I giggle tiredly as Iris gently sets me down on on the single piece of original furniture in the room, a small, pinkish red couch with actual legs holding them up, birdlike ones that are a little larger than a normal person's foot. I nearly slip off the edge of the couch trying to get a look at our work, as my bat like owner wraps her wings around herself as her ears twitch.
Covering the room, are various creations of our shared magic, which we had some great fun making, but all the works has left me a little...famished actually. I bite down on my tongue as it lashes out of my lips as a grin starts to spread on my lips as Iris walks in front of me, examining our work.
Most of work are rough, sort of orangish things in various shapes, no idea why Iris was so focused and interested in those boring things, but she made me make several walls, stairs and other weird shapes out of the strange, far too smooth material...but then again, it does feel rather nice. I start to sit up as Iris continues walking down the gallery of our combined toil. Her red eyes are empty again, as she pushes up her glasses. I don't like when she gets that look, it makes me feel like I"m a mouse being hunted by m..my families old farm cat, I don't know why but...it does get my blood pumping, and that isn't bad at all.
She suddenly groans heavily and slumps over, her ears rotating around as she turns back to me, with her wings hanging limply at her sides.
I hop off my perch and jog up to her, to make sure she's feeling alright, since all of this magicking made even feel like death...so it can't be to pleasant for her I imagine.
I stop and look up at her, while I rub all four of my hands together and try to figure out what to say as my wings wrap themselves around me as she stares down at me with an almost unnervingly bored look in her eyes.

What sort of demon look do we even want for Mali in the long run? Right now we proably still got a lot of options going forward.

"Maybe" I say as I raise both of my right arms up, wincing due to my old life's habits and instincts "We should take a break?"
"Oh?" Iris asks, sounding a bit worried as she stands up to her full height and towers over me "Well I wasn't suggesting we keep working on it, if that's what you thought I was implying, but you deserve a nice relaxing break"

She crosses her wings and looks a little embarrassed as she stares down at me, frowning just slightly.
"Really, I hadn't noticed" She says flatly as she turns away from me "but then again I've never used this much magic before... and it is a little harder with our...er current circumstances"
She sighs and tilts her head, before she suddenly drops against one of the various curved walls we've made over the last hour or so. My heart skips a beat and I move to see if she's alright, when her eyes shoot open, and she stares at me. They glimmer like gems in fire light as she sits up straight and scratchs herself behind the ears.
"Yes...yes, not to mention" She says, leaning over me as she kicks her legs out "You're kind of...weak compared to mother's demon"

Demons in this setting seem to be usually pretty serious business, but with us being a demon, it might happen if we aren't too out of their league in power.
She keeps on smiling, as I just stand there, trying my best to keep my cool. I mean I'm not human so it isn't that bad is it? It's just something I need to do right, I mean the book seemed pretty riled up that I wasn't doing whatever it is I should be doing already. But still it's a little...Well it's disturbing but exciting, like watching meat cook, fresh from the butchers, or watching blood drip out after you've knicked yourself with a knife. It's really...really odd, like part of me doesn't want to admit it, and another part wants to roll around in it like a dog...It's actually kind of fun, don't know why though.

Eh, just used it as a saying. It just seems that the magic schools that have been discussed the most lend to a closer fight than a typical backline mage build. More Eldritch Knight from DnD than a straight up Wizard.

I yelp and fly into the air a bit as Iris ducks down, covering herself with her wings, dropping down to the ground as I hear some giggle.
I look down and see an arrow sticking out of the gardens wall, planted right into the skull of a bright blue lizard around my size.
"Got ya, you damned pest" Vera says happily as she walks out of one of the bushes, spinning her bow around in one arm, as her other ...WHERE'S HER ARM, I fall down as I smell all of her blood, as she goes to retrieve her arrow, humming to herself as Iris growls
"VERA" She yells angrily "We've been over this, Alex may be fine with you shooting things right next to him, but I'm not, how many times to do we have to have this conversation"
"Plenty of times, my dear little sister" The older Miller says playfully as she tosses the small beast into the bushes "Besides, he's a little mad at me right now, so I'm just clearing the gardens to pass some time, since I can't spend it hunting him"

Well, there were two places that caught my attention, a weird and very colorful store with weird cardboard cut outs in front of it and some strange language plastered on it that looked a bit like the demonic scrawl in that mean spirited book, and a whole lot of people walking into it.
And then there's that rickety old butcher shop, that I only caught a glimpse of down in an alleyway, with a strange door next to it, made out of blood covered bronze that was steaming in a weird way that seemed to almost call out to me.

