So, with that being the reaction to a Messiah Bel, I'm guessing a Non-Messiah Overlord of Bel would be kind of a smite-on-sight kinda deal?

What are some good jumps for shrinking
not yourself but other things
i know marvel and MCU let you get Pym particles in jump and DC,Arrowverse and Young Justice could let you learn from the Atom but I'm looking for a perk that not knowledge or tech acquired in jump

Oh well, that's about what we'd expect, really. We'd be kind of freaked out if someone from another universe came and told us they were our son and to not genocide everyone because giving love and peace a chance is the only way to win against Chaos.

A messiah's work is never done, gah.

I listed the greatest examples I can think of in the other post but Dresden Files has entropomancy, which focuses and channels bad luck. Dresden used it to kill a vampire by fating a frozen turkey to drop from an airplane on it

Well, one big problem about Amazo Backup Memory is Young Justice Anon recently said it only works with scientific powers and the majority of probability manipulation seems to be supernatural in nature. Observer is...really hard to tell whether it's scientific or supernatural because of the primacy of the Azure and Boundary in Blazblue's metaphysics, which are essentially massive reservoirs of Seithr as well as the origin of life so it's really hard to say if Observation, an ability inherent to a mechanism that oversees this phenomena, would be able to be translated into tech. Guru and Mega-Bomb would be better bets but even the calibration of an entire probability manipulation ability/preprogrammed spell to that degree is itself a massive undertaking since few if any magic systems have that potential of complexity in the first place. Or Digitised Sorcery from Fate/Extra. Actually the Compounded Calculation Shard would be better due to the project's sheer complexity.

Even then there's no telling how long it could take to attain infinite precision, and this doesn't even get into questions of interchain metaphysics and jumps where time is a dragon.

Or a woman.

Or the invention of some asshole who likes making people fight in battle arenas.

Or an Outer God's dream

I can work with that, thanks. Maybe point out the Megido Arc and other atrocities He's commited, or tell her about the truly good Gods in other universes? Sorry if I was being rude with the questions, by the way. Though I'm curious, why would YHVH react rashly to Messiah Bel? It's the same Great Will, right?

Applying evolution energy to 'domesticated' Grimm.

Thoughts on end result, and any other modification processes you'd want to apply.

Humanoid, sentient Grimm. It'd be interesting to see what kind of civilization and culture they would create. Actually, on that note, do we have perks that can grant them souls? That might help.

>the invention of some asshole who likes making people fight in battle arenas.
Who's this? Sounds vaguely familiar but I can't place it.
>>
>>46909157
Because it's never actually shown in the actual game - the entire thing is based around the aftermath of the Device's activation (post-sabotage).

but essentially, it destroyed almost everything in that section of the world - reducing portions of the world to floating islands, turning people to statues made of ash, exposing old tunnels that were located miles under the earth and turning those same tunnels into sky islands-

It's an Apocalypse Bomb essentially.

Towards the end of the game Rucks makes a cannon that works similarly. Nowhere near the same scale.

Keep in mind, the Arc is built in the future. Might want to save that line for SMT2.

Ostensibly, DS God and mainline YHVH are the same being. But in practice, one is relatively (key word here, remember God's Thunder) reasonable, while the other is a tyrant who while not malevolent simply does not care for humanity beyond their use to him.

>>46908941
Put it this way: Originally the King of Bel entity was a being who ruled over the world, and God/YHVH/the Great Will shattered him into pieces which became other demons because...supreme demon overlord. Apparently in the game Abel has the same level cap as YHVH in SMT 2, to boot.

And before you ask the game does not clarify how he got along with Lucifer, but clearly he didn't think much of him considering he didn't give a crap about the lockdown either way.

>>46908982
Dresden Files (if you're a changeling with the Multiple Choice capstone and have a good Sidhe lineage) and Gargoyles (Fae Blooded).

>>46909077
Not sure and I might be wrong, but from what I understand the YHVHs you interact with in individual SMT games are part of the Great Will in the sense that organs are part of a human-the Will doesn't usually take a personal interest in them (and it's a plot point it DOES finally get mad at YHVH's shit in Final), it just sort of lets them manage the infinite multiverses on their own initiative.

And SMT 1 YHVH is a bit of an Old Testament hardass. In Nocturne Kagutsuchi, another aspect, said the Great Will once allowed free will to flourish and it led only to doom and ruin. So presumably, from his point of view you're about to screw things up for Him.

If Somefaggit is here I have a couple questions about the shapeshifter perks from Gunnerkrigg Court:
First, could we use it as a sort of bootstrapped healing factor to shapeshift our wounds close or to regrow severed limbs?
Second, can we transform into something like a swarm of wasps or does every part need to be physically connected?

