You led your forces down into the tunnels beneath the mountains, cutting your way through the cultists lurking within and tearing a path up to the dragon's lair high above by way of the coven's earth magic. Cleaving your way through the forces the dragon arrayed against you, you have finally come face to face with the long-time thorn in your side, the Earth Dragon Slaagyr. No doubt the cult's high priest Joachim is already rallying his forces to chase after you, but for the moment at least, the dragon is all alone, and as vulnerable as a twenty meter long mass of muscle, teeth and thick bony plates is ever going to get.
“Spread out. Iron Warriors, guard the sorcerers, Honorguard with me,” you bark, your warriors scattering to surround the young wyrm.
Slaagyr snarls, swinging around in a sharp arc to swipe his tail across the top of the pile of treasure he dragged himself free of, a great shower of precious metals and baubles raining down on you, not hard enough to do anything more than bruise and annoy, but enough to slow your warriors down as they move to carry out your orders. You lower your arm, your forces recovering, spotting the dragon taking a deep breath from atop the pile of gold. You know enough about dragons to know his next move.

“Go to cover,” you shout, swerving mid-charge to dive behind a mound of gaudy metal ornaments as Slaagyr unleashes his breath upon your forces. Many have heeded your orders, diving to relative safety behind the piles of treasure scattered across the room, but some prove too slow, flayed down to the bone before they even have time to scream by the blast of fine grit spewed out by the dragon it impossible pressure.
“Bra'kur, shut him up,” you bellow, your voice barely audible over the cacophonous roar of sand and grit tearing through metal and stone.
Fortunately, it seems the sorcerer was listening, as a moment later you catch sight of a great flash of lighting arcing overhead, followed moments later by a pained howl, the dragon's breath dying down.
“A fine shot, as expected of the Great Bra'kur,” the sorcerer laughs, as you emerge from behind your cover, Slaagyr clutching his jaws in his claw, smoke curling up from his mouth.
“You vermin, filthy mammal, you dare,” the dragon howls, bounding across the chamber in one great leap with a flap of his claws, jumping straight for where the sorcerer stands, Bra'kur just barely diving out of the way of a rake of his claws, as the dragon stomps down on one of the Iron Warriors, crushing him beneath his talons.
You doubt he'll be so eager to breathe any more after that, but you'd better do something quick, before he murders your sorcerer for his efforts.

If Slaagyr's upset enough about Bra'kur cooking his tongue to let his guard down, all the better for you. With a roar, you charge forward, your orcs falling in with you to swarm the dragon as he chases after Bra'kur, the sorcerer proving remarkably hard for the dragon to pin down as he ducks and weaves through the loot.
“Stand still, insect,” Slaagyr howls, your lieutenant's evasiveness only serving to provoke the dragon further.
Ducking under the dragon's sweeping tail, you bring your axe around in an arc, slamming it into the back of Slaagyr's heel. Even for your enchanted steel, the earth dragon's hide proves a formidable barrier, but with all your muscle behind it, you still manage to slice deep enough to make Slaagyr scream out in pain as you hack into him.
More of your warriors swarm around, javelins bouncing off the dragon's bony plates as they lay into him with spears and axes. Unfortunately, most are simply scraping ineffectually off of his hardy scales, but a few at least find the gaps in his defenses to penetrate, little more than pinpricks to him perhaps, but it'll add up.
You bring your axe around once again, slicing it along the smaller scales of his underbelly, leaving a vicious tear along his gut. Slaagyr roars, rearing up overhead, spinning around with impressive speed to swing a backhanded swipe of his talons down at you. You duck out of the way of the first, landing another vicious blow on his hind leg for his trouble, the dragon staggering under the force of the strike. You step in to follow it up while Slaagyr is reeling, only for the dragon to pivot, bringing his tail around, the rough scales on it colliding with your side as he swats you away, sending you crashing back through the mounds of treasure around you.

You grunt, pulling yourself to your feet, thankful that through some good fortune you avoided landing on one of the many blades poking out from amidst the hoard. The enchanted breastplate seems to have weathered the worst of the strike, though you would imagine from the sting in your side that you might still have a cracked rib or two, and it seems that the rough texture of the scales served to tear a great strip of skin from your arm, despite barely glancing it. Still, it's nothing you can't walk off, which is more than you can say for Slaagyr, who following your assault on his legs seems to be moving with a noticeable limp.
A limping dragon is still a threat however, as he gives up on chasing Bra'kur, smashing aside a few of your orcs unfortunate enough to be in reach of his claws.
“Keep it up,” you shout. Your casualties are mounting, but still far less than you'd expected from facing a dragon, and it's all too obvious that Slaagyr is starting to tire.
“Cursed orcs, I've worked too hard to amass my power here to lose it to the likes of you.”
“Way I heard it, you ran here with your tail between your legs,” you sneer, Slaagyr's head whipping around to face you. The dragon really is too easy to taunt.
Of course, now you do have an enraged dragon bearing down on you.

With a feral roar, you let yourself go, charging forth to meet him. Whatever Slaagyr might have imagined you'd do as he lunged for you, maw open wide to crush you between his jaws, you don't think leaping straight for him was high on the list. A moment of indecision slows his attack as he witnesses your howling visage sailing through the air, a moment you don't share, revelling in glorious bloodlust, and that moment is all it takes.
You land on his snout, lodging yourself in place by burying your axe in his scales, Slaagyr howling as the blade bites into bone. He rears up, trying to shake you loose, but your grip is too strong, as your steel-capped boot slams into his jaw, cracking a tooth. Slaagyr stumbles back, reaching up to pry you loose, but removing the frenzied orc from his face proves more of a challenge than he can handle in his disorientated state, claws raking off your armor, what wounds he inflicts little more than flesh wounds and of no consequence to your rabid mind.
“No, not like this,” Slaagyr cries, as you heave yourself bodily up, boot once again colliding with his jaw as you scramble for purchase, one horrified reptilian eye staring out at you for a moment, before you plunge your fist into the massive orc, humors leaking from the ruined organ as you push deeper, Slaagyr's cries turning delirious as you drive your arm into the dragon's skull.
With a roar of triumph, you take hold of a great fleshy mass, tearing your arm free, you and Slaagyr tumbling to the ground in a great crash, showering gold and jewels in all directions. You lie there for a moment, feeling the fire fade, the bloodthirst sated, a laugh welling up in your throat as you hold high your gory trophy, your orcs howling in triumph.
