Have you ever subdued someone for trying to disrupt an ongoing game?
>>
No. This is one of the last hobbies that would require someone getting restrained.
>>
>>47115462

You've never played monopoly with real money then?
>>
>>47115536
Why the hell would you play Monopoly with real money?
>>
>>47115583

To settle a dispute.
I know..I know, not the best idea, but we were drinking.
>>
>>47115615
Then stop drinking and play poker instead of Monopoly.
>>
>>47115583
Dumb asses do this.

Same way dumb friends play poker night with REAL money.

No kids, real adults don't play poker night after spending an entire week or two getting their pay together. That is how you lose friends. Never include money in friendship.
>>
>>47115615
>I know, not the best idea, but we were drinking.

Children aren't allowed to drink, though.

>GET THIS MOTHERFUCKER
>>
>>47115665
This.
All my friends and I are early twenties college students with very little money to throw around, and we're all still a little bitter about that one night that friend X convinced us we should get drunk and play poker with cash.
>>
>>47115665
What the fuck are you on about? Me and my friends do poker night once a month and we always play real money And we have never had any problems.
>>
>>47115665
Actually they do play for real money, it is you turbo autists that are not invited no matter how old you get. You never matured despite reaching your age.

You are the same type of autists that cry and get verbally abusive over games like Jenga or Munchkin.

Once had a friends wife start some shit over Munchkin, go figure she alienated all of her husbands friends in the state and now they are moving back to their shitty little hick town back east.

>massive projection: the movie: the post
>>
>>47115665
Real adults do do that, though. There are tons of people too stupid to accept that friends who want to stay friends don't talk about sex, money, religion, or politics.

>inb4 but that's all the good stuff
>>
>>47116369
Listen, I'm not him, but I'm the guy above him. In a group of adults, as long as everyone plays fair and does it to have fun, it will not be a problem.

We generally play a 500 dollar game once a month, and we never had infighting or other problems. Now, is is probably because of close bonds more than anything else, but we even used to do this is college when we couldn't spare the money. Also if you don't have friends you can't have a civil discussion on politics with, you don't have good enough friends.
>>
>>47115327
Thats against the law and if the instigator wants to, he can press charges. Unless he was in the process of physically assaulting you or someone else, you cant touch him.

My Costco learned this the hard way when our loss prevention guy detained a shoplifter that went apeshit when he got caught. Loss prevention guy got fired for stopping the shoplifters destructive rampage, and rumor has it the shoplifter got paid.

Samefag:

So if any of you anons get caught shoplifting, just walk right out of the store. They cant touch you, or prevent you from leaving the store in any way without breaking the law. So just keep your cool, and gtfo before the police arrive. If they touch you or detain you - get paid.
>>
>>47115665

The fuck are you on about? You just play for low stakes (like ten or twenty bucks) and it's fine. Poker with absolutely no money on the line just sounds unimaginably dull.

You're really grasping to get that from that post.

I was replying to someone who asserted that "real adults" don't mix friends and money. That was an incorrect generalization, my post was just me telling him that people actually do that.

I don't care what you and your friends do for fun, but saying that the inclusion of money into a game, especially when it's a poker game among friends, will cause things to go badly is projecting to the highest degree.

There's no strategy in a gambling game with no money. You may as well just have everyone take turns rolling dice and declare the highest roll the winner of the night.

'sperg rage is a thing, does not happen frequently but it's not outside of the realm of possibility.

About the pic

Three very brave University of Nebraska Omaha students are being hailed for basically saving the lives of other college kids cramming for finals in the campus library.

On Wednesday morning, Leo Labogen, 20, was talking loudly on his cell phone in Criss Library when Brandon Valle, 30, asked him to continue the conversation outside, WOWT 6 News reports. At this request, Labogen allegedly pulled a knife out and threatened Valle with it.

“He told me he was going to hurt me in some physical way,” Valle told WOWT 6. “He started cussing a lot more and then become aggressive.”

The altercation escalated even more when Labogen allegedly threatened to hurt other students in the library, too. Valle, who has over a decade of military and ROTC experience, and two more courageous students acted quickly.

Three students at UNOmaha subdue another student after he pulls out a knife in the school library.
Micah Peterson and another student reportedly joined Valle and tackled Labogen to the ground, as the photo above shows, wrestling the knife away from him and holding him down until campus security and the Omaha police arrived shortly after.

Cops say they found a total of three knives on Labogen. He was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with attempted felony assault and three counts of carrying a concealed weapon.

Following the incident, UNO officials sent an email to the student body informing them of the situation. Campus counseling services were immediately available to all those affected, including those who were in the library at the time.

“Anyone else in my position would have done the same thing,” Peterson told WOWT 6. Watch their full news report below:

That's like saying any game has no stakes of you aren't putting real money in it. Why play a game if you don't plan on winning?

Better check up on your state laws, bucko: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizen%27s_arrest_in_the_United_States#Shopkeepers.27_.28Merchants.27.29_privilege

What's good in one state might get you your ass kicked in another.

Yes lots of times. Work in a psychiatric unit for children sometimes plays out that way.
>>
>>47118471
Would you say your work influences your opinion on having a child of your own (eventually) in some way?
>>
>>47118213
Thats good advice anon. My experience took place in Arizona. Its not uncommon for people to walk right out of circle K's with beer or food here because you arent allowed to stop them. In the low income areas you see security guards/off duty cops and sometimes even on duty cops posted outside these places.

Who the fuck needs THREE knives on them?

One is more than suitable for EDC.

Anon either you are a piece of shit, or your friends are pieces of shit. I'm fucking barely an adult and the idea that someone could sperg out over losing is mind blowing to me.

Edgy assholes, basically.

I mean there is actually a legitimate argument for carrying *two* guns, but *three knives?* I don't even.

Really?

It's good practice to keep one on each side of your body. As for a third knife, many people carry a multi-tool with a knife.

I never got subdued during a game, but I knocked a fucker out who was at the game once because he refused to leave after being told to 3 times. He was making the group not feel safe and put his hands on me with I got up to escort him out. Cops came, they heard the story and he was taken by them. Never heard from him sense.

Messer as backup for your sword.
Big chopper knife in case you lost your messer.
Utility knife.
A few throwing knives just in case.
Some people may insist you need separate anti-armor dagger.

Every game has a stake or a point to it. Where most games are just a board game with set objectives (some are just family fun others are more story driven etc) there is a point to them.

TCG's, like Magic, are made with the idea of you using your own brain and thought to construct your own type of deck and putting it out into the field, your objective is to win and prove that your deck can best others (for the most part anyway, unless you like Troll-EDH or something).

Poker? Is a game of stakes and bluff. Which is why the money is an important aspect. It is a betting card game. If you take away the BETTING aspect from a betting game, it no longer becomes the game it is and is just people with cards doing random shit for no reason.

The stakes and the bets are what make Poker, Poker. The cards are a mandatory supplement.
