Nah.
>>
Completely fine. Hanging around high society and politicking is basically her job.
>>
>>47112834

Not exactly her style, but given that she's been recently told that having good culture is a sign of strength, she manages when looking at it from that light. Her etiquette is spotty, but she's charming enough to offset it anyway.

She never had a weapon to start with, so no issue there.
>>
>>47113332

"Ohohoho~ Simply magnificent, my dear~"

I possibly play it a little too much, but the playful noble(wo)man is such a fun archetype to play. It's a really interesting roleplaying challenge as well, balancing that degree of confidence/arrogance (which in a fantastical setting can often mean belief in a literal divine right to rule) with a degree of responsibility, a sense of duty and a drive to protect the world. Not out of any selfless drive towards good, but because it is Their world, and they are not about to let some two bit villain do harm to their property.

I will not deny that the character I was referencing is a 16 year old warrior woman who has been exiled from her home only to find a new home where she quickly attended the local equivalent position of police sergeant. Shortly after all sorts of terrible things started going down, mostly due to cultists practicing blood magic, and she was told to deal with it on top of having to look after a number of influential guests including another PC who was a bumbling spellcaster who hadn't left his home before and was just a pile of adorkable that she just instantly mothered the crap out of.
Poor girl is a big twisted mass of stress, hormones, conflicting instincts and violence.

That's about the right level of adorkable.
Oh I forgot to add that this guy ended up at the mercy of a frighteningly powerful water spirit that offered him power at a price, that he accepted. He lost his eyes in exchange for void magics.
So now he's blind and unable to write letters on his own and trusts my character to help him out. The mothering and well intentioned fussing was off the charts.

Anon, please. Why else do you think she chose the biggest, poofiest dress she could find.
It-it's not because I think it's cute! It just... offers tactical concealment, you idiot!
>>
>>47112834
>Your female (or close enough) character
I don't think any of them count as 'close enough'.
>>
>>47112834
She hates it! She's really tomboyish, and ever since she lost her arm she's been forced to prove she's tough and can keep up with everyone else despite the obvious handicap. She doesn't want to be all primed up and fancy and be called cute.

The only really positive point is that, being from nobility, she'd actually know how to act at a gala and could at least pass for proper elite for the evening - even if she'd glare at anyone who'd ask her to dance.
>>
>>47112834
My character is already established as wearing fancy, expensive clothing and being quite vain. Her clothing is more expensive than the actual noble in the party.
She's already done the whole "fancy party with pretty dress" thing in one session, going so far as turning up with a silk bow on her tail (she's a tiefling).
She'll fare pretty well, I think.
>>
>>47114906
>silk bow on her tail

I don't know why, but that just sounds adorable.
>>
>>47114920
It was pretty adorable. It lasted about half an hour until an invisible assassin tried to kill the king she ended up using the bow to bandage the king's wounds.
Bonus though, it meant she got to show off by leading a band of knights to raid the assassin's hide-out, while still wearing her gown.
>>
>>47112834
>poofy gown
A knee-long super frilly skirt is ok, right?

>Tight corset
Standard attire is an armoured steampunk corset that she has spent a whole day dutifully removing or painting over the cogs because her teammates told her "steampunk was the worst fashion".
>no weapons
It's OK if they're concealed, right? They're only machine pistols in concealed holsters. No?

Well, force 18 stunballs are perfectly ok, too, I guess.

>stylish and makeup
Always.

The loli dryad mage is probably more at home than gunning down Corp security anyway.
>>
>>47112834
She really wouldn't go for it, her culture isn't one where dresses like that are common and she's not very fond of the idea of wearing them. She would much rather just put on a tuxedo and pass herself off as a fairly androgynous man if she ever for whatever reason had to attend a party like that and leave the dress wearing to the person in the group that does actually wear things like that.
>>
>>47112834
>Absolutely no armor or weapons
It's a dull affair if it doesn't necessitate at least one use of a disruptor pistol.

Hit up the buffet and drinks, find a secluded corner where no one will ask me to dance, then plot revenge on whoever signed me up for this.

