Is anyone else on /tg/ playing this game? I just recently got into a Nechronica group and I was wondering if anyone had some stories or advice to share.

All in all it looks pretty fun!

/tg/ has a handfull of groups. I'm currently in one of them after a game before that lasted over a year. What characters does your group has?
>>
>>46907738

What kind of advice would you be looking for? Character building, combat, GMing stuff or what?
>>
>>46907738
I've always wondered what the "end state" of a Nechronica game is. Fighting a BBEG doesn't really feel appropriate.
>>
>>46907883
An ojou Alice with Baroque and Romanesque,
A Kuudere gun loli Automaton with Stacy and Requiem.
A simple minded Junk with Thanatos and Gothic.
And a cheerful but lost Holic with Requiem and Psychedelic.
>>
>>46908045
Successfully recovering all memories. At that point, the game is no longer an epilogue about finding old memories but a new story for the doll, so she falls outside the scope of the game.

Worry.jpg

Has she tried to eat anybody else in the party yet?
>>
>>46908128
No she's too loyal for that. Like a well trained dog really.
She just chows down after every fight, she even kept a pile of bodies to share when we met her.
>>
>>46908157
>she even kept a pile of bodies to share when we met her.
That's...obscene.
>>

Nope, that sound like about every gothic character that I played with so far. Sometimes even with a coffin-part to store their munchies in.
>>
>>46908188
Sharing is caring, anon.
>>
>>46908188

You doesn't keep spare bodies on hand for when you're hungry or need spare parts? This might not be the game for you.
>>
>>46908188
She was lonely for a really long time and just wanted some friends anon.
>>
Horror aside, I think Nechronica has the potential to be pretty comfy. A game spent exploring the world could be cool. The game was probably designed for more of a bleak tone, but I don't really think it needs to be that dark.

My 2 cents, at least.
>>
>>46907923
Fun/good character builds, really
>>
>>46907738
Fantastic game with a great setting and engaging battle system. If you ever end up giving it a whirl just go full crazy. 110% metal as all fuck. The gnashing jaws, the whirling blades, hearts that pump raw burning acid through the body, all that jazz. Go full Edgehog. It works.

The only drawback I've seen so far is that not everyone is keen to be young/teenage girls. It still works if you want to include boys as well, but if you make the game about adults, it loses a lot of it's charm. Being lost, confused and frightened children who cling together to try and find their way in a nightmare world is what it's aiming for, not big burly fearless space marines to go tearing through monsters.
>>
>>46908276
Gothic's are fun~
>>46908303
Best part is that she doesn't even really understand that eating corpses is weird.
>>
>>46908608
She brought up how not eating is actually way weirder.
>>
>>46908565
It is rather comfy if you're not beeing attacked by god knows what or you getting stalked by psychic cannibal nechromancers looking for a snack. I remember my groups not so heroic sessions of us finding a hotspring, getting drunk and spending 4 sessions talking in character because of a boattrip.

>>
>>46909286
Pretty much, yeah. Quite a few of the fetters that you can pick/roll include some form of infatuation, often taken to unhealthy degrees.
>>
>>46909141
It's simple, you eat because you're hungry.
And the hungry comes from you belly.
If you lose your belly, you're not gonna be hungry.
Also the food would have nowhere to go after you eat it.
>>
>>46909286

Both.

There's 10 items on the default fetter table. (There's two others but those are for NPCs)

Of them, Devoted is you being in love with the target explicitly. Possessive is also mentioned as being basically love but worse. (Devoted's madness has you harming yourself while Possessive's has you harming the target)

Then there's idolatrous and attached which can be interpreted as love. Protective and dependent can also be love, but that one's stretching it.

>>
>>46908567

This may not be an optimal one (good is debatable) but it is workable and would probably be fun.

