You are Takashi Wakui, a sixteen year old Japanese high school student. In your world, half of humanity possesses a Persona—the corporeal manifestation of one’s personality as a supernatural entity. You had been an unlucky ordinary at first, lacking the potential to summon your Persona. Then the application AETHER was forcibly installed on your smartphone. It sucked you into the nightmarish realm of the Blackened Void, where you fought monsters and awakened your Persona in the process.

You are now the Wild Card of the 22nd Century. You possess the Fool Arcana, giving you the power to draw strength from bonds and wield multiple Personas at once. Already this places you in great danger, as the Fool Arcana is seen as an impossibility by the common masses. Revealing your newfound power to the common world would immediately land your head on a dissection table. To make matters worse, you and several others have been cursed as the Void’s Chosen, fated to traverse the wastelands of the Blackened Void until the end of the game. For what purpose does AETHER exist, what mysteries lie within and how is victory achieved?

>>Takashi: Receive stat boosts from eating a French dinner.

Sure.

>Your CHARISMA has increased by 3 points!

>>Takashi: Learn Nerve Strike already!

Okay, okay, no need to be in such a rush. You open up the handbook you bought at Quinn’s and read it on the couch. It details how one can strike the pressure points of the body to deal physical damage and stun a foe. There are several diagrams of a muscular man in orange monk robes to go with the text. After skimming over the introduction a few times, you feel as if you’ve got the gist of it. Time to put it to the test, then.

You drag yourself to the nearby gym, focus mana in your palms and proceed to assault a poor, defenseless innocent virtual training dummy. The yellow smiley face bends in itself as you strike its chest and send minor electrical currents up its plastic spine. How horrendous, you think to yourself. That surely is an expression of barely suppressed agony. You are committing unprovoked assault, an act that would surely get you locked in juvenile. Well, it would if it weren’t for the fact that dummies don’t have emotions or even minimum spatial awareness, you complete moron.

…why are you getting distracted by your own thoughts? More punching, less thinking.

>>Takashi: Finish learning Nerve Strike.

There, are you satisfied now? Look at you, you’re all worn out. Brush your teeth and go to sleep. No, don’t flop on your bed and fall unconscious without removing your clothes! Just because there’s no-one else at home doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try and keep up a respectable image of yourself!

Fuck yeah.

>>Takashi: Be at class the next day.

That’s a bit redundant, since you’re already here. It’s eight thirty in the morning and you are sitting your seat, staring out the window that Celeste is next to. It’s a bright and sunny day, with nary a cloud in the sky. Perfect for a picnic outside, or a fight against a gang of delinquents in some dirty back alley in the ninth district. Doesn’t it make you want to rip off your blazer and run a few laps around the city loop?

You feel as if you should be thinking of something more useful, but there’s nothing worthwhile to do in the classroom. You’ve done all your work and you can’t be bothered to get your phone out of your pocket. Everyone else is occupied; Takauji is chatting with Kanade, simultaneously attempting to ignore the devilish, piercing leer his childhood his friend is slamming at him. Celeste is working on some unfinished science homework, her brow furrowed as she scribbles down formulas for the bonds between chemicals. Akikazu is asleep, Aria is absent in the hospital and Fumika continues to be surrounded by those metaphorical anti-conversation nuclear bunker walls of hers. As for the other kids in the class, you don’t know them well enough to start a conversation with them.

It sounds a little pathetic, and you know it. But give yourself some credit—you’ve only been here for a little over two months.

Still, you shouldn’t use a death trap masquerading as a immersive reality-merging video game as an excuse to make friends. It might be detrimental to your future social skills. Or something. The side of your head is resting against the table surface and you are moments away from letting a stream of drool trickle from the gap between your lips.

The classroom door hisses open. You hear delicate, metallic feet clicking on hard enamel ground. The entire class quietens at once and sits up in their seats.

“Good morning everyone. I hope you all slept well” Veleis-sensei announces, looking pristine in that clean, blemish-free android fashion of hers. “Before I call the roll, I have some news I would like to share with you. I’m sure it will make most of you very happy.”

Mentioning the words ‘dueling’ and ‘happy’ proves to be a smart move. A great deal of attention is grabbed. A small hint of satisfaction, a faint quirk raising the sides of her artificial lips, appears on her features, as fleeting as a falling star.