>>
>>46910128
The capstone booster one definitely lets you do both of those, doing the wound closing with the non boosted version might cost you more blood at first, but can be a handy way to close wounds when you lack normal methods. As for the fully connected body parts so long as things are roughly close together direct... Connection or contact is not entirely necessary, though it is advised. This does mean the perk lets you do helsing style, 'blood back into my body' healing. Or just have some floating hands. If you are a swarm of bees though and some fly off then the smallest group dies. Not gonna say specific distances because the nature of that perk makes things weird, but if people cannot tell it is a swarm of bees it stops metaphysically holding those parts of you together.

It would seem that I'm one again unable to talk. To make matters worse it would seem that every chest I come across is actually a mimic. Most aren't too hard to deal with, some require bit more effort. Apparently the world has gone through a dramatic change since just a few decade ago, luckily I wasn't around for that.

I didn't do much in terms against the main plot of this setting. I didn't feel the need to chase after Dark Adepts and the crazy stuff that goes on. I just personally explored as much the world I could. I hope my next trip is more eventful than this one.

Make sense?

>>
How deadly is irradiated food and water to humans? Just curious about how likely I might die of Rad poisoning in Fallout.
>>
I have a question about the Specialist perk tree in Evangelion (which I heard allows the construction of Angels/Evangeions)

Does anyone know if the things you create are default loyal to you? Or how you essentially make them post jump without the orange tang? Are they like mass production EVA's? Can I make angels rivaling the stronger ones seen in the show?
If I make an EVA do the companions I have pilot them have to have mental issues?
>>
>>46910963
I envy him, then. I wish we all upsetted you that much and enough to leave for good.

>>46911021
You mean, just regular radiation? From what I understand it's a gradual thing-you don't instantly die but over the course of days or weeks the leukemia and stuff like teeth and hair falling out sets in, and based on the nuclear engineers that sometimes frequent these threads a bomb's fallout is apparently much worse than a reactor's fallout? Since Fallout is the aftermath of a nuclear war I imagine it'd be pretty intense

But then again you don't inevitably die of it in the game of course and there's medicines everywhere for it so it's hard to say where game mechanics end and actual setting lethality beings, really
>>
>>46911021
So-so. Unless you're drinking ultra irradiated water or eating fish, you should be fine for the ten years in jump.
Riddled with cancer, yes, but also alive.
>>
>>46910929
It's not a dick measuring competition. just because ASA said it last thread doesn't mean someone else can't mention it.
I know bancho doesn't have the best ideas sometimes, but you give him more shit than he deserves sometimes. Even he has sense enough to pass over the namefags he doesn't like, and he doesn't have the privilege of just filtering ASA, like you can. Just get over it, your salt isn't necessary or welcome.
>>46911021
It's pretty bad, depending on where you're going. Any prolonged exposure and you're going to want some resistance, whether it be rad-x or a resistance perk.
>>
>>46911021
Every 200 rads give you an additional penalty from radiation poisoning. At 1000 rads you die. Radiated water gives 16 rads. Radiated food depends on the item, but it's usually much lower. Radiation isn't too hard to get rid of if you're careful, too. So make sure you've got clean water and you can ignore food issues, mostly.
>>
>>46911079
Definitely not angels, just evangelions-and they needed bits of Adam to make the latter. If they could make angels they wouldn't have needed pilots.

No, they go berserk and that's why you need to wield metal on them/inside them, to keep them restrained.

You need the orange tang so-you probably gotta steal the Adam embryo to make more.

Hard to say; the MP series seems to run on more advanced systems than the regular EVA units considering they get up from being butchered with no problems.

You definitely can't make angels though.

And probably, it's kind of needed to synchronise with the things.

>>46911109
You had to have been there. He was much worse in the past, and drove off some people he didn't like.
>>
>>46911145

>>
>>46911145
Been here since 238. I know how bad he is.
>>46911197
stop, you're just going to make things worse.
>>
>>46911079
The things you create are definitely NOT loyal to you by default. You'll need to lobotomize them and lock them in cybernetic restraint suits just to keep them from killing you. They're honestly the worst idea for minions you could get. LCL is probably not required, though you'll need some sort of Angelic biomatter to clone them from. And you could make stronger ones, but I wouldn't risk it. And yeah, trauma is required unless you can come up with a much better control system. They're controlled by the souls of murdered mothers, if they're not piloted by their traumatized children they won't work. The base technology requires trauma.
>>
>>46911145
Is it that I can't make angels with those perks alone and that I would need more science and Spirit/magic perks to make them? Or that it's not possibke flat out?

The metaphysical biology perk says I get the foundational knowledge to understand even angels and can manipulate the mechanics of the soul easier. So I assumed at least, later, much later in my chain, an angel should be possible.
>>
>>46911250
The reason I asked if theres loyalty is because, well, thankfully theres a perk that guarentee's it for things that I bring to life or create myself called Shapers Authority from Evo search for eden.
>>
>>46911253
I'd go with it just not being those perks alone. It would give the foundation, as the perk says, but to make something that powerful is going to take a lot of research on your own.

