That's not what tempo means edition.
>>47193967
That's how the other anon explained it.
>>47194016
>Whenever ~ enters the battlefield or leaves the battlefield, [...]
>>47194061
>Return ~ to its owner's hand.
Unless specified, it is assumed that abilities only function on the battlefield. Unless they're characteristic abilities, like with the Goyfs.
How even would you consider the power of these cards? Any corrections needed? Any feel off color?
For some context, each of the characters in the art are meant to be similar to Anger, filth, ect
Yes I realize that one of the classics from the cycle was named Glory. I'm changing the RW one to something else. Thinking Valor or Passion.
>>47194332
>Any corrections needed?
Besides the ones that were already pointed out that you didn't fix?
>>47194332
>legendary
>generic names
Not feeling it.
>>47194332
Degredation: Very strong but not overpoweringly so. If you want to take it down a bit, make it only activatable once per turn.
Glory: Absolute shit. How many renown creatures are there? How many of them are remotely playable? Nine times out of ten this is a way worse Glorious Anthem.
Intuition: Hexproof is a keyword now, just use that. Otherwise is fine.
Law: Lifeline is a keyword now, just use that. That is a fucking horrific downside on the draw trigger. Try making it a fixed life loss, like 2 or 3.
Ingenuity: Tons of text, mediocre effect.
>>47194332
That scry 2 makes no sense with the card.
>>47194490
Reread intuition, unless the person posting the cycle overlooked the obvious.
There's a fairly important distinction between Lifelink and a triggered ability.
>>47194523
If you don't have any creatures in the yard, this is a 5 cost 7/7 with no downside.
Unless that was your intent, I'd change it to fading instead of vanishing.
>>47194563
Could easily be fixed by making it vanishing 1 as well.
>>47194563
good catch
>>47194604
Also you could make it vanishing 1 like >>47194598 said, if you don't want both vanishing and fading in your set.
>>47194719
>>47194719
I think this should be just W.
>>47193208
>Nonblue counter spells that are still on color.
Posted these in the old thread without seeing the new thread, because I suck.
How bad is this idea, and how much should it cost on an enchantment?
>Creatures you control with haste can't be blocked except by creatures with haste.
>>47194963
I was about to say you can't counter Sorceries with this, then I remembered the bit about Flash. Good job.
>>47195017
>How bad is this idea
It's very close to straight unblockable, and should be costed as such.
>>47195009
Your Red card is something I would make White. I think Red's "counters" should be based on changing targets.
And while this isn't what you intended, I'd like to see something in White like
>Counter target spell unless its controller pays 1 for each permanent you control it targets.
>Rules of Nature
I feel like Green- Jesus, I just need to get off my ass and make some of these cards. Here, pic related.
>>47195153
>>47195153
Good one. Mine's not funny, but here.
OK, nevermind. Turns out I don't have the planeshifted frames anymore, and MSE doesn't want to install them. Well, that's fucking annoying. Well, the card idea was a Blue version of Eternal Witness named "Temporal Witness" and had this art. Let's see if I can make it tomorrow.
>>47195153
>>47195382
Oh, so it's not that MSE could use an installer, it's just that it took over ten minutes to finally load it.
Well, that was incredibly annoying. Just what I needed before I went to bed.
>>47195406
Very interesting.
>>47195406
I think this would work better as an enchantment that copied a land.
>>47195734
why doesnt this instead say "add three mana in any combination of colors to your mana pool." Or similar?
>>47195406
Token lands are apparently a faux pas, because of how often its important to know the tapped/untapped state of a land and how often people play without real card-shaped tokens.
Makes me think of like:
>Indecisive Ent
>2GG
>Creature - Treefolk
>You may have ~ enter the battlefield as a copy of any land you don't control.
>2/2
>>47195721
Too cheap.
>>47195734
"Add three mana in any combination of colors to your mana pool." As niche as this is, locking out spells is still white.
>>47195757
"can't be countered by spells or abilities"
If it has targets, uncounterable spells need the clarification. Damage needs a sources.
Also too cheap. Have you even looked at existing cards?
>>47195762
Again too cheap. It's a stretch to call the last ability blue.
>>47195770