“The academy, or rather its administration, is proud to announce that we have formed a partnership with the Gaea Stadium in District 6. They have generously loaned out a small arena to us. From now on, students of this academy will be allowed to duel each other in that arena between the hours of 6pm and 10pm.”

She pauses to take a breath.

“All matches there will be counted as official academy matches, meaning that the same rules apply. Please read up on them if you have forgotten. Any results that occur there will be added to the official academy leaderboard. You will have to pay a membership fee of course, but for your convenience that has been added to the school fees. I trust that your families will have no trouble paying for this relatively paltry sum. Like all duels, this is entirely optional and you should not feel pressured to participate if you don’t feel like it. Though, I have a feeling my last sentence has fallen on deaf ears.”

Half the class breaks into cheers and grateful cries. You blink at the news. Well, this certainly makes things more convenient for you.

“Yes, I see you are all excited about this. I would be too, if I was human and shared your slightly violent tendencies. Now, feel free to knock each other’s teeth out at your leisure, but don’t forget that your studies are important as well.”

[<THE_FIRST> opened a blogpost on 9:00 am, 29-Apr-2131]
<THE_FIRST> So there I was
<THE_FIRST> Considering throwing hat into the ring and psyching up for trading blows with fellow students at the academy
<THE_FIRST> It was going to make my blood boil and send my nerves screaming like I had just ate an entire bowlful of red hot chilli peppers
<THE_FIRST> I mean it wasn’t like I was opposed to the notion
<THE_FIRST> The past me might’ve abhorred it
<THE_FIRST> But the past me was a weak spineless piece of shit who couldn’t muster up the motivation to do something useful in his life
<THE_FIRST> My first duel with Celeste was hella fun
<THE_FIRST> Through that might’ve been because I beat her
<THE_FIRST> Still I think I would’ve looked back fondly if I lost or drew against her
<THE_FIRST> That’s just how great of a girl she is
<THE_FIRST> And no that totally wasn’t a compliment with an ulterior motive to get to share some of her rare truffles
<THE_FIRST> Seriously why would you ever think that
<THE_FIRST> Do you think I’m some sort of high paid megacorporation faceless manipulative shithead in a two piece suit
<THE_FIRST> Anyway getting back on track
<THE_FIRST> I sat down at my bedroom table and thought to myself
<THE_FIRST> Because I received a special superpower that only an emotionless genocidal girl in a serafuku once possessed
<THE_FIRST> And the revealing of which would instantly draw to the fact that I am a one in eight billion
<THE_FIRST> A specimen ever rarer than the Judgement users
<THE_FIRST> It would practically be begging to have me and my family kidnapped by every standing government in the world
<THE_FIRST> So I decided to not let that happen
<THE_FIRST> I laid down a few ground rules for myself
<THE_FIRST> When a duel started I could either summon my Persona or use augmentation
<THE_FIRST> If I used augmentation first off the bat I could utilize my arsenal of auxiliary Persona to my full potential
>>

He's just clairvoyant. Special Fool power

>I would be too, if I was human and shared your slightly violent tendencies.
You are literally a living weapon. It's right there in your name: Anti-Shadow Weapon Veleis. Don't act like you're not just as violent as humans are, just because you can be dispassionate while doing it.

<THE_FIRST> Their spells skills resistances and whatnot
<THE_FIRST> Obviously I couldn’t bust out all eleven elements at once
<THE_FIRST> Ippon-Datara only knew three elements back then and I hadn’t trained his affinity for ice electricity wind or earth
<THE_FIRST> Even Eriko the strongest girl in the school only knew about six or seven
<THE_FIRST> Knowing more skill types than a plausible amount would’ve drawn a lot of attention to me
<THE_FIRST> Then again
<THE_FIRST> The idea of someone being a Fool in our society back then was utterly ludicrous
<THE_FIRST> It was only a theory based off an observation of an existence who rarely showed itself towards humanity
<THE_FIRST> No-one thought it was possible
<THE_FIRST> Had I ignored the above people would have obviously gotten suspicious
<THE_FIRST> They might have chalked me up as a magical genius or something
<THE_FIRST> But I think I would’ve been safe if it weren’t for the chances of Spotters being in the crowds
<THE_FIRST> Their magic has a unique wavelength but even in our academy
<THE_FIRST> A lot of them run cloaking or interference spells in the background
<THE_FIRST> So I couldn’t really take too many risks
<THE_FIRST> My friends
<THE_FIRST> The ones who have Personas at least
<THE_FIRST> Suggested that I should use the huge library of chi casting skills more and rely on my auxiliary Persona’s unique resistances
<THE_FIRST> Since as you know you can fake them as dodging or pass them off has having really good defense buffs and endurance
<THE_FIRST> Oh yeah once I switched to my main Persona and summoned him I couldn’t really retract him
<THE_FIRST> Then switch to another Persona and then cast a skill outside of my main Persona’s skill set
<THE_FIRST> Persona users are really secretive about their fighting knowledge
>>
>>47047984
><THE_FIRST> The idea of someone being a Fool in our society back then was utterly ludicrous
Back then? Oh shit, something big is going to go down, if at some point in the next two years the idea of someone being the Fool is no longer unbelievable.

