Repostan' newish flake, hoping it gets put into the op picture in a few threads.
>>
>>46945068
So... We find out that Jace can telekineticly chain an army to the ground.

And that The Raven Man can actually keep Jace out of Lilana's mind.. But, for what purpose? What does The Raven Man not want Jace to find out?

And we find out that The Raven Man is real, as Jace acknowledges his presence.

And we find out... that Jace learned The Raven Man's name... A name we did not get to hear.

What the fuck WotC?
>>
>>46944952

You think so? It's only one creature, and B/R doesn't use big stompy stuff.
>>
>>46945128

The guy who updates the OP image seems to be MIA, there's about a dozen flakes all missing from it.
>>

Answering this post from last thread, Fiorenza used to have that kind of haughty, cold personality that nobles in Paliano tend to get. This isn't to say she was like this all the time, but most of her life was spent in the Paliano Academy, backstabbing and one-upping was kind of par for the course there. She dealt with it by divorcing herself from the whole deal, so she became pretty closed off.

After the whole time fuckery happened, she's lost a bit of her distance, but replaced it with the fact that she's missing significant portions of her memory. Not stuff like "oh, I can't remember where I'm from or my family" but more along the lines of "wait, how do I use doors again" and "I don't remember what this spell I know does, but it certainly does something". She's also pretty paranoid, minorly so back in Fiora, but after she was almost murder-ransomed, she's gotten pretty jumpy.

Basically, paranoid timespiracies. She's very much a scholar in the end though, so that's kind of the root of her personality.
>>
>>46945293
Actually, I'm here. I'm just letting it stew for a week before I add them all.

Not updated for three days does not equal 'MIA.'

>>46945334
Four days, closing in on five, but still.
>>
>>46945359
Just answered a little of that here >>46945296.

tl;dr she's really paranoid, very selective in her memory and knowledge of things, but a lot of that is adopted from being in Paliano. Break through all of that and she's smart, inquisitive, and pretty chill.

Insufficient treasure, too many of the monsters are too easy to kill. Also, people kept thinking she was a monster instead of praising her and she's not here for that.

Is there, but too busy trying to help humans get to shelter from angel attacks to do much investigating.

People got the wrong idea bout her legs and tended to shoot at her, which made it very hard to collect stories. Left and decided she probably shouldn't go back when the only people that would talk to her instead of going for weapons or running away screaming were demon-worshippers.

Also reposting
When someone planeswalks, they go to another plane. You can't planeswalk to the same plane - and Otaria and Shiv are on the same plane (and the things between Shiv and Zhalfir also seem to be Dominarian locations, as is Zhalfir itself)
Was going to say that Zhalfir itself has been just plain GONE since the Invasion, but it sounds like you're talking about the sea near where Zhalfir used to be so that doesn't make her pre-Invasion by necessity

>>
>>46949014
Just need to put a stop in between Otaria and Shiv, since 'dragon lair' can be anywhere really. Maybe change the dust elemental to a different elemental (or add another thing in between that and Zhalfir, since the only known plane with dust elementals is Dominaria).
>>
>>46949109
Fear on a white card. I miss those times.
>>
>>46949109
There's an Elemental made out of hedrons on Zendikar, so a dust elemental there wouldn't be too far-fetched.
>>
>>46949212
That's why that was a 'maybe' rather than a 'you should' - while we haven't seen a dust elemental on any plane other than Dominaria, it's possible they COULD exist elsewhere.
However, you can't planeswalk from Otaria to Shiv without going to another plane first
>>
>>46949304
And you can't just travel through time all willy nilly without being made of Silver.

>>46949452

GET YOUR FLAKES READY, WE'RE GOING TO ZENDIKAR

>>46949994
flake is short for special snowflake, because all the characters we make in this thread, original content planeswalkers, are special snowflake trash.
>>
>>46949994
'Snowflake' is the term used for fictional characters of a low quality with an emphasis on how puerile the writers' attempts to make the character unique are.

