Definitely walrus. Simply for the time the GM will spend tacitly trying to talk you into taking something more appropriate for the setting.

Gibbering Mouthers need good setup if you'd want them to be scary and not silly as fuck as they tend to be.

Just imagine the group walking into some filthy dungeon with barely any light, and everything has been mundane so far but sickly and shaking, nervous and distracted even when gutted with a sword. Then they wander into what looks like a bathroom, absolutely COVERED in black mold and other sort of dangerous and unclean growths. Party notices and looks inside of a huge tub, they don't have much strong light, but it's enough to reveal it's just full of meat. Rotten, slightly bubbly, glossy sickly meat, and it's covered in eyes and mouths. Dozens of them.

And the mouths talk. Quietly. Maybe one keeps repeating the word 'Help' over and over. Another hums nervously. Two more keep mumbling something about nervously denying responsibility for some unexplained crime. Three more keep making little cooing noises of contentment, like they know something nobody else does. One more keeps calmly demanding 'Come over here'. All while eyes stare, all sorts of eyes, kids eyes, old eyes, wide eyes, bloodshot eyes, crying eyes, filthy yellow-crusted eyes, some of them staring, others rolling, most just flicking around in a way that implies panic, as if seeing something that's moving around the room out of sight.

Then it begins to slough out of the tub, slowly. Like rotten bubblegum or rancid cheese, pouring down the sides. Just stretching and breaking apart as it heaves out fat thick waves of flesh, and most of the mouths start breathing very heavily, choking on air and spit, as those nervous, or excited, or terrified.

The Butterfly, from Dragon #323, page 98! (I have it laminated)

You can't actually just pick a butterfly! Instead, you have to start with a caterpillar (with mouse statistics; in Pathfinder, that means rat ones) that grants +3 to Disguise. You can order it to pupate at any time after you reach 5th+, which puts it completely out of commission for two weeks (no benefits to you whatsoever during this time). After two weeks, it emerges as a butterfly or moth (with thrush statistics; in Pathfinder, that means raven ones) that grants +3 to Spellcraft!

Arcane bloodline Sorcerer gets one by default, and the Tattooed Sorcerer archetype gives a tattoo familiar. The sorcerer can trade their first level bloodline power and delay bloodline spells by one level to get a familiar with a special bloodline effect. A regular familiar's minimum Int is 6. If you take the sage familiar archetype this turns into 5+master's level. I like to give my sorcerers around 14 Int because 4 SP/level is bare minimum for me. The sorcerer I want to run right now has unlearned as his flaw, meaning not only will his cat be smarter than him, but that cat will be /more educated/ as well.

If you Polymorph Any Object your animal sage familiar into a humanoid race, would it be permanent?
>>

I'm trying to get a familiar that can auto pass umd checks on a nat roll of a 1. My main goal is something that can use a scroll of breath of life in case I die in combat which is like a DC 30 check even for the faerie dragon.

Evolved familiar sounds like a good plan intially but unfortunately, the character I plan on playing is also going to be dumping CHA.

Do I have any other options for boosting my umd score aside from a circlet of persuasion and maybe talking my gm into allowing masterwork tools for +2 skill?

Nope, although you could just leave it at "hair- and eye-color" with no problem of sounding fetishy too. It's a pretty simple and useful bit of lore for shapeshifting and opens up opportunities for storytellers to have a quick archetype to fall back on. Bonus: I am a high Cha kitsune whose Cha is evidenced by being the fluffiest thing ever. So headpats and tailfluffs? That sounds almost comical as a daily routine. Wake up, spend 2 hours being floofed, go fight evil, break up arguments about waifuing me.

>>
>>47221715
Do you worship Shelyn, Arshea or Calistria? See if you can ask your GM to incorporate it into your daily preparing/regaining of spells/worship.

Also, there's nothing that says the one hour of pleasurable willing contact has to be once. Theoretically, multiple people could engage in pleasurable contact with you at the same time.

While you read your spellbook/holy text.
>>
>>47221715

Honestly, I'm surprised they waited until there was a mechanical benefit for doing so before spending an hour a day each floofing you.

Here is the general series of events, going from the character's childhood to the current point in the campaign.

