fight stuff.

Skaven characters want power.

Malekith wanted power

The guys who wanted power outnumber any kind of villain in 40K.

(The second and fourth are collections of short and medium stories, the first and third are full novels
>>
>>47771126
Mannfred wanted to be better than Vlad, was treated like shit by everyone for not being his own man and went full retard in a hissy fit.

Nagash was rebelling against THE MAN, meaning the system by which he was forced into a shitty dead end job (no pun intended).

Archaon had daddy issues about his father being a rapist, his father figure not being part of his life, and the "man" who claimed to be his father trying to mold him into what he wanted him to be. So he went full retard, embracing the family legacy and deciding to fuck the system to get back at THE MAN.

Grimgor's secondary motivation is getting back at THE MAN, Chaos Dwarfs, for them enslaving his people.

Skaven just want power.

Malekith wanted to be his father, thanks in a great deal to his mother poisoning his mind. He wants to destroy THE MAN, which is the culture of Ulthuan to replace it with the culture of how he remembered his father; as a torturing hedonist.
>>
>>47771332
Mannfred was 10/10 until he came back and decided to WAAAGH the Empire.
That started his slow decline into Konrad 2.0.
>>
>>47771690
Skaven are literally trapped in a rat race.
>>
>>47771690
>Grimgor's secondary motivation is getting back at THE MAN, Chaos Dwarfs, for them enslaving his people.
I don't really think that Grimgor REALLY cares all that much about the Big-Hat Stunties.

He's free now and anybody that does get enslaved by them is clearly not strong enough.
>>
>>47771690
Malekith wants to be the MAN, though. He's the "rightful" king.
>>
>>47771763
Technically even by End Times reckoning he isn't.

Aenarion's firstborn male son was Morelion. Morelion's line continued until Tyrion, the current patriarch.

Tyrion is rightful heir of the Phoenix Crown.
>>
>>47771872
I'm aware. As far as the fluff I know, he was tested and failed. But since he's still alive, he doesn't give a shit and wants what he thinks is his.
>>
>>47771872
Morelion willingly forfeited his claim to the throne. Him and his descendants have no claim over it.
>>
>>47771703
You could say that

Despite all his rage, a given skaven's just a rat in a cage.
>>
>>47771927
Do did Malekith.
He swore that if he was not elected, he would not push the issue.

None of Aenarion's line has claim, other than the male descendants of Aenarion's daughter Yvraine, the second Everqueen of the post-Chaos era.

So basically the only "rightful heir" would be if Alarielle had a son, or an elected Phoenix King and/or the nobility of Ulthuan changed the rules so a female could take the throne.

What everyone forgets about the Phoenix King is that it is an artificial position, and only serves as the leader of the armies of the Elves.

Warhammer Elves parallel Japan. The divine ruler, the Emperor/Everqueen, is the most direct descendant of the most important god, Amaterasu/Isha. In theiry the Emperor/Everqueen is supreme ruler and the link between mortals and heaven as a type of covenant that the gods are real.

After a priod of great conflict it became apparent that the Emoeror/Everqueen could not lead and unite the armies, resulting in the death of the current Emperor/Everqueen.

So the nobility gathered and chose one among their number to lead the armies, but live in complete loyalty as the living execution of the will of the divine. The Shogun/Phoenix King.

But the position meant to unify instead caused more conflict, partially because of wars over who the Shogun/Phoenix King would be between living heirs and those elected to the post, and less wise Shoguns/Phoenix Kings waging really poorly planned and unnecessary wars.

The only place where there is a divergence is the Wood Elves, who are like if the Ikko Ikki decided "Fuck the Shogun and fuck the Emperor, we're going to live in the magical forest and live directly with Amaterasu herself."
>>
>>47772166
Not only was he not a goid enough Wizard, the most important thing for a Vampire who wants to lead an army, but he alienated his own Wizards that he relied on entirely.

In general, his main weakness is the fact nobody liked him. He cpuldn't inspire loyalty in a bat, let alone another Vampire or a Necromancer. He ruled by fear and nothing else, and failed miserably as a result.

In retrospect though, he at least wasn't haunted by Vlad's legacy like Mannfred was.

So, what do people think about 9th? Is it worth looking into? :curious:
>>
>>47772440
There is only one completely balanced Warhammer edition. The 9th Age.

Some people prefer 6e, which is a very close runner up and good if you don't own any of he 7e or 8e models that were released. Kings of War is another alternative, but some people dislike how mosels are too similar in stats and many things present in all modern Warhammer editions are absent.

