I would love you talented voicefriends to read this with the appropriate context. That is you start out extremely confident and energetic and gradually get less confident and more quiet unsure and surrendering.
>>
I'm working on a cartoon for Rogue Trader and I'm trying to get my friends to do the voices. It seems like it could work out, because one guy is amazing at voices, and another guy legitimately wants to get into voice acting.
I'm just worried that either they're not gonna take it seriously, or I'm gonna get too anal about what I want them to sound like.

The guy that wants to be a voice actor went to a place that evaluates your skills, and offers advice. They told him that most voice actors have their own sound setup, usually in their closets (really). You soundproof as small a space as you can, and record in there.
They also told him that what most people don't realize is that voice acting for games and cartoons is a really tiny field, that almost all voice acting is just being the narrator for commercials, or orientation videos, stuff like that.

I know that; I've recorded myself before, just not in a long while. I'm surprised how different my voice sounds outside my head from how I remember it.

If anyone can do a "hardboiled detective serial" type voice and is taking requests could they have a go at the following:

"Previously, on Thrilling Tales... The gentlemen thief Baron Lazuli announced he intended to steal a priceless Egyptian artefact. Confounded, Professor Frampton turned to the only people who could help... the International Police Organisation. But the plot thickens - who is Clotilde, and why is she so interested in the sapphire necklace? And why is the Human League involved?

Mysteries will become clear... tonight."
>>
>>46899179
First off- how do you pronounce Clotilde?
>>
It's so frustrating to try to do impressions. It sounds really good in my head, and then as soon as I hear it recorded, it's so obviously me doing a silly voice.
How are you supposed to do good voices if you can't even tell how you sound in real life?

If someone could do the opening narration to a 40k campaign match me and my friend(s) will have in a few weeks, then that would be awesome

"As the heretical rebels on the Agri world Akrabam managed to surprise the space wolves, they were not ready for the brutality that the wolfs unleashed. After the heretics lost the first confrontation they foolishly lead the space wolves to one of their command bunkers.

This made the space wolves aware of the location of the rebel's anti air batteries, located inside a former PDF (planetairy defence force) compound. And thus both side prepare themselves for another battle.

Will the space wolves go one step further to libirate Akrabam from the heretics grasps, or will it fuel the chaos warmachine...."

Writing on this is pretty bad, lemme fix it.

Despite the heretical rebels on the agriworld of Akrabam managed to surprise the space wolves, they were not ready for the brutality of their retaliation. After the heretics lost the first assault they foolishly led the space wolves to one of their command bunkers.
The marines are now aware of the rebels' anti-air batteries location, in a former planetary defense force compound. Both sides prepare for the second assault.
Will the space wolves go one step further to liberate Akrabam from the heretics' grasp, or will their actions fuel the chaos warmachine?

>>
>>46898942 here
>>46899712
I'm obviously not the best actor for this part, but English is my first language and writing is my strong point, so I'll try to revise this a bit for you.

>Although the heretical rebels on the agriworld of Akrabam did manage to catch the Space Wolves by surprise, nothing could have prepared them for the Wolves' brutal retaliation. In their feeble cowardice they fled from this confrontation to one of their gang's stash of weapons, with the Wolves in hot pursuit, foolishly revealing to Marines the location of the rebels' anti-air batteries. As echoes of tension ring silently in the air with a great sforzando piano crescendo, both sides now prepare for a second battle.

>Will the Space Wolves continue on their sacred mission to liberate Akrabam from the heretic's grasp? Find out next time on Dragon Ball Z!

I left out the bit about the Chaos Warmachine, since I couldn't figure out a way to fit it into the imperial chauvinistic fervor. Besides, that's the sort of thing that you might want to hide from the players, hinting at it occasionally but never revealing it until the party is too deep into it to turn back. I'm also assuming the players are on the side of the Marines; if that's not the case, then what I wrote was sort of pointless.

Though the heretical rebels on the agriworld of Akrabam managed to surprise the space wolves, they were not ready for the brutality of their retaliation. The heretic’s first assault was routed, the piecemeal retreat foolishly leading the space wolves to one of their command bunkers.

The marines are now aware of the rebels' anti-air batteries location, a former planetary defense force compound. The lines are drawn, the battle field set, Heretic and Wolf prepare for the blood letting.

Will the space Wolve’s Stand victorious, one step further on the road to Liberation for Akrabam? Or will they fall, their actions fueling the chaos warmachine?

Requesting this:

"Excuse me, Magos, I was overlooking the schematics you sent me and I'm confused. This is some sort of artillery cannon with an articulated barrel, correct?"

"Correct."

"Won't this explode violently when fired?

"Yes."

"If you don't mind me asking, why?"

"Because the coxswain of the Ark Defilement got his right leg blown off and wanted a cannon for its replacement."

"But to mount this thing would require removing his other leg, pelvis, and most of his lower abdomen and the recoil from firing the cannon would wrench it free from any anchoring."

"Yes."

"Did you tell him that would happen?"

"No."

"Sir, with all due respect..."

"I had dreams once. Simple, easy dreams of respect, authority, and beautiful women retaining at least 43% of their flesh. And now, now I get to make artillery cannons into legs for drunken oafs. Every day I wake up, point a plasma torch at my brain case, and flip a coin. It will be my lucky day one of these days, but until then, I need a 155mm cannon, a cutting torch, and a door hinge."

Top kek and good work right there

Here's oen of my own for you lot:

"Plasma Unrestrained... It's a terrifying thing. You ever heard of those Steam engines of The past? They are kinda like Plasma reactors...They Boiled water and kept it bottled up tight, Using Metal pipes and rubber gaskets,
Instead of Exciting gases into a high energy state and bottling it all up with magnetics, Yeah?

Well... They called the steam in there 'Living steam' Treated those Engines and boilers like prisons and yokes, Harnessing a living demon to do their bidding. Because if a pipe burst, Or a gasket blew? All came undone. THeir iron trains, their wooden boats, their brick factories. Nothing could withstand the rage of Steam unleashed. Men were flash-broiled, Walls blasted over and the whole device could come apart! That's all cause of pressurized Boiled water... Now, what do you think will happen if our little Magnetic's shut off? What will happen with all Live Plasma?"