>hobgoblin born the son of a connected politician
>father is decrepit due to an injury in his younger days, but has proven himself clever and coniving in the political ring
>mother dies when he is young, hardly remembers her
>dance is perverse in the culture, character has a love for dance
>father ensures that said love is beaten out of him, gets son to fall in line to enter the military
>lives through the son to do the things the father could not
>character goes off to war, is a soldier for 20 years
>father grows bitter as his son continues to survive and accomplish, doing the things he could not and yet his son wishes he could simply peruse the arts, despises being a soldier
>sort of a "you have what I always wanted but you throw it away" thing
>sets son up for political marriage
>married, has child
>child likes dance as well, character hopes to through her
>wife beats the kid for this shit
>character leaves to go on a campaign
>upon his return the kid is dead, apparently beating went too far, wife is hiding it
>in a fit of rage he strangles his wife
>at the funeral his father not only tells him he has another marriage partner lined up, but that he knew everything and pushed it towards this end
>character during the funeral in a back room throttles his father
>it becomes public knowledge he killed his father
>all the threads of political intrigue fall apart, character is brought to trial and near 100% execution
>character accept this, waits for death to be the end of it
>is saved by one of the highest ranking people in the nation, instead decided he will serve as a living joke and reminder to others
>really the person saw a use for the character and considered his death a waste
>is given his own military unit and given the rank of Major, the military unit is made of rejects

>fears becoming his father after realizing he has tendencies to act like him (the living through another stuff)
>the memories of his father are stronger than ever, so he has him peaking over his shoulder
>starts taking more missions, and finally ends up dying
>goes to the abyss
>campaign continue on a separate arc and the character manages to return, dying didn't work
>kids are born at this point, and he learns in kobold culture you cul weak children
>can't bring himself to do that but knows his wife would, so now he can't leave for fear of them being hurt but can't stay either for fear of him hurting them

Also at some point he became a psionic gained a psicrystal. It's the bully personality and full of his aggressive negative emotions. So it's taking on a demeanor similar to his father.

So, bad times.

As someone who doesn't know a thing about psychic magic, what are some great spells you can get with Psychic Preparation?
>>

Family is important, also fear of his father. Family is the most important thing even if one does not like who their family is. The only time he went against that was when he snapped, which happened twice in quick succession. He was willing to overlook it otherwise.

Also because he was a soldier and a patriot. Abandoning his duty as a soldier is not something he could reconcile until after his life had already fallen apart.

Jesus christ those abilities are soul-crushingly bad even before you remember their per-day uses limit (CAN NEVER HAVE ENOUGH OF THOSE TO TRACK) and no-same-creature-in-24-hours clause. Like even with NEITHER restriction and given the feat investment for free, it's a retardedly hard sell to want to use one over any other actions you could think to take.

I have the perfect idea.

Have him soon realize that it's all the political intrigue and Old Guard politics that caused his life to suck like this. And now that his father, the guy who ruined his life and allowed his son to die, is dead, there's nothing keeping him tied down anymore.

So, he's going to take his rejects, abandoned ones, washouts, and refuse, and they're going to turn thier backs on the sons of bitches who scorn them.

Basically, find for them a goal or ideology to unite behind, preferably an ambitious or personal one. Then go full Outer Heaven/Apocalypse Now/Inglorious Bastards with your army.

You are Knights, you are dogs, soldiers of fortune and glory. beholden not to anyhome. Then, become the baddest mofo around, to the point that even your old nation now fears you and would avoid pissing you guys off.

Also, burn your family holdings to the ground, and deface your dad and wife's grave

Last session the group of monsterous PCs were trying to break out of drow experimental testing facility jail so they could get on to being pirates (they chose to do this intro rather than just describe how we all met and knew each other to start out on a meager boat).

We are gestalted, I am a kasatha brawler/stalker and also predetermined to be the captain. We ran into the prison warden who was a crimson countess harbinger/vivisectionist and also at least 4 levels above us. That fight was not tactical at all, but she eventually failed her save against a hold person while the rest of the guys were taking their crimson claim+Drain damage.

I rolled heal and did a nonlethal Coup de grace. Next session, unless we miss again, my character will be carrying the comatose warden, 4 swords, and armor while still being in light load as a dex character.

I had plans for her since the GM mentioned the warden weeks before game started. Most of it involved harembuilding with women of exotic races.

