Post your OC Donut Steel Mary-Sue faggots that you're proud of and worked hard on. I shall start.

Serpent Lords Chaos Warband:

>Founding: Unknown

>Progenitor: Unknown, though possibly Alpha Legion or Ultramarines; records and relics also indicate blacked-out heraldry and colors.

>Devotion: Chaos Undivided; actively worship all four Chaos Gods

>Organization: Slightly above-strength compared to Space Marine Chapters, composed of 12 Orders (Companies):
>1st: Veterans
>2nd: Sorcerers and Diviners; keepers of ancient and forbidden knowledge as well as Warband traditions
>3rd: Nurgle-devoted Order composed primarily of Plague Marines.
>4th: Witch-Priests; Apothecary/Chaplain hybrids that are in charge of spiritual health and the growth of the Warband through induction into the Mysteries of Chaos and creating new Marines.
>5th: Temple Guard; special Order that serves as guards aboard their Fleet.
>6th: Slaaneshi-devoted Order; primarily use hallucinogenic drugs and terror in close combat with moderate Sonic Weapon use
>7th: Tzeentch-devoted Order; make heavy use of warp-weapons and flame weapons.
>8th: Khornate Order; use Chain weapons and fight to shed as much blood as possible
>9th: Slaver Order; hit-and-run experts that specialize as hunters and predators who prey on the weak to feed the ritual sacrifices
>10th: Armored Order; tanks, Helbrutes, and Daemon Engines are their bread and butter
>11th: Fleet Officers and Boarding Troops.
>12th: Initiates. Sabotage and intel gatherers.

>Lord of each Order is a part of the Conclave led by the High Priest Tezca (functionally Chapter Master)

>High Priest has bound and is also bound to four Greater Daemons (one of each God) who act as advisers to the Warband and direct mouthpieces to the Gods, guiding their actions and missions.

>Fatalistic in the extreme - believe in divinely ordained actions, and believe in prophecy to the extreme, to the point where it dictates their every action.

Additional fluff:

>All members are Soul-Bound to the High Priest and to the Lord of their Order; a Soul-Bound individual cannot directly disobey a direct command of the High Priest or their respective Lord. In addition, Soul-Binding means that members feel an instinctive connection with one another, and fight in much better cohesion and get along remarkably well for Chaos Marines (though rivalries and hatreds still certainly exist, and defection/disobedience isn't impossible and has been done before).

>Soul-Binding is a very dangerous and difficult process that most Initiates don't survive intact - those who don't are sacrificed to the Dark Gods as offerings. A Soul-Binding that doesn't take fully often results in the rapid devolution of its recipient into a Chaos Spawn.

>Slaves and ritual sacrifice are HUGE in their divinations and rituals - probably half of their operations are purely to get more slaves. More important rituals require more important slaves - consecrating Terminator Armor before battle can only be done with Astartes blood, for example.

>Believe in self-sacrifice and automutilation; nothing is free. You have to give something up in order to get something, often in the form of a pond of your own flesh.

>Cannibalism of non-Serpent Lord Astartes is often practiced, even encouraged. Human cannibalism is a daily occurrence and essentially required.

>Blood is the most important component of any ritual, but other holy materials include emeralds, turquoise shell (which they embed in weapons and armor frequently), bone, and gold.

>Regional Power that's allied with the Black Legion; in exchange for spreading Chaos and destruction in their region and fighting for Abaddon when needed, they often receive intel and support from the Black Legion. As long as they serve the Warmaster, they have complete control and authority in their sector of fringe space without worrying about Black Legion infringement.

Iudex's tomb ship is a massive jail, housing anything from overlords straying from the Silent King's wishes to long dead prisoners of war from the War in Heaven.

The court generally agrees with his methods, but any dissaproval is only spoken of in secrecy.

