Halfling is an insult in itself. Basically saying they're barely even half of a human.
I think an elf should be hit with something that reminds them of their dwindling population and how they cower in the woods etc.
Dwarves and Gnomes I honestly don't know.
Half-orcs would just be anything that reference their filthy orcblood and how they are prone to violence. Should they respond with more violence, that only makes it better.

Using a standard curse word and adding something roughly related to the race is the lowest level of slur, best exemplified by the (relatively) recent slurs for Middle Eastern people. Part of the allure of "Knife-ears" or "Dagger-ears" is that it uses regular words compounded in a way that draws attention to a physical feature of the Elves in a negative. So on similar lines you have to come up with something that when said will be degrading without being over-the-top. Adding "fucker" "shitter" or "nigger" to a name is just so tryhard, it has to flow smoothly. Sticking with Elves, you could call them "twigs" to point out their slender, fragile frame, or even "saplings" if you want to get creative, calling them small but also young, which might be insulting to an elf, especially coming from someone with a much shorter lifespan.
Halflings and Gnomes are pretty easy. Because they're so small you can just compare them to, and treat them like, children. Dwarves might also call them "Half-pint" so we stick to the good ol' stereotype of BEER AND ALE. If a race is cannibalistic/consumes the flesh of sapient races (such as Gnolls or Lizardfolk) you could have them refer to members of other races they speak to as though they were future meals. Not much more unnerving than the idea that the guy you're trying to trade with is more concerned with how to season you. Elven slurs for others are probably high-brow stuff, crafted to make them seem even more intelligent and the other races seem like dumb, clumsy brutes.

Orcs are pretty easy. Pigs, Greenies, Tuskers, Slopes (referring to their low, sloping foreheads), Filth (not as in Orcish filth - they're just "the Filth"), etc..
Dwarves are pretty easy too. Shaggies, fluffies, trogs, shroomies, rats (or rat-eaters), mites (does double-duty - stalagmite and a short joke), half-pint (thanks, >>47019445), drunks, roaches.
Elves aren't quite as easy, but there's still some good ones. I've always hated knife-ear, but spikies works. Twigs, creepers, spookies, deer, bark-humper (shortened to barkie), snooties... Maybe they're just not sparking my creativity?
Halflings are really hard to distinguish from dwarves. Just pick and choose. I really like dwarves being rats and halflings being nice, though.

I had a character who called elves twigs. On the surface it was because of them being thin and weak, but eventually the topic of half-elves came up and the double meaning behind it came clear.