But those are the only real three choices for most of us.
>>
>>47772544
>Some people prefer 6e
Well, that is the edition that I typically play. Well, that and 8th, because 8th is still somewhat played where I live.

>>47772544
Kings of War is another alternative
My big problem with Kings of War (it should be noted that I have only had one viewing of the game, I have not gone through the ruleset) is the removal of units. It's been a while since that game, but I thought it looked weird.

>>47772544
>There is only one completely balanced Warhammer edition. The 9th Age.
So, the reason why people play 9th is because of the balance? Maybe I should have a look.

9th managed both internal balance, and game-wide balance. There are no garbage units in 9th, and the only two army tiers are God and High.

The only fault is that the only End Times models it has are Morghasts. No Blight Kings, Nagash, Mortarchs, Maggot Lords, or Glott.
>>
Someone said 9th age distanced Beastmen from Chaos, can anyone go into more detail about that?
>>
>>47772657
Model removal makes sense at the sort of scales Warhammer was originally designed around. With less than 20 men per unit. Once you get into units of 40+ plus, it just gets ridiculous.

Even when I played Warhams, I multibased, and just kept a few loose models per regiment to track losses (i.e., second rank dies, take out he multi-base, throw in the loose guys as needed).

There is no link between 9th age Beastmen and warriors of the dark gods or daemon legions.

No magic items or other rules hint to such a link, no marks exkist for beats even though end times gave them to all units. They also got lore of nature (old lore of life) instead of the chaos lores.

If 9th is supposed to be a rebalanced 8th, can anyone please justify why they've limited multiple Core choices? It makes no sense to me since I can think of no army that caused problems with Corespam, and plenty that get fucked.
The one and only instance I can think of is WoC chariots, but they're Special now anyway so have already been fixed.

But for Goblins its awful, especially since everything's been condensed into special rules within the unit.
Like what the fuck am I supposed to do if I want to take *both* Nights and Commons without units of 50 archers?

Just reeks of 'change for change's sake'. Hail Tzeentch.
>>
>>47774145
Well, that's sort of good.

If you can't squish them into one army, make them unique from wach other.

Lore of Life would just be Nurgle Beastmen though, right?

Would Chaos Gods of Law have Beastmen?

>>47775392
So you can't take a fuckton of minimum sized units as an unending speedbump highway.

But you've got a limit of four duplicates, nobody should have a problem with that.
>>
>>47775550

It's rare that it comes up, but very irritating. It feels like you're being punished for playing themed armies.
For example, Night Goblins.

I want to take a 20-man bunker for my Great Shaman.
Then I want 2 units of Archers on the flanks.
Now I have one fighting unit left which is also supposed to cost 300pts to meet Core requirements.
And it simultaneously forbids me from taking *any* Common or Forest Goblins at all.

I understand that spammed speedbumps is a problem, but did any list actually use that in a viable manner?
Maybe Skaven with their Ratdarts, but again the simple fix would be to increase the minimum size rather than enforce global restrictions.

Basically I am a salty Goblin and I don't think the rule is there for balance reasons.

The rule is partially because of SkavSlavs, partially Gobbo Fanatic spam, and partially derping dead lists.

As a Strigoi player who just took a Ghoul horde its not as pleasant either, but I fixed it by taking a Varghulf and Mortis. Mortis doesn't break theme too much, its just "Vampire found an ancient relic somewhere".

Do like I and include trolls and squigs as fighting blocks. I usually play 2 units of bow/shield/sneaksy stabber normal goblin, one large "killy" unit of forest goblins with spears and poison and one cave goblin character bunker. Then 2* 30 quigs and at least 6 trolls for some punch.

>>
>>47776561
Why not? It's not like they aren't organized already. You have four gods, each with an area of influence, having specific symbols and rituals and rites and prayers and everything.

WH40K gods of chaos aren't chaotic at all.
>>
>>47776561
Warhammer Fantasy had three "Gods of Law" that were seperate from the main Chaos Gods and the human/elven/Dwarfish gods.

Arianka, Solkan, and Alluminas.

Pretty much never mentioned these days, hell I think they were quietly swept under the rug at the same time Malal was retconned.

BEASTMEN AND WOOD ELVES CONFIRMED! ALONG WITH CHAOS DWARVES AND OGRE KINGDOMS!
>>
>>47776842
There was no real confirmation of Chaos Dwarfs and Ogre Kingdoms, they were theorizing that they'd be part of GAME2/Full Expansion 2.