>>46911303
Yeah, definitely take that, then. Evangelions you create will know you're responsible for their existence, and they will not be happy with you.
>>
>>46911341
Wait, what? I was hoping to create the eva's conciousness I can make a concious speel via necromancy from geneforge or maybe at least make those hulking ultra titans as host for my AI companion. If it involves literally harvesting mothers souls and shit I'll skip out on it, trying to be a Lawful Good jumper not a fucking monster.
>>
>>46911423
Conscious Spell*
>>
>>46911423
Well, you might be able to make a soul on your own. Even if you can, though, the Eva will still hate you. Theirs is a horrible existence. Maybe you could make a masochistic soul and that would work, but otherwise there's really no way to make an Evangelion without torturing someone. Your best bet is to create something entirely different starting from the same base science and branching off through independent research.
>>
>>46911197
Why do you hate ASA? He's a voice of reason in this community, which is a freaking rare thing.

Didn't you say you're not delusional and understand the concept of people not being the same as their jumpers?
>>
>>46911250
>>46911341
Not that anon, but it's important to note that the Eva and the mother are two different beings. While the mother may be in control of the body, the Eva itself has a limited sentience, given that Unit 01 absorbed Yui. So it's possible they might be sentient themselves. Also important to note is that Rei 1 is in Unit 00, or at least that's the theory given she has no real mother, so clones might count too.
>>
>>46911512
yeah but he gets away with so much like being a multi-verse that wears another multi-verse as armor, no one else would ever try that because of the sheer amount of wank involved.

>>46911423
Well also keep in mind a lot of those cybernetics and the 'Host the mother's soul' bit were control functions so the Eva didn't just go crazy and shit. So who's to say you need to do the same thing?

Now granted, SOMETHING needs to control them; the thing that separates Evas and Angels are that Evas are made without souls, so they're expressed via DNA. Plugging in a soul isn't going to instantly make it go berserk unless you're like, trying to rip out parts of its spine and stuff to put a cockpit in it.

Is there any point in making an Evangelion at that point?

Or is making a giant brainless monster capable of AT shaping require the whole 'I have no soul and I must scream'. Not to mention their diet.
>>
>>46911494
Definitely gonna go that route, I just wanted cool hulkin titans. I never wanted sad I have no mouth and I must scream souls trapped in the shell of a cool looking mecha.

>>
>>46911576
What are you even talking about?
>>
>>46911532
Very true, and something I should have elaborated on. The reason why being the soul in an Eva is so awful is partly because of that feral Angelic sentience dwelling in it with you.
>>
>>46911598
>He also explains himself
What? No he doesn't, have you read his pastebins?

He just throws a bunch of terms together and assumes because it's him, they work to 50000% effectiveness and catapult him with no repercussions. I may not like bancho and I don't like how he acts, but don't go saying that guy's without fault.
>>
>>46911638
Well it involves being honest with ourselves for one.

It basically breaks down to one being the community sweetheart and the other being the redhead stepchild. You can probably assign names from there.
>>
>>46911616
There...IS a way around that, actually. The Mass Produced Evangelions had two major differences between them and the piloted Evas: One, each possessed an S2 engine and a core, which not even Unit 01 had. This is why Asuka(And then Shinji and Asuka in the manga) couldn't kill them, the cores were still intact. Secondly, each had a more advanced Dummy Plug System, based around mentally retarded clones of Kaworu/Tabris, giving them a full Angel's sentience compared to even a normal Eva, though one that could be controlled. If you could replicate those, it might be possible.
>>
>>46911690

Normal Evangelions have cores, anon. You can see it in the scenes when their armor's been stripped off. The reason that the MP Evas didn't go down easily is because of the Dummy Plug. No pilot to receive feedback from the damage means they can take full advantage of their Angel-derived biology. Asuka wasn't fighting to destroy the cores because she assumed her opponents had pilots, and so could be taken down with sufficient trauma to the machine killing them. Also, the MP Evas probably still have souls in them. An Eva without a soul is non-viable and self-destructs. Maybe SEELE solved that problem, but I doubt it. What's nine more murdered women to them?
>>
Moooving on.

Assuming I've got Ensoul from Cardcaptor Sakura, the Abyssal Semblance from RWBY, some magic nodes I can place here and there to anchor ley lines to, and ye olde soul-transplanting instructions from Nechronica..

Would I be able to essentially "awaken" said magic nodes, allowing them to manage the flow of energy /and/ produce Grimm themed after themselves in times of need? Or would I need Metaphysical Biology from NGE, too?

So... here's my question. With Metaphysical Biology from NGE, 'That Undefinable Thing' from Tales of Symphonia, the books from Nechronica, and shit like Dark Souls letting you just bleed off spiritual energy in place of using souls in exchange for needing a lot more...

...what's stopping you from using the energy of your own soul to make a NEW, potentially blank soul and stuff THAT inside the Eva to make a morally sound method of granting them sentience? Hell, you could use Lord of Light's Karma Tanks to digitally transfer AI into the body as the 'personality' if you wanted to go all the way?