Then don't get caught. Everyone's probably carrying, everyone probably knows that everyone's probably carrying, and no one wants to ruin a good thing by being caught carrying.
>>
>>47115388
Why carry if you know it would ruin a good thing? If no one else is carrying and this is an event of peace, you probably won't have to worry about being attacked.

Seriously, what if no one else was carrying weapons? That would make it look horrible if someone realizes you have a blade.
>>
>>47112834
How she does is VERY mixed.

On the one hand, she is good at dancing, slender enough for the corset to not be a problem and has fantastic hair.
On the other hand, she is huge and scary looking and has utterly no understanding of how to act in high culture.

Plus, she doesn't feel comfortable when unarmed these days.

Peace doesn't help you fight off an assassin or five anon, that's what holdout weapons are for. And can you imagine the loss of respect if someone found out you weren't carrying? After stopping at the nearby boutique and being pampered and dressed by her former bully, she shows up looking spectacularly cute with her freshly groomed arcanaloth tail and her frilly new dress. Her interiors flock to her and scramble for her attention or stew in jealousy, but the wiser and more powerful yugoloths can see through her facade. They see a precocious, young yugoloth who is so naive, whose methods are gentle and inefficient, and whose ambitions are so petty and low that she is unworthy of their attention. Could that be what she wants them to think?
>>
>>47112834
Wouldn't a world were adventurers and especially female adventurers have specific fashions for just this sort of thing? Like, why bother with the uniform of the aristocracy when there could be an adventurer inspired formal fashion, synergizing wealth, aesthetics, and adventuring practicality? Why stilettos and not classy riding boots?

Poorly. She has never worn any of those things and she does not like to parted from her Vibrosword.

Whatever we needed to attend the gala for, we'll will have to find another way.
>>
>Your female (or close enough) character must attend the super-fancy gala
My 8-foot-tall half-giant barbarian woman does not like the sound of this.

>Fabulous poofy gown is mandatory, with petticoats or hoopskirt if need be
No, it is not mandatory. She's going to be the strongest and most dangerous person in the building. If she says it's not mandatory, it's not mandatory. It's tunic or nothing. And she'd honestly have no compunctions about going naked, because...

>Get that waist in a tight corset
...Her torso is shaped like a brick, and is only slightly less yielding. It would take an industrial vice to give her an hourglass-figure, and materials beyond the ken of man to keep her that way.

>Comfy shoes? Nope, has to be really high stiletto heels
She weighs half a ton and has feet the size of spades. Even if you could find shoes that fit her, with heels that didn't just crumple instantly under her weight, she'd probably obliterate any floor she tried to walk on.

>Absolutely no armor or weapons
She once kicked a horse to death. She once caved a man's skull in with a head-butt. She once broke one of her party-member's arms by accident. Her entire body is a deadly weapon. Going by the rules, she shouldn't even be allowed in the building.

>Hair has to be stylish, face has to be dolled up with makeup
She looks like the bastard lovechild of Furiosa and B.J. Blazkowicz. She wears a mask and a hood for a reason.

>How does she fare?
These rich fuckers hired her to kill a dragon, not stand around simpering over canapes. She'd probably get stopped at the front door, decide "screw it, I'm not being paid for this shit", and go have a piss-up in the nearest tavern.
>>
>>47117819
True. This is also covered in some fiction I've read. It's basically the equivalent of a soldier wearing their dress uniform to a fancy do. Totally acceptable by virtue of it being the equivalent to a fancy dress/tuxedo: something beyond merely practical wear. Sometimes it just turns out that your military dress uniform is a bear pelt.

However, bear in mind the following: >>47118134
>>
>>47112834
I have a character who would be delighted- at first.
Then she would remember that she's a commoner by birth and only managed to get away with faux pas and snide insinuations at the singular gala she's ever been at because the wine was good and people were willing to let the mistakes of an actress slide.
So she would be horrified out of her half-elf mind unless she had an escort, who she would spend the night trying to impress or trying not to offend.
Also, she 'hates' nobility on principle, but loves their wealth and all of that delicious food she never got a chance to eat when she herself was a servant.
Especially cake.

