Recently: You're battling the fourth and final Elite Four member, Geno. Aria hurt her voice from pushing too hard.
General rules:
There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.
Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.
Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as it comes up.
Combat involves rolls! Once there's a clear vote winner, we roll for the move accuracy/crit/secondary effect. Usually it's just three 1d100s. Sometimes you can get a modifier from circumstances, so be creative! Add flair, do tricks with moves, mess with terrain, whatever! This is not a video game.
Call me out on a mistake and receive an apology butt or suggestive picture.

This is a nice quest.
Destiny is out and doing great. She just gracefully dodged the opposing Dragonite's Thunder Wave.

The only Pokemon of yours to suffer a knockout is Aria.
The arena is balanced. There are a few small ponds here and there, two remaining small bushy and tree-filled areas that are good for hiding in, and two rocky areas near each battler.
Destiny is in the pond that has a covering of leafs. If she were to dive, she’d have visual cover.
That Dragonite seems to be pretty beefy. Like all of Geno’s Pokemon, it’s also very fast and excellent at landing critical hits.

But Geno interjects. He’s done playing around. “Destroy everything! Draco Meteor!” He looks to you and Destiny. It’s not an angry glare, but the look of a predator that’s found a competitor instead of just more prey. “There’s no avoiding this!“
A rushing sound comes from above. The sky darkens, but there aren’t really any clouds. Meteors swarm down and start smashing into the arena. Crashes and explosions light up the field and you quickly lose sight of Destiny. Dozens of Mr.Mimes do their best with barriers to contain it.
You hear the announcers hyping the audience.
The arena turns into a flashing nightmare of purple and red. The explosions press against the barriers like window panes. Geno loses his composure just a bit as he encourages Saphira to keep it going.
Finally, after what feels like an eternity, the cosmic dragon storm dies down.
Geno and his Dragonite smirk almost in sync. “I’m sorry Kat, but-”
A beam pierces through the clouds of dust and hits Saphira dead on, coating it in ice. It comes crashing down ungracefully.
“What!”
“Unbelievable, Chip! This is unbelievable!”
A gust of wind whips away the obscuring clouds. Destiny sits on the edge of one of many craters. Saphira struggles to move in it’s icey container.
Destiny breathes heavily, exhausted. She must have been moving like crazy. She looks entirely untouched from the attack.

A single bubble is all she can manage, but she smiles.
The arena is a mess of craters and impact areas. The grassy areas and ponds and some rocks have amalgamated into a muddy sludge in several places, including a large pit in the center.
“Saphira! We’ve trained for this! Remember!” It looks badly hurt. You’re impressed that it’s sticking it out.

Destiny pushes aside her exhaustion and uses Shell Smash. You’re no expert on these types of moves, but you can tell from watching her that she’s gotten a good groove going with it. She’ll be faster and stronger than ever!
You just need to make sure she doesn’t get hit.
Saphira’s ice starts sliding into the muck by a few inches.
Geno narrows his eyes. He’s considering something. Or planning something. Either way, you don’t like that look.

Dragonite bursts out of the ice, sending shards everywhere. Destiny tries to dodge but ends up struck by a small piece of ice that throws her off balance. You reflexively shield your eyes. Extreme Speed hits her hard, sending her spinning up.
Destiny evens out and blasts him with a scalding hot torrent. The smirk is wiped off of it’s face as it covers with it’s arms in vain. Despite being a Dragon type and fairly strong, it’s just too much to handle. The shift from cold to hot and beating that it’s taken force it to go down. The muck looks warm, but not boiling or anything.
A flag rises up. “Saphira is unable to battle.”
There’s a cheer from the crowd, and some murmuring.
“Impressive work from the challenger.”
“That’s right, Chip. Geno will have to go all out to get the advantage.”
Destiny is in rough shape. Your critical hit negation training only really serves to even the odds against Geno, not make your Pokemon immune. Heck, even a regular Pokemon could get lucky one in a hundred times. Her dodging won’t be as effective without a breather, and most hits will do her in, but she’s an offensive powerhouse right now.
“Rhaegal!” Geno’s voice bellows. “Claim back this battle!” He throws out his Salamence. It’s ability is Intimidate. Destiny flinches for half a second before dismissing her fear.

