My online group is more Black people than not.
Two Black guys, me the Black GM, a gay guy who pretends to be Black, and two poor little White boys (and the occasional White demigirl, yes that's a joke).
It works fine for that group. Though I've had less than awesome tabletop experiences (like a guy in a netrunner tournament who insisted that he had to 'watch me' whenever I was doing what is effectively a 'scry 2 then draw' effect. He could have just generally been an asshole, but who knows.
But most fa/tg/uys don't seem to care. The worst you'll hear is how you 'aren't all that Black'. Which is just general White people code for 'I'm generally piss-scared of Black people, or think they are all retarded, but not you. You should take that as a compliment.'

I came here to post this and to tell the story of the only Black Dude I ever gamed with, Needo. Needo was the whitest black dude I have ever met, he was into all the nerd hobbies and absolutely hated rap and hip-hop, and spoke with no trace of Ebonics. He was also the biggest philhellene I had ever met. All his characters were myrmidons or expies of various Greek heroes.
Then his dad came back into town. His dad went apeshit over how nerdy his son was. He beat the fuck out of Needo, took all his gaming shit, and sent him to some sort of "Militant Afrocentrist" summer camp. It broke Needo, he eventually fell in with some shitty people, and last I heard he ended up in jail for stealing a car. I wish I could have been a better friend and helped him out.

I have one Black player who always leaves his character's race vague, and another who is always 100% Black guy. Personally, I'll confirm the character is physically Black, but then don't talk about it for the rest of the game unless it comes up (like when I was playing call of cthulhu and it made some social maneuvering difficult)

I have only played one black charecter (white myself) and it was a plains druid in pathfinder. It made sense in the campaign. I was tempted to make my Ulfen (fantasy pathfinder viking) black just because the Ulfen give no fucks, but he wound up as a half orc instead.

I've actually left groups over racism, and even now the only game I have left often leaves me feeling salty when a player feels the need to crack racist jokes.