For women it might be the most formal occasion they've ever attended. For men, it might be the most humiliating experience in their entire life. For him, it was Tuesday.

He does not give a shit. He already is an absurd bishounen who dresses up in female robes in cultures where women are put on pedestals and sheltered, pretending to be one to deceive others and exploit their sense of white knighthood. He doesn't think of himself as a woman, ot's simply a matter of pragmatism - everyone lets their guards down around a dainty, pretty woman with lots of money who acts majestic, but perhaps a tad clueless. It's just too exploitable to pass up. Of course, in social venues where it's more advantageous to do so, he dresses like a man. Anything to get leverage. Nothing else matters. Things like honor and dignity mean nothing when you're making money.

>hoopskirt

You're making it easy! He can move his legs around more like that!

>really high stiletto heels

Maximum dexfag.

>Absolutely no armor or weapons

Too squishy to use those anyway. Plus, fighting style relies on being unarmed.

>>
>>47112834
Most of my characters are female, though.

Gonna go with some of the more recent ones.

My current is an overworked, chainsmoking, Japanese office worker who mostly keeps herself sane with her model building hobby. She'd love having a break like that and being at party and she knows how to be polite at least. She'd probably handle herself okay except for some cultural fuck ups (and possibly language?).

My dwarven sailor/paladin would be super out of her element and doesn't really have any manners, so she'd fuck it up like she fucks up everything.

My exiled princess would naturally be at home.

My security guard ghost would just look like a floating dress since she's invisible to most people. She'd freak everybody out and ruin the gala. However, she'd enjoy herself immensely.

I have a fairly high ranking military engineer who is fairly used to this kind of thing, albeit in a sci fi setting. She'd be bored out of her skull and try to find excuses to leave, but she'd do fine because this is all routine to her.

Perfectly. She spent most of last session visiting an upclass tailor with one of her servants to browse for some new threads. Ended up purchasing a spider-silk white summer dress with gold accents for general wear, and a more poofy dress with coat spun from unicorn hair and gryphon down fur.

While they're being made, she managed to convince the tailor to allow her to have one of his dresses at no cost too as she will show it about town and to events in the mean time, ending up with an interesting red and gold dress from the orient.

>Your female (or close enough) character must attend the super-fancy gala
Human Summoner is ok with this. It's just like those formal parties in the military, right?
>Fabulous poofy gown is mandatory, with petticoats or hoopskirt if need be
fuck no. She could handle wearing her dress uniform easily, can't handle this. Has to be forced into it against her will.
>Get that waist in a tight corset
She begins considering suicide at about this point. Has to be forced on, she's probably kicking, screaming and crying about torture. Relevant is the fact that she flayed somebody alive and thought it was fine, she legitimately thinks this is worse.
>Comfy shoes? Nope, has to be really high stiletto heels.
She complains about her feet being crushed, how impractical they are and probably trips a lot. Naturally, they have to be forced on.
>Absolutely no armor or weapons
Assuming this includes her Eidolon, she's definitely gone into shock at this point. Her Eidolon is the only thing that keeps her mentally stable. If not, then she'll be greatly discomforted but this is reasonable.
>Hair has to be stylish, face has to be dolled up with makeup
She hates it. Makeup has to be applied by someone else and she doesn't know what to do with her hair, it's fairly short.
once she's actually at the event, she's either acting like she's in withdrawal from every drug at once and failing every basic tenet of social interaction if her Eidolon is banned, or merely flubbing half of her interactions. There are far better choices for this sort of thing, but she might be able to manage.
She's got two sisters being run in different campaigns, same world so maybe I'll do them in a bit.
>>
>>47112834
Honestly; not great and if it's the entire party the gala is going to be a catastrophe with half or so an unwashed elf, a dwarf who would at best call such jubilation insolent decadence and another elf who would inevitably butt-duck the prince. This is all of course after my own character has given what mandi to rite niceties he had to before sneaking off into the back room, then chatting up, getting drunk with and plowing a servant girl.
>>
>>47112834
Punched out a noble, incarcerated for three days.
>>
>>47122999
That depends, what's an Eidolon?
>>
>>47112834
Huddles in the corner and projects the illusion of a dashing young man as a proxy for herself.

