Are you ready for the triumphant return of Warhammer Quest?

>inb4 aos a shit

Dat black warrior priest...
>>
One of those characters is not like the others...
Hint it's the fucking Stormcast.
>>
>>47121419
Sorry, all I saw in your post was "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
>>
>>47121400
aos shit, definitely not getting it.
>>
Though I would like to own this game, I must vote with my wallet. I will not support anything that is related to Age of Sigmar. If you disagree with Games Workshops decisions, I encourage you to abstain as well. Or at least wait and buy it used.
>>
>>47121430
>shitposting in your own thread

AoS fans, ladies and gentleman.
>>
I guess the sigmarine is taking the place of the chaos warrior?

I'll wait until I see what the game itself looks like, but I'll probably pass on it. Tzaangors look pretty cool tho.
>>
>>47121534
The sigmarine is one of the heroes, and the enemies in the silver tower will mostly be tzeentchian. Daemons and mortal followers and the like. From rumours we are told that there is a sigmarine figure, but it's not all sigmarines vs tzeentch. There are other hero figures.
>>
>>47121400
Looks kinda gay.

I have no interest in AoS so I doubt I'll get it.
It's like the 40k 'games' they've been realeasing. The games themselves are pretty shit and people only buy them for the "Discounted" or "Special" models like DW marines/genestealer cultists/cheaper 2 knights.

No one bought the scout game for example because who gives a fuck about scouts? It's certainly not to actually play these fuck awful games.
>>
>>47121662
>The sigmarine is one of the heroes
Yes I can tell that. And in Warhammer Quest one of the heroes was a Chaos Warrior.

>There are other hero figures.
In that image they've got the Barbarian, Slayer and Warrior Priest. Chaos Warrior would be a close fit, considering they're basically sigmarines, stat-wise.

All this salt, all this delicious delicious salt
>>
>>47121780
Well it makes sense in the story that a chaos warrior isn't one of the heroes because the factions are much more polarized now.
>>
>>47122074
That and they're fighting chaos in the core box.

In older quests you were usually questing against necromancers or orcs. Though a rival champion attempting to go against another warband is perfectly sensible, lore-wise.

I dunno. I hope they have a wizard and elf in there too. Because warhammer quest without a wizard and elf is no quest at all.
>>
>>47122143
It looks like you only get the 4 heroes?

Pitfighter, Priest, FYRESLAYER™ and SIGMARINE™
>>
>>47122284
Hard to say for sure, it's only the cover art we're seeing.

I dunno. I'll wait and see. Might pick up individual models to paint if they're good.
>>
>>47122380
I would probably just get the scans of the books and make my own 2.5d tiles and use our own minis. I'm looking forward to it. I've been following the story of aos and I like it.
>>
>After flying through space and time, our heroes venture not into a boring old dungeon but a glittering impossible silver tower of Tzeentch
>Afterwards instead of a gruelling three week journey back to the mid sized town and to the ale house you head back to the nearest Sigmarine Space Station manned by Star Dragons...

fucking weird, does not fit.

why did you cunts not remake Warhammer Quest before the end of fantasy, you'd have made a fucking fortune
>>
My buddy loves Warhammer quest, has spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours basically painting and collecting every model you could ever need from level 1-10 in the game, so that could be 3 Snotlings at level 1 or at level 10... 20 Chaos Dwarfs, 1 Sorcerer on Disk of Tzeentch and a Bloodthirster

He just finds this bemusing, why even call it Warhammer Quest?
>>
>>47122694
What was the 40k equivalent to Warhammer quest? Space Hulk?
>>
>>47122760

>What was the 40k equivalent to Warhammer quest? Space Hulk?

There wasn't, nothing ever came close to Warhammer Quest, it was such a brilliant thing and it came at a time where GW felt like it was at a height of it's pro hobby agenda, many many expansion articles in White Dwarf, fan submitted characters, expansions, adventures in Citadel Journal.

Warhammer Quest was so good it doesn't even feel like a GW product.
>>
>>47122729
>why even call it Warhammer Quest?

Because it is Warhammer Quest?
>>
So is warhammer quest, the card adventure game, a good deal?
I know it has only 4 different hero's as of right now, but it seems pretty cool, not like old Warhamer Quest, but still Old World stuff.
>>
>>47123327
nope
>>
>>47124509
It's warhammer, it's a quest. It's Warhammer Quest.
>>
>>47123369
It's okay. I find the campaign part a bit lacking but the gameplay is fun for now. Can't see it lasting long though.
>>
>>47122760
It was the rebranded version of Advanced Hero Quest, except even better and well supported in CJ and so on.

AoS is warhammer, no matter how much in denial you fags are, this is warhammer. Deal with it.

Not OP, bro. That post was my first in the thread. Nice try.
>>

I just wish they would stop with the fucking camera shaking.

Way to rise above it, faget.

@OP: I'm going to withhold judgement on WHQ until I see more.