13 AP should give you a decent shot at going first, and if you don't move or anything, let you get off 3 rockets per round. Hand of Death lets them make an attack as a rapid, either to do significant damage to destroy an enemy's part via Rocket or to use pilebunker to push them away from her. Going Romanesque is probably the least optimal part of this build, but that was to acquire Pilebunker though getting Adrenaline and Energy tube is nice because you can never go wrong with more AP (unless you're dumb and somehow have nothing to use it on). Insane swiftness will mean you're shooting rockets at +2 and swinging pilebunker at +1 when you max a fetter (easy enough to do, just don't be afraid to reroll).

The biggest weakness of this build is the obvious lack of defenses, made worse by having energy tube. Also no bonuses to pilebunker without maxing a fetter, which may or may not pose issues. Also replacing energy tube with Reflexes would reduce the AP by 1 in exchange for not taking more damage when one specific location is hit.

I was in the same boat as these faggots, until I decided to run it.

Made a gamefinder post three~ish months ago. Ten or so sessions later, the game's still going strong! Some of the best players I could ask for, too.

Don't be scared or whatever of running, because anyone can do it. I just ask my players what they want to see in the game and do something close to that next session, every session. It's very rewarding (and easy).

>>46912988
I still have to have a logical foundation and framework or I'll collapse in on myself in a tangled pile of contradictory asspulls. I can salvage a SS13 round because a few hours of yanking stuff out of my ass isn't that hard, but if I keep going deeper in all I find is shit.
>>
>>46912978

It's not specifically for Nechronica, but Japanese pnp in general. They won't chase you out for wanting to play it.

>>46912988
>He doesn't have players who will poke and prod and try to figure everything out.
>>
>>46912978

For special skills, it depends. Some are definitely better than others, magic bullet's probably the prime example for a skill that's "worth it."

If you aren't going to get the skill at character creation or very soon into the game, it's usually better to not bother.
>>
>>46913015
>I can't even smoke or mirror anymore, I'm too used to being able to just dump a pile of vaguely hookish objects and have some wonderful lunatic interpret it to mean that clearly they need to feed the clown into the metroid chamber.
Literally exactly what I do for Nechronica. You underestimate how delighted players are when they get to pretend to be crazy little girls with little real-world knowledge. And if you really, really don't want to run a long campaign, don't. Run one-shots, faggot. Nechronica's great for them.

>>46913039
I have two players like that. They do all the poking and prodding and theorizing for me, so I don't actually need to come up with how everything works - they do it for me!

I'm convinced that the players are just letting me think I'm GMing the game, when in reality they're almost single-handedly making everything up for me. I'm basically just the guy who says 'yes' or 'no'.

>>
>>46913182

This does mean that if you are not a class combination that get at least one mutation point, you cannot be a boy until after character creation.
>>
>>46913244

True.

Boy is a Tier 2 mutation. This means that you must have at least 1 point in mutation because you need a Tier 1 before you can get a tier 2.

If you go, say, double requiem. Putting your free point into mutation will only let you get tier 1 mutations.

This is a valid approach. It's also not the only way to work it. My game has like 50 pages of lore and weird history and shit to puzzle out and stumble across. It's probably a little excessive, honestly.

>>46908567
Let's see. Off the top of my head, there's
-the gunspam murder build at >>46910555

-the Gothic/Baroque unarmed combat build where you make everything you bite lose limbs for it

-any number of builds focused on stacking Support/Hinder effects, which make support monsters based on the fact that in this game, you roll the dice and then decide if you want to use any instant modifier effects. There's a whole little bidding war minigame that develops around forcing important rolls to pass or fail and how much you're willing to throw at them retroactively.

-just taking everything in Psychedelic

I can go into those a little more if any of them in particular grabs your interest, but any of those will give you a pretty solid and reasonably powerful starting point without breaking the game. We don't talk about Hornsnake here.