In this case, we're effectively making fan-fiction planeswalkers for the MtG setting as a method of discussing the lore and exploring the color pie when we don't have anything better to do. Some people like writing stories about them. Due to the fact that we're trying to remain humble and trying to acknowledge that the characters that we make are shit, we use the name 'snowflakes' for these characters.

>tl;dr
we're writing fan-fiction of the lowest quality and we're fully aware of it.
>>
Symonanon here, it's a slow day at work so I may as well write something. Any 'walker interactions that people would want to see? I saw the Zix and Anna stories in the previous threads, really looking forward to seeing how they unfold.

He was asking if people look at other people's flakes, or if they focus on their own story. The main thing seemed to be Will-anon's tendency to only comment on other flakes in the context of them being "pawns" or whatever in his own big story with Gaia.

You and I created Vronak and Gaia on the same day. And someone pointed out that they both resemble Life & Death. And ever since I thought that was such a great concept between two flakes. But, I've been putting on the concept due to the GaiaxWill story going on currently. But, I wanna do an oldwalker relationship between the two.

Perhaps not just some romantic relationship, but maybe something that made them closer as friends, relied on eachother when they couldn't rely on anyone else, and ultimately something sad happening to make them take different paths.

What do you think?

You're saying Will-anon was a little too irate or deleted post was a tad irate? Sorry, I'm super tired right now, and my reading comprehension is shit.

Personally, I tend to read other flake sheets. And the Gaia story doesn't really bother me. I mean, aside from Will anon making other flakes pawns for his flake, they tend to just keep to themselves, so whatevs. And I've enjoyed Gaia anon's writefagging.

But really other flakes have been getting more writefagging than those two aforementioned lately, so I don't know what anon's deal was.

Damn, this is cool as fuck. My flake is going to focus more on using Myr as a tactic, rather than the flake themselves being a Myr. I think we're generally going for different concepts, so it should be fine.
>>
>>46951088
>You and I created Vronak and Gaia on the same day.
Did we? I thought Vronak was made a few days before. I remember I made Gaia because when you guys were arguing about Vronak's color identity, someone commented "the only domain walkers should be worldbuilders" and that made me think "huh. Interesting idea." So yeah, that's how that happened.

As for story bits, not sure yet. Let me get finals out of the way before worrying about writefagging anymore. The thread yesterday with the Gaia x Will thing got a little out of hand after I got off, and so I want to keep that writing aspect on the down low until I have a chance to give more input.

deleted post anon was irate.

I think the takeaway from this is anyone should feel free to write their own stories, and perhaps more importantly, they shouldn't feel the need to have any relevance to any other flakes at all. Not every flake needs to be in the same network; having separate ones could even make their eventual collisions more interesting, if they end up happening.

If you think so, go for it. I still dont know how the thing with flakes from the "old storm" goes though, but that has nothing to do with me.

I will catch some sleep soon though. I have some free time tomorrow so if anyone has a cool idea for a Messenger story, I could try to whip something up, even in myr-code if needed. And of course now I have these AU babies to work with too. Still fearing the day when Shroedinger's Messenger becomes reality.

It's not about one person's flakes being overlooked, it's about people generally being insular rather than providing commentary on newly made flakes. Flakes are meant to be a method of discussing the lore rather than ignoring it in favor of the flakes.

Might just be a personal thing I feel like this snowstorm has five to ten Arakis-tier flakes and no one really gives a damn. In fact, it seems to be encouraged.

More Zix story! It's longer than my usual ones, and still featuring Symon!

>previous Zix stories
http://pastebin.com/YEUEdXRh

Symon joined Zix at the corner table with their drinks, and they toasted their successful journey; they had reached Thraben early in the afternoon, and if they were going to steal from the church of Avacyn, they were going to do it after nightfall. Passerby in the tavern gave the stunted, covered figure and his human companion suspicious looks, but on a plane as turbulent as Innistrad this was par for the course.