I admit it could honestly go either way. We don't actually have any information on their souls at all. And you can make good arguments for both directions, either that SEELE wouldn't want any souls in there because it could risk their control or that SEELE wouldn't bother to make a soulless version because they're confident they can control the scenario anyway. SEELE's mysterious, they could do pretty much anything and I'd say "yeah, that fits".

The fact that the Angelic life form you've fused that mind to is filled with hate and rage. There's not just a human soul in there, there's a horrible pre-sentient monster that wants to kill everything. An Evangelion berserking isn't the human soul getting angry and trashing stuff, it's the human soul either losing control over the monster or deliberately unleashing it. If you want an Angelic bio-titan, you can have that. But you're going to have to start at the base level and build your own instead of just modifying Ikari and Akagi's work.
>>
>>46912296
That's a fair point, actually. Actually, you know what I always wondered? Where did the prophecy come from? No, seriously, who would have that kind of knowledge? Whoever it was, they clearly provided enough information to clue SEELE in to the existence of the F.A.R., so who?
>>
>>46912350
Like two RPGs can take one down, maybe up to four if it's a big one. Energy weapons from Pre-War can tear them up, but those are rare. Just try not to melee one, and if all possible avoid them.
>>
>>46912164
I don't think I've ever shared the plan, but that's pretty much how I build all of my spiritual machinery.

Since I went Angel and dipped into the techie tree instead of buying it all, I can just tear off soul parts and put it in a container, and use tools to ensure it viably replicates certain forms of supernatural regeneration and endurance. Guilt free source of the best spiritual samples around, ready for shaping or forging, and it's self-replenishing.

Grey goo (Soul goo?) scenario is a serious danger though.
>>
>>46912259
Well, they can peel apart personal tank armor like an orange and tank a minigun fire. Depending on which part of the country you are in they might be able to flashstep or burrow or even regenerate with radiation. Heavily mine the area, then snipe them with energy weapons.

The real question is how dumb an idea it is to use the Enclave control collars to lure Deathclaws and Tunnelers to bring down Caesar's Legion/The Institute/the Rival drawback.

>But you're going to have to start at the base level and build your own instead of just modifying Ikari and Akagi's work.
Well I thought that was obvious, but yeah in hindsight that's really worth repeating to start at the very base and work one's way up. Doing a "plug and play" for something like Evangelions were never, ever a good idea.

Plus building it from the ground up gives more control over the situation, which you kind of want when making a bio-titan to begin with. But yeah, I wholly admit I'm not exactly the grand expert when it comes to NGE. I always assumed it was sane to just study fucking EVERYTHING and start from scratch instead of relying solely on the research of people under World's Best Dad.
>>
>>46912362
Hmm, at that point, could you perhaps communicate with the angel? Because Perfect Communication Skills says you're so good at influencing people that

"As long as it has the cognitive capability (even if only in theory) to comprehend something, you can not only communicate with and understand it, but manipulate it as well"

Seems like you COULD perhaps convice an angel to instead allign with the soul you put in it to do what you want, sorta like what Hohenheim did in FMAB
>>
>>46912372
Supplemental materials (because so very little is actually explained in the series itself) say that the Dead Sea Scrolls are a piece of First Ancestral Race documentation that accompanied the Seeds of Life. Then some people came into contact with it, went crazy from interacting with a communications method meant for a more advanced species, and wound up interpreting it through the lens of religious revelation. The SEELE found out about it, pieced together what was true and what was insanity, and eventually found the original message.
>>
>>46912435
Oh, well then, if you're doing your own work instead of building off an inherently flawed design, nothing would oppose that idea. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Yeah, if you actually know what you're doing with soul manipulation and crazy exotic biology, then making a sane "Evangelion" should be fine. Go nuts, Red.
>>
>>46912435
Well, SEELE probably knows some shit, given that they know a lot more than they should about the First Ancestral Race, who created ADAM and Lilith. Actually, speaking of which, maybe ask Kaworu? >>
>>46912499
I just wanted to help the guy with his own plan, honestly. We get too many arguments lately, and while again, I'm no expert in NGE, I do kind of like the idea of using the Evangelion-style body for some kind of purpose outside of "slap a bunch of near-insane kids into it and shove their mother's souls in for good measure".

There are some things I'm hesitant about though, due to how beginning of thread went. I mean for example, Symbiote has 'Enhanced Body' which makes it so organs in your body are shrunk to half-size but are way more efficient. But at the same time... you can cut off pieces to replicate them, and the jump says the effects you bought stay with it. Then we get to the fact that the S2 engine is seen as an organ.

But it's kind of bullshit metaphysical, so how the fuck does one tell if it works on that or not?

>>46912509
Oh sure, I didn't say abandon their research entirely. Just that it's a horrible fucking idea to ONLY rely on it.
>>
>>46912604
Hmm, this could just be me being stupid, but would Metaphysical Biology PhD. help with figuring the problem with the S2 engine out? Perhaps let you figure out how to go about your plan safely and successfully?