But this is modus operandi anyway for the fugly half-fae with bloodshot eyes, teeth like a broken bottle and limbs with too many joints. You can throw all the poofy gowns and makeup you like on that, it ain't ever going to be pretty.
>>
>>47123384
Eidolons are personal summons for a summoner. They're the main class feature for a summoner and scale very well, serving to give the party extra skill ranks and an extra body in combat. Mine is a pearly blue-white orb the size of a person. They're probably banned since they are the summoner's standard "weapon". Generally, I assume that "if the druid can't bring their companion, I can't bring my eidolon".

>>47122999
Anyway, I'll do character 2 now.
>Your female (or close enough) character must attend the super-fancy gala
(adopted) Kitsune Bard gets overexcited. She loves this sort of thing.
>Fabulous poofy gown is mandatory, with petticoats or hoopskirt if need be
That's more or less her default outfit. She comes in Kimono, Shrine maiden, or poofiest dress ever. Whatever the dress code, she can figure it out. She's more bothered by dressing down than up, actually.
>Get that waist in a tight corset
She expected this. She dislikes how restrictive it feels, but can deal with it.
>Comfy shoes? Nope, has to be really high stiletto heels.
No problem, though she'd opt for geta if she was dressing eastern.
>Absolutely no armor or weapons
She'll be fine, Armor and weapons are a formality anyway. Though she'll probably have to leave her sweets at home, since those are basically poison to humans and bringing poison for even a single race is probably a faux pas.
>Hair has to be stylish, face has to be dolled up with makeup
She might do a ponytail, but more likely to go for her normal style and just wear hair decorations. ribbon around her ear and such. She's handy with makeup so that's fine.
Once at the event, she's likely to forget whatever she's there for without the party to remind her. Depending on the talent of any musicians present, she might insist on performing herself, and she's got an easy time dealing with proper mannerisms. Unsurprisingly, the bard is good at parties.
>>
>>47121069
What's wrong with noblelady outfits?
>>
>>47112834
The last female character I played was a Mandalorian archaeologist. She wouldn't complain, but I don't think there's enough makeup in the Galaxy to cover up her facial scars.

SKREEEEEEEEEEE. Skreawk Awk Awk AWWWK SKReeeeee.

Hisssssssssss. *Headbob* Skree. *Frill flare*.

Hiss.

*Ahem* Lady Esmerelda is offended you would even imply that she is ever anything less than fully prepared for a gala event. And that the only weapons she needs is the tact to refrain from pointing out that while wide belts do tend to emphasize what little figure the gods originally blessed you with, your designer should perhaps be informed that times and your body have moved on since you last had your squalling brood and maybe instead of focusing on a series of ever more sturdy reinforcements for your corset you might instead look into staying away from the buffet.

Well, that and her maw of razor sharp teeth which she will be pleased to have you note many gentlemen have already commented on their size and polish tonight.

The two options are mildly androgynous, Jack Sparrow-esque jerkass intermediate summoner or a woman literally raised on the battlefield.

Summoner would probably not care, and opt to summon something to take his place. Regardless of whether it's intelligent, beautiful/cute or even humanoid enough to pass for him. Actually, being the exact opposite of what he looks like would probably make him laugh his arse off.

If he was forced to attend personally...probably not, his balance is only good in a pinch, and he'd just sprain his ankles trying to walk in stilettoes. Could probably pull off the corset and the dress, although he'd wear the corset on the outside as a fashion statement. No hourglass figure though, he'd specificly ask for a corset with a string just long anought to tie the corset loosely.

And he wouldn't let go of his summoning tome. Who needs weapons when you can summon a stampede of odd, yellow running birds to trample your foes?

Berserker/Knight Lady of war would accept the invitation...wearing her only dress - a fine barmaid uniform tricked out with sea mine-style pauldrons and plate woven into the folds, She'd style her hair...for the explicit purpose of hiding fisticuffs and a looped knife into her new braid.

