Hey guys, sorry I was away for a few days, I posted nsfw shit on another board so got banned lol.

Anyway, let's get machine civ back on the road.

60 drones
+ 4 drones a turn
7 leaders (6 named)
Buildings: LAB and LARGE-STOREHOUSE. Wall to the north that protects us from the average volcano eruption (volcano has been found to be highly unlikely to actually go off fully like when Ashen were created)
Civilization: Religion worshiping Father Volcano and the Queen Asigui of Metal life(?). Leader-bots have an evenly distributed number of drones that obey them. Nodes take the imprints of Leader-bots minds so that the Leaders don't need to micromanage everything.
Military: One Named is decked out with weaponry, about a dozen drones can fight effectively, all drones can be retrofitted to fight after a turn but won't be as effective at normal work.
Technology: all basic shit (tools, knowledge of construction, bladed weapons, basic unpacked explosives). How to create more drones from scratch. How to build more Leaders though until population of drones meets 100 it takes concerted effort to make leaders. Mining. Metalworking. Bronze working.
Autopsies of malnourished and battered Harpie pair has been done, as has analysis of broken Drones and a damaged-but-now-repaired Zealxi.
>Resources: plentiful access to metals and rocks. A local mine.
>energy: cooler lava flows can be accessed and the energy can be stored in now mk2 energy batteries.
Neighbours: a small dwarf clan that has a small farm outside their cave. Friendly.

3d100+30 tech rolls
3d100 melee rolls
1d100 for range
1d100 for diplomacy
1d100-30 for breeding
1d100-60 for magic
A Research
B Build
C Breed
D Diplomacy
E magic
F you add
>>
We are a machine civilization called the Ashen Ones who originated about a 6 months ago from a volcanic eruption that spewed out globs of molten metals, lightning or the Gods hit it and turned it into life.

Our society is drones led by Leaders, 6 of whom are named.

Our lab gives a free research every turn and also helps out with pretty much everything.

I will wait for a bunch of replies. If there are lots then I do every 15 minutes.
>>
>>46926783
A. Research the ways to better understand magic
Welcome back.
>>
>>46926927
:)
>>
>>46926927

I'll second this to get things rolling.
>>
Rolled 87, 12, 83 = 182 (3d100)

>>46926927
Barely noticed I didn't roll. Fudge.
>>
>>46926927
Sure. Thirding.
>>
We can do two actions and the lab does auto research action too.

So we have research of magic understanding, what else?
>>
Rolled 4, 22, 70 + 30 = 126 (3d100 + 30)

>>46927570

Make a grossly huge and pointless colossus soldier for the sole purpose of convincing the dwarves we're God.
>>
Rolled 2 (1d100)

>>46927648
That would be regular 1d100 roll, Anon. Also, I don't think we have the tech for that yet. Let's build up our relationship with the Dwarves with gifts and trade deals.
>>
>>46927684
apparently anon used his godly powers to smite that attempt.

>one anon wants to become the gods of the local dwarf civ
>another anon tries to do diplomacy with the dwarfs instead of ruling over them
>peace anon gets a shit roll

Looking good for any lovers of war and slavery.
>>
>>46927762
No fair. ;_; Dwarves are cute and should be bros.
>>
>>46927857
waiting for more people to join anyway lol. I would probably just make our machines not understand how fucking valuable some of what they think is worthless and have dwarfs get an extremely good deal while we get a shit one.

This thread is near the top of the cateloge so it shouldn't take too long to get another bunch of people.
>>
Rolled 87 (1d100)

Rolling to be Robros not Douchebots.
>>
>>46928350
In case it wasn't clear, that roll is for not pretending to be gods.
>>
Rolled 5, 94, 93 = 192 (3d100)

>>46928350
>>46928385
And with that counterroll out of the way, rolling to work on lava barricade.
Make it stronger, and have it divert the lava flow instead of trying to stop it.
>>
Rolled 75, 53, 74 + 30 = 232 (3d100 + 30)

Wait, OP, wasn't there a really good roll last thread for developing lava storing, flamethrower troops?

If not:
>>
>>46928497
yeah, near the end a few people mentioned lava throwers. I forgot to add them into the list of stuff we have.

>technology for making turrets that fire lava blobs (sort of like crude plasma lasers) exists
>two semi immobile drones are built that specialize in defense, and are set up on top of the lab.
>>
>>46928574
New to this civ. Any particular threats to be aware of?
>>
>>46928829
Volcanoes blowing up and evil Harpies.
>>
Okay, I will allocate the three choices from what it looks like the consensus:
learn about our machine's comprehension of magic. (success)
diplomacy with dorfs (had failed)

Writing up now, though if everyone could roll for the dip success then I can adjust it.
>>
Hello guys and welcome back OP.
Lets back to work!
>>
Rolled 94 (1d100)

>>46928860
If the volcano produces obsidian, how about a turret that launches clusters of it like flechette ammo?