<THE_FIRST> You wouldn’t go up to a random stranger and brag about how good your juho strikes are or whatever
<THE_FIRST> A big part of the Persona dueling meta is trying to figure out what skills and spells your opponent knows
<THE_FIRST> People guess by analyzing already known skills
<THE_FIRST> Guessing affinities from resistances
<THE_FIRST> Making conclusions based on the Persona’s innate mythology
<THE_FIRST> That sort of stuff
<THE_FIRST> So if I retracted Ippon-Datara and cast Garu
<THE_FIRST> With everyone knowing that Ippon-Datara’s affinities are fire darkness and physical
<THE_FIRST> It would have set a lot of alarm bells off
<THE_FIRST> I could pretend I had trained Ippon-Datara in wind but there’s only so many times excuses like that can work
<THE_FIRST> Plus they could have asked me to cast the spell without giving me time to switch
<THE_FIRST> And some Personas are heavily resilient against learning some skills types like Jack Frost and fire spells
<THE_FIRST> Chi casting skills are pretty generic
<THE_FIRST> Meaning that they aren’t affected by a Persona’s innate affinities
<THE_FIRST> Most of them anyway
<THE_FIRST> Then there was the debate of whether or not I should use my auxiliary Personas
<THE_FIRST> Ippon-Datara didn't grow with my bonds meaning I have to train him manually
<THE_FIRST> Plus there was the whole being honorable shtick I had to consider as well
<THE_FIRST> Sticking to my main Persona would've been a lot safer
<THE_FIRST> I think I’ll talk about that debate for another time through
<THE_FIRST> In any case
<THE_FIRST> I sure am glad I stuck to those guidelines of mine
<THE_FIRST> Otherwise I’d be buried six feet under by now

[4:00 pm, 3-Jun-2129 (FRIDAY)]

School is over. You pack your bags and head for the exit. While on your way to the double doors at reception, you hear two third-year girls chatting near a vending machine.

“Geez, why does Yoshino have to be so uptight? Doesn’t she know how to relax a little?”

“She’s a House Captain, though. She’s probably busy with admin stuff all the time.”

“To the point where she can’t enjoy a trip to the local café? Ridiculous!”

“You know, I heard she’s been seen spending a lot of time in the nearby library.”

“The school one?”

“No, the big one a few blocks away. I think she lives near there. She must use that place for studying, work or something.”

“That…isn’t the most interesting thing you could have come up with.”

A shrug. “Whatever. Thought I might mention it.”

You walk past them and step into the afternoon sunlight. What will you do?

Found it!
>So what's on our current to-do list? It looks like the last quest update was about the Chikashi Abomination, so we don't have anything urgent for at least the next little while. So I'm thinking: go to clubs in the afternoon for stat gains and Social Links, study in the evenings because we need to start working on Intelligence again, hit the Hazebound Woods on the weekends to get Celeste's companion and since we're not going to be able to do anything with Shizuka, and on Fridays go to the dueling grounds because I really want to do that at some point, especially now that we can cheat properly with Augmentation.
>>
>>47048240
>stupid to do it unsubtly.
True but it can be used subtly in the battlegrounds.
>>
>>47048298
>and on Fridays go to the dueling grounds because I really want to do that at some point
We can do that whenever now at night since night timeslot is only occupied by the ghost girl so far.
>>
>>47048337
I would like to do the Kozue social link on Wednesday nights if we can.
>>
>>47048047
>>Fight randoms in the Battlegrounds (Gain C. EXP, reputation and increases WILLPOWER)
TIME TO KICK SOME FACE.
Also, tentative itinerary for the next few days (my ideas):
>Friday afternoon: dueling.
>Friday night: find Celeste's Companion.
>Saturday afternoon: talk to Yoshino.
>Saturday night: study.
>Sunday: Forlorn Abyss Act Two.