Well it claims it'd help you figure out the biology of Angels, and since each Angel comes with an S2 engine... it'd help get some kind of understanding, I think? Not an instant fix, getting a sample somehow would be best I feel, but it'd help. I mean shit, that's WHY I grabbed it. Kind of makes me wish we had more jumps with soul anatomy perks though... ah well. Patience and all that.

>>46912717
Ah, not a problem! I do want to stress though, if anyone else has other critique then please weigh in their views as well. I'm not an expert, and I tend to lowball stuff as well so I'm hardly the end-all be-all viewpoint.

...actually. Zoids likewise has a perk which lets you understand Particle/Wave duality. While it's more for turning bullets into lasers and vice versa, I would imagine the knowledge would at least help somewhat understand Evangelions a tiny bit too. A little. It's different physics, hence why I feel only a tiny bit.

But every little bit counts, right? That's only because I end up fearing for my projects that relying on a single perk runs the risk of pic related.

Most likely ditching the titan idea for a bit, at least until I understand the base mechanics of angel biology.

Via Med Tinker shard Fran, a Shaper sharded Kujira Kurokami, and me using Path to Victory, we create the "Crucible" which thanks to Hydra is an amalgum of scanning and bio-rearranging tech. Also thanks to starri tech notes it incorpates stuff like "structural analysis",my Physiomancy from shadow ops, and the "Unbelievably Malleable" stem-like cells from the crystal womb worms fro evo search for eden.

With it, I plan to hopefully grasp at the biologies of the angels/evas, and see if I can bio-fab them with the crucible, using our roach army as tests on biological tissue. Work from the ground up, make my own system instead of using a broken one like the thread advised earlier.

FF6, the one with Magitek Mastery.
>>
>>46912940
FF6... technically.

>Magitek Mastery (600) (Discount Magiteknician)
>In essence, magitek is simply the use of magical energies as a power and fuel source for technology. Your understanding of that outstrips anyone elses, and you can now apply this principle to any technology you own. By altering your devices to use something magical in nature, such as a magicite stone, an enchanted item, or just raw magical energy, you can enhance it in every single way and give it unique properties. A suit of armor would become much harder, lighter, and more agile than before, perhaps even boosting the physical abilities of the wearer in line with the magical power source. From there, the armor could make more esoteric uses of the magic, such as casting spells on its own based around the sort of magic infused into it automatically or at the wearer's prompting. This isn't some measly effect restricted to the mundane or basic, no, magic can infused into any sort of technological device to enhance its functionality and give it a partially magical nature and powers. Even life may be infused with magitek technology like this, not only as cybernetics but directly as well. In this situation, it behaves a bit differently. The magic integrates itself into their body, becoming a natural part of them, allowing them access to that magic system and enhancing them physically, but they must grow into it. They start at a much weaker level, where they have to practice and develop their connection to this magic to realize it fully. There's no upper limit to them beyond what the magic's system is capable of, but it can take time, and you can instead choose to infuse living things with a larger amount of magic to grant them greater magical ability much more quickly. Unfortunately, this can have dangerous side effects, as giving them too much to handle at once can lead to mental instability or even insanity, the severity rapidly scaling upwards the more initial energy put in.
>>
>>46912940
In addition to the Magitech Mastery from FF6 that others have brought up letting you introduce magic on an individual scale, Crystal Chronicles and FF14 both have scenario rewards that let you introduce magic on a global scale.

Has anyone claimed Lacuna: The Creation of the Mystery and the Girl From Blue City?

I have some ideas. Some dangerous, wonderful ideas. I'd say more, but a big part of the setting is dependent on the unknown and paranoia. Waiting on dropping the bigger details until I have it properly written out, to be taken in all at once, would probably be for the best.

The gist of the setting is that teams of "Mystery Agents" techno-psychically project into the minds of criminals and beat the shit out of "Hostile Personalities," which cures antisocial tendencies with a minimum of collateral on the rest of the individual's personality. Key word, minimum. This process has become a key part of the penal system for serious offenders (murderers, rapists), even though not everything about the dive tech is well understood. Blue City, for example, which seems to be a collective unconscious with distinct inhabitants of its own. Some friendly, some not.

Is there any interest?

I'm going to be going through Young Justice and updating things to account for all the rulings I've made (mostly for Amazo's Backup Memory), as well as to lower the price of some of the options (Immortality, Vehicle, Batman's Real Superpower) to be more appealing. I'm also going to be adding a new companion option for a project Cadmus clone of yourself (suitably weakened, like Superboy is in comparison to Superman), and replacing the boring "lose all of your powers" drawback with one based off of Match.

This shouldn't affect anyone's builds unless they decide to go for the new companion option or one of the lowered price options, since I'm not going to be raising the price of anything, nor will I be changing the descriptions of anything in a way that would radically change how it works.

Are there any other clarifications/questions that I should answer, aside from the ones regarding Amazo's Backup Memory?

Just out of curiosity, how many miles away can you hear things with Super Senses hearing, and how much further can you hear with extra purchases? How many times do you need to buy it to hear whispers from long distances?