>>46913113
You totally can, and I don't think any reasonable GM would give you too much of an issue about it. It's important to the game's themes and typical setups that the characters are children instead of mutant super soldiers or something, but it doesn't really matter if they're little boys.
>>
>>46913446
I think you mean pheromones, but yeah
>>
>>46913446
Extra fluffy. it gives your hair and tail(along with any other relevant parts, if any) additional floof that make them feel even nicer, granting the + to conversation.
>>46913197
Link is broken, methinks. I may just not entirely understand discord though.
>>46913525
Tell me the Psychedelic and support/hinder stories please.
>>
>>46913525

>-the gunspam murder build

That's not spam. It doesn't even have lullaby.
>>
>>46913537

Wouldn't pheromones be for giving the person you're talking to the bonus? The boy part gives the bonus to the owner.
>>
>>46913834
If you're pumping out pheromones, people will be more attracted to you and find you more persuasive.
>>
>>46913861

Do you not understand how conversation checks work in this game? When making a conversation check, you're rolling to see if you lose madness, not the other person. It's not to see if they believe you, it's how you stop from going insane.

so in a totally coincidental but convenient turn of events, my friend just now expressed an interest in running Nechronica. I may be freed. Does anyone have GM advice for him considering he's never run anything in his life?
>>
>>46915376
A warning: Your friend is totally reading this thread right now.
>>
>>46915570
Isn't that a good thing?

The only advice I would be able to give for GMing as a player is don't be afraid to use the setting historia in the document as a guideline rather than strict fact. Our GM decided to have things like a few pockets of humanity still around and slowly dying off rather than having nothing but legions, horrors, and savants, and it makes for an interesting dynamic when the dolls try to prove they're people too.
>>
>>46915376
1) Communicate with your players. Ask them what they want, ask them what was good and what was bad. Make sure everything's on the level, and incorporate their advice. Seriously, your players are half the reason the game is being run (the other half of the reason is you).

2) The GM's job is only partially running/knowing the game. The majority of it is judgement calls and keeping things moving. It's fine if the players roleplay, but know when to keep pacing (I always ask before moving on, but I have a decent idea of when the roleplay 'breaks' are and try to interject before they tangent). And don't be afraid to make a call and look up the relevant rules later (although Nechronica is pretty lightweight, so this will only happen during the first few sessions).

3) Mechanics-wise, for the love of god listen to the book's advice on what NOT to give enemies. Don't give them stagger, don't give them Psychadelic skills, etc. On the flip side, it's fine to break some of the rules. If you're making a meaty tank, it's fine to give them five, six Entrails parts.

4) Steal ideas from your players. Don't throw away an idea if a player guesses it right, let them feel good for being right, and don't feel the need to throw in some tweest that doesn't make sense.

5) Sometimes it's nice to just have things work. My players were in a haunted university/science lab and needed a keycard to get to the meat of the adventure. Instead of having a pixel hunt, I just had them find it, no issue.
>>
>>46915376

Specific to Nechronica?
-The stuff GM's aren't supposed to put on the enemies are that way for a reason. Don't ignore those restrictions unless you know what you're doing.

-You don't need to have the whole setting or timeline or whatever plotted out at the start. Just enough that you can keep players curious to find more.

-Beyond Explosive and Dismember, whatever parts of an attack go through when the attack is blocked is up to the GM. Take a bit to work this stuff out before hand and keep it consistent.

>>46915619
And this. Part of the fun is that neither the dolls nor players actually know what they're in. It makes discovering shit a lot more exciting.
>>
>>46915724
Speaking of Psychedelics, the PDF is sadly lacking that entire class so here's another handy dandy resource:
http://tlwiki.org/index.php?title=nechronica

It's also nice since unlike a PDF you can skip straight to the section or skill you want instead of wading through walls of text. Plus it has pictures!
>>
>>46915799

It also has no enemy specific parts at all. Something that wiki has.

Though the wiki doesn't have the setting information on it.

Oh one more thing. The skill One's Many Charms? It has a translation goof. It's supposed to reduce the cost of Arms and Foot parts by 1. Not legs.
>>
>>46915799
Wow, Psychedelics look like a disaster for everyone involved. Especially that Special move...
>>46915570
I hope he is. If so, in order for future reference:
No, I don't actually think she's an idol.
No, she doesn't know what an idol is.
Yes, she just likes the sound of the word.