I'd rather we stumble our way through something hillarious and simple first before daring to do something more sinister and serial killery.
Well, I may not be the smartest girl around, but I know well enough to stay away from doors literally coated in blood. So yeah I think I'll pass on that one, besides the shop that looks like a rainbow threw up on it is much closer and seems a whole lot safer for myself than...well some random butcher shop in an alley way that looks like it hasn't seen any business for a few years.
I cross my arms as I start to walk towards it, and start to hear that overly and weird music coming out of it everytime someone opens a door....I actually like it but I don't know, this place just seems kind of...pricey to me, like needlessly extravagant.
Maybe it's just because how colorful it is compared to everything around it, it just...draws the eyes to it, and smells...I don't know, it's like a mixture of bad and good, perfume and sweat, it's actually a little off putting.
I walk up to it as a few monsters walk out of the door, talking with a rather fat, and normal looking human, all wearing the same shirt of a weird...sort of red feminine suit of armor on it.
I stare at them for a bit, and then walk into the store, the bell on the door rings, and I'm swallowed in chaos, as people run back and forth as tv's show plenty of loud videos.

I stand there, frozen in a bit of shock as I continue to watch the various groups of people inside the store talk and chat to eachother. I blink and rub my eyes, just to be sure I'm not having a fever dream right now because...I didn't know a place like this could exist back when I was at the farm. It's just so...wonderful? No it's something else, I take a step forward and
"YOU CURR, YOUR WAIFU IS TRASH!" A gurgling voice growls angrily, as I see a troll rise up behind some isle, holding a skinny man in his arms, with a bright pink shirt with what looks like a smaller version of Vera on it.
A second later, it tosses that man across the store, like a skipping stone. The man slams into the wall, and everyone stops, a few laugh, but mostly everyone doesn't give a single shit that they might've witnessed murder. I nod slowly, and walk away from the massive packs of customers, so I don't end up getting trampled, or picked up.
I walk under the feet of some girls dressed in short skirts and...white shirts with ties, one of them looks like she came from the swamps, with weeds for hair, and skin that's splorched green and brown with a few pieces of bark in place of her nails.
She turns to me and smiles happily, and...I smell a most wonderful smell coming off of her that completely covers up her wet mud and stagnant water smell. I blink and smile and nod, walking away as I breath in, and feel a burning...a nice burning sensation slowly travel down my gut as I start to feel a little ...energetic.

Well, Rest my Case the.
I take another deep and slow breath, tasting...tastes I can't describe, every breath I take makes me feel more alive, it's like I'm drinking the stuff that makes up life itself. It's almost feels syrupy somehow, and tastes strong with so many flavors, I can't pick them out, but all of them are hot, and leave a satisfying warmth in my tummy.
I shake my head, my hair covering my eyes as my wings flap happily on their own. I look up around me, and just see some people that look around my old body's age looking down at me curiously. They notice I'm looking at them, and they back away, looking somehow even more awkward than Iris does sometimes.
"Who are you" I ask under my breath, practically thinking outloud as I hear a giggle above me, followed by a wet slither.
I start to look up, when a dollop of what I pray to...hope is drool. I look up and see a woman looking down at me, her skin a bright and vibrant lavender. And she is obviously more than just a monster...she has to be a demon like me, since every lusty smell in this store vanished as soon as I saw her, leaving only that same mixture of perfume, cologne and sweat as before.
"Sorrrrrrry, little sister" She purrs, as two extra sets of pitch black eyes open up on her cheeks as she slowly lowers herself down to me "But I was absoluuuuutley famished, you cannot blame me can you, besides a growing girl like you needs more than scraps"

I'd rather not owe a debt to a more powerful demon, but if we are going to owe a debt, I'd rather it be for being taught how to fish, over being given a fish. We don't want to become dependent on her or other demons, and being given scraps means just that.
I stare at her as her tentacles lash around her, dripping that ooze as the pink mist rolling out of her lips covers all of her, except for her six black eyes, that glow with a...sort of dim light. Well...what the hell, at least this way I'm pretty much guaranteed to succeed.

Which is determined by how actively you are corrupting a mortal
Drinking in lust in the air not caused by you is the slowest way, since it's sucking up scraps, and this is how most lust demons take the long way out of imp hood, as it is passive and not dangerous. Takes awhile though. t
then comes drinking lust you yourself made, which takes less time as there is more of it as it is fresh, but tend to attract attention of other demons, as it is naturally corrupting the soul over time
Then is corrupting the soul directly, which is the fastest way to gain power, and the fastest, but it attracts more attention than the others
the quickest way is to merge and overtake other demons, which is frowned upon as it muddles the winning demon and makes them half bred, which is consider mentally unwell to demons. And is thought of as a thing only Gluttony demons should do, since they eat everything anyways.
So basically
eating scraps is safe, and somewhat slow, as you just sit around getting fat off the work of other things.
eating fresh is better because it isn't scraps, as you are actively doing demonic work
Corrupting souls, no matter how you do it, is the fastest, as the above.
the difference between inspiring and directly corrupting is how long it takes for the soul to turn rotten
Merging is a weak demons easy path to power.
Now most lust demons just hang around lusty places and enjoy themselves, or go around making places lusty, like Big sis was, to feed on it. Corrupting isn't just fucking, but that's what it tends to be, as Lust demons tend to enjoy mortals more than they need to.
Much like gluttony demons enjoy eating, when most demons do not get why they do it.
You can corrupt without fucking, but as I said earlier, most lust demons are sluts so they tend to do it that way due to their own lust.