Could you guys help me to find a campaign setting that I think it was for Pathfinder and probably released by Paizo? (not sure tho)
I don't remember the name of the setting, I crossed with it some years ago, all I remember is that it was quite different from the old "Sword and Sorcery" formula, the character used no steel armor and looked quite barbaric/primitive, I think it was set in a tropical island and as far as I remember, the weapons were made of obsidian and other rocks.
I'm looking for it has been a while. Thanks.

Kineticist is the only strict improvement I've seen that can't be better done with another class and even then it can be ignored as you don't need a rogue, only reason why I'm planning on running one is because I'm in an overloaded party and not allowed anything approaching a full caster.

Well, you said someone else might choose Bard, but personally I feel that's one of the best for showing some diversity

Druid might be a good idea. If it wasn't Core only, I'd have a suggestion for how to make a functional Mystic Theurge.

Though personally, from your two choices I think the EK might be good to go, especially if you build a Buff/Control/Utility Wizard to balance out the blaster wizard

When I first introduced my group to PF, I started with a Barbarian, to help show the problems with Fighters, but that's just me

> AoE shit eating through half burn
Torrent and Wall are already free by the level you get them

> No AC
Water,Earth

> Melee combat
Blade,Whip
>>
>>47225684
wrong again. Kineticist is deliberately design to be T4 with low floor and ceiling.

It will perform adequately as a T4 whether you optimize it or not. And it will never do above 30-40% HP damage to opponent of equal CR (unless you pull out burns).

Seriously, it been a year and you haven't bother reading the actual class and its feature?
>>
>>47225745
Core Rogue is T5. Unchained with access to archetypes eeks into T4
>>
>>47225759
You also have to factor in the temp HP from aether, especially when GMs rule it as working for burn. Then there's various ways to get invis or miss chance and even just plain old make a giant forcefield.

>I don't like playing a character that ends up effectively being a god later in the game

Mithral Current is the Discipline, the Bushi class template can be applied to the Warder, Warlord, or Stalker. Personally, I like it best on the Stalker because you can stack it with some of the other archetypes.
>>
>>47225905
I'd suggest playing a Slayer then, they're basically a Fighter, Rogue, and Ranger all mixed together to be an effective and usable T4 non-magical character.
>>
That's my plan if this one dies, I'm kind of trying to go easy on the party (the GM doesn't need it) and want to take the chance to play something dumb, specifically a telekinetic hobgoblin fortune teller. I'm actually buying a harrow deck for it just to add to the idiocy. Plus it combos with the party since we have a grenadier and a few melee that will easily be able to get launched by foe throw.
>>
>>47225759
People who think kineticist is bad don't even make sense, they just kind of rant.

Kineticist is the only class capable of all-day AoE with no resources spent. They can do this at level 2. A lot of parties have trouble dealing AoE damage, especially on the level a kineticist does, so the kineticist fills an actual niche that is not filled by other classes and does it in an interesting fashion.

Put this way, it literally cannot be lower than Tier 4; It has a niche and fills it, doing it better than most, though other classes may butt in on it and possibly do it better(e.x. fireballs from wizards). It fills this niche without even considering utility talents and defense talents.

Next, we can look at how they fill in on other roles and what utility they bring. They have cantrip-level powers right out the box, a defensive ability that varies heavily but can be quite decent, and an effective array of utilities that can be used to specialize or branch out as pleased.

In this sense, utility wild talents are at least on the level of other 'talents' from other classes. Better, perhaps, because they often replicate the abilities of other spells. This means they can get into other niches in a pinch, though they won't uproot anyone in the process.

Chassis; d8, 3/4ths, two good saves, 4 ranks/level. Very middle of the road. This cannot be interpreted as a strength or a weakness.

Constitution and Dexterity based class. THREE dump stats; strength, charisma, intelligence(4 skills/level, limited class skill list). They are two-attribute dependent, which puts them on the level of most spellcasters in that regard; except their major attributes happen to be two of the best attributes. Thus, you can rely on high HP(excepting burn), good initiative, acceptable AC, acceptable saves.

I can't put it any lower than Tier 3. WARPRIEST and HUNTER are in that tier, for fuck's sake.

Stalker? Stalker seems odd to me, no idea why.

Is rubato any good?
>>

I was excited for a second when I saw a new magus archetype, but

>Spell Trapper

For fuck's sake, Paizo still can't write a magus option that isn't terrible. Who the hell do they think was sitting around wishing they could play a magus that could trade spell slots for ranger traps?
>>
>>47226049
I dunno, to me Stalker just makes sense, especially with Bushi. By level 6 you could be constantly cycling through different strikes by sheathing your weapon every turn. You could even hit people at range by cycling the two ranged strikes from Mithral Current.

