This dropped today.

Medium base Ellowuyr units eventually, eh?

Shit cool looking unit

In the art they seems normal sized. I don't think they will be multi wound.

Just updated to mk3 list building.

Cephalyx is using the mk2 theme until the mk3 theme is known.

Also, anyone have links to the bilingual spoilers (with more cards than the deck spoilers) for any factions other than Cygnar and Trolls?
>>
>>47683204
Can't find Sylys when I'm making a Khador list.

Good stuff though, been a pain in the ass making lists by having to search the pdfs.
>>
>>47683361
He should be on the list now.

Just realized I don't have the Mercs that got changed to caster attachments working properly, but I'll get them there soon.
>>

nice work anon thank you, it's not letting me change army size the rest works though

Fixed now.

>>47684202
>nice work anon thank you, it's not letting me change army size the rest works though

Thanks, fixed that bug -- it should work after a refresh. (If not, do a hard refresh; control-shift-R on Chrome, at least).
>>
>>47683204
Inflictor is 8 pts, should be 13
>>
>>47684329

yup works now, if you're taking suggestions maybe add the casters' numbers to their names? if I'm starting a new list it's an extra step to go find out which goreshade is goreshade2 is for example
>>

Can't attach War Dog to B3. I thought attachments could be added to Warcaster units?
>>
>>47683025
Maybe they'll be tall like Thyron
>>
How do I actually use Mordikaar properly? He can't support infantry outside of bringing them back to life, his "nuke" is mediocre, Ghostly is pretty shit because no infantry can get the job done from weird positions. The only Skorne warlock that feels any good that I own (pMakeda, Naaresh, pMorghoul, Mordikaar) is pMakeda because you can actually help your infantry in the fight while your beasts punch shit through Carnage. The fuck is Mordikaar considered a good warlock for?
>>
It's not letting gallant be attached to magnus
>>
>>47682882
This picture looks cool and I have been wanting to get into a tabletop strategy game, is this an army in the game and if so what are they like?
>>
>>47684901

they belong to these guys http://privateerpress.com/warmachine/gallery/retribution-of-scyrah

they're elves who believe humans using magic is responsible for killing the elf gods so they're out to stop all human magic. in game they are very shooty
>>
>>47684901
So far the rest of that particular army has a different aesthetic from that picture, except for one general (warcaster) who is already released. The army combines several different Houses with different styles, this will be the first unit in that style and it's not even out yet. So you shouldn't necessarily pick up Warmachine just because you like that unit.
>>
>>47684668
They can. I think it's a bug. When I tried it, I couldn't put Rocketeers with Riflemen.
>>
Did someone drop a rulebook? I have a potential French one but my French isn't good enough to be helpful.
>>

>>

>>
>>47685722
Not confirmed, but I'd assume so
>>

>>47684668

Thanks for the bug reports, will get these fixed soon.

sooooo I'm struggling to see how useful a Neraph can be from the legion battlebox. I'm really tempted to just use it as a seraph but I still kinda like the idea of a giant flying hammerhead lol.

>still probably trash
>>
>>47684863

Move on to objectives and feat, high def+ poltergeist will mean you swing attrition and have an advantage to objectives. He also has good synergy with void spirits, more so in MK3.

You should also get new casters, those ones are shit. I run Xerxis1/Makeda3 but Rasheth, Xerxis2 and Zaal1/2 are also pretty good
>>
>>47685722
safe assumption. seems like something they would have mentioned in talks about JR or marshals.
>>
>>47685919
It kills lights pretty easy, but will need buffs (like Kryssa's feat) to kill heavies on its own. for a BB game you'll want to either:

1. start with the Neraph and let a Shredder finish it
2. start with the Neraph and let a Bolt Thrower try to finish/quick work
3. start with both shredders (2nd will get flank) and let the Neraph finish + sprint to safety
4. As 3. but let the Bolt Thrower finish for QW

any real shot of smashing a heavy, you'll soften with the BT from long range and probably feat.
>>
What Warjacks go well with Kraye. I've decided to go Cygnar because I like his model. People are saying he's bad but I assume they're just angry at change. It seems like he would like melee jacks?
>>
>>47685919

unfortunately our box is pretty much limited to assassination, so you'd use it to move stuff out of the way to get to the delicious caster goodness
>>
>>47683204
Black Dragon Pikemen are absent from the Khador list, they have a different point value in Mk3. Great work though, thank you.
>>
>>47686142
It's got a really good alpha feat turn output wise. So long as Kryssa herself gets involved.