>Officers keep acting like bigger and bigger assholes, Fabius Bile is fucking with their geneseed
>Champion of the Palatine Blades leads whoever is willing to follow him in a mutiny, slaughter officers and their supporters, Bile barely escapes alive
>See themselves as damned in the eyes of their primarch and the emperor
>Avoid direct confrontation and instead set about defending the inhabitants of the Imperium, particularly against the xenos threats that are being ignored due to the heresy
>After the siege of Terra the remnants of the formation launch a brutal series of strikes against the Emperor's Children who betrayed the Imperium
>By the time they finally reach the Eye of Terror less than 100 marines remain in their force
>Robute Guilliman eventually decides to allow the remnants to be reformed into an understrength chapter, officially they are declared an Ultramarines successor chapter and are given a world in Ultramar
>Chapter is called the Shining Blades
>>
>>46936603

I actually named a couple of the members of the warband
>Aulus Sextilia
High Champion of the Palatine Blades, Aulus Sextilia was recruited into the Emperor's Children just 30 years before the Horus Heresy and quickly ascended through the ranks in large part due to an innate skill as a swordsman, never defeating in a duel. Despite his skill with a blade and decent leadership capabilities, Aulus never accepted a promotion to captain, instead remaining as part of the Honour Guard of the 1st Millennial, and outside of the formal legion structures, High Champion of the Palatine Blades. Taken as part of a force tasked with hunting down the survivors of Isstvan V, Aulus ended up leading the astartes in III legion in a mutiny against their officers and being made de facto commander of the newly formed warband. Originally serving as an inspiration for the men under his command, as the heresy dragged on he became increasingly unstable, becoming obsessed with his role in hunting down and killing enemy commanders. Becoming the first chapter master of the Shining Blades, he was killed during the Fist Black Crusade after having hacked his way through a horde of cultists of chaos space marines.
I have three sets of rules for him, one as a simple champion, one when he first took leadership of the warband, and one towards the end of the heresy.
The first is a simple champion with artificer armour, a volkite serpenta, and a charnabal sabre besides that he has +1 to his WS (so WS 7) and gives his unit +1 WS on the turn they charge
The second is a praetor with a master-crafted paragon blade, thunder hammer (both taken from dead officers after the mutiny), and an iron halo. As above he is WS 7 and gives his unit +1 WS on the charge
The third is identical to the above except instead of providing +1 WS for his unit on the charge he now can make all of his close combat attacks instant death for a single fight subphase

>Gnaeus Aemilius
A captain of the first millennial, Gnaeus Aemilius was the oldest member of his legion not interred within a dreadnought. Having served in the pacification of the Solar System, through the entirety of the great crusade, he took Aulus Sextilia as a protege and only survived being sent to die on Isstvan III due to Aulus' intervention. Despite serving his legion through the Isstvan campaigns and in the pursuit of the loyalists, he was never trusting of the other officers he fought alongside and found their increasing apathy towards victory disgraceful and their increasing disregard for the astartes under their command unnerving. Joining Aulus in his mutiny, Aulus offered him leadership, but he turned it down due to the distrust most of the marines had towards him. He was eventually killed during the Horus Heresy by a group of blackshield chymeriae.
He doesn't have special rules but is a simple centurion with a charabal sabre and bolt pistol
>>
>>46936626
>Septimus Viviana
Another member of the Palatine Blades and a long time rival of Aulus Sextilia, Septimus Viviana was renowned as the fastest swordsman of the entire legion. Only bested in the duelling pits by Aulus, the two were nonetheless considered equals, Aulus was the more skilled of the two but Septimus was by far the faster of the two. Having had laten psychic powers unknown to even himself, Septimus had an awakening on Isstvan V as he slaughtered his way through the Iron Hands. Sent as part of an honour guard to help hunt down the survivors of Isstvan V, Septimus helped lead the officers of the legion into a trap after the initial mutiny failed to kill them all. Serving throughout the Heresy, Septimus would end up becoming the second chapter master of the Shining Blades, eventually slain by the Eldar Phoenix Lord Jain Zar.
In game terms his rules are a ML 2 praetor with artificer armour and a charnabal sabre. He also has +1 initiative and gives his unit +1 initiative on the charge (which stacks with the EC's legiones astartes rules). End result is that he is initiative 10 on the charge if he uses his charnabal sabre. Not really useful, but he sure as hell is fast.