I do wonder how beastmen will work on the world map, a "homeless" horde army of sorts but not quite the same as chaos warriors since they're supposed to be incredibly sneaky even within enemy territory.

Also Herdstones are sorta static like towns
>>
>>47776561
Chaos in the Warhammer sense is "potential".

You had the Chaos Gods of Destruction, which were Nurgle, Khorne, Slaanesh, and Tzeentch. Then the Chaos Gods of Law, which were Solkan, Arianka, and Alluminas. Finally, Malal was neutral and represented Chaos destroying itself, which is the fate of Chaos.

GW dropped the rest because they're hard to make models for.

The line of reasoning that "Elves are too arrogant" is so stupid.

Sure, most Elves know better. But its fucking Chaos, if Slaanesh decides he wants somebody he should be able to lure them.
>>
>>47779302
>if Slaanesh decides he wants somebody he should be able to lure them.

It's not so easy with elves as that. You need to talk them into it and be much more creative than you would with a human. An elf doesn't need a longer life. An elf doesn't need your help to be strong. An elf can't be bribed with magic easily. You have to make them think they're in charge.
>>
>>47778520
I don't like the Slaanesh cult stuff with Dark Elves. They obviously are Khorne cultists.
>>
>>47779410
>You need to talk them into it and be much more creative than you would with a human.
This is a very good reason...if it was Sigvald or N'kari we were talking about.

Again, Slaanesh himself.

>An elf doesn't need a longer life.
Untrue, they will still die of old age. Chaos Morathi's primary gift from Slaanesh was the ritual that keeps her eternally a teenmommy.
>An elf doesn't need your help to be strong.
Untrue. As Aenarion proved, magical buffs are always good. But you're right in that it is more of a Behelit than a primary promise like it is with humans.

>An elf can't be bribed with magic easily.
True.
>You have to make them think they're in charge.
Isn't that the same with the humans though? Hell, Sigvald barely even acknowledges Slaanesh as being above him. He gives as much respect as a regular man would their uncle.
>>
>>47779448
Witch Elves were Khornates. Morathi and the highest nobility were Slaaneshi. Malekith and the soldiery were godless.

>All in all, Malal was designed as an antihero side to Chaos who is beneficial to the side of Order but is too Chaotic Evil for any being to trust, and actively drains both friend and enemy of energy to feed himself. Serving him is advancing oblivion, fighting him is to be annihilated. Any infighting on the part of Chaos resulted in Malal growing in power, essentially introducing the concept of total war to the Warp entities. Only by cooperating and shifting their attention to the mortal realm could the other Chaos Gods escape his influence, where they found his minions waiting for them.

Why does this sound so awesome? Malal should have never been removed.

>Zuvassin is a rogue Chaos God who undoes the plans of any being, Chaos or not, including Tzeentch. He accepts all followers for all reasons and doesn't issue instructions since his followers should technically be working to subvert them, so that anything Zuvassin gets involved in becomes a complete mess where nothing can be predicted and everything goes wrong for everyone to varying degrees making him the only Chaos God who embodies the concept of "Chaos". Any time you could make a list of possible outcomes for any given thing then draw in Zuvassin, the "INCONCEIVABLE" result will occur; a coin will fall through a portal into another dimension and land on all surfaces at once, a six-sided dice will crack in half while being rolled and reveal a 7 and 8 inside results, both factions in a battle will actually somehow end the day with more soldiers than they began with.

This is also awesome, and Games Workshop still owns the rights.

I played warhammer total war, but I didn't like it much. It did however get me interested in the fantasy. The only exposure I had to it was 40k which I didn't really like, but now I'm now halfway through the second Nagash book and I'm loving it. I have a few questions.
At first I thought that Nehekhara was the area north west of the big river separating the wastes form the empire, but cross referencing the names of cities, it looks like it's the area where the dwarves live now. How did that come to be? And where is the sour sea and the territories around it? Is that Sylvannia? Where is the empire that Lahmia bought the dragon firearms from?
Is this the right thread? I'm sorry if it's not.
>>
>>47780931
They switched focus to the "big 4" a long time ago and away from the concept of other chaos gods. The only one that remained was the Great Horned Rat, and I don't think he's been referred to as a Chaos God in a long time. Oh, and Hashut, too, but he's semi-squatted along with the Chaos Dwarfs.

The Warhammer Fantasy world looks like ours, but is 7 times bigger and has slight differences.