>>46928963
Dip-dop.
>>
Rolled 10 (1d100)

>>46928963
>>
>>46928963
I thought Dr. Light's roll helped. I guess not.
>>
>>46929014
Anon, we have a slot free to a new leader. You can name yourself if you want
>>
The Named Ones decided that they needed to discuss alternate forms of energy and what they might be able to do.

Zealxi briefly mentioned how she had seen the dwarfs doing things that she couldn't understand. She had originally forgotten that she had seen one of the short meat creatures bend small steel rings just by looking at it, though it was clearly exhausting to the slightly more well dressed dwarf.

This lead a yuge discussion on various theories, and a word was made to cover the idea of this new form of changing things via ones mental abilities that are not covered by chemistry or physical abilities. MAGIC!

>Magic as a concept now exists

The dedicated lab leader-machine works on after the others go about their usual downtime activities and allows the Ashen Ones to have some measure of reduction to magical influences.

>>46929014
>>46929027
>>46929031
it helped sort of.

2, 87, 94, 10.

>the named ones then decide to further foster diplomatic ties with their dwarf neighbours, perhaps hoping to be trained in magic in the future. A selection of non military goods are put up together into a trade barrow and taken with some guards to the struggling Dwarf Fortress.

Unfortunately the trader-bots brought along the Dub-Step Drone, assuming the Dwarfs would react to the beats as well as the Ashen Ones.

Twas not to be. It sent the dwarfs into fury and the diplomatic overtures failed miserably.

However, when the dwarfs threatened the machines and prepared to chase them off due to the beats, the sound also attracted other creatures.

A swarm of harpies come to see what the fuss is about, and start flying towards the dwarfs aggressively, probably due to not liking the smell of dwarfs.

A: Help the harpies (same civ as the starving harpies, but those guys were just lost or failed at some action)
B: help out the dwarfs, hopefully salvaging relationship in some way
C: fap in a corner watching them genocide each other
D: run away to get reinforcements
e:>write in.
>>
Rolled 39 (1d100)

>>46929388
>A: Help the harpies (same civ as the starving harpies, but those guys were just lost or failed at some action)
They didn't like our phat beats, fuck them.
>>
>>46929438
we vote on which to choose, then depending on if it's combat or not then that affects which dice to use.
>>
E> Lets wait to the end in the fight and lead the victory to the dwarfs. They will be almost over. We can use then for slaver or try another relationship forged in the hearth of battle
>>
We can use the foods from the dwarf to trade with the harpies or use the food to control them
>>
>>46929388
>B: help out the dwarfs, hopefully salvaging relationship in some way
>>
>>46929046
Done and done.

>>46929388
>A.
The dwarves don't really have anything we can't already do. Plus we'll have something new to dissect.

Dub-Step Drone, execute Bass_Drop.exe
>>
They may have a map or some usefull knowledge. And we can use their farming ability, we dont have any experience on the topic.
>>
>>46929388
>B: help out the dwarfs, hopefully salvaging relationship in some way
>>
>>46929923
We can salvage maps, and any truly useful knowledge would have been scribbled down, making the only barrier a linguistic one. As for agriculture, we could just work off of what we've observed them doing.
>>
So the choices seem to be

2 votes for helping Harpies
Drixin seems to be the main component in enslaving the dwarfs and establishing regular trade with harpies

Zealxi is the component for helping out the dwarfs to reestablish diplomatic ties. She has garnered some support too.
(2 votes for dwarf helping, 2 votes for harpy helping, and 1 vote for enslaving dwarfs after watching them fight with harpies for a while)
>>
>>46930012

Whatever benefits our drops.

> campaign derailment
>>
>>46930012
Dwarves are dicks who don't like our beats and tried to attack us just because
>their taste>our taste
So fuck those guys.
The Harpies attacked us most likely because of hunger/thirst, I can respect that cause you gotta do what you gotta do.
>>
>>46930009
You gave me an idea. After all these fights go on, lets research something to manipulate or decode a bio-brain. Only know who the body work is not enough
>>
>>46930012
Harpies are too easily persuaded with shiny things. They can betray us more quickly.
>>
>>46930249
But we ARE shiny things. How can anyone out shiny us?
>>
>railroading players into choosing the slavery of the dwarfs due to them hating our dub-step.

Okay. Taking the side of the Harpies, whilst also making sure that we get the land and majority of resources it is.
Peaceful Leaders are forced to join in the combat, but they will be able to make a more considerate aftermath.

>>46930099
checked

>30 Harpies with the Civ-Choice rolls so 3d100
>5 Leaders (one of whom is Wrought In Iron) and 15 normal drones, 5 melee fighting ones.