And I still maintain that we shouldn't use the Wild Card at all during duels, because it IS cheating.
>>
Okay, writing now...
>>
>>47048315
The thing is, I fear you may be overestimating /tg/'s capacity for subtlety.
>>
>>47048392
>because it IS cheating.
Is being Michel Phelp cheating at swimming?
>>
>>47048425
Isn't that the most subtle thing though? If we are never subtle, the times we are nobody will suspect a thing. IT'S GENIUS!
>>
>>47048337
Alright so then it's something like this then?
:Mon-Thurs/ Clubs for after school and switch studying and dueling during the evening
:Friday-Sat/ Explore the town or hang out with the little girl in the playground
:Sun/ hit the Hazebound Woods to finally nab Celeste's Buddy?

of course this is discounting any disruptions that constantly interrupt scheduling.
>>
>>47048435
No, but our situation is somewhat more akin to being some random schmuck who was injected with nanomachines which reconstructed his body in the shape of Michael Phelps, which some people may have some objections to raise about.
>>
>>47048392
>cheating
If we dont grind fast enough, we die in the Void
Our friends will die in the Void. Think about that
>>
>>47048452
do not forget study time for exams/int boosting. We really need to boost that soonish.
>>
>>47048545
And it's at least twice as effective to grind Ippon-Darata through combat than any other Persona.
>>
>>47048600
We fukken aced the last one. how much smarter do we need to get ?
>>
>>47048496
Actually, given the implications that the substance that was injected into Takashi was originally part of him, we have a more valid claim to the Wild Card than anyone else ever has. Makoto had it thanks to Pharos dwelling in his soul. Aigis had it because of Makoto transferring his powers to her. Yu had it because of Izanagi's blessing. The Phantom Thief and Kaede herself are unknown, but probably had similarly-outward origins to their powers. Takashi is likely to be the only Wild Card to have his powers be entirely his, even if required intervention to awaken them. We're not the Weakest One because we're a failed attempt at reproducing the Wild Card. We're the Weakest One because we're all-natural, unlike the others with their artificial enhancements.
>>
>>47048616
The next level of smart to have a good chance of passing.
>>
>>47048616
We aced it because of some unbelievable lucky rolls. Going by what we we've been told, we need to raise INTELLIGENCE another two levels to perform as well on the next exam.
>>
>>47048616
considering the BIG hints we've gotten that say we need the next rank to do well and we are way behind in that? Alot. We also need to use study to improve our odds. We got CRAZY lucky with the rolls and I want to pass Fumika in her studies. Besides, the best scores give us lots of money and items. We want that badly.
>>
>>47048659
We can only realistically raise one more level.
>>
>>47048600
Yup included the studying, I was hoping that it would alternate between the dueling and studying so it'll be like
Mon, Wed- Study and Tues, Thurs- Foightin
>>
>>47048676
Yeah, that was actually me misreading. We need Smart level INTELLIGENCE, that's the next level, not two levels from now. We need another 53 points to reach that level. I think we can manage that without too much trouble.
>>
>>47048676
Yes, that is the point, but remember. Studying also boosts our rolls in general for these tests. Our group study thing became a shenanigan based thing and we learned nothing from it.. though we did get charisma.

We need to keep it up, raise it high, and find a way to bolster our bonuses further. Top Mark items tend to be damn useful and powerful, and if shit is getting real, we will need it. Besides, if we can set up study times with others we could do better and build up social links.

>>Takashi: Go to the Battlegrounds.

This has been long overdue. The afternoon is warm. The streets are noisy. Your body itches, the blood within beginning to bubble over in a low simmer. The magic in your system crackles down your nerves, buzzing at the core of your Personas. Today is a perfect today to bust some heads. Despite the load of English homework that was unceremoniously dumped on your head, you can’t help but let loose a small, predatory grin.

But before you proceed, there is an issue you have to address. It’s been lurking at the back of your mind, swatting at your brain like a bored cat with a cloth toy. The question of whether or not you will use your auxiliary Personas in official academy duels. Koppa Tengu, Matador, Makami and the rest of your stock are powerful soldiers, boasting unique resistances, affinities and skills. They would certainly give you an edge over the rest of the competition.