As for makeup, both can pass for women in makeup without really trying. Both would also probably circumvent the rules by sawing off the stiletto heel and widening the fabric, turning the heels into mostly flat bottom patent shoes.

She is the entertainment or in the band for the ball.
She is a future pop star.
Who recently discovered she was kidnapped by hostile aliens and replaced with a doppelganger AI body, the player is actually the AI with her complete memories up to the night she was kidnapped, and whatever memories the AI made afterward. Her real body is held up on an alien space station, and she will be forced to make decisions at the end of the campaign.
The aliens did this so they could compel her to assassinate someone at the gala. She might be able to override the impulse if she spends enough XP to buy her way out of her Dark Secret by the time the gala happen, she already bought her way to even being aware she is an AI.

Anyway, she'd do fucking great, she lives for this job, she's a hit in a dozen solar systems, and a legendary beauty
She'd do great even if SHTF. She controls electronics, a nanite swarm, and a set of hologram emitters.

I swear she's not OP in her setting.

She's lugged ceremonial armor across half a continent, she's pleased to have the opportunity to use it, even if it's just repurposed with bustle and hoop to give the impression of corset use on a woman who's waist is too heavily muscled to be constrained , providing the illusion that her broad shouldered, broad hipped figure is merely outsized, but still womanly.

She's been out of heels for about a year, but she's been trained to be graceful in them, though she might try to substitute her sabotons, which have a 4 inch block heel, and sole suitable for dancing.

She'll check a sword and a pair of daggers with the doorman, but there's always hair pins and concealment holsters to consider.

>Your female (or close enough) character must attend the super-fancy gala
This wouldn't be too odd; despite being a lifelong soldier and battle medic, she did become an Earl rather recently, and is well on her way to becoming a Countess.
>Fabulous poofy gown is mandatory, with petticoats or hoopskirt if need be
It'd probably only be slightly more restrictive than the suit of plate armor she normally wears, but not much more gaudy either. It's always interesting when you have a dress with that much fabric on a woman of her stature though; that hoop must be pretty large by the time it touches the ground.
>Get that waist in a tight corset
It probably wouldn't be as uncomfortable as you might think, due to her half-elven frame being slightly more slender than her physique would suggest.
>Comfy shoes? Nope, has to be really high stiletto heels
Wouldn't be too much of a problem, she still has a little of that elven grace, but if they're really as high as suggested, she certainly wouldn't be running in them, considering she'd be pushing 7 feet with them on.
>Absolutely no armor or weapons
She's already been in similar situations before, considering that one time she was abducted from her room in the inn, and consequently had to spend a significant amount of time adventuring in nothing but her nightgown. Of course, being a battle cleric might help a little bit; that bugbear's insides still aren't right.
>Hair has to be stylish, face has to be dolled up with makeup
I think she'd actually enjoy getting dolled up; she doesn't often get the chance to wear makeup or do her hair, seeing how he face is usually in a sweaty metal bucket. Outwardly, I think she'd protest, but only to keep up appearances. Probably wear her gain in an elaborate braid, a little more complicated than the normal one that keeps her long hair shoved up inside her helmet.
>How does she fare?
I think it'd go pretty well, as long as her fiancé the Count would be there to instruct her on social etiquette.
>>
>>47112834

>Your female (or close enough) character must attend the super-fancy gala

Likely used to it, being a dilettante dwarven noblewoman.

>Fabulous poofy gown is mandatory, with petticoats or hoopskirt if need be

Not her preferred style, but likely has had to do it before.

>Get that waist in a tight corset

May be slightly peeved by this, but can put up with it.

>Comfy shoes? Nope, has to be really high stiletto heels

Given that a) she dresses less like an actual rogue and more like what she imagines a roguish heroine should look like and b) she's managed to fail every acrobatics check thus far to stay on her feet, stilettos are probably her normal footwear. She is not a sensible dwarf.

>Absolutely no armor or weapons

"Of course not! I'll just be wearing a few items of clockwork themed jewelery that most certainly aren't magical foci!"