Overall, the advice seems to be standard GM advice? I suppose it's standard for a reason, but still.
>>
>>46915901
>Psychedelics look like a disaster for everyone involved
That is the idea, yes.
>standard GM advice?
Beyond the basics, I can only say that the game lies squarely in the center of a three-way intersection of creepy, depressing, and cute. Try to hold that delicate balance between the three.
>>
>>46915901
Nechronica really isn't all that different to run. The mechanics takes care most of the mood for you. Madness rolls when 2spoopy shit happens, action checks to climb the cliff, combat for combat...
>>
>>46915929
>three-way intersection of creepy, depressing, and cute.
TO continue on from that it's good to have some happy moments mixed in with the soul crushing despair so that things don't get too bleak and boring.
>>
>>46915951

Yeah, it might be tempting to go full horror and despair, but if you do that, it loses a lot of the heart and they just become desensitized to it.
>>
>>46915951

To add to this. I'm generally a fan of also ending things on a happy (or at least bittersweet) note. That way the suffering feels like it has some payoff, because they had to earn their happy ending.
>>
>>46909908

There you go. Got a 1:5 GM/Player ratio, which is far better than what you'd find in Gamefinder. I'm actually starting to load up on too many games as a result.

Some of the character designs on pixiv are downright beautiful.
>>
>>46925745
Not that guy, but I am playing a support/hinder character. So normally you have to wait for your turn to come up, right? Or in Nechronica's case, your count, which might be multiple people's turn. A support/hinder build doesn't give a fuck about that. Give allies crits, make enemies miss, make allies hit, cause those critical fumbles. Control that battlefield all from whatever goddamn count you please, because every turn is your turn. A dedicated support/hinder build pretty much tries to give up all semblance of their own turn to live in the 5-7 range of rolls, where your parts get the most bang for your buck. It really takes advantage of how reactive Nechronica combat can be, which I find to be good fun.

There are some problems. Like how tied you are to what's being rolled near you, but even something like shifting what hit location gets hit can be an important play. You also want to stay at range 0, so you have the usual problems a melee build does if your GM fucks around with things like hinder moves or particularly likes ranged enemies that're miles away. A Junk with Follow or dropping some mutations on Animal Legs/Extra Arms are both okay ways to negate this problem. As well you, naturally, give up a lot of your own power. You're mostly reacting to what other people do. So in the case of your supports, if you don't have a strong melee sister, you're not getting all you could. Still though, even considering all this it's pretty solid overall and definitely something cool that you can't do in most other systems.

How about a bit of Storytime then?

The game I'm in is a mashup of Nechronica and Stalker.

There were three containers standing within a field on a dull day within the zone. Right from the word go, one was already popped open and something skittered into the bushes to hide and observe. This is the Doll known as "Mockingbird." A sharp, intelligent survivor with one cyclopian eye, a forming head on her shoulder, chicken-like legs and a web shooter in her arm. She's also carrying a bolt-action rifle, something that 13 year olds certainly shouldn't have.

Out next, perhap woken by the whisting winds or the chattering panic of Hindu nearby, comes Katja. This sixteen year old is stoic (Mostly), seemingly normal, were it not for her long white hair, ghastly blue flesh and the many scars that roadmap her body to hide her cybernetics. She clutches a chainsaw for self defence and is certainly quietly puzzled beneath her unchanging exterior.

Finally, the source of the squealing in Hindi is discovered to be one Kesari. She's an indian rocker girl, but now an eerie pale with her legs warped into digitigrade masses of thorns and blades, topped off with two gnarled monsterous arms that loom over her shoulders as they reach up from the base of her spine and finally blessed with a split chin that hides the secondary jaws that lurk within her chest.