Yet, you must keep your status as the second Fool a secret. Switching between Personas in the midst of battle, with Spotters and eagle-eyed proctors watching from the crowd, is one way to blow your cover. It is also one way to get yourself slammed down on a lab table, toxins and sedatives replacing the oxygen in your bloodstream.

You aren’t stupid. In fact, your INTELLIGENCE is Decent. It wouldn’t take too much effort to conceal yourself in front of the crowd. Even so, it might be beneficial to be more careful…

What is your decision?

>The Wild Card is part of who you are. Use its powers to your full potential.
>Winning is important and the Wild Card will let you achieve that. Use it.
>No, you can’t risk being exposed. Stick to your main Persona only.

No, Personas are the work of various otherworldly beings (primarily Philemon, but other spirits have shown the ability to impart them). They always have been. Maybe people are developing them "naturally" now, but that just means the gods and spirits have refined their process to the point that they don't need to have some big dramatic event to awaken someone.

With the recent controversy about /qst/ I decided to do a little polling and see where my players come from. The results might come in handy for future discussions about quests and their audiences...or it might be used by anons to shitpost even more than /tg/ and /qst/ can handle. I don't know, I'm mostly doing this to satisfy my own curiosity.

Anyway, there are two polls, one asking how you came across Persona 2129 Quest and another asking how many SMT games you have played (including spinoffs like Personas). The second poll is based of a chart made my /smtg/, which I have included.

Please answer them if you feel like it.

YELLINGBIRD'S FACT OF THE DAY: TWINS THEY WERE EDITION

>The Twins moved into the Room after Igor got kicked out for losing a bet. The subject of the bet, and his whereabouts, are unknown.
>While the exact timeframe of their presence in the Room is uncertain, they were the proprietors at the time of Kaede Kurusu, which really goes a long way towards explaining why she was how she was.
>The Twins somehow have access to the AETHER chat, and the boy's chat handle is 'cobalt_youth'.
>The girl thinks that the Great Seal (P3) was the most important Wild Card, while the boy thinks that the Bifurcated Duo (P2) was (were?) the most interesting.
>They refer to Philemon and Nyarlathotep as Butterfly Man and Mr. Black Alien Faces, respectively.
>They don't seem to be able to call things by their proper names at all. Even countries are given titles (USA = country of the stars and stripes; domain of the red = Russia (or maybe China); country of beasts = probably Australia).
>The Observer is aware of the existence of the Velvet Room, although it was unaware of who the proprietors are and states that the Room is separate from the Blackened Void.

You decide to err on the side of caution. Ippon-Datara will do for now. Still, it the opportunity presents itself, you might consider switching to one of your auxiliary Personas and blast away. You aren’t clairvoyant; the future is a mysterious tapestry weaved from the intricate threads of space and time. Who knows what will happen next? The very existence of the game, the dreaded AETHER and the realm of the Blackened Void, is testament to life's unpredictability.

In any case, you make a resolution to never switch between your Personas if a Spotter is lurking in the stands.

You enter the Battlegrounds through a passageway on the side. It takes you to a small reception area, where a male android is waiting behind a small desk. The holographic projection from a laptop is in front of him and he’s busy typing away.

“Oh, hello, student!” The android says, not bothering to get up from his plush swivel chair, “Are you here for a duel? Or are you a spectator?”

“I’m here to fight someone.” You state.

“You sound enthusiastic. In that case, load up the official Akumachi-Kirijo matchmaking application and you’ll be assigned an opponent in no time.”

You tilt your head to the side, confused. “Matchmaking application?”

Now it’s the android’s turn to look puzzled. “You don’t know?”

“I’ve only been at this academy for a bit over two months.”

“Oh, a new student. Well then, champ, hop onto the app store and search for the application. Once downloaded, sign up with your student credentials and press the matchmaking button. You’ll be assigned to an opponent roughly your own worth. You can reserve a match if you have a dueling partner, too.”

You know what's funny?

The 'I have to win' Wild Card voters are neglecting gains that could help them win by choosing not to train up Ippon (the only Persona of ours that can improve) during these optional battlegrounds.

You get C. EXP, Willpower, AND our main Persona gets stronger. Yes you could lose some matches but does that really matter in the long run?