>Hair has to be stylish, face has to be dolled up with makeup

Has prestidigitation specifically for the purpose of keeping her makeup done properly while in the wilderness.

She'll be fine.

This is great.

So about two sessions ago my party was invited to a gala event hosted by the king of a small but powerful trade nation and we went to find information on a possible cult led by a councilman to the same king. My character is super stoked, because they haven't been around polite society in months and this means a chance to visit one of the upscale boutiques on the family company's dime.

My character, being a mystic theruge, wears a raiment of purple and gold with a evening cloak of such deep indigo it nearly seems black, with metal thread sewn in to look like stars.

The spymaster, who easily slipped into character, was not prepared for the finery of a first hand powder blue ballgown with aquamarines sewn in and declared she would sell the dress after and send the money home after the night.

The monk wore a green kimono style set of clothes that wear designed to display the wearers physique and musculature and be reminiscent of the dinosaurs the monk's family raised.

The War Mage, wore a very gender ambiguous set of clothes that covered the whole body and included a traditional elven mask. The get up was white and black and equally told everyone around them, "I am an elegant member of the elven elite," and "I am a blaster caster in disguse, don't mess with me."

The best part is my character was the only male in the group and I loved every minute of making my party care about their outward appearance, both ic and ooc.

People didn't wear stiletto heels and "dolled up" makeup at the same time as petticoats, hoopskirts and poofy gowns. Immersion broken.

She will probably avoid attending if possible, because she hates all of that noise anyway.
>>
>>47112834
The whole gown is stuffed with more mad science than a nasa center.
The lace is bulletproof.
The higheels auto-adjust posture for easy walking.
The cute little purse is deminsional gateway hiding the giant robot.
>>
>>47112834
>no weapons
>implying you cannot hide fucking arsenal under those huge skirts.

>The higheels auto-adjust posture for easy walking.

That would look fucking awful.

My young elven arcanist is giddy with delight at the prospect, seeing as the party is usually traipsing around the world, fighting undead and other gross things. She takes particular delight in dressing up the half-orc fighter (who is too respectful slash intimidated to resist) and her faerie dragon familiar (who is a bloodthirsty little brute and fights her every step of the way). Banning her familiar from the event is a good way for the dinner hall to be suddenly and unexpectedly infested with celestial weasels, or something.

>Poofy clothes

Kimono and related slimmer clothes are more her jam, but she'll try anything once, and she'd probably squeal with delight during the whole shopping process.

>Tight corset

She's very slim so no problem there. You won't get an hourglass figure though because she's pretty flat.

>Heels

If she can walk in those idiotic platforms she can probably manage stilletos. With an emergency overland flight spell as backup if she gets tired.

>No armour and weapons

Fine, her longsword and bow haven't been used in months. Her spellbook is secreted away somewhere inside the folds of her dress, or maybe inside her elegantly stitched glove of holding.

>Hair has to be stylish

It always is, she takes good care of her flowing dark blonde hair. Although she'd enjoy the hair salon and would probably ask for something with curls.

>Make up

First sign of trouble here, she doesn't understand why the cleric is trying to put muck on her flawless elven face. She'll try to get away with using an illusion, but if the druid sees through it and dobs her in to the cleric my arcanist will unhappily acquiesce.

>How does she fare?

She's a learned individual from a noble family and is definitely one of the 5 smartest people in the room. She knows all the social niceties and which of the twenty forks to use. All of the guests and appropriate details have been memorised.

Problems occur if she gets snubbed or bored.

People also didn't wear plate armor in a time without firearms.

If they don't accentuate the ass, what's the point?

At least three people are sent to the hospital whilst trying to get her favourite knives off of her.

Another two are severely bitten whilst trying to get her into the dress.

The first poor sod who tries to get her to put the stilettos on without realising that stilettos have unfortunate knife like qualities will probably regret that life choice.

Around that point she will probably have tired herself out from burning strain like it's candy allowing the poor bastards who thought this was a good idea to finish securing dress and corset and duct taping shoes on to her feet so she can't use them as an offensive weapon.