Kesari is frightened at first. All of this is quite a lot for an eleven year old to take in. While she struggles to walk and work her new body, Katja proves to be a rock of support for the girl, forever cementing herself as an idol in the eyes of the indian girl. (Kesari would go onto suspect that Katja is actually a Russian princess.)

It's round about this point that MockingBird, AKA MB makes herself known. Her appearance scares the hell out of Kesari, much to MB's annoyance. With a storm of worried clucking from Kesari, brass attitude from MB and already weary commands from Katja, their story begins within the Zone.
>>
>>46947388
MB seems a rather assertive sort. She knows how to use that gun. (A real gun, much to the horror of Kesari, who's terrified that MB carrying it around will get them into trouble from adults.) MB leads them around until they find a small abandoned village.

The girls split up looking for people, adults, police, telephone and McDonalds in pretty much that order, until MB's sharp ears pick up a desperate sobbing from a barn. Despite Katja's stoicness, MB's near ruthlessness and Kesari's naiveness, all three have enough heart to respond to a cry for help.

Inside the barn though are skinless dogs, blind and slavering from insane hunger. It proves to be an educational experience.
1) Katja gets her jaw bitten clean off, yet barely cares for the pain and damage caused. Not to mention how she's surprisingly good with a chainsaw.
2) MB's shots are deadly, blowing out joints, heads and spines. They surely must have been an apprentice hunter or something in life.
3) Kesari's terrified, but her gag reflex activates her secondary jaws that lash out with enough force to wrench a dog apart into wet chunks of gore. She also realizes that said chunks end up into her stomach, which combined with the sight of Katja's jaw makes her spew all over the floor.

While Kesari frets over Katja, horrified that she's going to die and insisting for her to lie in the recovery position, MB is able to find the source of the sobbing.
Enter Vulture.
Vulture lives up to her name, she slinks into places, plucks up whatever goodies she can, then vanishes. She's got long, telescopic clawed legs. Dressed in an endless array of black trash bags and (most alarmingly of all to some of the girls) She's utterly bald.

Vulture thanks them for the save and is pretty impressed by their prowess together as a group. She explains some hard truths of the zone to her saviours, all the while MB is preparing to butcher a dog for dinner.

Vulture guides them to stay in a small abandoned house and over a Dog Dinner explains some hard truths of the zone.
1) They're all dead. (This is a hard pill to swallow, some of the dolls still don't accept it)
2) According to a leaflet that Katja found in her container, their specific mission is to penetrate the very heart of the Zone. Vulture's mission is to drop off artifacts. She says that when these missions are complete, the dolls are taken away to who knows where.
3)Avoid the centre of the zone, there's some sort of brain-frying deathtrap there.

This causes some amount of distress amongst the dolls, after all, MB just wants to survive, Kesari is adamant to find a phone and call her parents and Katja is grimly resolved to do this mission and get out of this nightmare. With MB recently pulling out her own intestines to make Kesari throw out somewhat lowering/lightening the mood, MB cooks up a fantastic dog dinner and treats everyone to it before they all sleep in this long lost, empty house.

After being plucked up and shaken awake by Vulture's mechanical claw-feet, they set out to see a friend of Vulture's, a swamp hermit known as Lada.

Unfortunately, while bumbling through a swamp, playing with frogs and splashing around, it attracts the attention of a twisted, living mass of bone, rot and muck. This shuddering horror drags itself after the group while the cowardly Vulture sprints away on her telescopic legs.

Thankfully, it's promptly torn apart by the thunder of MB's gun, the roar of Katja's chainsaw and the REEE of Kesari's tongue-snake. Within the slurpling mess of it's remains is another container like their own. With some effort, they pop it open to find Curie...

Curie is a strange one. She's a somewhat absent minded, clumsy 13 year old girl who appears to be made of clear jelly. Clad in a raincoat and wellyboots, she's got an eyestalk that reaches up from the top of her head. Her strangest trait is her body seemingly able to mimic mercury. Normally it's fluid and squashy, subject to many poking fingers and curious pats, but when danger strikes, she can harden herself into a solid wall of cute that's about to get obliterated. She often gets the shit kicked out of her, much to the horror of her friends.