Nehekhara=Egypt. That river=The Nile. The Empire=Germany. Dwarfs (not Dwarves, its always Dwarfs in Warhammer for some reason) are in the mountains of Europe AKA "The Old World". The Sour Sea is basically the Warhammer version of the Red Sea, the sea in that tiny stretch of Middle East land where Africa connects to Asia and is ringed by Nehekharans and the Warhammer Arabs, Araby. Sylvania is Romania basically. Just like in real life, Nehekhara AKA Egypt was connected via the Silk Road to Cathay AKA China, which is where the dragon firearms are from. The vampires from Lahmia later on dominated the Silk Road.

The author filled in the blanks on a lot of the characters that were left out on his ask.fm. These were considered somewhat canon until GW told him to cut the shit. Which was stupid because he was making the endtimes much more enjoyable, and just about everything he came up with was better than the shit GW decided was a proper farewell to the setting. GW can't handle one of their authors embarrassing hem in the fluff department, but I still consider most of what he said to be part of the canon. Just his information on the greenskins was enough to justify an "Endtimes: Grimgor" book about Grimgor taking on the east, blowing out the chaos and order forces there, then crushing the chaos dwarfs. But instead we got one shitty chapter with him where he Spares malekith and lets elves join his WAAAGH....

But I am an AoSfag and i still thought the endtimes were poorly executed. Half of the dumb shit didn't even need to be there to lead into AoS anyways. Reynolds canon being part of the main story could have justified at least 2 more books.
Endtimes Grimgor would have followed Grimgors trek east, first uniting with the hobgoblin khans before taking on both the chaos forces in cathay and the armies of the dragon emperor. Next chapter would have involved his war with Nippon and Clan Eshin, while the next would be about him fighting Greasus and gaining the Ogres. The final, epic chapter would involve the seige of Zharr Naggurund and the fall of the chaos dwarfs. Endtimes Abhorash would have followed Abhorash and his closest followers from Araby up to Bretonnia. THe book would be split into chapters following Sigvald, Gilles and Abhorash, with all 3 coming together in the final act. and End times Arbaal would have dealt mostly with the fall of Ind, but also follow some other characters and plot lines left out like the final awakening of the Dragon Ogres and Settras whereabouts Between when he was restored and when he ended up In middenheim.

May as well go through the Realm of Chaos, through the warp and into the 41st millennium because Gelt clearly has Baneblade shreking skills.

I sent Gelt with an elite army to Kislev. The Chaos forces were already weakened by Kislevites and by the Count of Wissenland.
In a battle against three Chaos armies I managed to kill all their generals with Final Transmutation.

I'm a newbie to WHFB but I play Total War for like 12 years so here some advice for the Empire.

The most important thing, which I also fucked up in my first campaign, is to avoid overexpansion. You can easily defend Reikland with a full stack until you build up your economy. Then make a confederation with Talabecland. The Count of Talabecland has the underdog trait so it will be easy.
After that recruit Karl Franz and send him to Talabheim. Build up the defenses in case if Archaon is dicking around. He don't need a full stack yet.
Around that time you should have Demigryphs. Recruit 4 units of them for both armies. 4 Demigryph units costs roughly 1000 gold per turn so you should be able to afford them. After that take Marienburg. If you built up the defenses properly in Talabheim send Karl to minor city in the Wastlend (forgot the name).
When Archaon comes send your veteran army to Kislev and let's hope that Ostermark or Kislev or some other guy was able to weaken them enough to beat them.

contd.

Under any circumstances, don't confederate with Middenland and Nordland. The raiding Norscans will kill your economy and since the coastline is really wide you need 2-3-4 army to properly defend the provinces and you won't be able to afford them. I forgot to mention that you should always try to confederate with Wissenland because it's a relatively safe and rich province.

About the army rosters I used roughly the following:

>4-5 shielded spearman*
>4-5 swordsman
>4 crossbowman
>1 greatswords
>1 outrider
>1 mortar
>general
>witch hunter
and later
>4 Demigryphs with halberds

*You can use halberds too but I didn't like because I find them slow and the spearmen are cheaper.

Please note that this is the relatively early phase of the campaign. Of course later you will be able to get those fancy and expensive units.

Always go for their general. With Final Transmutation and Accusation (Witch Hunter ability) you will finish them off in no time. After that it's a walk in the park.

I wrote this wall of text because I saw that we have many new Total War players who are confused about the mechanics. I also don't think that I'm a pro or something so there are might be more effective strategies and tactics but I hope it was somewhat helpful.

