I love EDH, but fuck if some people aren't total manchildren when it comes to it. Be prepared to be called satan himself if you dare interrupt someone's big play. Fuck no, I won't let your entwined Tooth and Nail resolve dipshit.

I get that EDH is a place for splashy, wacky stuff, and I love it for it, but please let something other than creatures: the tappening be a part of it sometimes.

In my experience, it's the standard/EDH-only crowd that whines the most, the legacy-players usually bring the most fun to the table.

No, on account of being yuropean. Thinking of going to the next stop of BOM though, if I can get some byes at the next local trial.

ANT. I got the pieces before the price spike on LED and duals, so still a poorfag.

No probably not. Don't have time.
>>
>>47135649
Edh is my format. And locally I've found groups that play the way I do (for the most part) but on these boards holy fuck.

I don't play any infinite combos or MASS land destruction. I play magic to play, not sit out and (for the most part) I've been lucky enough to find players with similar playstyle. /tg/ makes me think everyone I don't know plays MLD and combos ASAP and if they don't they are casual faggots who cry about everything. Why is it so black/white here?

Really weird build of UW D and T?

I like Russian cards, Cyrillic looks pretty cool. Foils are pretty shitty in general.
>>
Just finished my playset of forces. Feels good.
>>
>>47139592
Good choice. When EMA drops, they'll go up as people realize the old art is the best art. Also, that the influx of new FoWs won't meet demand.
>>
>>47139751
Same, new force art looks like even more generic "waves hands with blue shit coming out" art. In the original card, the guy looks like he is actually struggling, and giving it his all. It was a unique take on the usual counterspells art. Pretty disappointed Terese fell into that trap for blue cards art.

At least 1 Sea and the Badlands are real as well as the LEDs. Honestly, I've always been a little unsure about 1 of the Seas but I'm pretty sure it's real. I got them long before the more recent huge wave of fakes. At any rate, there is no way you could tell from my low-quality phone pic, but I know it was bait anyway.

Not the other guy but there's an easy way to tell: look at the black frame separating the frame of the card from the white border. It should be a well-defined, solid line. If it's fuzzy or the rosette/dot pattern is part of it, it's a fake.
>>

I'll keep that in mind, thanks. With the old cards there's such variability in print quality it can be hard to tell.

>>47147386
Despite what that that one ass clown said, none of my cards are fake under the closest scrutiny I could give. Incidentally, the upside down sleeves and mismatched art is precisely to trigger pepole who get unreasonably worked up about such things. It pleases me.

>>

DnT is a cheap deck by legacy standards, so expect it to be popular.

I'm a poorfag and I know burn sucks in Legacy, but I have a lot of the cards for it already in my pauper deck.

That and it seems to genuinely bother some people. They mention it multiple times in a match, get more fidgety than normal, egregiously misplay after pointing it out. horseshit swingy decks like MUD, Colorless Stax, Soldier/Werewolf/Mogg Stompy - only own complete 75 of Werewolf Stompy, need Wastelands for MUD, Karakas' for Soldier Stompy and Imperial Recruiters for Mogg Stompy in descending order of importance, colorless Stax needs a lot more unfortunately

slowly building towards Demon Stompy but I highly doubt I'll ever own a complete 75 of this because I have no interest in buying Lilys or Chains of Mephs and my interest in Magic is gradually waning

I'm firmly of the opinion that MUD is superior to Memedrazi Stompy

I'm trying to decide how to into legacy, what are you opinions on
-MUD
-Imperial Painter
-LED Dredge

Right now I'm leaning really heavily towards MUD.
>>
>>47151696
Just proxy first to see if you like how the deck plays, that way you won't regret buying into something you ultimately might not like as much as you thought you did.
>>
>>47151696
MUD is a pretty cool deck with a lot of interesting options. If you want to have a good deck for the current metagame, Painter might be the better choice. Dredge is always playable, but it can be pretty frustrating to see graveyard hate.

Playtest them on Cockatrice first. Legacy is about fun and practice, and if you don't enjoy the deck you shouldn't be playing it.
>>
>>47151837
I already took that step, and I'm having a great time with MUD. However, I'm also really enjoying Imperial Painter due to the nature of the combo; and LED Dredge is just so good.

Cant speak for everything, but I personally have always just loved the whole idea of the deck: making it harder or even impossible for your opponents to cast (not even resolve, but CAST) while not-so-slowly beating them down with a bunch of "underdog" creatures.
And after sideboarding, you can go full toolbox with enlightened tutor for any of a ton of relevant and sometimes game ending cards like

> Spirit of the Labyrinth, Ratchet Bomb, all the CoP, Ethersworn Canonist, Rest in Peace, Serenity, Grafdigger's Cage, Phyrexian Revoker, ect

All in all, its a fun deck that rewards players with knowledge of both the metagame and all of the many interactions in your own deck
>>
>>47148941
dnt is for contrarian faggot poorfags who don't actually even want to play legacy. they think they can build their sub 1k deck and win, but the secret is that dnt is actually shit and can't beat a competent player on a blue deck.

Is belcher doing well a reaction to the fair decks coming out more
>>
>>47162864
I think it's just getting good draws and opponents (and playing well) for a whole tournament. Belcher can always win a match, but have to be consistently lucky with your starting hand. Once in a while, it happens. Pretty sure there were enough decks with FoW around, but maybe Eldrazi did help to make them fewer.
What amazes me more is the 78 card Elfball deck in the BoM top8.
>>
>>47162864
usually yes. if more people start playing stuff like goblins, dnt etc. no counters or storm. and you can go off before they drop hate/thalia, counter spells etc etc. belcher can wreck in an unprepared meta. same with dredge once grave hate isnt being in the sides. (rare, but it happens)
>>
>>47163720
>78 card Elfball deck in the BoM top8.