A Rogue Trade Dynasty who got enstablish when The Emperor was still walking among us.
Went out of luck until in recent times they managed to get their dirty hands on a planet rich in Gas and Minerals, populated by mutants rat like creatures who live underground.

Thanks to an error from the Administratum, the Rat people got classified as "office supplies" and are now being used as a slave force, mining and as servants.

Thanks to some missionary, The Rat People worship the Emperor and his "GIANT SKYBREAKER" refering to the drill who broke their cave roof.
The Inquisition is investigating the matter, because Rat People have become the main buyers of little figures of the Emperor, only to break off the sword and put a power drill in it's place with some duct tape. They are not sure if this is Heretical or not.

I play this as Inquisition Allied with Imperial Guard. Rat People are used for ratlings and in heavy weapons squads as mules.
Inquisition troops are the Household troops of the Rogue Trader, Rogue Trader is a Ordo Xenos Inquisitior.

Imperial Guard hailing from Pihjan sub-sector has been major strenght in fighting near Eye of Terror. Hailing from four planets they have strenght in numbers and capacity to supply their own troops.

>Pihjan Primaris
>Industrial World
>Population: 20 Billion

Pihjan Primaris is the work horse of the sub-sector. Producing high amounts of goods and military equipment. Imperial Guard hailing from there uses multiple only Pihjan made variants of common fighting vehicles. Imperial Guard Regiments are major export for Pihjan Primaris to keep the ever growing population in check. Houses Titan Legion and vast shipbuilding industry.

>Pihjan Secundus
>Waste World/Mining World
>Population: 2 Billion

Source of the sub-sectors riches. The heavy pollution has turned the planet into wasteland. Imperial Guard hailing from there has to use vehicles due to planets hostile environment. Mainly armored/Mechanized units.

>Pihjan Tertius
>Agri-world/Cardinal World/Knight World
>Population: 700 million

Planet has heavy presence of Ecclesiarchy which tries to fight against Knight Houses and Planets Governor for power. Only tithes are food and service of Knight Houses along the Titan Legions.

>Pihjan Quartus
>Death World/Prison World
>Population: 100 million

World too close to sun. Rich in resources, it was decided to employ cheap prisoner labor to mine the metals. Trips to planet are usually one way trips as population usually stays there after mining theur freedom. Only way to get out of the planet is to either be firce drafted to penal legion or join Imperial Guard. Even in harsh semi-underground environment population rises.
Creators note: This system was created to be a powerhouse. Not just some backwater shithole or some gimmick up to eleven. These planets literally deploy millions of soldiers every year across the worlds around Eye of Terror.

Do you have any criticism?

Lions Sanguine.jpg
21 KB, 400x500
>>46935374

The Lions Sanguine were created during the 23rd Founding with the mission to retake territories lost to the Imperium of Man during the dark times of the previous millennium. Their most notable action during this period was in countering the extensive amount of uprisings and raids that spread around known space that arose in the wake of the elusive 7th Black Crusade.

Two-hundred and fifty years of pursuit, purge, and recovery led the Lions Sanguine deep into uncharted territories, often acting as one of the few bastions of Imperial authority for allied forces in these unexplored regions. It was here that the Lions came across a number of human colonies isolated after a variety events, from the numerous internal conflicts of the 36th Millennium, to the Horus Heresy, and some even left untouched after the tumultuous Age of Strife. Because of this, the Lions not only found themselves taking on the role of warriors, but gatherers of knowledge and diplomats when official representatives of Mars or Terra were not available.