Pretty much the same question again but with Sight, or is it effective as long as you have line of sight, with other purchases if you wanted to see further with X-ray vision or infrared? Or see the moon with clarity from earth or something.
>>
>>46916666
For hearing, I'd say around 5 miles, with each additional purchase adding around another 5 miles of "coverage". Whispers you would stop being able to hear at around the 3~4 mile range, so at around that level for each purchase would be where you stop hearing whispers, (8~9 for the second purchase, 13~14 for the third, etc.) with you being able to hear pretty much everything above a whisper in the miles before that. Sight is a bit harder to quantify, but at the first level you would be able to see things at a microscopic level when you're holding it directly in front of your face, and still be able to make out fine details (like writing) at around 100 miles. Things increase from there, and because of how eyes work you're going to be able to see things much better at any distance- while you might not be able to make out celestial objects from outside of our solar system, for example, you could probably spot, say, Neptune in the night sky, and see much more than other people can with the naked eye.

Here we go, a Fountain build.

Jump #558, The Fountain
Age: 2+(3*8)=26

Roadblocks:
Naught But A Man (+600)
Let's do this one without powers, as this is as much an internal journey as an external one.
They do not Understand (+200)
They wouldn't believe me anyway.

Total CP: 1800

Natures
The Past: Explorer. Our past self will be a male trader, travelling between towns or crossing oceans. Our future self will bestow on us "Time Apart". It's not great but it will do.

The present: Seeker of Wonder. Let's go for a female antiquities student in this time. To help that facet of us out, our future self will share 'Sense of the Then' and 'Sense of the Now' with our earlier self.

The Future: Witness. We travel to document the life and times we find ourselves in.

Stolen Moments (0/1800)
Sense of the Now (100/1700)

Build notes:
Didn't take Perfect Time or most of the Physicality perks as we've got others that do similar, and I'm hoping they won't be vital in this jump.
Opted for All Together Now because I already have perks which retain my sense of self, so even as I'm incorporating new personalities into the gestalt, that gestalt stays "me". Perhaps it was always "me"?
It was intensely tempting to pick the Book of What Was, but I've sworn myself off of altering my own timeline as a temptation that might be deletrous to indulge in, both immediately and further down the track as a gateway to wholesale temporal/causality manipulation. That kind of thing has a habit of spiralling out of control, from what we've seen.
The wording of the naught But A Man drawback seems to imply we don't lose our perks so long as they're not super-whatever in nature, so stuff like bravery, martial arts training, smarts, and physical condition up to human maximums seem to be acceptable.
Not entirely sure what I'll do, but muddling through is something I'm good at and I've done similar jobs before.

>Notes to SJ-chan:
1) The Physicality perk "Perfect Health" I think has a typo and should be 400cp, not 600cp, unless Physicality is meant to have two perks at 600 and none at 400?
2) Good to see you stuck around.

>He just throws a bunch of terms together and assumes because it's him, they work to 50000% effectiveness and catapult him with no repercussions.
>because it's him
>50000% effectiveness

I am outraged to the point I don't have an insult bad enough to call you by for this occasion.

But to condense my retort: Has it ever occured to you if I GENUINELY thought like that, I wouldn't BOTHER to waste hours of my time planning this shit out in a logical progression of events? I know I'm not infalliable and I don't get across my point well sometimes. But if I didn't care at all, I would just take a single perk and wank that it wins forever, rather than have it work in synergy with a bunch of other assorted doodads from across the chain and beyond.

But don't take my word for it. Here: Every relevant pastebin I've ever written.

Kindly point out exactly which parts make no sense, smack of hubris or lack coherency. Bear in mind the SMT ones were written with an extremely favorable bargaining position due to jump events and no OOC outside guidance after I asked for some.

Bonus points if you find the phrases "50000% effectiveness" and "because it's him" in the plans somewhere because I very much remember NOT making these assumptions.

You want to know what the most frustrating part is? A while ago people stopped giving feedback entirely, when prior I was COMPLETELY okay with taking it into consideration, possibly because of what others have beought up. You are effectively blaming me for something that's completely beyond my control; I can't very well use feedback that doesn't exist can I? And more to the point-I HAVE asked for feedback from both chat and thread, taken it on board and implemented it in the past when FEEDBACK WAS ACTUALLY GIVEN. I completely reject the assertion I ever outright ignored any of it.

But in the spirit of not having whatever happened to you guys happen again I'd like to extend a request for constructive criticism NOT to be shouted, assuming there is in fact any to be offered. I personally think it's better to get it out in the open than stew in resentment and end up with the presumption I don't care about it at all.

141. Avernum
Location: Off The Map
Origin: Drop-In, Race: "Human"
Perks: Artifice (-150), Crystal Magic (-300), Magic (-100), Magical Barriers (-300), Natural Mage (-600)
Items: Cash (-50), Map of Avernum
Drawbacks: Amnesia (+200), The Empire's Eyes (+300)

This jump seems to have some minor formatting issues.