>triumphant return
Are you ready for the undwerhelming sales figures for a box game aimed at drawing back lost players with nostalgia, despite changing the game into something that those same players despise because you're using the same setting that you made from the mangled remains of their beloved pet dog?
>>
>>47128852
Are you ready to be wrong?
>>
>>47131032

I'd say most of us hope we're wrong. But we're not counting on it.
>>
Considering the current game designers at GW(FW is still good though), I don't see how this is triumphant at all. Descent exists at least.
>>
>>47132853
Isn't Forge World in charge of the specialist games now? I mean didn't they merge with Gamesworkshop and all that.
>>
>>47132899
The board games are still made by GW. The new Blood Bowl will be done by Forgeworld of course, and I am looking forward to that.
>>
>>47131056

Yeah this is where I stand. I just love too many Warhammer Fantasy factions which simply don't exist in AoS.

The stalwart Soldier of the Empire, the questing Bretonnian Knight, Witch Hunters, Halfling thief, Ogre Mercenary.
When you cut out so much when does it stop being Warhammer Quest?

I wonder why
>>
>>47122284
>It looks like you only get the 4 heroes?
You only have 4 in the old game too. You could get additional heroes as "expansion packs" later, but these days those are even more rare than the core game.
>>
>>47133157

GW marketing dept doesn't like dissenting opinions. Also interesting how they wait a mere 2 weeks before release to start advertising/hyping.
>>
>>47133182

I'm ashamed to say what I paid for some of the old Warhammer character packs on eBay. Nearly $100 USD in some cases.

I'm a rabid WHQ fanatic but I am torn on supporting this. I have no interest in Age of Sigmar and bolting "Warhammer Quest" onto a product doesn't mean it is in fact a true successor. I feel they are just looking to cash in on nostalgia and the WHQ brand and fan base. It would have been more honest to call it AoS Quest.

>Lost Patrol
>Literally from the 80s
You are a certified fucking retard
>>
>>47133243

Lost patrol came out in early 2000s IIRC it had a very small print run and I don't know if it even made it to US market. I only knew about it because Jake Thirton designed it and I read his blog.

It's Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
Should older Warhammer Quest be forced to be called Fantasy Battle Quest?
>>
>>47133298

No because WFB is the true orginal setting and AoS is a shitty corporate reboot that destroyed a setting I dearly loved for 20+ years
>>
>>47133463
Right, so Warhammer Quest is appropriate for both.
>>
>>47122035
>AoS is flopping hard
>it was a huge blunder
>GW is in desperate damage control

>ahaha salt! Im happy no one is buying a product I like.

This is Age of Sigmar failing you fucking retard. Its so hated, even a rehash of Warhammer Quest isnt going to reach its potential, because its linked to AoS.

>GW trying to force it down our throats by attaching it to a beloved piece of nostalgia - still wont work.
>>
>>47133588

Thank you for this post anon you have given me the strength to not buy Age of Sigmar quest. I will give no aid or succor to a Games Workshop that destroyed the Old World and 30+ years of my favorite game setting.
>>
>>47122035

What GW store do you work at you red shirted shill?
>>
>>47133688
Why are Fantasyfags so melodramatic?
>>
>>47133108
When they stop using the warhammer setting.

You know. July 4 2015.
>>
>>47121400
Just to make sue we get a nice and high HATE ratio.

>AoS
>Even once

HAHA!! Get fucked.
>>
For fucks sake, GW's been getting better since Kirby left, the new CEO is trying. Give them a goddamn break. It looks cool and they're trying something different, I'm getting it for the birdmen alone.
>>
>>47121400

There is already a thead for this you dumb mong.

The schilling is real.
>>
>>47133770
You cant deny back to back identical (khorne taboot) dubs. AoS is officially doomed.
>>
>>47135637
The new CEO was appointed on Jan 1st 2015. Plans that are in motion don't get stopped until they're done/ fail. AoS was almost certainly Kirby's idea. Depending on how long it takes for them to plan things, I'd say it'd be between 1-2 years before the new CEO's influence is felt and lo and behold, 1-2 years later GW is listening to the community again, offering discounts and releasing cool models.
>>
>>47121400

This is going to underperform so hard due to the Sigmarine, duardin, AoS shite. The best move GW could make right now would be to cut their losses, restart WHFB, and apologize.
>>
>>47135710
>Because relaunching WHFB will get new players to start.

They needed something like AoS with easy rules for new people to buy a box of infantry and start playing immediately without spending $50 on a rules book, $25 on an army book $50 on some infantry and then being told they need another 3 boxes of infantry and a hero to even start playing.

I feel like they should have at least kept WHFB alive and had AoS as an introduction to the setting, but WHFB wasn't selling and the barrier to entry was ridiculously high.
>>
>>47135748
The barrier to entry is still ridiculously high. Who the fuck is gonna shell out 90 dollars for 3 models to setting they aren't invested in?
>>
>>47135799
>The barrier to entry is still ridiculously high. Who the fuck is gonna shell out 90 dollars for 3 models to setting they aren't invested in?

Disclaimer : don't like AoS, but that's patently false. For 90 dollars I can buy a full start collecting force which gives me a whole bunch of models, a leader and a big centerpiece model generally. For 35 dollars I can get a reasonable unit of things like Skinks.

To play AoS the start collecting force is all I need. The BRB is not only really long and has a whole bunch of stuff to remember and learn before you even start playing, you need at least as many models.

As for the setting, newcomers aren't invested in any setting before they start playing unless they played the vidya or whatever. WHFB had an absurd barrier to entry, not helped by the fact that the people who played it -at least at my store- tended to be WAAC fags who refused to play games under 2000 points.