Curie has no idea how long she's been stuck in the container, it seems that memory loss is common to the dolls. Katja, Kesari and MB happily welcome her, then poke at Vulture for running like a coward. They then wade through the swamp until they come to a ramshackle swamp house, owned by one Lada.

MB decides it would be best to bring a gift of sorts, so hunts down a mutant pig, commonly known as a flesh to make dinner with.

Lada seems almost druidic in nature and appearance, quiet, serene, blind. She seems to be in her later teens like Katja and graciously allows the girls to stay. When Mb rolls the ball of dead flesh up to the door, it's dinnertime.

With Mb cooking, Kesari and Curie sorting out the dishes and Katja having a more serious, adult conversation with her sister in maturity Lada. Everyone has a lovely dinner and sleeps well. Sure, MB puts her net to good use and makes hammocks because Curie seems to melt in the rain and Kesari's bladed legs are chipping up the floor.

Come another shaken-awake-by-an-irate-Vulture morning, Lada asks them if they could do her the favour of destroying some beings known as Shepards. Lada doesn't seem like she can defend herself well and these beings were drawing closer. In order to thank her for her kindness, the girls agree to take these things on and take them out.

The Shepards made their lair in a large barn. With MB scouting ahead to place a few opening, hard hitting shots, this would start an alarming fight for the girls.

Not only were the hordes of Flesh-pigs trying to devour them, led by a gigantic Boar, but the Shepards were very clearly once human adults, something that horrifies Kesari deeply.

Katja spends most of the fight alongside Kesari, the pair swinging saw and claw into the mutant pigs and their Boar.

MB spends a good deal of the fight trading shots with the Shepards, the zombie-like things guiding the animals with some strange abilities as they return fire.

Curie..spends most of the fight mangled around, over and under the giant boar. Thankfully, she turns out okay due to a tremendous healing factor.

Vulture, once again, hides herself away by cowering inside a burnt out truck.

After that long and brutal battle, Curie draws herself back together and is fussed over. Since many of the girls said they'll protect her, they didn't do a good job when she was shot, gored, tramped and bitten. Thankfully she regenerates.

The human corpses however, are far more disturbing. There's angst as they war over the possibility of killing -people-...or were they just monsters that look like people?

They were just monsters, or so the more savvy girls insisted to the younger ones.

The girls also round onto Vulture, saying she shouldn't be so scared. That monsters arn't so bad if you're just brave enough to fight back. Vulture eventually agrees that she'll help fight from now on in, admitting that she's usually terrified when danger comes forth. She plucks up a gun from a fallen Shepard, then explains the next step of the plan.

Czartown.

It turns out that not too far away is a small town ruled over by a doll known as Czar. She's been there for ages and has managed to turn the place into a sort of haven for dolls. After all, weaponizing children and throwing them into the Zone may not get intended results.
>>
>>46949071
As the dolls draw nearer to Czartown, dread falls over them. There's no policemen here. There's no phones, no parents, no adults. Infact, it's a bit of a shithole. Gunfire rattles through the air as rival doll gangs duke it out. It becomes very quickly clear that Czar rules this town like a tyrant. Those helpless, frightened children who find this place or are brought here are quickly strongarmed into being useful, or they disappear.

As they pass various guards, one such guard poses, flexes and tries to intimdate them. A tracksuited girl who's skin is a mismatch of different patches, her name? Patches. Twirling her rock-filled pipe (Mistaken to be a magic wand by the younger girls) she gives them all the tough girl act before they go to see Czar.

Czar herself is chairbound, nearly buried under mushrooms, roots and vines. Long ago she was once able to move around, now she is literally the very heart of Czartown. Surrounded by and embracing communist propoganda, the elder Czar does not fuck around.