“Okay, thanks.” You take out your smartphone and browse for the app. It’s lightweight, only a single gigabyte. In this age of hyper-advanced data transfer, the application is downloaded and installed on your phone’s drive in the span of a second. You open it, pushing aside the pale white splash screen and give it a good look over. The application is divided into multiple sections: current leaderboards, MVP of the month, current status and more. On the lower part is a big blue button with the word ‘matchmaking’ displayed on it. You give it a press and the program springs to work.

>MATCHMAKING IN PROGRESS.
>PLEASE WAIT PATIENTLY

There’s information about you displayed on the screen. All it mentions is your current Persona, the amount of wins, losses and draws you possess and any special awards that you may have received. Thus, it is Ippon-Datara, 1/0/0 and None. You also notice how it doesn’t display your Persona’s affinities or any skills it knows…

After a few minutes, clip art of a pasty thumbs up flashes on screen, with the following words attached.

>MATCHMAKING COMPLETE.
>YOUR DUEL WILL BEGIN IN 15 MINUTE(S). IT WILL TAKE PLACE IN FIELD 4. YOUR OPPONENT IS MANAMI OKADA.
>PLEASE TAKE A SEAT AND WAIT UNTIL IT BEGINS.
>BE AWARE OF THE RULES BEFORE YOU BEGIN AS WELL.

Said line of text is followed by a link to the official rule book. You decide to read over them and remind yourself…

Security measures to make sure no one hacks it to make sure they have the ideal opponents for their own skills to face? Like someone with a lot of fire spells making sure they always fight people with fire weakness, or something like that.

Aye, me as well. I mean he is always going to be in the roster so it would seem more difficult to not use him than to use him. As it would take conscious effort to not take advantage of his skills. Or a very mismatched opponent/s.

You pass the time by browsing through a series of online tutorials Watanabe-sensei assigned you for an upcoming assignment. The minutes tick by. Your anticipation grows. It feels like an army of ants marching around the linings of your stomach.

“Takashi Wakui and Manami Okada, please come to Arena 4. Your duel is about to start in two minutes. Failure to show up will result in automatic forfeit…”

You follow the mechanical, female voice into the entrance to the arena. Down a dark hall, out into a shining light. The dome of the Battlegrounds opens up, revealing the skirmishes below for the heavens to see. You step onto the sandy ground and face your opponent. It’s a girl around your age. Second year of high school, brown hair, glasses, a round face and an utterly disgusted impression.

Okay, that's a bit surprising.

“You!” The girl named Manami Okada hisses.

“Me?” You ask, pointing to yourself.

She points an accusing finger at you, aiming directly at your heart. Presumably the intention is for an imaginary laser beam to burst out from the appendage and silence you in a single blow. “You’re the guy who insulted onee-sama! This is good, though. I get the chance to take revenge for her!”

Veleis-sensei, your proctor, rolls her eyes. You guess she's seen hundreds of petty squabbles like this in her lifetime, and is frankly exhausted of it all. She steps forward. It's clear the battle is about to begin. Is there something you would like to say to your opponent?

>“Sorry, who are you again?”
>“Today must be my lucky day. I finally get to smash your face in.”
>“Let’s have a fun match.”
>“I hope your onee-sama is watching.”
>“Are you going to use a compass here too?”
>Say nothing, but glare at her.

The greatest insult is to be considered not worthy of being remembered.

We have never, ever met this person before. Perhaps she got a bad concussion in a previous fight?

So beat her without calling Ippon?
>>
>>47050247
I like it. But only if we end the match with skull cracker.
>>
>>47050247
Let's just play it by ear instead of making plans.
>>
>>47050247
Yes. Not because of wanting to swap out our other Personas. Just out of contempt. Send the message that she's not important enough for us to need to bring our Persona out. If worse comes to worse summon him, of course, but if possible try to do the whole fight with nothing but Chi Casting and Persona Augmentation.

>>“Sorry, who are you again?”

>>47050278
Eh, if that were the case I'd rather beat her souldly with Ippon's full power than simply using chii. Beat her down with all we have learned and send her flying like the mook she is.

Bet she has something like pyro jack or something we had once.

First of all, let me apologize for the absolute clusterfuck that was the previous choice. Still, I appreciate that you guys took the time to fill out the polls. It seems that the majority of people found this quest while browsing /tg/, which is interesting. As for the people who are CASUAL FAGGOTS...well, the SMT games are fun JRPGs, so go and play them. I'm JUST ANOTHER BITCH-ASS MESSIAH myself.

Writing now...