Consider it vs the Khador box. The Bolt Thrower can continually thunderbolt a heavy out of the game. Then you dogpile the other and hope for the best.

IIRC only Mercs and Khador have double heavy battleboxes. So against most of the single heavy ones that bolt thrower is putting in work or the enemy is positioning very tight. At which point you can go for a spray followed by a Quickness to get damage on everything at once.

>>47686068
>>47685919
In pure battlebox games? I think if the Neraph gets a good charge kill off on an enemy light that really tilts the match. Sprint + Tactical Supremacy sprint puts it back into safety. At which point your enemy is in major trouble.

On feat turn it's P+S 16 charge and x4 P+S 18s. With coil. So I think it can mostly kill a heavy of any Battlebox during feat. Throw anything else in the list (including the warlock) at the heavy and it seems like a comfortable kill.

I kind of feel like this discussion is better if you discuss specific battlebox match ups.

Would be better to take a sanctifier or reclaimer with pReznik.
The list I've been playing around has both, but only 1 unit (and choir) to collect souls from, so I'm afraid of having too much competition for too few souls.

The sanctifier seems good with him because you can live the dream and get off perdition, brand of heresy and still have a fully loaded jack. Plus ignite helps alleviate p+s 16 I know, menite problems

On the other hand, the future sight from the reclaimer means you can be more focus efficient with his offensive spells. And you can give concealment to Reznik or other important solos.

Pic related. Repenters benefiting from brand of hersery seem really good.

>>

reclaimers are 3 points, not 2
>>
>>47684901
That's the Retribution of Scyrah.

Scyrah is one of the last living gods of the elves, and she's comatose and dying. The elves have reason to believe that human magics are draining their gods' strength, and so are on a genocidal rampage against all human magic users.

If you want to go check out the other factions' aesthetics, Privateer Press has a gallery page with every available model, sorted by faction.

Pick one that you unanimously love, come back to use, and we'll give you the breakdown.

Thanks for the bug reports, folks. I suspect there's more stuff missing, especially stuff that changed names between editions (e.g., the Reclaimer got skipped because it's now "Reclaimer Gatekeeper").

Short list of stuff to add (beyond fixing outright bugs) is adding an attachment button to directly add attachments from the army list itself, fixing save as image for non-Chrome browsers, and letting people save army lists if they log in with a Google/Facebook account. I also want to come up with some abbreviation of army list entries, both to make it more clear which version of a caster is which and because some of the full names are just too damned long.

Long term I'd like to have people be able to enter events (whether tournaments or just gaming nights) and be able to submit lists and Steamroller pairs to tournaments ahead of time to make the list validation at the tournament easier.

Continuous effects are fire and corrosion.

It's a good solo, but I play Menoth, and I wouldn't trade my ancient shroud buff solo for theirs.

I'm just annoyed to see Ancient Shroud on anything ever. Assuming 5 wounds on the Healer, that's 10 attacks I have to spend on two solos assuming all of them hit.
>>
>>47688892
Yeah I thought it was crazy because I thought it also meant spells. Otherwise this is just going to be handing out no-knockdown most of time.

What percentage of Ret has toughness?
>>
>>47688908
Unless you're relying on knockdown to get stuff done, I'm not sure it's worth putting any attacks to it. It cleans up fire during its activation, *after* the fire has had a chance to tick. And then you just set shit on fire again.

I mean, it doesn't have a 10" spell hate bubble like the covenant.

Have you considered formatting the casters like "Kreoss2, whatever the fuck" and "Lylyth1, such and so" so they appear in a better order for choosing if you don't know all the titles by heart? Especially since the number system is officially on the cards as their name now anyway.
>>
>>47684863

if you're talking mk2, his revive spell is godlike. Its a real toolbox. you can kill two nihilators top of 2 with other models and revive aggressively forward to extend threat range. you can revive into back arcs. you can revive weaponmasters into charge lanes.

in general nihilators can kill a lot of infantry and you only need to apply 3-4 of them to maximise damage.

Mordikaar fights a long battle of attrition and he is great at it.

Look up Martin Hornacek's mordikaar lists typically to have an idea of what goes in. but generally you want one unit of nihilators and a unit of cataphracts (all three are solid choices for different reasons...)

if you're talking mk3... well, they ruined his revive spell so how hes shit. Not shit like "makeda1 burning dumpster tier" in mk3, but he can't hold a candle to rasheth

Hows this look as a list:

Haley3 [+25]
-Thorn [-13]
-Ol' Rowdy[-18]

Storm Lances [-20]
Kathering Laddermore [-8]

Jr Warcaster [-4]
-Hunter [-11]

Trencher infantry Min [-10]
Captain Maxwell Finn [-6]

Gibbs [-4]
Ragman [-4]
Gobber Tinker [-2] (<-- 2pt filler)

the idea is to take on Warmachine lists that have pretty good ARM. use the trenchers to give cloud cover on the advance and to kill some infantry. Maxwell is there too, he might be a weak point but i wanted to try him.