She promptly insists that the newcomers prove themselves by murder. By finding other Dolls and killing them stone the fuck dead.

This sparks off a massive moral debate of tears, fear and angst amongst the dolls. Some want to do it, since Czar promises them the answers and the means to get into the heart of the Zone. The younger ones can't bring themselves to willingly hurt someone who isn't a monster.

The dolls come to a conclusion and tell Czar that they can't accept this mission to kill "Breach" and her friends. Czar is disgruntled, instead ordering them to do what amounts to civic duties for the town.

As they leave the office, the dolls bundle themselves into a quiet building to plot. They want to speak with Breach and hear her side of the story. In doing this, they catch Patches trying to listen in on them. She's quickly caught and her tough-girl act melts quickly under the questioning of the Dolls, sending her running back to her post in tears.

With the dolls refusing Czar's assassination request, they have one night of rest before they're put to work. There's a meeting place run by a doll known as Rosebud, where MB plays her harmonica for food then promptly orders vodka to get stinking drunk. Kesari has some accidental A-cup angst over Katja, conspiring with Curie on wondering how they'll ever grow up to be as pretty and tall as her. Katja focuses on eating the cooked crows legs on offer. Being the eldest and assumed responsibility was suffering.

With Vulture as bait, MB chases her and they're able to secure an empty apartment as a place to sleep in.

While they have a free day, it turns out that Patches is missing. The guards insist that she went on a holiday. Some sneaking around the backstreets shows the truth. For that brief moment of abandoning her post, she had her legs chopped off and was locked in a wardrobe.

This makes the dolls realize that Czar is indeed as cruel as she looks, which terrifies Kesari to no end. When they meet her again to confirm their refusal of the assassination, Kesari is in floods of terrified tears. Czar orders the girl to come forward and assures her in the way only a cold blooded tyrant can. Curie helps support the shivering, sniffling wreck that is Kesari, while quietly showing her support for Czar.

Everyone else is quietly shitting themselves, worried that Kesari might give the game away that they were sneaking around the off limits area. How else would they know of Patches? Thankfully, they're able to pass it off as how distraught she is at the thought of hurting other dolls.

With another difficult morning to wake up to, the dolls are assigned tasks.
Katja is to guard a gate alongside Gallium, a sister made entirely of scissors and blades.
Kesari is to go on guard patrol.
Curie ends up being picked as Czar's assistant
MB asks to go hunting with Vulture, but they decide to slip away and secretly meet with Breach to hear her version of events.

With the group split into four, we'll all explain what happened.

Kesari found herself lumped in with equally bestial mutants, the horrifying Baroques. By now however, Kesari wasn't so afraid of them, slowly finding out just how strong she was. Their guard patrol become more an aimless bumble around town since they were the younger Dolls.

This took them past a playground of sorts, where Czar keeps the youngest dolls and perhaps older dolls who utterly lost their mind. It's a pleasing sight to Kesari, until she sees a bunch of younger Dolls throwing stones and stuff into a skip and hearing yelps from it. Much to the annoyance of the other guards, she moves to the skip and is set upon by the children.

Kesari is more worried about them hurting themselves on her than them hurting her. Despite being armoured with chitin plates and having legs like knotted thorns around scythes, she's able to gently keep the children away from her using her monstrous arms. She pulls herself up into the skip to find a malformed child, Twitchy half buried under the rubble.

This causes one of the children, Hakka, to screech in fury, accuse the guards of breaking their pact and storm off. It turns out that Hakka is none other than Czar's little sister, who fully abuses her position to bully and harm the other children. Everyone is too afraid of Czar to speak against her , let alone harm her.

Kesari makes sure Twitchy is safe, then resolves herself to make Hakka see sense, even if she has to go through Czar to do it.

Gothic for parts regen, junk for tanking hits, and maybe baroque for some of their defense bonuses?

