OP, talk to her in a non-threatening situation (that means "when you're alone"). Ask her if she's having fun and likes the game. If she's nice about it, just tell her there's been this thing on your mind, that she does X. She might perceive it in one way, but you do it in another, can she see why that would be annoying?

It's strange, in ten years of gaming I have encountered the opposite, even LARPing (probably because I avoid the personal oog drama there).
My first group was pretty split on the gender divide, one who is an amazing GM usually plays male characters to avoid problems they have had in the past with that guys.
They seem more story focused an intent, an the only one who was really a drama and attention whore was my ex wife, and even she got better at table etiquette.
Honestly it's the quality of people you associate with, I've played with big girls who play small beautiful characters. I've played with pretty girls who play intentionally ugly brutes. And everything in between.
The moral is, play with friends. Also, other people don't owe you their appearance. Some people are fat, some people are skinny, some people are ugly, some people are beautiful, and some people have BO.

It's true that there are a lot of women who won't give a guy the time of day if he isn't fit, but it's also true that there are a lot of women who dig men who are overweight or even on the lower end of obese. Confidence is everything in those situations: there are plenty of guys who are overweight or obese, so she's going to be choosing on the basis of personality.
The latter number grows over time. Women who've had time to grow up and get to their mid-to-late 20s start to sort out what they really want vs. what they think they're "supposed" to want (the same thing happens to men, though it usually hits in the early 20s rather than the late 20s) and become a lot more accepting.
It does help to be tall. Helps you carry the weight better. If you're short, you might want to look into shedding a bit. I'm 6'1", 250 pounds, very little muscle, finally had my first girlfriend when I was 23 and she thought I was the best thing ever. She was 27 and only about 10 pounds overweight.

I practice what I call, "actively poor listening" techniques.
If they are being obnoxiously attention seeking, I respond briefly, ask no follow up questions, avoid eye contact, and generally act polite but not engaged.
Being polite with your words is important.
Then, when she does something positive like good roleplaying, paying attention to others, and engaging more in the game than getting someone's attention, then you reverse it.
If attention is the reward they are seeking, don't reward bad behavior by focusing on it.
Instead, withhold attention when they are bad and reward good behavior with what they desire.
In my experience, this works well with children, dogs, adults with special needs, and crazy old relatives.
Point: This works best when everyone is on board.
If they can feed off the attention of one person, the effectiveness is lessened and the chief benefit is that the bad behavior simply won't target you.