You’re getting a new sense from her. That dragon type of feeling that she’s always lacked. A ferocity and need to dominate her surroundings. It’s faint and distant, but it’s there. She bubbles, but it’s not a happy-go-lucky bubble. It reminds you of a pit fighter spitting.
“Think she’s past her limits?” Dark Kat asks from her stupid smug face.
You’re afraid of that. You don’t get that sense from her, but it’s hard to tell with her. You can’t see any evidence of it, but you’d be lying if you said you were sure.
“She’s fine,” you tell Dark Kat anyway. “I'm sure.” You shake her away. She’s just messing with you. You have no reason to believe anything bad will happen. It’s just nerves from Aria.

Destiny is a tap away from being KO'd, but also has incredible offensive potential right now. Switching out will get rid of her stat changes. Salamance is four times weak to ice moves. As far as you know, Salamance has no priority moves.

Destiny moves with unbelievable speed. She fires a thick, wide Ice Beam that nails Salamence. It’s a little sloppy technique-wise, but with her very strong Shell Smash in effect, it’s got plenty of power.
Salamence powers through the blast, trying it’s best to maintain it’s momentum. It’s a suicide attack.
But it just isn’t enough. Destiny’s offensive power and Ice Beam are too much, even for this mighty ruler of the skies. It flies down to the ground, simply unable to deal with the raw power of the situation.
“Rhaegal is unable to battle.”
Geno looks heartbroken. He’s mumbling something. You can almost read his lips. Something about phonetic engineering versus spirit.
“It’s spirit that matters, isn't it? Then we’ll show you ours. Fin Fang Foom! Destroy all that stands in your way!” He sends out his Tyrantrum. It is absolutely nothing like Nibbles. He looks much older, experienced, and grizzled. It’s eyes dart around like an old war vet sizing up the situation.
Destiny’s chest heaves and she wobbles a bit. She balances herself and leaks more bubbles.

At the exact same time as you retrieve Destiny, you hear Geno issuing his command. “Dragon Dance!”
Geno looks relieved and emboldened. “Interesting and as I predicted. You do have the limits of how far you’ll push. Is that cowardice, wisdom, or something else? Will you resent your Kingdra if protecting her means losing the initiative, and therefore the battle?” You can tell he was taking a risk from the tone of his voice, even if he’s trying to hide it. He wasn’t certain you’d pull back Destiny, but he was betting on it.
His Tyrantrum pulls off the dance as Nibbles comes out. He roars at Nibbles. It’s deep and strong.
Nibbles roars back. Its...not as intimidating. Still, he has spirit. And he seems to do his best when at a disadvantage.
“And what an interesting matchup.”
“That’s right Chip. But the smart money is on the specialist, when it comes to a mirror match. Geno might be able to take advantage of this to turn the battle around.”
“Maybe so, but if we’ve learned anything from this year’s tournament, it’s that with Kat and Robin, there are always surprises.”

Geno grimaces.
His Pokemon performs well. It’s a textbook example of Earthquake by a powerful Pokemon and it knocks Nibbles right over and hits very hard.
But Nibbles is tough. Very tough. He pushes himself up. Instead of his more cute roar, he screams primal fury at his opponent, forcing it back.
“Resist!” Geno demands. But Nibbles is ferocious. You get the feeling that if he wasn’t on his game, he’d have wasted the effort in trying to scare that Tyrantrum.
It runs back, getting replaced with Alteria.
“Very well,” Geno says. “I feel this is only appropriate. Alteria. Let’s show...let’s show the strength our bonds, old friend.”
Altaria doesn’t look like the others. It lacks that professional coldness. It’s excited to be here with it’s partner.
It’s ability is Natural Cure.
Nibbles is hurt. He`s not a light breeze away from falling over like Destiny, but he wouldn't be able to take a second Earthquake like the one he just had.
Nibble stands in the muck. You take comfort in the fact that he`s trained for difficult terrain like this.