Stormlances and Ol Rowdy are the main heavy hitters in the list. Storm lances are the arcane shield target. with Arcane Shield and haley def buff they're 15/20. Ideally they charge and wreck something with assault and dark shroud. They also shred infantry in equal measures.

Ragman can benefit from Gibbs too, since he will gain reposition[3] which extends threat on death field.

one turn trick of reviving any dead storm lances and then using hot meal to restore them all back to full. They have to sit out a turn, but in theory it makes an opponent have to chew through a 15/20 unit twice.

So, is there any merit or does the list look rubbish? Any advice from more experienced players?

15. there's lots of infantry that cap out at MAT7. its just the right side of the curve.

16-17 is leaps and bounds better but much harder to get
>>
>>47689951

its almost definitely going to be a race like the totem hunter. whatever that thing is, it used to be FA:C and the lore implied there was only one wandering around looking for shit to kill.

but now its gone to FA:1, so the original "totem hunter" is most likely just the first one that was wandering around, or there were multiple being mistaken for the one guy.

i expect lots of mobility and prey from them

they didn't have errata packs at that point though, now they know they're putting other cards out at a certain time so they can slip him in with them

>>
>>47690433
Announced but still a full year from release, and probably still being playtested. In the past they would have just stuck it on there for sure, but with their new errata policy they can just add it in later once they're sure it's gonna be a thing rather than sticking non-finalized rules on a card a year in advance.

They wouldn't need to print so many new cards if it was included in the original card. PP has referenced unreleased models and factions before, like Flamebringers and the Cephalyx contract.
>>
>>47687729
Yeah, trolls are largely resettling there, PoM is crusading, I think the other WM factions are exploiting it for resources (so Ret is there to kill round-ear mages), Everblight is expanding to go to ground and survive, Circle and COC are all 'muh laylinez' etc

>>47690633
WM has 5 full factions before Mercs/COC (even if Ret is still kind of catching up to be a real big boy faction). I expect the new Hordes to basically get the immediate launch support that COC did with the long-term development schedule of Ret

I'm really coming around to the idea that the Titan Sentry is the go-to titan now. Sure it has less fury, but overheating is going to be a problem anyway. Sure it has less damage output than a Gladiator, but +2ARM is a big deal when titans are getting -2DEF across the board, and it's only 1 point more expensive than a Gladiator. And it has 2" reach, which is probably gonna be relevant somewhere.
>>
>>47688142
If this is real it possibly marks a major change in the lore.

Previously, we didn't see divine Ret 'casters because, with their gods whammied, they were too weak to be of any use in combat roles. Now not so much, apparently.
>>
>>47690865
I like the idea of the Orgoth returning simply because they'd very likely crash straight into Khador's western coast. The reds are overdue for some fighting on their own land.

Old Witch +18
-Sylys -4
-Scrapjack -0
-Behemoth -24
-Kodiak -13
Malakov -4
-Spriggan -19
BDs + UA -21
Widowmakers -8

Weald Secrets handles the issue of Pathfinder on the BDs (swapping with Iron Flesh as needed) or helps the Widowmakers deal with cover.

I’m not sold on Andy running the Spriggan (he has to get pretty close) but Big B only takes 1 focus to shoot and can get Apparitioned out of melee to shoot, and even with 2 free upkeeps I don’t think the Old Witch would want to fuel 2 melee oriented jacks.

Could always switch Widowmakers for Ternions for more clouds.
>>
>>47690958
Ret probably takes it as as sign that they are doing the right thing by killing humans so they might also get much more support in Ios. Someone said in an insider that as of mk3 they are the main military force in Ios
>>
>>47691184
It could also be that they got Nyssor back to Shyrr and he and Scyrah are pooling their energies.

Ret goals may have shifted toward a a god scavenger hunt.
>>
>>47691074
Yeah, you want Ternions. Old Witch loves clouds. I usually plop one on her, her heavy and Scrappy then make a cloud wall in front of OW with the two jacks.

I took Behemoth out of my list for Mk3. 6pts over her warjack allowence is a fair chunk. I'm going to try Torch as he meets her WJ points exactly.