On the Dub-Stepping Hating Dwarfs side (3d100 just like us and harpies - all three are exceptional at melee)

>40 enraged axe wielders swarming to form shitty formation
>80 youth and mothers who might join in if it's desperate.
>a couple of priests who if getting good rolls can make sure the dwarfs fight almost to extinction.
>>46930249
>>46930289
>>46930099
we will have to see what happens in the aftermath.
Let's get this combat rolling
>>
>>46930289
I sense there are more shiny things than us. We are the Ashen Ones. I should research metal polish
>>
>>46930304

Wait, do we roll?
>>
Rolled 39, 65, 35 = 139 (3d100)

>>46930304
Dodge, dip, dive, duck... and dodge.
>>
Rolled 24, 31, 11 = 66 (3d100)

>>46930304
Little confused with this post, not sure what I'm rolling for exactly.
>>
>>46930552
yeah

>>46930608
okay so I guess that one is harpies?

Let's get some dorf and robot rolls!
>>46930649
pick a faction to roll for. Sorry about the confusion. Watching election coverage. Fucking Hillary better lose fuck that bitch.
>>
>>46930662

You just made yourself the best OP online right now in one sentence.
>>
Rolled 57, 82, 58 = 197 (3d100)

>>46930662
Don't wanna be a dick and pick Dwarf after I already rolled shit rolls, so rolling for Dwarves now.
>>
>>46930753

> proceeds to roll dickish dubs
>>
>>46930753
kek

>>46930705
haha. Was it the fuck hillary sentence?

139 for Harpies
66 for Machines

197 for the Dorfs

writing up now.

>>46930791
ikr
>>
>>46930812

I love how 4chan is pro Trump, but makes all their civ quests become overtime socialist.
>>
As the base drops, the Harpies dive and roll at the dwarf lines, hitting them hard, half a dozen even darted at the backlines where the children were hiding with the hastily armed women.

>15 dwarf fighters are killed, with half a dozen of the more frail members in the back lines taken out. Dwarfs don't have heavy armour outside of their war leaders of which there are a couple.

Our Machines attacked the front lines of the dwarfs, taking out 5 of them. Not particularly successful, but progress none the less.

With a mighty beats-hating battle cry, the dwarfs charged, killing half a dozen drones and, when the harpies were doing their attack, managed to kill about 10 of the fliers.

A: Continue the offensive
B: fall back to get reinforcements
C: choose something else, or adjust strategy.

>>46930994
Yeah. It's fucking hilarious.

I so fucking badly want Bernie to beat the corporate shills. He BETTER win big today. Bernie is giving this amazing speech meanwhile the cable shows and major networks are refusing to show Bernie whilst they are waiting for Hillary and Trump to speak.

Fucking pisses me off.
>>
>>46931060
A: Continue the offensive
*beep boop* Fuck the turrets.
>>
Rolled 72, 72, 1 = 145 (3d100)

>>46931060

Continue the assault.

The dwarves must FEEL THE BERN OF OUR DROPS.

(dubstep roll)
>>
>>46931119

Double same number and a 1.

I almost want to say that's a positive critical.
>>
>>46931060
>A.

>>46930994
It was the same with Ron Paul.

I'm not looking forward to the Doom Trump memes.
>>
>>46931060
C - go for a 2line attack. Melee and making bombs drop to their heads. We have explosives guys
>>
Throw explosives, disrupt the enemy attack line and go for the kill in the caos.
>>
>>46931190

I used to regularly go on Reddit as of two days ago. Now I go on 4chan for just playing quests.

To give you an idea why I converted, imagine if /pol/ had power over this whole site, infecting everyone into being as racist and vile as them.

That's /r/the_donald.
>>
20 enraged axe wielders remaining, 75 youth and mothers.
Priests remaining, who have been doing quite well with making sure their fighters at least take a die fighting effectively.

Our side:
20 harpies
5 leaders and 10 normie drones, 4 melee fighters (the others are heavily battered but later we can fix them up with decisions)

Majority seem to support a continued offensive.

>>46931118
>>46931119
I take that as a 145 roll for our machine's

Let's get the other two rolls.

>>46931265
I will put that into my write up after rolls arrive.
>>
Rolled 50, 4, 12 = 66 (3d100)

>>46931374
Why imagine when you can have the dad. I had to stop visiting my parents because the atmosphere grew so toxic you could cut it with a knife.

>>46931378
Dwarves, I guess? Here's hoping it's bad.
>>
>>46931535

Sorry to hear about that anon.

Still, good job failing at rolling!
>>
Rolled 76, 74, 11 = 161 (3d100)

>>46931378
Harpies, to get things moving.
>>
145 for machines
161 for harpies
66 for them dwarfs.