I arrived with a bucket of chicken in my hand, and I am in a whole in the ground. That's about all I know. Also, there's is a spider here and they seem to think I'm the most adorable thing. I'm not sure if that's true, but it's nice to hear. I think the spider is the most adorable thing and it seems to love that idea. The stalagmites think the stalactites are the most adorable, and that's why they rise up to meet them. I disagree, but they take no offense. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

This is all interrupted by an angry demon attacking us. It doesn't take long to kill, because I am made of lightning and my will can sever flesh. That was nice to learn and I feel much safer now. Spider says we should eat bugs, but I decide to finish my chicken first.

I wander for many days and eventually do eat bugs, and Spider is happy to accompany me. Caves don't feel strange, and I am told that I am the tallest of the rats. The rats don't seem to like me much though, at least at first. But I am persuasive to tiny creatures and can talk to them much better than Spider can. It's not long before I have countless of them following me, and I do help them cooperate rather than compete. I even change some of them so that they are bigger and smarter and can speak to Spider. And they fight alongside me as we make our way through the underworld. We need constant supplies of food and water and often have to fight for them. The humans are the best fighters, and often have the most food. The lizards are a close second, and are tastier than people. Like chicken. The Nephilim are bastards, but a bug in the heads of most rats makes us like them too much to eat them.

I was just asking about the jump you are making but ok????
Though if that is the case, then it is in the fanwank territory. That why it is why jump is a single player experience. I think, I may be dumb.
>>
>>46917725
Oh shit, my bad-no I'm not making a jump, these are just some combinations of powers and resources from other jumps I put together ages ago to put into effect certain outcomes as detailed within

It is indeed a single player experience but I've personally always looked at how things work for me personally with a certain logical progression of interactions instead of handwaving everything to instantly win like what the other guy was claiming-and being accused of such is what galls me

>>46917700
Ugh, I regret this already. If they are, I at least hope this gives them no ground to stand on to try it again in the future. On the off chance they aren't, I want to make it clear their assumptions of me are completely off-base.

It was either that or fanwanking the enemy to be so powerful that nobody can defeat them even with 250 +++ perks. There is no way to satisfy everyone. At least you try and it shows. Take Heart in that.

Project Cadmus Clone: Project Cadmus cloned you, in secret, in case you ever needed to be destroyed or replaced. Luckily, your clone was released with Superboy (and yourself, if you are a Human-Kryptonian hybrid) before he/she could be programmed to suit the Light’s needs. He/she has all of your powers and abilities at around 1/10th of your power, and although he/she lacks your skills and knowledge beyond the basics of how to function your clone is a quick learner. Your clone’s appearance and personality are up to you, though they probably look like a younger version of you. They’ll treat you like an older sibling, or possibly a parent- in any case they recognize your seniority and experience and act accordingly. If you yourself are a clone as a result of becoming a Human-Kryptonian Hybrid, your clone will still look like you. (600 CP)

Thoughts?
>>
>>46918218
Should be at least 800cp, but it otherwise seems good.
>>
>>46918218
Eh, I'd rather the clone just had only all the powers you buy in the jump at normal capacity than try to figure out how on earth Cadmus cloned a Stand into them. Maybe give the clone the option of taking drawbacks too?

>>46918218

That price sounds better, yeah.

>>46918244
I mean, I know at least a few people became Half-Kryptonian Mystics, which probably means that some wizard contributed, willingly or not, their DNA to your creation, so spiritual/magical abilities aren't out of the question. I don't even want to think about the logistics of how a Half-Kryptonian Mystic who bought Chaos/Order magic was created.

>>46918281
Funnily enough, I replaced the "lose your powers" drawback with one where you get a hostile, Doomsday style clone of yourself. So you could be a clone of Superman, have a clone of yourself, and have your clone have a clone of himself. That being said, I probably won't give the clone points to spend, or allow it to take drawbacks.

>>46918304
Yes.
>>
>>46918240
I feel like 800 CP is a bit much when your clone is only 10% of your power. Then again, I take YJ early rather than when I'm ready to fight Darkseid. Maybe adjust the scaling so they're as strong as you are or about as strong as your average Young Justice Member, whichever is less?
>>
>>46918327
Can you choose who your human donor is? Also can we get the option for blond hair for male Half Kryptonian? So instead of our DNA coming from Superman it would be from Supergirl or Powergirl (I assume they're a thing in YJ).
>>
>>46918604
I think I'm going to have the price be 800CP, but have powers that you purchase in Jump be at full strength for your clone. I might also make it so that he/she gets new abilities at 1/10th their strength as you get them, but I'm not so sure about that.
>>
>>46918675
I wouldn't I tried something once and it really got people upset
>>
>>46918675
Why not model it after little sister in Slice of Life? They gain a good percentage of your powers.
>>
>>46918675
I'd rather you not include the new abilities thing. For SoL it was done at a time when the divide between CYOA and jumpw as a lot vaguer and it seems too meta a thing to be offered, just focus on what defines the setting rather than all this interjump meta stuff.