After approximately fifty years of this period of exploration, the Lions Sanguine found and secured a recruitment world of their own, in the now mostly-compliant Skyllian Sector. The world in question, a moon in orbit of a gas giant, was known to the locals as Mahtan, a civilized world organized as a number of city-states, and containing an extensive repository of knowledge deemed safe by the religious authorities of both the Lions Sanguine and the Ecclesiarchy itself.

Despite these positive aspects, the Mahtani had suffered under periodic raids by not only the Dark Eldar, but the forces of the Dark Gods for centuries. There were even signs of Tau scouts in the system when the Lions first arrived, who worked alongside elements of the Inquisition to uproot before they had a change to annex another bastion of humanity.

>>46947733
After two decades of dedicating themselves as the sentinels of Mahtan, their decision to officially name the moon their homeworld was welcomed by the locals. The Lions traded knowledge with the Mahtani, adding the discoveries they deemed safe for mortal eyes to their archives, and assigning the studies of the locals to their own Librarium.

In addition to the Mahtanis' dedication to knowledge, the Lions Sanguine also found numerous worthy recruits from the ever-popular bloodsport events Their primary purpose was to inspire unity between the city-states by organizing their greatest athletes in dangerous feats of strength, cunning, dexterity, and combat, but the Lions saw additional purpose. From there, they replenished their numbers after fighting-off numerous raids by the Dark Eldar and Chaos pirates, and eventually preparing to face their wars against the Tau expansions and other threats that lurked in the unexplored regions of the Skyllian Sector.

As their name would probably imply, the Lions Sanguine are descended from the Blood Angels, and like their parent chapter, have their own Sanguinary Priests to treat their brothers and preserve the geneseed. However, unlike most chapters that derive from the Blood Angels, the Lions do not suffer from the Black Rage often enough to have a dedicated company to organize them. Because of this, the chapter almost sees the affliction as a legendary event, viewing those that befall the Black Rage to be the embodiment of Sanguinius' will. It is, however, still widely seen as a tragic thing to happen, and dangerous if not contained, especially when brothers must say goodbye to one of their own, who is then sent on a suicide mission into enemy-heavy territory where they must fight until they die.

Although the Black Rage is, in a way, seen as an unfortunate gift, part of the purpose of the Lions' fixation with gathering knowledge is to try and find a way to curb the effects of it, or even halt it entirely. Con't

There has been little success in this regard, but the Sanguinary Priests work closely with the chapter Librarians to sift through any medical lore they may find, hoping to find some inkling of knowledge that could send them in the right direction.

Peculiarly, the Lions Sanguine noticed during their time on Mahtan that its locals seemed to have a higher-than-average birth rate of psykers. Imperial authorities in the sector consider it an acceptable rate, provided the Mahtani and the Lions comply with tithing those not deemed worthy for the chapter's Librarium, although there is belief that an Inquisitorial ally is protecting the chapter and the people of the moon by allowing them to take on additional Librarians.

Due to the prevalence of the Librarians and Sanguinary Priests, they oftentimes act as important advisers to company captains on expeditions, and frequently acting as designated force commanders when a captain is not immediately available.

Lastly, the Lions have a close relationship with the people of Mahtan, and because of this, serving as a chapter serf is seen as a very prestigious path. Men and women may choose to sign-up for a five year-minimum cycle as a serf, many of whom end up as crewmen of various levels on the chapter fleet's ships, but those that choose to turn their tour into a career may see themselves rise to personal aides of officers, Sanguinary Priests, and even students of the Librarium.

Those serfs who have proven themselves in many aspects may eventually be promoted to the rank of Ship Master, the most esteemed role of a non-Astartes Mahtani, even beyond the city-state nobility. These Ship Masters have complete command of their assigned vessels; Lion captains, while holding authority over Ship Masters, typically keep to advisory roles unless necessary, as the chapter prefers to have its officers focus on combat first-hand, leaving conflict in space to those that cannot fight on equal footing.

