Came here to post this
French version of Grim Backwoods instead

That's kinda sad.
What seems like a simple flavor text represents everything Phyrexian perfection stands for.
>>47660400
Brilliant
Why is Green the best mana color?
>>47662404
Why did they choose to write it like that? Hella cool tho
"I too shall be brought low by death, but until then, let me bring glory!"
i miss it, when they quoted text from literary sources
>>47662632
its reminder text not flavor text
>>47660281
That is great. I didn't realize they substantially changed flavor texts between languages like this. Anyone have more examples of that?
based giant waifu
>>47662980
It is very flavorful reminder text
This one is one of my favorites
>>47664871
LOVE ISNT ALWAYS ON TIME
>>47665451
WOAH WOAH WOAH
>>47665652
The cards name and flavor are hillarious
>>47660226
>This is trying too hard
>>47660245
>This is comedy gold
Remember goofy flavor text is only okay when it is on pre-8th edition bordered cards.
>>47665871
goofy flavor text is fine whenever its actually funny
neither werebear nor mortify have funny flavor text
Honestly, Goblin flavor texts always warrant a chuckle.
>>47665871

What is this? Loss: the Prequel?

"Don't mourn for me, it's my destiny."
Kamigawa has the best flavor.
World Cup Promo.

man, Sensei Hisoka is a real bummer to talk to, huh
>>47667447
Countless lives were lost and the war ended in a crushing defeat for the samurai. Hisoka was completely right.
card named "death stroke" i think (BB, destroy target tapped creature) the picture of a warrior dressed in black and gold striking down an angel. lead me to read about the adventures of the weatherlight, fell in love with the love story and tragedy of the Guardian angel Selenia, and the young noble named Crovax.
I have my Crovax the accursed edh, and in currently on the hunt for a Selenia to complete the set, so they can at least battle forever together...
probably want to make a Selenia and ascendant evicar. and that white time spiral one.
It's either this or Fall of the Gavel.
>>47663081
I've been trying forever to get my hands on a German Worldly Tutor for EDH solely because of the flavor text.
>>47667853
You mean your Crovax is looking for Selenia? Fitting I guess.
The whole card's flavor is just perfect to me
>scared.jpg
>>47667564
Yeah but you don't gotta be a dick about it
No storm crow?
>>47669522
this is why it's going to have to be a trade. not going to order that shit no matter how bad I want it...
Lim-Dûl always had something cool to say.
The Seer's Parables in general was a great read.
>>47674817
I see you are a man of taste.
>>47672548
This, at least before they made Eldrazi just simple giants weak to friendship fire :^)
>>47666757
This one is so badass. The art and effect together make it fit the flavor perfectly.
>>47675538
It's interesting to note that the two card combo that took down Kozilek and Ulamog would be completely ineffective against Emrakul.
I think what they did is smart - they killed off the two Eldrazi no one really cared about, set up the third one to wreck shit on a fan favorite plane where it's powers and effects can really shine and even fit in with the theme.
>>47662404
Damn that's a good one.
Like, even now, the land keeps burning. Really shows you how intense and magical those flames are.
>>47675758
Hmm. Sunlight?
>>47675830
it's wind actually
>>47675836
Ah, sure. That works
>>47675553
>tfw Emrakul was my least favourite
Ulamog had the best pose, Kozilek has the best looking drones and Emrakul's just the most powerful card so of course it's popular.
>>47676199
Emmy a cute! Cute!
Posting some of my favorites
>not posting the best one
>>47677021
that flavor text is a better read than the original one
>>47677021
I like your style, but I prefer the one about watching the gates being watched by gatewatchers keeping an oath to watch the oathwatched gate.
>>47675758
wind
>>47677255
>Oh right. The Oath. The Oath of the Gatewatchers. The Oath takn specifically by the Gatewatchers. The Gatewatchers Oath.
>>47667344
Fuck that's hard.
>>47661034
My favorite part about this is how the flavor texts changes in one edition.
Excellent art, flavour text is even better.
>>47676260
>Emmy the aeons tsundere
They're coming
>>47677788
kek
This is my favorite (at least among the non-comedic ones) because of how well it works with the card's abilities and lore.
My favorite as a child.
>>47675538
How would you have had them be beaten? And by whom?
This is like complaining the Avengers beat Ultron.
>>47679593
>Still no Absorb or Undermine in Modern.
Short and sweet.
>>47683096
I prefer the other one.
>>47682655
Re-imprisoned with the help of at least one of the original three, but not before totally fucking up Zendikar so it is all Wastes.
>nobody posted bears
Newfags baka
>>47683355
>>47682655
How about sacrificing Zendikar in some way to trap the Eldrazi there? Or using some kind of planeswalker magic to erase Zendikar (including Eldrazi) from existence or something? Something impactful would be more fitting than 'group of heroes comes together, saves the day'. The battle against Phyrexia cost countless lives. To seal the time rifts, many planeswalkers died and the nature of reality changed. Now we're in a similar crisis, and a bunch of neowalkers just saves the day with no collateral damage? Get out of here.
But I guess superheroes are just what most people are into nowadays.
>>47683799
>no collateral damage
Nigga, 95% of the plane is dead...
>>47684150
As a result of the initial attack, yes. But the planeswalkers' actions did not even cause a single injury, let alone serious collateral damage. Do you also blame superheroes for the casualties and damage that occurred before they arrived at the scene?
>>47683258
That one is the fucking best. Goes especially well if you've got Magus of the Arena and have Arcanis beat down some weenies.
>>47661034
This seems way too articulate.
>>47674431
I've always loved this one.
>>47666841
Debtors' Knell has pretty much the same flavor text but 10x better.
It's a flavor masterpiece imo.
>>47685320
>fucking hell why'd I sign onto Orzhov
>what are they summoning me for this time
>I hope I'll actually have to fight something this time
>maybe it'll kill me
>>47684362
What's this initial attack crap? By the end of the block the Zendikarian army was barely a fraction of what it was when Gideon started with it.
If an entire world is down to 15% of it's population, and you try to save it and 10% more die, you're still responsible for getting 66% of the remaining population killed, even if you barely squeaked out a win.
I do blame superheroes for having egregious troop loses.
>>47659957
>>47676260
is this cropped pornography
>>47683799
>What the fuck, no collateral damage? Fucking capefags, man!
>meanwhile in theatres, the main plot of Civil War is kicked off by a discussion of the collateral damage the Avengers cause, and the main plot of Batman V. Superman is kicked off by the collateral damage Superman caused in Man of Murder
are you confused?
This got posted on a bootleg thread last weekend. Best flavor text right here.
