If one wants to run a fantasy campaign with a system that's not D&D, not GURPS and is rather realistic but rules light what would be the best choice?
So far old D6 WEG system seems to be the best choice.

You can always houserule out the furry races and replace them. The only race that might cause some difficulty is humans, and only because a jack-of-all-trades race won't work. So you'll have to do something else with humans.
The system doesn't use HP. Instead you look at the total damage an attack did, and the target suffers from all status effects for an attack of that or lesser damage.