I don't like OW without a bunch of dudes to hide behind. Doom Reavers are good because they can run forward and hold up an army moving forward, then you can feat to hold them up more.

This is based on Mk2 though and I ran her with a DEF skew dudespam list, I haven't played her in Mk3 yet obviously but I'm going to try BDs on one flank to and stack ARM and Kayazy on the other and possibly a second unit of Doomies
>>
So, lore-wise, are Saeryn & Rhyas basically their own sub-faction at this point?
>>

They're like Asphyxious. A rogue element.

>>
>>47691245
Gaspy is still technically on Cryx's side though, right? He hasn't actually jumped ship like the twins has he?
>>
>>47691351
I think Old Witch has a lot of difficulty running two jacks while supporting her army and is really vulnerable to assassination (especially if the opponent has ranged attacks that ignore clouds/Stealth), so you want as much as possible between her and the opponents.
>>
>>47691658
the twins have not (mechanically) jumped ship. i mean, they might in some 3-version, but i doubt that will happen for years. they *just* got a 2-version after all.

gaspy is on Cryx's side but is very out for himself. at the same time, Toruk and Everblight have very different management styles. Everblight wouldn't tolerate Gaspy's shit, but Toruk doesn't care since his goal is "kill all the dragons" and it doesn't matter which rich lord reigns supreme - they're all still under him

Asphyxious tried to become a god, that's heresy. Only Toruk is considered a god in Cryx.
>>
>>47691783
and failed, and wasnt actually meaningfully punished, so Toruk clearly didn't care
>>
>>47691754
Thats very close to the Mk3 list I wrote for her.

The main differences are I kept the UA off the Doomies and don't have Fenris and have Kayazy+UA instead. But thats personal preference.
>>
>>47691836
The twins didn't fail though. The point is that Asphyxious would betray Toruk, making him a rogue element.
>>
>>47691008
I'd consider him with Hexy2, Fatty and Zaal2. In short, the spell slingers.
>>
>>47691740
I meant with regards to the lore.

Saeryn and Rhyas are no longer taking Everblight's orders. Gaspy is still workin for Toruk even if it's primarily for his own benefit.

Lots of Cryx casters are like Gaspy in that respect.
>>
We recently had a huge discussion about homebrewed warnouns at the lgs. One guy had built a tabletop version of a RPG warcaster, complete with rules and all. People expressed interest in trying a sort of campaign centered around custom heroes, but it's still in its early stages.
I had some sort of idea of a warpwolf-version of Karchev, i.e. a druid using a number of warbeast rules and stuff. Still working on it, though.

So, /tg/, if you could dictate a theme and/or concept for a future warcaster/-lock to PP, what would it be?
>>
>>47691948
Berserk just worries me, and Fenris helps them deal with terrain. I could certainly drop the UAs and Gobber (who was only there as 2-pt filler) for something like a Berserker, Widowmakers, or a Field Gun/Mortar + Artillery Kapitan (or 2 mortars). Or drop those and Fenris and add a Grolar.

Kayazy just look super flimsy to me now. I feel like I'd rather have the Iron Flesh on the BDs once they engage, or sooner if they don't need Weald Secrets to go in

jeez lots of options these days. that's new.
>>
>>47692007
I want Typhon to become a full Warbeast/Warlock. Like Karchev.

>>47691994
Sure. Caine3 is almost certainly not going to be Cygnar following Blood of Kings, and Magnus3 probably WILL be Cygnar. Again that's a far off way in the future. I doubt we get those casters before we get all the Journeymen-turned-full-casters
>>
>>47692007
>So, /tg/, if you could dictate a theme and/or concept for a future warcaster/-lock to PP, what would it be?

A troll warlock that empowers their deadly light beasts and ranged infantry

Convergence Huge based warcaster, Focus 10.

MAT/RAT 2, but can spend Focus to boost either MAT or RAT, but not both. Field marshal Arcane Vortex. No movement, spends focus to place itself, at 2" per focus spent. Has a gun, no melee.

No sure about spell list, feat would give battlegroup Implacable Object.