turn off symbols for your converted mana cost.
This one is reasonable, and has some interesting restrictions.
>>47195904
should cost 4 minimum, if monocolored it should be 5.
clone effects arent cheap
>>47194114
I like it
Does this work in the rules ?
I need to fix the toughness so it doesn't die from the fight
>>47196926
It works fine yes, although it should be whenever it attacks.
>>47193922
Mercurial Mass 2GG
Creature- Ooze
~ gets +1/+1 for each creature type among creatures on the battlefield.
2/2
Knight of the Lineage WW
Creature- Cat Knight
Vigilance
~ gets +1/+1 for each creature named ~ in your graveyard.
2/2
Memory Fragment 2U
Creature- Illusion
When ~ enters the battlefield, exile the top seven cards of your library facedown.
When ~ leaves the battlefield, put any number of those cards into your graveyard, and the rest on top of your library in any order.
2/2
Rat Pack 1BB
Creature- Rat
2BB: Exile target creature card from a graveyard. If you do, put a token that's a copy of ~ onto the battlefield, then put a +1/+1 counter on ~.
2/3
Goblin Rearguard R
Creature- Goblin Warrior
Defender
~ can attack as though it didn't have defender if you control three or more goblins.
~ gets +2/+2 as long as you control six or more goblins.
~ has double strike as long as you control nine or more goblins.
2/1
Working on a set within a somewhat abstract post-apocalyptic neo-medieval North America.
>>47197328
The legendary lands need an "if" clause instead of a "whenever", or you can tap for mana in response and get your bonus too.
>2/2 soldier
Nash needs either counters or a time limit on that +1/+1. Also check the wording on ability 3.
Eridar's wording is off.
Alia is highly ambigious as to how it's supposed to work, given that it references an explicit card yet has a shuffle ability. It's also questionable if it even DOES work as printed, since you can't track individual cards while they're in a hidden zone.
>>47197328
>A city of warriors built by slaves.
Sounds like Sparta.
>>47197736
Thanks m80, I probably shouldn't be typing stuff up so late. Correct them in a bit
>>47197064
>~ gets +1/+1 for each creature type among creatures on the battlefield.
>someone plays a changeling
>>47196371
>>47195904
Needs to cost a lot more actually. The fact that it can be cast and doesn't die without other permanents on the battlefield. Compare it to Altered Ego - it costs X2GU and has base P/T 0/0
>>47196371
>>47198097
Or just compare it to Clever Impersonator where it falls off short. Not being able to copy creatures is a huge downside for a clone.
>>47198611
yeah hence 4, mixed mana seems fair to me.
you could go 5 cmc and make it a 4/4 i think. even so, copyinf enchantments is really rarely seen.
its hard to cost but definitely more than 3 mana
>>47198090
Realised this after sleep. Any way to make it undetect changelings?
Trying this one again.
Jesus, I killed the thread again? Or is everyone just busy right now?
>>47194061
Is this hybrid?
>>47195857
Does it remain a creature?
>>47202650
Only if the land it copied was a land creature. Hi Dryad Arbor.
>>47202650
It should also be noted that a copy of a Manland (oh, I'm sorry Wizards, Genderneutralpersonland) that's animated itself, the copy will still just be a land, not a creature.
>>47202624
The creature itself is just a 3/3 for 4. The activated abilities are properly color locked.
>>47200278
I'm not sure this needs double evasion.
>>47204449
Oh, I didn't even think about using the tapping to stop blockers. I just wanted something that came across as subtle and manipulative. Hmm, I think I'll just cut Skulk then. Wasn't really that excited about it anyway. Oh, and what if he got to tap/untap two things instead of one? Too strong?
>>47197328
It's Philadelphia, not Philidelphia.
"noncreature spells you cast this turn", rather than "noncreature spells you control."
2/2 for 3R, rather than 3/2 for 2RR
>>47204889
"You may return a land you control to its owner's hand. If you do, ...."
>>47204924
"If you do, investigate, then investigate again."
>>47204889
Neither "target" nor investigate should be capitalised.
Other than costing only 3 mana, it's not that overbearing. The 0 does nothing unless you invest more mana (bant doesn't strike me as an artifact deck).
I made some based on Dark Souls, let me know what you think. Are they balanced? Interesting? Fun to play with/against?
They're all designed to be played in the same deck, eventually I want to build them as a whole custom black/white deck.
I'm gonna post them one at a time