Les Chevaliers de l'Ordre de l'Ange de Vindication, or simply Angels of Vindication in low-gothic.

>Founding: Second Founding
>Progenitor: I Legio
>Location: Segmentum Obscurus, Halo Stars
>Homeworld: Normendie
>Strength: Well over-strength, they maintain the numbers of their old expeditionary force, 3,000 Brothers split up into three Grand Companies numbering 1,000 each.
>Doctrine: Fast Attack, the Angels of Vindication believe the only way to fight the greenskin is to give him no ground and be in a state of perpetual motion. Bikes, mechanized infantry, armor, and aircraft all see heavy use over more static methods.
>Battle Cry: IMPERATOR VULT!
>History: The Anges de Vindication were originally a Dark Angel expeditionary fleet sent into the galactic north to scout for humans on the fringe of the galactic plane during the end of the Great Crusade. On the eve of the Horus Heresy, daemons beset the fleet and massacred a significant chunk of the Astartes and Imperial Army soldiers. The Legion-Chapter found a lone feudal world in the abyss of the Halo Stars and used its firstborn sons to replenish their ranks. However while bringing the world into compliance an Ork WAAAAGH hit, and the Chapter refused to evacuate due to being indebted to the natives. The war lasted for three years but in the end the outnumbered defenders slew the Warboss, routed the Orks and massacred them. Contact with the Imperium was reestablished after the Heresy and destruction of Caliban, much to their grief. During the Second Founding the now-Angels of Vindication swore to see that this small sliver of humanity would not be left to die in the distant galactic plane. Since then and over the course of numerous wars of expansion, the Angels have forged a booming human civilization in the sector in spite of the odds that may very well stand a chance at surviving the perils of the future.

Muh quads.

>Beliefs: Due to their history, the strife both parties have faced has forged a very close bond between the Chapter and the people of not only their homeworld, but the Sector born from the planet. Much like the Salamanders Brothers maintain close contact with their relatives even upon ascending to the ranks of Initiate, for it is the belief of the Chaplaincy that it is the distance between Space Marines and mortal men that breeds heresy. Intermingling with their people on a daily basis reinforces loyal bonds, and presents a clear image of what is to be lost if they turn their backs on humanity in favor of Chaos. This has fused with the feudal nature of the sector's culture, resulting in the Grand Houses often keeping relics from their many uncles who were taken by the Chapter, helms, swords, or even bolters, relics to be taken up by the next generation of the House chosen to serve. They also have strong bonds with the guardsmen they fight beside. While the old Houses are now ten thousand years old, consist of numerous sub-houses and the members of a single family house may out-number the entire population of an Agri-World, Brothers still take pride to fight alongside their distant cousins, nephews, and nieces against the Green Tide.

>Sector of deplyment
Nomad chapter, they usually hang around at the extreme fringes of the Eastern Imperium. Contact with Tau and Necrons has been frequent, but both these enemies are seen as odd and unsatisfying

>Organisation:
Fleet based, the Chapter moves as a whole body, eschewing the Codex Astertes and even the simple ideas of military ranks, resorting to a completely tribal organisation.
The only official ranks are the Soul wardens (chaplains) and Seers (librarians).
There are no designated companies and the warriors are grouped in thight bonded squads, devided by their field of specialization.
The chapter master is called High King, and his Jarls (captains) comprise his council and personal guard.
When duty calls, the High Kings nominates one or more Jarl to guide his brothers into battles, and the Jarl is free to handpick whatever squad he sees will be useful to him for the mission.
This has the function to encourage rivalry between squadrs, who compete to outshine eachother at the eyes of their lords.
Home lords have grown attached to certain squads and always pick them, while many are chosen mostly on the Jarl's favourite tactics and style.

Yeah, I don't play standard 40k at all anymore and exclusively just go with HoR Kill Team, because I love its emphasis on small units and Your Dudes.

And because it's cheaper due to its small unit size, I can have multiple factions of Your Dudes easily.