I would honestly be fine with just a clone with full strength powers from the jump and nothing else.
>>
>>46917547

As someone who is trying to get more savvy about how seasoned Jumpers chain all of their perks and skills together to actually DO intriguing or fantastic (or insane) things beyond their obvious uses, I found the writeups useful.

While I can't say that I'm bright enough to follow or understand everything at a first glance, the SAS girls and Kaleid Hero Style were particularly of interest to me.

Thanks for posting them.
>>
>>46918675

>>
>>46918665
They aren't, at least from what we've seen/heard in the two seasons/comics/game that we have. And yeah, male Hybrids can have blond hair. As for the human donor I don't see why not.

>>46918690

>>46918700
>>46918719
>>46918737
>>46918750
>>46918752
After mulling it over a little bit more, I think I'll make it so that the price is in the 600~800 range, existing powers are at 1/10th strength, with powers purchased in this Jump at full strength, and no updating of powers afterwards.
>>
>>46918675
Oh, you could add the Bio-suit stuff for Martians and shapeshifters to use. On that note, a Stealth or Winter costume transformation to the Costume item, since it looks like Alternate Costumes are actually different outfits.

If it wasn't for the Agent for Shields I'd say a shields item would be cool, but the only way that would work is if it's incompatible with the drawback.

Also, does Vehicle allow for things like the motorbikes that can split into a drone and a unicycle? That was cool.

Companions do get the stipends right? Vigilante Companions get 300 extra to spend on items, while Superhumans get it for Super Powers?
>>
>>46918752
>bitches

From an earlier time, when standards were different. My argument is based on the fact that it goes beyond the scope of what's thematic for the setting, yours is solely based on interjump balance.

>>46918763
That sounds like a reasonable compromise though, I can accept that.

Suggestion: 600 CP for a version of the clone with only in-jump powers, 800 CP range for having all your preexisting powers at 1/10 strength? More options, more fun!
>>
>>46918763
If you're also making it so that they get everything in the jump at full power, you should definitely make it at least 800cp.

>>46918775
Or this.
>>
>>46918780
>so that they get everything in the jump at full power,
Pretty sure it's everything you purchase in the jump, not everything in the jump.
>>
>>46918763
I think Bancho is referring to an item import in the Infinicon jump which can duplicate any artifact from any example of fiction whatsoever with a wholly arbitrary softcap that didn't really diminish the item at all.
>>
>>46918803
Yes, that. My bad.
>>
>>46918803
(Which, given they're taking 800CP out of your budget, is likely to not be all that much)
>>
>>46918807

>>
>>46918775
>From an earlier time
I don't remember anyone objecting to Hivemind from Libromancer.
>>
>>46918780
I don't think you realize if you make them 800 CP you only have 200 CP without drawbacks for powers. Even if you max out on drawbacks, that's still 800 for 1200, which is a pretty lousy ratio.
>>
>>46918813
Can't you get up to 3000cp though? Potentially getting 2200cp of stuff is a lot.

>>46918831
It's 800 for 2200 anon.
>>
>>46918818
That was in PS238. InfiniCon had a genuine knock off of any item that's limited to no more powerful than "Ironman's armor". Which considering some his armor are pretty powerful, that's not much a limit.
>>
>>46918763
I included an option to have Cecil Holmes retain his gimmick if you paid for him as a companion. And since his gimmick is acquiring super equipment or mutations via dimensional travel he was essentially a companion who gained new powers as he traveled with you
>>
>>46918840
I don't see how it not being in Infinicon has anything to do with the current subject.
>>
>>46918831

You and I remember Libriomancer jump's development very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very differently then. People were objecting to a lot of things especially during the course of the jumpmaker's conduct. I wouldn't be surprised if it was overlooked from people being sick of critiquing it to no avail. In any case I would point out there's a nuanced difference between an ability that lets you clone yourself (like the capstone from Teen Titans too) and a companion with all those boons (and the potential to gain even more from imports) but I feel disincentivised to elaborate on them with you when you seem to be grasping at straws.
>>
>>46918872
I repeat my question, people were pointing out the various options Bancho had that involved other jumps from the one they were in, it wasn't just talking about Infinicon and indeed, Bancho himself talks about PS238.

Bio-Suit I actually just put in, but I forgot about the camouflage modes that they had so I'll put those in as well.

As for the Vehicle, that seems reasonable. The description says "normal" vehicle but that was really just so someone wouldn't get the idea that they could buy a Martian Bio-Ship for that low price, or a ship with lightspeed, or their own War-World or something like that.

As for companions, they do not get a stipend like you do, beyond the 200~800 CP you get for importing/creating them.

>>46918901
Bancho, I'm...not sure how to break this to you but a mortal who has been instructed in SMAs is in fact an Enlightened Mortal by definition and therefore fully capable of using them.

The charms ARE the martial arts

The martial arts ARE the charms

There is no distinguishing between them

By stating you are a master of an SMA you are also fundamentally giving people a license to perform Creation Slaying Oblivion Kick-and I'm pretty sure the Oblivion Shards of Infinity top charm is actually more broken than that combo.