"I'll admit, I'm glad to have you around, tallboy. Don't know if I'd make it up here so easy without you as a guide."
"Thanks, Zix. Always glad to know my travelling has a purpose."
They sipped their ales, and Zix leaned in. "So, how we going to get a chunk of the Helvault?"
Symon looked around for eavesdroppers. Satisfied, he responded, "The Helvault shattered back when Avacyn broke free. Most of the pieces of silver were forged into weapons by the lunar-smiths."
"How many are there?"
"Not all that many. Luckily, I know for a fact there's one here."
"Okay, where?"
"Cathar by the name of Sampson Purcell. He's... important. Local hero moved to Thraben for his deeds, a common story."
"Seems easy. Shank him, take the weapon and never look back?"
Symon was visibly uneasy. "I'd rather not. I'd prefer to be welcome anywhere on this plane after our little heist."
Zix sighed. "Fine. We cover our faces, take it quietly and leave the sucker alive for another day. Whatever makes you happy, buddy." he said venomously.
Symon smiled. Venom was just how the goblin showed genuine care. Maybe.

Innistrad's silver moon floated high in the sky when they left the tavern. Two figures quietly skulked across the city, towards Thraben Cathedral. Once close, the smaller one muttered a few words and began to vanish. Symon watched his companion fade, then peeked around the corner. Purcell, along with a troupe of cathars, on watch. His silvered blade hung from his left hip, glinting softly in the torchlight. Symon took a deep breath, adjusted his face scarf, and thought back to the wolves from that morning.

Sampson Purcell looked up at the moon. The cursemute may have cut down on his job security, but it also reduced the dread associated with that silver orb. When he wasn't constantly reminded of werewolves by its mere presence, it was quite beatiful. A sudden howl, from alarmingly close, broke his train of thought. His troops and him unsheathed their blades as two wolves charged them. How'd they get this far into the city? No matter, they were here and they were hostile; they must die.

Zix invisibly crept closer. Symon's wolves had already torn up one of the cathars, but they weren't going to last much longer against the remaining soldiers. Come on, he thought, you need something bigger. Purcell looks like a tough guy, he can handle himself. Symon must have come to the same conclusion, because a few skaabs appeared from around the corner too. Purcell was still fighting hard though, and stealing the blade seemed impractical.

Symon watched uneasily as they continued fighting. He just wanted Zix to grab the sword so he could unsummon them and stop killing cathars. The job wasn't done yet though, so he conjurd up some more skaabs he saw back in Nephalia to join the fight.

Purcell swung and swung. Where were they coming from? He cut them down quickly but his unit was breaking from the pressure. Why would a stitcher be attacking them at the same time as the wolves? This made no sense. Crashing in the distance. Screams. More wolves joined the fight.

>cont.
>>
>>46954030
Zix saw more wolves rushing in from the other direction. Good, he thought, maybe a flank will help us out. With renewed vigour the fighting continued, and now Purcell was dropping back. Zix waited and waited, ignoring the screams of cathars being ripped apart by wolves, until Purcell was almost ready to shut the cathedral's gates. Zix fired out a burst of mana at his hand, and the blade dropped to the ground with a clatter. He reached out and grabbed it, whisking it away; Purcell barely noticed in the pandemonium, and slammed the gate shut. Zix tucked the sword into his cloak and sprinted from the scene to rendezvous with Symon.

A few minutes later they met in an alleyway back near the tavern, the bustling of the city providing a soundtrack to their meeting. Zix produced the sword, and Symon allowed himself to exhale. "I can't believe we did it." he said.
"Yeah, we did good though. The wolves coming in from the west was a good touch."
Symon froze. "From the west? I didn't make any wolves after the first two."
Zix frowned in confusion. "Wait, then where did they come from?"
In the ensuing pause, they both noticed the bustling of the city getting louder. And closer. And that it was less like bustling and more like yelling. Looking out from the alley, they saw torches in the distance, getting closer.
"I think it might be time for us to go." Zix declared, stepping out into the street.
They tried to slip past the crowd, to stick to the alleyways, but more mobs seemed to be coming from every direction, and soon they were surrounded by the teeming masses.
"The cursemute is broken!"
"We're under attack!"
"Avacyn's forsaken us!"
"Avacyn's ASSAULTED us!"
Zix was struggling to keep up with Symon when someone roughly grabbed his arm and tossed him into the middle of a circle.

