Which domains are well suited to a sun deity?
Fighting evil (if evil is darkness), truth (meaning he makes everything appear), harvest/agriculture or something like this in more colder regions.

Seems like you could justify a lot given the sun, but commonly I'd say.
Light, Fire, Good, Plant/Harvest.
Abstract concepts could be:
-Law (Sun rises and falls every day a set path for all).
-Time (relative to how we measure time, our lives, etc)
-Radiation if you setting matches
There's a few more, but I'm at work. Hope this helps.

Light, fire, sun, death, life, hearth, home, kindness, war, travel, medicine, knowledge, justice...
Basically anything that isn't related to darkness can work. Sun gods can range everything from holy healing light god , justice and knowledge god, and angry fire war god.

In temperate and cold lands Sun God could be associated with fertility, life, and other Good things. In tropical or warm desert locations it could also be those or it could be associated with heatstroke and typhoid fever.
GOOD:
Good crops/farming and such, banishing evil, light, sight,
BAD:
Famine, drought, poor crop yields, burning
NEUTRAL:
Growing things in general
Moon Hunters anyone?

Hatred

In truth, it matters quite a bit about the details. Some sun deities (like Ra) are associated with Law and ruling. Some are associated with timekeeping. Some, with farming and harvest.

Honesty, Judgment, Fire, Light, Passion
Avoid "Good" ones. The sun isn't Good.
The sun burns people, displays your flaws, evaporates water, blinds you, and starts fires which destroys entire towns.
But you can MAKE it good.