Once she wakes up again the hair and make up won't be much of a problem by now she will definitely be wanting to make sure that she uses her experience in disguise to render her mostly unrecognisable. As she grew up in a brothel if she's told this is a fancy shindig then her make up is probably dialled up to Twi'lek whore.

No social skills other than black market negotiation but a passable raw charisma says that she probably doesn't get kicked out but things go badly.

Shove the most expensive looking steal-able object into the hidden storage in the R2 unit.

Eventually settle down into to trying to hustle anyone dumb enough to agree to play Hintaro with her.

Do whatever the hell mission the rebel alliance sent us here for.

End evening by threatening to kill the medic in her sleep if she took any pictures of this.

End result 4/10, why oh why did you send the semi-psychotic assassin who religiously believes that when you die you are judged based on you kill/death ratio and reincarnated accordingly to the force damned fancy party. This is an awful idea.

He casts an illusion on himself. The rest of the guests spend most of the night wondering why the tall pretty lady with the southern drawl is smoking like a damned chimney and turning down glasses of champagne for glasses of bourbon.

*glances at fellow party members - a minotaur; some old druid; a bald, blue-skinned alchemist lass; and a massive shield-bearing barbarian*

...Damn you, Lavernia.

Alright then.
>Your female (or close enough) character must attend the super-fancy gala
Shapeshifter, and the least offensive of the group to the guilded elite... not that anyone knew the first. Again, thanks Lavernia.

>Fabulous poofy gown is mandatory, with petticoats or hoopskirt if need be
>Get that waist in a tight corset
Still wondering how investigating strange cults stirring up Rakdos leads to fancy dress party, but fine. You're the boss. Better than a detainment sphere, which is STILL absurdly disproportionate for not being fool enough to fight against a spontaneous Rakdos rave. Don't think I haven't forgotten that.

>Comfy shoes? Nope, has to be really high stiletto heels
Okay, I've got the Dex for those... probably. Maybe a day or so to practice.

>Absolutely no armor or weapons
But surely you can't argue against some onyx jewelry? What am I saying, of course you can't. Your dime on those, by the way, and nothing worth less than 400gp apiece for those gems.

>Hair has to be stylish, face has to be dolled up with makeup
Under protest, and I'm doing it myself.

'Tis a sad day when the Golgari priest's the best option for sneaking into a party.

It wouldn't work. Her armor can't be removed or modified, since it is welded to her body. She could try to wear a dress over it, but that'd have the problem of being a massive piece of clothing. Being a >5m tall cyborg has its drawbacks. Pic related.
>>
>>47112834
For looks? If someone dresses her, she'll survive. Unfortunately she has lived most of her life as an orphan begger so her socializing and manners will be shit

Rakdos do entertainment for fancy parties all the time.

Completely fine.

Spellcasters don't need to dress practically.

Nah, feet themselves are gross. I do dig the whole barefoot closer-to-the-earth urchin aesthetic though. Does it count as footfagging if the whole package is more important to you than the feets themselves?

Alright so while unlikely at best she's one of the better choices from the group considering there's three flavors of murder children, a couple people who can't keep their cool and some of the rest can't talk their way out of a paper bag if confronted with certain situations.
>>Your female (or close enough) character must attend the super-fancy gala

Great a party! She's already thrown one for the fleet, this is just slightly more formal and she needs to dress for success instead of cooking.

>>Fabulous poofy gown is mandatory, with petticoats or hoopskirt if need be

Poofy gown is fine, no particular reason for or against them in normal life besides working.

>>Get that waist in a tight corset

Enh... I'm really not sure if a corset will even work considering she's 10k+ tons of steel, but she won't mind too much. Her figure is already pretty good anyway.
>>Comfy shoes? Nope, has to be really high stiletto heels

Can't be too much harder than those ridiculous propeller shoes. She has manuevering anyway.

>>Absolutely no armor or weapons

That's not going to work, at all. Her armor and weapons will probably be stowed and invisible, but if she needs to summon them in an emergency they'll be there in an instant.

>>Hair has to be stylish, face has to be dolled up with makeup

Not much to do makeup for but she takes it well enough, even if she doesn't particularly like being too dolled up.