>cont.
>>
>>46954058
"This stunted beast came into town today, and scant hours later once normal people turned back to lycanthropy!"
"Look at his hands!"
"Look at his face!"
"See his skin!"
"Burn the demon!"
"Kill the witch!"
"Restore the cursemute!"
In a panic Zix searched the crowd for Symon's face, some sign of what to do, where to find him. He found none. One of the mob grabbed at the sword sticking out from under his cloak.
"Where did you get this holy blade, heathen?!"
Zix yanked back on it, and the mob began to frenzy.

He had no choice.

They would tear him apart.

He screamed an invocation, and time slowed.

Then, it stopped.

Zix's body was frozen. That had never happened before. He could think, but he could not move. What felt like hundreds of angry cityfolk were on all sides, suspended in time and space. Zix focused on Ravnica. On his tiny apartment. He had to leave, but he couldn't walk away until he let go of the timestop. He needed to be gone as soon as the world began moving. He mentally prepared himself, and idly scanned the crowd. Symon, barely visible, watching the mob in horror. Incapable of assisting. Their journey together was over. A tall wooden building in the distance, with a glow nearby. Fire. The city was going to burn tonight. Most distressingly, silhouetted against the silver moon. Angels. Zix had never seen so many at once. Descending upon Thraben. He had no way of knowing, but something told him their intentions were not peaceful.

Altogether, more than enough reasons to leave Innistrad and never come back. Time began to crawl back into motion, and Zix gripped the sword tight. By the time the mob reached him, he had vanished, sword, cloak and all.

>fin

As a nice side effect to this story, Symon is a "free agent" again, so people can put him in stories and actually have it make some sort of sense! (Same with Zix, obviously) (use my snowflake plz)

Thanks, I need to work on how the battles actually work in a narrative, but I really like Belloski and got excited about the prospect of an altercation between the two flakes. As for timing, I had intended it to be before Zix and Symon's adventure, but I saw the other story as I wrote it and so changed it to occur after they parted ways- probably a few days or weeks.

Anna and Symon preview

“Maybe it's just part of an elaborate trap on my part to keep you here instead of hiking across the planes.” Anna wore a faint smile as she watched him work.
“Then I'd say that I've been in worse cages,” He finally stood up and stepped back from the notes, prompting Anna to do the same, “besides I can't go hiking until this is done.”
She looked at the notes, recognizing where he was going with his train of thought, but sure that she had already dismissed it. “Of course you can,” she told him, not looking away from the notes.
“Not with you,” He grinned and Anna looked him in the face for a brief moment before looking away.
“Anyway,” she said, eager to change the subject, “I recognize where you are going with this, but the only river that would fit that would have been around during the Onakke times is around Lesh, and that's too far outside of Onakke territory for a vault full of their precious artifacts.”
“Yes, it's the only river that exists that fits the description.”Symon confirmed, Anna was about to say something then she stopped as the light went off in her head.
“Oh,” she exclaimed and went to get her maps, “ a dried up river the runs through the ruins.” She took her pencil and and began to mark places on the map. “Unfortunately they don't show dried up rivers on maps.”
“And forests grow over thousands of years,” Symon reminded her.
“Do I look like an amateur?” She asked circling mountains on the map.
“No, noooo, not at all,” he shook his head innocently before adding in quickly, “amateurs don't often miss dried up rivers.”
“Anyway,” she huffed and showed him the map, “we find the most likely places based on the information.”
“Then find the ruins that look like they would have been heavily guarded.”
“Or just burst into the ruins and go through every room until we find the vault.” She responded looking at the map. “But your way is nice too.”