>It seems that the majority of people found this quest while browsing /tg/, which is interesting.
I was browsing /tg/ specifically for quests, but there was no option for that.
>>
Okay, here's what I'm thinking: Open with Pulinpa to Confuse her, if it works rush in with Stride and Nerve Strike her, then wail on her with Torrent Shot while she's Confused and Paralyzed. If it doesn't work, we'll have to get crafty about things, but we have the possibility to make this fight go really fast if we roll well on that initial hit.
>>
>>47050374
>well, the SMT games are fun JRPGs, so go and play them.
The scale of them scares the fuck outta me, doubly so with the ones with time limits.
>>

Devil Survivor (and to a much looser extent Persona)?
>>

That previous vote wasn't even in my top 20 shitposting/saltflood/autistic moments in a quest. If it turned people off that's great. The fewer thin skinned faggots engaging in the quest, the more time before it turns to garbage due to player over pop.
>>
>>47050469
Yes. I'm also pretty terrible at traditional RPGs, any other type of RPG I can push myself through with a small degree if difficulty but turn based ones elude me.
>>
>>47050433
thats part of their appeal to me. There is a bunch of pressure and tough foes to face. Victories feel like proper hard won battles and makes it that much more worthwhile.
>>
I started playing the raidou games and I hit the second one and regretted fusing my pixie so fast

Is Chryssa getting cucked with that triple nat 1 included in that top 20?

Eh I suppose. With the context of all the waifufaggoty that lead up to it definately. BQ in general could probably fill up a quarter of those slots with its shear girth. One quest I can say with certainty belongs on /qst/.
>>
>>47050619
To be fair BQ greatly improved after that.
>>
>>47050619
I take it BQ has only continued it's downward spiral?
Also I just remembered that Shadow Quest exists.

>>47050719
It's actually really fun right now.

>>Takashi: Remember who this girl is.

You try and fail. It’s as if your brain took the information about this girl in the past, decided it was a waste of the time and threw it into the trash can. Did the two of you even meet in the past? She doesn’t even look the slightest bit familiar. That’s how hard you have forgotten about her!

“Sorry,” You say, attempting to put on an amicable tone. It doesn’t please the girl in front of you, whose cheeks now resemble twin balloons filled with strawberry jam. “Who are you again?”

“It’s me!” she snaps. When you blink with bewilderment for the second time, her scowl deepens enough to rival Akikazu’s usual grimace. “Manami Okada!”

“That’s your name, alright. I’m Takashi Wakui, nice to meet you.”

“I’m one of Sae Katsukawa’s underlings!” she yells. “Are you seriously that dumb?”

Sae? Oh, that tall girl who locked you inside an empty classroom before the student council president gave her a verbal lashing. You suddenly remember everything about this girl, from her hobbies to her dislikes and whether or not she prefers the toilet paper facing inwards or outwards. Hang on, wait, no you don’t. You actually only recall a little detail. It’s of something sharp being placed tantalizingly close to the back of your shirt.

“Are you going to try and stab me with a compass again?” You utter. “You do know those things are used for drawing circles, right?”

Manami Okada now looks ready to explode. Unintentionally, a giggle escapes from your lips. Now she’s turning scarlet.

“I am going to destroy you!” she screams.

“That’s enough, both of you.” Veleis-sensei cuts through the conversation like a hidden blade. “Participants, shake hands.”

You step forward and grasp Manami Okada’s hand in what could only be described as a vicegrip. Her eyes are burning with sheer rage, hot, wild and uncontrollable. You leer back at her horse-like features, determined and collected.

That quest was just super towards the end. I never actually finished it come to think of it.

I'd play Persona but I don't have any PS system so I'm forced to rely on YouTube. SMTIV was quite fun though.

>>47050765
Yeah, that was satisfying.

“Dekaja, Dekunda.”

Orbs of light surround you and your opponent, ripping away any buffs and debuffs. You raise your fists, settling into a savate stance. Manami takes out a wooden kendo blade and raises it in a single hand. You step back to your designated place, she does the same. Veleis-sensei lifts her hand to the sky.

“Takashi Wakui versus Manami Okada. Duel…Start!”

The bell rings.

>Ippon-Datara’s skills: Skull Cracker, Rampage, Agi, Pulinpa, Mudo, Phys Boost, Fatal End, Torrent Shot, Disguise Hermit
>Takashi’s skills: Killing Hands, Stride, Mana Fist, Nerve Strike
