Create a fantasy or sci-fi religion or ideology. Your religion or ideology must answer three questions.
Death: Why must man die? What happens afterwards? Is there a way to avert death?
Impotency: Why is man so weak in body and mind? Why should he not be as powerful as the gods?
Morality: How does a man obtain an "ought" from an "is?"
Here's one:
Gaia, Shub-Niggurath, the world soul, whatever her name druids know that all on earth is but an extension of Tanit.
Death: Death is the natural way of earth. By discarding material attachments to the world one can assure reincarnation and fend off undeath.
Impotency: All on earth are part of Tanit and all serve a useful purpose. Power is imparted in accordance to one's function and need and Tanit will provide if more power is required.
Morality: At all costs, Tanit must be preserved. The propagation and preservation of life in all its bounteous forms must be established. Undeath is an abomination that steals away souls from Tanit. Undead must be put to rest and returned to Tanit.

inb4 massive shitstorm

What? Why would this be bait? This is just straightforward world building.

because someone is going to mention a real world ideology or religion. Then everything will be Godwin's Law/Taqiyya/Protocols of the Elders of Zion/911 is an inside job/Deus Vult/HERESY

And OP knows it.

Or maybe that won't happen?

Prepare yourself. Either for that, or this thread's untimely demise

People weren't originally meant to die, a human or animal messenger ruined our chance at immortality
People aren't as great as gods because we're restricted to physical
bodies
There is no real morality, just a bunch of relationships based on respect and order

>Nihilism
See?

That's hardly nihilism and I find it difficult to believe that nihilists would be seriously butt hurt about someone wanting nihilism to be a mainstream ideology in their fantasy setting.

>Death:Death: Why must man die? What happens afterwards?
Who knows? Its the mystery of the ages. Generatiosn of philosophers mulled over it.
>Is there a way to avert death?
Those who come back, wish they hadnt.
>Impotency: Why is man so weak in body and mind?
You think yourself weak?
>Why should he not be as powerful as the gods?
Do gods even exist?
>Morality: How does a man obtain an "ought" from an "is?"
Ask a philosopher if you want endless discussions going nowhere.
Religion in games should be something mysterious, not clearcut answers and a cheap source of blessings and stat boosts. You should spend a lifetime of devotion to have a chance of talking to your god, not a 3 times a day spell.

Sounds pretty nihilistic to me: doom gloom shroom. Well except the first part.