WOP WOP BRRR BRRR wub wub

Wrought In Iron wields his dual-swords and hacks apart a handful of axe-dwarfs. As he does this, the drones and other Named Ones join in, killing another 15 dwarfs.

The last remaining dwarfs backed by the support of the priests who have ramped up their prayers. Backs to the wall, they swiped another 15 harpies down, and smashed another 5 drones, damaging 3 of the Named Ones.

The harpies close in for the kill, furious at their losses, and kill the remaining dwarfs, and running amock amongst the sparsely armed youth and women.
>>
>>46931920

Can we resume normal action rolls now?
>>
>>46932058
yeah, the priests all died. It's now the aftermath.

>choose what to do with the defeated Dwarfs
>how to distribute the winnings, as the harpies will expect some reward for the big losses (though harpies are exceptional at breeding so they can make that up reasonably quickly)

>repairing
>maybe kill all remaining harpies and take everything?

pick a selection as many as you want (they all tie into each other)

Let the harpies keep all the loot.

Lets try and convert the dwarves organic "life energy" that we observed during harpy dissection into bass energy.

Our military must be nothing now but weaponized fat drops.
>>

Give the food suplys to the harpys and lets research something to decode the dwarfs brain
>>
>>46932239
>>46932226

Similar path brah.
>>
>>46932161
Recover our fallen for repairs or recycling.
The harpies can have food and shiny stones or whatever.
Allow the dwarves to live "under our supervision" for protection and cultural exchanges.
Research brain–machine interface.

Cyborg dwarves, here we come.
>>
Sweet, harpies getting loot and well fed while the machines get the settlement and dwarf cadavers along with remaining population that are now slaves and guinea pigs for us to use.

Repairing of our damaged comrades and rebuilding them with attempts at cybernetics.

Will write up soonish, but it seems there is not many people even after having 6 hours to join.

But then I don't want to end while we have a chance at gaining more players.

:( lol
>>
>>46932762
That's the way she goes. Sometimes she goes, sometimes she doesn't. She didn't go this time 'cause that's the way she fuckin' goes.

Had an insanely busy day so I haven't been able to post, but I've been lurking. I, for one, have enjoyed this thread.
>>
>>46932944
thanks!

Does anyone have any pics that are relevant to our cybernetics stuff?
>>
Today was a goodday for the Ashen Ones. Lets continue our Civ when you have some time OP. I'll try gather some images to our next thread. Some Anons dont show up today. More people are in, sometimes some people drop. Lets move and see when we go
>>
>>46933137
yeah. I am just trying to collaborate the information we have.

I will probably continue every couple of days.

How many of our guys died or were damaged?

>The battle against the Dwarf neighbours was a short but brutal clash. Many Harpy allies were lost, and for their part in stopping the dwarfs from having an calm battle formation, the 5/30 who remain are given as much loot and food as they can possibly take with them back home, and they are told to invite a delegation to pick up the glorious dead and hash out more permanent trade and diplomacy deals.

While heavily battered, the leaders of the Ashen Ones decided that they had had a mighty victory, claiming the Dwarfs as slaves and the cadavers as property of the Lab.

Broken drones were experimented upon with connecting dwarf with machine. Much of it didn't really succeed, but huge leaps in comprehension and progress was made. A couple of cyborg-dwarfs are built but only time will tell if they will live long or not.

>two cyborgs are added.

Due to this greater depth of machine and dwarf (and a much more fresh harpy that died but was not noticed to have been taken away during the battle by one of the drones) that too can make some more progress, as the previous dead harpies were very malnourished and had mostly decayed except for bones that have been stored in a cupboard of the Lab.

>drone production has increased by 2

Will post the summary next.
>>
50 drones
+ 8 drones a turn
7 leaders (6 named)
Buildings: LAB and LARGE-STOREHOUSE. Wall to the north that protects us from the average volcano eruption (volcano has been found to be highly unlikely to actually go off fully like when Ashen were created). Dwarf cave and farm.
Heavily battered at the moment.
Technology: all basic shit (tools, knowledge of construction, bladed weapons, basic unpacked explosives). How to create more drones from scratch. How to build more Leaders though until population of drones meets 100 it takes concerted effort to make leaders. Mining. Metalworking. Bronze working. Rudimentary Dwarf-borgs. Electricity.
Magic: Basic understanding
Autopsies of malnourished and battered Harpie pair has been done, as has analysis of broken Drones and a damaged-but-now-repaired Zealxi.
>Resources: plentiful access to metals and rocks. A local mine.
>energy: cooler lava flows can be accessed and the energy can be stored in now mk2 energy batteries.
Neighbours: Enslaved Dwarf Clan of about 60. Harpy civilization within Dub-Step Bot Range of Sound.
I still am going to be maintaining this thread today, just going to let more posts pick stuff.

I might try start a quest I have been thinking about running.