Would have an attachment, so no Corollary.
>>
>>47691783
ive always seen Toruk as always supremely bored and arrogant. He's always assumed he was gonna win. Its not just that he doesn't see gaspy as a threat... he does see anyone as a threat. These lich lords running around in circles don't scare him, they entertain him. And when you think of the core of the reason he's dealing with everblight and the others, I get the impression this is a being desperate for distractions.
>>
I'm thinking about rhulic warjacks conversions.
One thought is to put heavy jacks on the tracks. Specifically - Driller and Rockram. Though I don't know what model should I use as a tracks source.
And what do you think, is this idea bad or good?
>>
>>47692085
>A troll warlock that empowers their deadly light beasts and ranged infantry
>who is Calandra
>>
>>47692007

Well because I'd love to see a model for them/actual fluff turn up I freely admit I'd pick one of my RPG characters (Even if none of them were warcasters in the first iteration). Likely Izolda as she was a lot of fun to play and she's one of the characters that actually feels...weird...enough for a TT warcaster. There are plenty of warasters out already who fill the more standard roles.

Izolda Alkaev. Khadoran Satyxis (In 3.5 Satyxis were a lot less always super evil and often returned to give gifts to a man they'd slept with rather than just kidnapping him off to rape island. Still a rather special snowflake concept.) who's mother had died in childbirth when the birth came a lot earlier than expected. The daughter of a Kayazy (The Merchant-Princes) who did a lot of work with pirates and Kayazy (The assassins) and his daughter has ended up doing the same. A dirty fighting, brawler warcaster who mostly focuses on debuff effects. A bitch and a half to put down as the bloodier she gets, the tougher she gets.

Character-wise she's a devoted patriot who's a lot less experienced than she acts but makes up for it with drive, a willingness to learn from her mistakes and being very good at playing up 'Dark Majesty' so people don't question her. Has almost zero knowledge of Satyxis culture.

Favors high defense infantry and warjacks with multiple melee attacks.
>>
>>47692242
It's cool, but very painful. "Oh I need all this focus just to be able to move and have decent RAT, let alone cast spells. Oh I can't generate free focus with the Corollary, which makes my faction's main shtick muuuuuch worse." That's just too much non-casting that requires focus.

>>47692169
1 heavy really worries me, anon, and Perfs still just aren't there as far as i'm concerned (and I'm trying to make them work).
>>
>>47692007

Mercenary ironhead large based caster. Like a beefier Darius.

Also would be released with an ironhead unit, 8 boxes, spd 5, ARM 17, wall of steel, RNG 10 POW 10 ROF D3 chain guns, pow 14 reach CMA, repairable, that Reliable trait from the nomad chassis
>>
>>47692342

No corollary either means the caster himself will need to be able to function as a corollary or he'll literally be the worst Jack caster in the game as he wont even have power up
>>
>>47692344

Going to have a hard time selling 'Better Man O Wars' outside Khador.
>>
>>47692342
Either mitigator knockdown, accretion slam setup(against small based casters) or flare + mini feat rerolls fixes the Perf RAT. And the small based AP ruins a lot of casters. They can't stop you from getting there either.
>>
>>47685504
Mind sharing, anyway? My French is a bit ot of use, but I can hold my own, mostly.
>>
>>47692242
That sounds like a super fun concept. Focus 10 is kinda iffy on account of being Harbinger-tier focus, but knocking it down to focus 8 and making the Rat/Mat increase be 2 per focus spent.
The whole arrangement feels like one spell should be Velocity.
>>
>>47692384

We already have better gun mages.

actually maybe make them a 3 man unit, it's not like ironheads are actually organized in anyway
>>
>>47692407
Against warmachine, if assassination isn't an option, aurora can whack a jack and then mitigator can knock it down to remove it from the fight for a turn, and the Eradicators can clear infantry pretty handily.

Against jack spam you just go for assassination , because they have a pretty shitty time stopping you from getting there
>>
>>47692407
RAT 7 vs many casters isn't going to do it without also spending aurora's stick with transference. which is an option i guess.
>>
>>47692384

Tbh ironheads are arguably better than Manowars in the IKRPG
>>
>>47692444

Not really. Man O Wars are more or less 'Ironhead with several built in upgrades' for cheaper.

They can, if you dump a heap of money into them, get better than Ironhead armour but Man O Wars start off better.

Yea, the idea was to make him have a shitload of resources, but have to spend a lot of it to get anything done. No offensive spells to abuse the FOC10, but a lot of shit to spend it on otherwise.

MK2 concept said he couldn't benefit from over boosting, dunno if the new mechanic favors him enough to matter as much. Just a random idea though, have no idea how to balance it out.
>>
>>47692035
Berserk isn't a huge deal as long as you're careful with spacing and facing.
Kayazy are decent on paper. IF and Stealth keeps them safe on the approach and Duelist keeps them safe in combat, at which point you can cycle IF onto the BDs.

I'd strongly advise against taking a third jack. She can only just barely run two even with Power Up.

Manstopper: this models ranged weapon gains +2 POW