>Abyss Walker
Pretty much unworkable as it is now. Might have to figure out some way to use counters.
>Artorias
Use this wording.
>~ gains deathtouch until end of turn.
~ means CARDNAME, that is, the name of the card. Second ability probably needs a counter to keep track.
>Bell Gargoyle
>At the beginning of each end step, if ~ blocked this turn, you may put a card named ~ from your hand onto the battlefield.
Ditching the "cannot summon another" part.
>Capra Demon
>When ~ enters the battlefield, put two 2/1 black Zombie Hound creature tokens with haste onto the battlefield.

>At the beginning of your upkeep, put an X counter on Abyss Watcher.
>Remove two X counters: Put a black 3/2 Abyss Watcher token on the battlefield. Every other token goes to your opponent's control.
Would this be too good as an instant? What if I increased to cost to 1WB?
>>47194061
God, this thing would be so annoying to get rid of.
>>47194114

>>47194523

>>47195219
Yes. This is good. I half expect to see something like this in Battle over Scars of Ravnica.
>>47196022

>>47205508
>Remove two [name] counters from ~: Each player puts a token that's a copy of ~ onto the battlefield.

>>47205502
>Detain target nonland permanent.
Note the full stop and uncapitalised "permanent".
>You may return a land you control to its owner's hand. If you do, investigate, then investigate again.
Note the full stops.
>You gain X life and draw X cards.
Note the "you"
It's rare to for Planeswalkers to have even one non-vanilla keyword on them, let alone two. Nothing technically wrong with that, though. Planewalkers are an absolute bitch to design, in any case. Make sure to change the rarity to mythic.
FInal note: Tamiyo may be a cute, but she's not green at all.
>>47205590
At two mana, it would be too strong as an instant in draw-go. 3 mana instant would be fine, but perhaps too similar to Anguished Unmaking (same speed and cmc). I like it as 2 mana sorc that carves its own niche.
>>47205811
This is a neat idea, although the last ability is meh given how restrictive it is, and how little benefit you gain (no cost reduction, only sometimes let you flash it in). I'd like to see it be 3WW and discard a card for a 4/4 flying/vigilant angel.
>>47205616
I don't want it to be a copy because then those ones build counters too.
Someone remind me why Tribal was ever a thing. Why can't you just stick creature types on other stuff and call it a day? Surely fiddling with the comp rules a bit would have been easier than creating a whole new supertype.
>>47205927
That's a common, alright.
>>47205927
>I'd like to see it be 3WW and discard a card for a 4/4 flying/vigilant angel.

Meat Dog looks like he could be GW. Sullen Bandit could be mono-B. Also,
>~ has menace as long as you control a creature named Meat Dog.
>>47206386
I saw that menace was primarily black, which is why I made them both white/black hybrids. I'd like to make the two cards synergize, really.
>>47206421
You need to learn the difference between gold and hybrid. Generally, menace is okay on a WB gold creature, not a WB hybrid creature.
>>47206448
Oh cool, thanks!
>>47206421
OK, well, the ability "Sac ~: Gain life" isn't Black. Actually, it doesn't seem to come up a whole lot. But it does come up in Green and White, so go with those. Additionally, Vigilance also works in Green or White.

>Crazed Tutor
The alt cast is effectively useless 99% of the time. Because you can't have it in your hand in order to use it, you'll have to cast it from your graveyard with Flashback, use impulse-draw, or some other odd effect.
>>47210522
The very first step in casting a spell is removing the card from your hand and putting it onto the stack. Determining what the spell costs comes later.
>>47212521
It doesn't need flying and should let you choose new targets.
>>47207996
I enjoyed it, and the rest of the soi stories, even if they get a bit fluffy at times
>>47212521
You can't have it trigger on ETB if you want it to gain counters as it enters.
>>47212521
It needs 1 base toughness so it doesn't die to SBAs. (You can't do it as a replacement ability since those can't target). I think it would be more interesting and flavorful if it only stole cmc=X, rather than X or less.
>>47213588
I'm not a fan of fading as a mechanic because it takes the permanent out of my permanents. It feels like I'm casting just burn spells in the form of creatures, which is fun sometimes but not how I want to spend all my games of magic.
>>47211948
The first effect makes no sense and doesn't play into the card at all.
Make it, "When you cast ~, exile target permanent."
"Enchanted creature has all activated abilities of all cards exiled with ~"
I would also consider making the cost 3C
>>47215657
>I'm not a fan of fading as a mechanic because it takes the permanent out of my permanents.

Whenever Bell Gargoyle blocks, put a token of Bell Gargoyle on the battlefield. I dunno about the 2nd ability.
>Capra Demon
When this card is cast, put two 2/1 Undead Dog creature tokens with haste.
You don't need to capitalize one word abilities at the middle or end of sentence. Ask other anons on how to fix this.
>>47215992
It's probably fine the way it is now. Though Vanishing should be lowercase since it's not the first word in that line.
>>47216431
Please only give advice if you know what you're talking about. I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm being sincere. Please.
>>47216514
Not really seeing your point here. If you're saying that Vanishing and Trample don't belong on the same line, I can totally accept that. In fact, I wasn't entirely sure about that, which is why I said "probably" in the post you responded to.
And I'll just point out that Flash and Convoke are on the same line on Angel because they both have to do with casting, they aren't abilities that function on the battlefield. Even if you wanted to, you couldn't put either of them on the same line as Flying.
Again, I can accept that I'm wrong on having Trample and Vanishing on the same line. I thought Vanishing could work because it still does something when the card is on the battlefield.

So. I've seen two cards printed in SOI I've made before. And while looking for a card whose name I didn't remember, I found Altered Ego. A card I've seen posted here, by different anons, at least three times. What do you think of that?

Doesn't really surprise me. Since everyone making cards, anons and Wizards, works from the same database of Magic cards, it doesn't shock me that every so often we both have similar ideas. Come on, again? Just use ~. Also, it shold probably specify that you have to control the creature named Dragonslayer Ornstein
Wait, I'm actually not sure you understand how a legend name works. The legend name is uses all the words of the legendary card before the first comma in the name. None of these cards actually have legend names, because none of them use commas. Unless I'm mistaken, in which case I'm sorry.
Also, you messed up the color indicator on Ornstein's backside.
>>47216889