I think the Rubato is good, though I haven't looked into it too much.

Stalker's critical enhancing class abilities always felt weird to me.

Warlord Lilly. She also happens to be one of my more stoic characters I've made.

Aoe is no good if you're shit at it. It's better to permanently drop one target than to do trivial damage to lots of targets.

Wizards, sorcerers and psions are where it's at when you need a little bit of powerful aoe.

Dorian, I need you to understand something.

Throughout all your drawings, you seem to have a certain motif in certain images that transcend race, class or campaign. Lilly commenting on skinny arms, Elsbeth pinching cheeks, it dawns on me you need to create a new character that embraces the ideas you have already brought forth in your work.

An ara ara~ MILF, preferably adventuring with one of her children, and takes on the role of Party Mom.

>uses "all day" as a sticking point
>claims a Monk Chassis is okay
>not only is burn retarded, but it has a scaling cap to prevent its more useful options until much later
>your damage is shit, and with its scaling as it is you're much better off playing a Spherecaster with Destruction.
>most all of the useful infusions require minimum of 2 burn, which again you are limited since you have to eat a bit for your Burn-per-round cap to increase
>or you can waste your move actions or full rounds with Gather Power, which really isn't a good thing
I will agree that the defensive talents and that most utility talents not costing burn are good things, but still this class is far too limited in the wrong places.

Really, if I wanted to play a Kineticist type character, I'd play a Spherecaster, since I can also branch out of Destruction for added utility

SR campaign a few years ago, the party ended up getting an NPC named Elsa (lots of frozen jokes were made especially when it was revealed that she was focused in ice magic, the pre-written campaign even predated the movie). The party face died and we got permission to use her, since she was unstated, instead of making one from scratch. Ended up giving her mind control and memory rewriting spells in addition to the ice. Last session comes along. We take out the second strongest NPC's ride and her, our tank (an orthodox jewish orc from New York who went by the Hebrew Hammer) kills both of the mooks with his sledge hammer. Turns out one of the mooks was NPC's husband and they were enlisted by somebody else who kidnapped their kid, Elsa decided to rewrite her memory so my character was suddenly her husband (and she wouldn't get a save for about three years). We move on to the next combat with the new NPC under my control (bad move, I already broke summoning and she was damn good at that). We bring down the big bad, the strongest NPC in the campaign. Elsa mind rapes him into being her obedient fucktoy (yes, those words were used and the player offered to give exact terms) who wouldn't get a save for around sixteen years. I fear for what would happen if our GM wasn't graduating because Elsa wanted herself a harem. Turns out the ice queen ran a bit hot.

I've already told /pfg/ about the results of me making a Kitsune Enchanter Sorcerer as a joke character for a oneshot. No matter what I try to do with this guy, somehow it manages to be someone in my group's fetish. The fact that enchantment magic could mindfuck people somehow only encourages them. It gets surreal when I think back on the things I've just played along with out of curiosity.

I still want to play him in a real campaign, though, if only so I can show the group that he's an asshole they should probably stop liking so much.
Knowing my luck they'll just love him even more, then try to put him in a dress again.

..This must happen. I do believe it shall become a thing! But where to start? Elsbeth and Lilly are older characters of mine and I found a few opportunities to build them for a game or two. I might have a MILF character or two buried in my older designs, but I can't promise anything off-hand; also I highly doubt I'll get to piece them together for a game either.

Kinda funny though: one of my first thoughts was Lilly adventuring with her daughter when she came of age, but really Lilly would likely be far too busy running a country than running around and bashing skulls anymore.

Sylph Primal Air Sorceress. Felt like she wasted her youth (35 is kind of old for Golarion or any other setting apparently) and mostly worries about two things - doing something good in the world before she gets arthritis and placating Hsurha so her soul doesn't suffer TOO much on the Plane of Air.

The others are all either "innocent" or "disinterested."

Why not a full-blooded Elf? That would make sense for a character that's able to adventure with their children and still keep up.

A few other propositions. I think a better place to start might be picking out a campaign setting; races and cultures can vary wildly, so it might be wise to try and pin down where they're from to flesh out how they may behave and interact.