From there it's just about grabbing defense and dismemberment negation upgrades
>>
>>46954321

>Neglecting to mention stacy

How the fuck are you going to eat those hits aimed at other people, and the ultimate word in "No that attack doesn't matter," meat shield?
>>
>>46954232

The best is probably going to be Stacy/Gothic for pure tankiness.

Feast of Flesh gives you basic part regen, and Stacy gives you defend (So you can take hits to those single part locations you regened via feast of flesh) and meat shield which lets you negate an attack entirely.

As for positions? Probably court. Anticipate and Meatshield give you a lot of power for negating things. The other court skills aren't too shabby either, but Anticipate's gonna be your first pick. Nabbing Delight in Corruption from Gothic will give you a second use of either meatshield or anticipate per round.

Beyond that? Get more defends, get more AP for feast of flesh regen as you take hits, consider getting remain dead and corpse style. Remain dead will let you rapid regen a basic when you need it (possibly to take an AT rifle shot to a destroyed location) and Feast of Flesh basically makes Corpse style a more handy Arm Vise.

>>
>>46962853
No Staggering is suggested by the Necromancer guide.

Try and mix things up, have enemies that play off each other well. Don't be afraid to make really tanky foes. Dolls can throw out an absolute shitton of damage.

Be kind with legions, personally, they're kind of a boring fight to just chip away on.
>>

Oh, forgot the most important thing. Make it as metal as fuck.
>>
>>46962853

Don't be afraid to tweak or combine existing parts to make something thematically appropriate.

Like >>46962904 said, dolls can throw out a decent amount of damage so don't be afraid to make tough enemies, and never have enemies fight alone. Even if it's intended to be a boss fight, give them one or two helpers that the players will want to take down so it isn't "focus down the big guy."

I'm Kesari's player. She's the youngest out of the group but pretty damn deadly in a fight, looking like she's perhaps a bit too much genestealer and Reaper vampire in her family tree.

At times Curie has been perhaps a bit too buddy buddy with Czar and her goons. Mockingbird perhaps a bit too headstrong and Katja indifferent. Kesari put her foot/talon down. She's got used to fighting monsters, but could never bring herself to hurt someone who can think, feel, laugh and cry. She's made it a personal mission to solve the mystery of this zone and get everyone turned back to normal and back to their parents.

>>46908732 Here, we posted the getting drunk story a few times by now but here you go.
Alcohol and Mistakes:

After a particularly harrowing series of events, our heroes find themselves reunited and in possession of alcohol. There's some debate over whether alcohol would even affect them before one of the lunatics the party has picked up in their travels chimes in. "Try knocking holes in your heads and pouring the booze in," she says. Right after this, she recounts a story of how she and the other nigh invulnerable abomination wound up destroying a liquor store in the process of trying to knock holes in each others' heads.

If you guessed that the PCs decided to do it, you'd be right. It even seems to work, crazy as the act is is. Almost everyone there partakes (not all PCs were present for this) and there is much bad singing and uncoordinated dancing and similar merriment. The resident pyromaniac player, Alleah, even gets the idea to boil alcohol and inhale the fumes through a rigged up gas mask.

After a while, most people have collapsed or gone off to do their own thing. This is when things get awkward. Valentine, resident sniper, medic, and more often than not the voice of reason, gets completely plastered. She hits the point where she no longer has the coordination to get any more inhibited than she already is, then gets the idea of kissing Priscilla. Priscilla's story is long and depressing, but Valentine has pulled her back from the brink through some ethically questionable methods. But what matters right now is that Valentine is drunk and Priscilla is not. Valentine fails to really do anything she can't take back, owing to Priscilla being about a meter taller than her and her inability to struggle out of her own shirt.

Then you have Shalott, another PC who is basically a cross between a puppy and a xenomorph. Imitating Valentine, she actually manages to kiss her target Fallen Leaves, another sniper character who happens to be drunk. A "Was it good for you?" from Shalott just seals the embarrassment.

Naturally, when they recover some uncertain time later, the girls are mortified. They swear off of alcohol and trepanning much the same as any other first time drinkers.