>destroying on turn 68
Impressive, given the amount of forced march yakety-sax nonsense. You're not out of the woods until turn 100+ though: that's when Archie, Sigvald, Kholek and Sarthorael spawn with 4 fullstacks, along with 2 reinforcing fullstacks every couple of turns until you wipe out the main 4 lords.

I still think it would be interesting if Malekith had been chosen (burned nearly to death as punishment for being a dick and to test his resolve, but chosen) but still denied for being an easily manipulated murderer.

Might go a long way to explain why other elves would follow such a loser at all.

It would have been a great moment where he gets his shit kicked in by Tyrion, who looks exactly like his father, and comes to the horrific realization that he was meant to be king, and still could have been, if he wasnt such an evil Dick. In his last moments he realizes that everything he ever fought for was already his, but he lost hat right to someone far less qualified

How different would the Warhammer setting have been if these 2 and the gods of law were just as important to the setting as Khorne, Grimnir or the lady?
>>
>>47784553
Completely and utterly impossible to manage, save for minor appearences and/or powers.
How cam you write well about a god whose shtick is basically being lolrandumb?

Also tons of dicerolls ITT, with shit like "roll a die, if you wound your enemy you actually heal him for the amount of wound you inflicted"
>>
>>47784172
Yeah. But the main invasion is easier if you manage to keep the northern regions intact.

For those playing TW, check out the "Proper Combat" mod. I've been playing around with it, and it definitely brings the game more in line with classics like Medieval 2, rather than spazfests like Shogun 2.

If you want to have to time to actually appreciate all those detailed graphics, rather than play the entire battle at max zoom, this is for you. Though even then, I rarely zoom because you can use that extra time to micro your cavalry and missile fire.

I'm hoping I'm just thick, but is there any place I can view spell cards etc. for Warhammer RPG 3e? Or would I have to go out and buy the sets somewhere? Looking through the .pdfs and it doesn't appear that I could actually play the game using just them.

You forget Necoho and Zuvassin don't have followers.

Necoho is a lore-only character, Zuvassin is like Nuffle where you just blame him as the dice god for bad rolls and maybe name a magic item after him.

Malal just has champions. Arianka empowers all models with a LD above 6 in the Order factions, Solkan is just the guy who buffs judges and lawbringers in fluff, and Alluminas is lore only.

>>47786417
WHFRP 3e is complete shit.
I don't know a single person that plays it.

Stick with 2e.
3e killed the genre.

Didn't actually answer my question though.
>>
>>47786569
You can't play the game without the proprietary jew items and they're not online.

You're shit outta luck if you wanna play 3e.

IMO, post-SoC WHFB would have been a great setting to delve into.

The Empire was sorely pressed and took a beating (Poor Kislev and Middenland), and now has Manny preparing for a Cold War in Sylvania, but when you compare what the Destruction factions lost / are now doing it's got a sort-of good thing going for it.

Chaos was buttfucked, their Everchosen and his Warhost humiliated while Be'lakor and his Daemonic Legion are banished. Grimgor turned his Waaagh! on the Chaos Dwarves (between infrequent bouts of reaming Hellpit), which could very well disrupt the Hordes' relatively stable supply line (in addition to emptying the Empire of a shitton of Orcs and Goblins, the latter in a quite permanent fashion).

Skaven are probably not going to take any overt action in the near future, Skyre's artifact a relative dud and Moulder fucked over between Grimgor and Archaon's failed campaign. Pestilens and Eshin seem likely to sweep up their lost favor, both favoring behind-the-scenes dickery over martial campaigns and overt action.

Beastmen did sort-of alright against the Wood Elves, but are soon going to be pinned between a returning Errantry war and VERY pissed off Wood Elves who'll doubtless capitalize on the cavalry rolling through their camps.

Mannfred is pretty well off, but his actions are limited until the forces of Order disperse: He's right on the doorstep of a Slayer Stronghold itching for a death in glorious battle, and as mentioned prior there's an Errantry Crusade due to return south soon. He's likely going to need to bash some Count / Thrall heads soon too, since Vampires don't like sharing.

Use the opportunity for a Post-War Renaissance / Civil War (depending on if you want more or less Grim Dark)? Kickstart an Undead campaign w/ Nagash's return and a three-way spat between Mannfred ("I JUST WANT A FUCKING PROVINCE") / Diminished!Nagash ("What the fuck have you been doing while I was gone?") / Settra ("I knew I heard some whiny shitfucks up north")?