>>47163890
http://www.bazaar-of-moxen.com/en/urlrw,40/main-legacy-decklists,c317.html?event=18&evt=18

Pretty interesting top 8 and meta, the BUG list played 4 Thing in the Ice and no goyfs.
>>
>>47163948
The European meta is usually pretty cool. I haven't looked at the storm decklists yet, but the grixis delver list that was first coming out of the swiss was really interesting. I don't like that it added a land and cut the only 3 drop, and the sideboard looked weird (envelop for card availability reasons maybe?)

I like that MD Decays don't leave you cold to chalice or counterbalance. I ran a bunch of games with this today, I think I like the flexibility in your chalice meta

4x Delver
4x Deathrite
3x Young Pyromancer
2x Gurmag Angler
1x Vendilion Clique

4x force
4x daze
2x spell pierce

4x brainstorm
4x ponder
3x gitaxian probe

4x bolt
2x decay
1x dismember

8x blue fetches
2x trop
2x volc
2x usea
4x wasteland

SB:
3 cabal therapy
2 surgical extraction
2 painful truths
1 abrupt decay
1 ancient grudge
1 invasive surgery
1 flusterstorm
1 grim lavamancer
1 forked bolt
1 pithing needle
1 pyroblast

Any ideas for the sideboard? Is Sylvan Library maybe just better than painful truths?
>>
>>47164041
I will definitely pack 1-2 MB Decays just because Chalice kills you otherwise.

I put one Echoing Truth in my board to sweep Empty the Warrens and Marit Lage. I love library, don't have it in my 75 but I'd prefer it to Painful Truths. But then I haven't really played Grixis Delver competitively yet. I want to try Jitte but I'm not sure if it's that useful.
>>
>>47164155
I've been on Grixis exclusively for a couple months. I don't think that equipment is the right direction for the deck. You don't run many threats, and the threats you do run don't need help. I also think Jitte seems very slow: I'd prefer a darkblast or a forked bolt in that slot.

I prefer to proactively stop ETW and Dark Depths. The BOM list had a loam in it, which I at the same time love and hate. The whole BOM list looked built specifically to fuck up eldrazi, miracles and Lands. I usually try to build more balanced sideboards, but I get it.

I also hate the 4th git probe. I think it's easily the worst card in the deck, so I'm trying to run business instead. So far, most of the time the second spell pierce has done a lot of work for me. Cutting the therapies from the main really cemented that for me as the right direction
>>
>>47164223
Will probably use Darkblast instead. I remember losing hard to Jitte on Pyromancer tokens, but I played Goblins and he was on Stoneblade (I think).

I'm using Stifle at the moment, but since I haven't really played a lot I couldn't say whether it's great or if Spell Pierce works better. Next week, I'll play Storm at MKM Frankfurt and hopefully get a good look at the meta for GP Prague.

I still have Therapies mainboard, but they might be bad against Eldrazi. Will probably swap them for the Decays and a Dismember.
>>

Dredge can wreck face even through hate though if the pilot knows what he's doing.

Any Miracles players here? How do you guys feel about the lists floating around that are jamming Nahiri and Emrakul? I tried it in a 4 round side event yesterday at GPNY and it felt kinda sweet, if not just a little clunky. It's definitely a house in the mirror, but I'm not sure if it's worth continued testing.
>>
>>47148941
I like the deck because it has decent matchups across the board, is skill testing, and Aether vial has got to be my favorite card ever.

>>47146669
I cut mangara from my 75 a long time ago. He was just too slow for me. I ended up running a mainboard councils in his place.
What do the other DnT players in here think of SoTL sideboard? Is it still worth running?

If you can tutor up a jitte it's great, but the card doesn't flip delver, is very mana intensive and does nothing on an empty board.

I'd probably run therapies in a combo heavy meta, but decays in a fair deck/chalice meta

My local stores only hold Legacy night with proxies allowed. No one really has the money for this shit. I'm wondering who exactly is buying expensive cards enough to warrent the costs. In real markets it's supply and demand, but I highly doubt that's the case with MTG cards.

>Even this shit thread has more posts than the Pauper thread.

JUST
>>
>>47171210
>but I highly doubt that's the case with MTG cards.

It's still the case, the important factors are that supply for a lot of cards is never going to increase, but demand hasn't stopped increasing yet.
>>
Today i learned a lesson playing enchantress: don't be too gredy or you can deck out yourself
Should i splash blue for laboratory maniac in case that happens again?
>>
>>47171387
No just don't deck yourself, remember if you play green sun's xenith you can cast it fail to find and always have at least one card in your library.
>>
>>47171210
There's a lot of demand for legacy cards relative to the supply. The market for them tends to be older people, so spending a couple hundred on some cards isn't a big deal, especially when they're collectable
>>
>>47171387
Just run Rip/Helm or Emrakul.

>>47180563
Is the green splash common nowadays? Not super familiar with the archetype.
Also, what are those tokens?
>>
>>47180578
>>47180563
All lists have at least 1 trop. The most common list runs only 1 trop, then no green spells except maybe one Decay off the board.

Lists with 2 trops and more Decays in the main started getting prevalent when Eldrazi took off. The deck is a bit soft to a Counterbalance and Chalice 1, so having a maindeck way to remove them is good.

The tradeoff is that the deck is less good against combo decks, theres no more room for maindeck Cabal therapy.

The decks really fun to run, and has good game against everything except lands. Its possible to win, but its an uphill battle.
>>
>>47180578

>>47181262
Legends miracles is most definitely worse than regular miracles but I like playing with flash creatures and reusing their effects with karakas. It's more fun to me. Besides my "meta" consists of 3-4 decks.