After an hour or two of walking through the woods, the pair came upon the ruins her notes and Symon's help had pointed to. “So clear every building?” Symon asked her rather smugly as the ruins they'd come to were expansive but had what appeared to be a temple further in at the center.
“Of course,” Anna said and pointed at the temple, “of course we'll start with the building most likely to contain it.” With that, she walked forward towards the temple
“Are you sure?” Symon asked while bringing up the rear, “I believe I see at least three buildings with more than one room uncollapsed, those seem like perfect candidates for ancient ogre treasure trove.” He pointed to overgrown structures as she just kept walking.
“You can search them if you want, I'm not stopping you.” She waved her hand at him as she went into the temple. The inside of the temple was lined with iconography of the Onakke and what she assumed were their gods and the floors were littered with the bodies of what she assumed were ex-adventurers. “No need to panic,” she told herself as she stepped over some fresher bones, “they most likely stumbled upon this, I should be able to get through this.” She reached her magic to feel for any traps and a ball of fire began to turn in her hand. Scanning the room, her foot stepped down on a skeleton's arm. Anna took a deep breath to calm down and felt a cold hand touching her shoulder.
A second or two later the screaming, mostly on Anna's part, stopped but Symon hadn't stopped laughing. He was slapping the skeleton's hand against his knee as he was working on regaining his breath.
And that's the story of how Symon died

WELP. I have some notes. Not a true writefagging, but kind of a narrative of what his life could have been like. Again, let me know if it is too autistic for words which it might be. I kind of gave this some aspects of a fairy tale, in terms of how the narrative flows and reads. So be prepared for maximum faggotry. You have been warned. Again, let me know if it's not to your liking and I will scrap it and try again. Please forgive me, I have down-syndrome kthx. Now to embarrass the fuck out of myself.

Gaia and Will were in love long ago. It was before William’s spark had ignited. They met when he was still a young man and student. When he saw her, standing by an old bridge outside of town, he thought he had fallen into a dream (cheesy as fuck, I know. But if I’m gonna do it, I might as well go full on Beren and Luthien with this shit). Sometimes, he looks down at her face and wonders when he’ll wake up from that dream.

For Gaia, Will made her feel young again. Every moment with him was new and fresh. He was charming and saw the world with an intelligence and passion that she’d rarely seen, particularly in one so young. She loved his drive for knowledge, and how freely and eagerly he wished to pass that knowledge onto others. With him, she tried to live as a mortal does, and she was happy.

They were sweethearts throughout his apprentice years, and their relationship continued after he had gained a teacher’s position at the prestigious wizard’s college. She often attended his lectures, not to learn anything new about the nature of magic or how to cast spells, but just to hear him speak. They would talk at length about the histories of the world, and share one another’s philosophies late into the night. They worked well together.

Will did not learn of her true nature for many years. When he did, his reaction surprised Gaia. He was of course intensely curious about the concept of the multiverse and the Blind Eternities, but he did not accuse her of lying to him or joking, not once. He believed her on her word alone, showing incredible trust. Such an open gesture of faith once again reminded her why she loved him so. That day, she showed William another plane, one that she often went to to have some time alone. She called the world Haven, since it had not yet given birth to any intelligent races and therefore knew no other name. It was a small and gentle world with a sky of pink haze and violet clouds, where the green grass rolled off of the hills and spilled over into the calm blue waters of lakes and ponds. There were no predators here, only plants and the occasional small herbivore. It was nothing like the bustling city Will had known, and he loved it.

It wasn’t long after this that William proposed to her. She eagerly accepted and they were married a few months later in the presence of his friends and colleagues. They were happily married for several years. They bought a house together in the city, one that was close to William’s work. It had an expansive study with a large telescope, from which Will often scanned the heavens and dreamt of worlds beyond. Even then, he had a drive to see what lay beyond the veil of creation, to know the deepest truths of the world. Of course Gaia sometimes brought him with her to other planes, but she had begun to worry about what an overexposure to the multiverse might do to his psyche. So far as she knew, he was planar-bound, and she saw how it hurt him, to know that there was so much more out there but that he had to rely on another to see it. But their lives continued on peacefully nonetheless.

During that time, Gaia bore him two children; the eldest a son named Timothy, and the younger a daughter named Ellen. William couldn’t have been more proud of his children. Timothy showed a passion for exploration and discovery, and though Ellen spent much of her time playing with her dolls in the mud, he knew that her own wanderlust and curiosity would grow with age. The four of them lived happily in the city, as any family might, with no neighbor the wiser as to their truer natures.

A few more years passed, and in time Will became a well-respected scholar. His own intellect combined with his knowledge of the planes led to him publishing several theories on the nature of magic and time in the national wizard’s journal. This act drew national attention and made his name known to every scholar in the civilized world. He began to publish his works and findings in books. There was not a major library on the continent that did not bear one of his tomes. Though he was younger than his contemporaries, he was a genius on the theories of energy preservation and spatial distortion. Some were envious of his prowess, but most respected him and built upon his theories.

But it was around this time, when Timothy had turned 12 and Ellen 7, that Gaia came to him with some troubling news. There was something that required her attention, an old off-world alliance that she had to honor. She had to leave him and their children for a time to see to these events, but she promised she would return soon. He asked her to take them with her, but she responded that she was not willing to risk their children or him. Never before had he felt that she’d talked down to him, never made him feel the stark difference in their age and experience. But here it seemed that she did, and it hurt. They had a heated fight, something that was rare in their relationship. In the end, Gaia told him that lives were at stake, and that if she did not go many innocent people would die. And so, reluctantly, he conceded to her point. That night she tucked her children into bed and read them their favorite bedtime story. She told them that she had to go away for awhile to see some old friends, but that she would be back in time to take them to the spring festival. They were sad of course, but perked up when she promised to bring them gifts from her travels (but only if they were very good for their Papa). After they had drifted off to sleep, soothed to bed by her humming and lullabies, she went to Will. The two of them shared a few tender moments together, despite their earlier conflict. He did not want them to part on sour terms, even if she would only be gone for a short while. And then she left, spirited away through the aether to lands and wars Will could only dream of.

Time passed. The fall became winter, and the winter gave way to spring. The spring festival came and went. And still William heard no sign of his wife. The children at school bullied Timothy, teasing him that his mom had left because she didn’t want him. He became troubled and often got into fights.

Please. I'm going to do one last writefag, one to get Belagir out there, then I'm going to just toss him to other writefags. Then I'm going to abstain for a bit. Give the torch to someone else for a bit

What do we know about Valla? Basically nothing?

>>46965551
It is home to the supernatural storm known as the Immersturm, where the residents of the plane engage in constant battle with one another.

No prob. Lol, I liked the ending.

Otherwise, I'd say it could be longer. You know, more descriptive, more detailed. But the heavy use of dialog is an interesting way to approach the story.

How much of your original body is needed to keep your spark?
>>
>>46968524
Not much. Urza was a head.
>>
>>46968524
None, but the soul can't pass through the 'dead' state, it has to have continuity or be preserved somehow. This is how Karn is a planeswalker: He had Glacian's spark (which never ignited in Glacian's lifetime) and Urza's spark which were both stored in the mightstone/weakstone for the duration of Urza's existence as a planeswalker

>>46968573
That was before the Mending, when planeswalkers could shapeshift into literally whatever the fuck they wanted just by willing it.
Nowadays, all being a planeswalker grants is the ability to planeswalk (though of course, that gives a huge advantage by itself), rather than the phenomenal cosmic power being a planeswalker meant by default prior to the Mending

This.

The I would guess that the best answer to >>46968524 this question is "enough to keep yourself alive."
