Wood elf catchers start with sprint so they only need 2 pushes as well. But yes, MA 8 is much harder to pull off.
So you figure block, side step, sure feet as the first 3 skills on a human catcher.
They all help him do his job better, block will keep him standing, side step for protection, scoring, and 1 turning. Sure feet for making him extremely likely to be able to move 10 spaces which will help both when you need a quick td, for assists, and for 1 turning.
Now, unless he rolls a +st, doubles are worthless. +ST means take block, SS, frenzy OR tackle (depending on if you have a frenzy piece already, no point in having 2 on a team unless they come for free[and even then is it worth having 2 frenzy?]). And MB on doubles so he can be the 5th blitzer/surfer
But back to the one who doesn't roll a 12. NoS is totally worthless, as diving catch is a single and gives a +1. Guard I would say is shit because if you are putting a an av 7 piece between 2 guys you are just fucking yourself over.
So other possible skills are diving tackle, imo eh because I wouldn't really play a catcher on defense. Jump up, also eh because MA8.
So good skills to consider are, diving catch, sprint, and leap. >muh leap I'd rather take a 4+, 3+ than a 5+,5+,3+ or be walled off from scoring by dudes in the way.

Dump off and NoS are both shit. He starts with pass so from the pass tree his only choices are Leader (meh, RRs are 50K so you only save 30K) Hail Mary, safe throw, and accurate. Safe throw isn't shit if you can't throw in the first place and hail mary is for khemri. The only G singles he could take are fend, Kick off return, strip ball, and tackle.
I'd rather stick strip ball and tackle on a blitzer or lino. So the choice for the second single is between kick off return, Fend, accurate, and leader.
Last shit post, Ogres and how many killer blitzers do you need? So first part, should you go with the 3 guard blitzers and one mb-po or go with 2 guard and 2 mb trying to get all 4 guard by 51 spp? Is it better to have as much guard as early as you can get, or to be able to kill people?
First singles for an ogre is guard, no doubt. But what about 16 and maybe 31 spp? Stand firm (cucks the shit out of dorfs and make him do his job of being punched in the face better). Jump Up is still valuable on MA8 - even more so with a high movement piece. It means your opponent must commit to covering him in tackle zones, breaking armour, or fouling him in order to remove his threat radius. 3 extra squares is as much as what Sprint would give you without the GFIs.
Otherwise I would agree with Leap first, unless the Catcher has rolled a +MA increase - in which case take Sprint for the one-turn threat.

The problem with Accurate is that human pass plays usually require you to cage up around a passing target, rather than trying to swarm the defenders elfball style. Consequently human passes don't tend to be as long.
It only really helps when you have possession too. Accurate is great on Elven throwers that can get it because it allows for long passes and Elves often can use that to get the ball safe during steal attempts. You'll get more mileage out of Accurate if your thrower is often the one making steal attempts but this can be tough sometimes.
It can definitely save your bacon in a tight spot but some coaches are in the definite school of "take skills and play to prevent bad situations from happening in the first place".
As you note they're aren't a lot of other opportunities for developed throwers; Fend is probably the other major option - since your Thrower is often carrying the ball or close to it Fend can prevent a followup from a regular Block that will put additional TZs on a loose ball.

Blitzer balance depends a lot on what they roll, and what your league looks like. The lower the average AV of your league, the more payoff you'll get from multiple killers. Killers tend to skill faster so long as they can cause casualties, while Guards will help a lot towards winning a game, which makes them more crucial in short leagues.
Personally I think a 2/2 split is just fine. 2 Guards help exponentially more than a single Guard. Generally I wouldn't plan out Blitzers too far in advance - if one rolls a +stat increase or a double it will derail your plans anyway.

You can't even start with that lineup, it's 1040k.
The Witch Elf start would be 3 Blitzers/1 Witch/7 linos/2 RRs. Starting with a Witch is a gamble. They're amazing and get Dodge, but you can still slip on a GFI or your opponent can roll a POW or a Both Down with a blitzer player (not hard if he throws 2 block dice) and once a Witch is on the ground she is getting fouled - and Dodge is not helping you there.
Any experienced player is going to foul a Witch at every opportunity - Jump Up makes them very dangerous if you don't, and AV7 means even modest assists get big payoffs.
The other argument against starting with a Witch is that they're already very good players out of the gate and tend to have short-lived careers, like Wardancers. Block/Wrestle is all they ever really need and even without a level they're still a tremendous threat thanks to the Frenzy/Dodge/JU combo. It's much harder to get a replacement Lineman or Blitzer to do as well - they make better use of development.
If you do want to start with the Witch, it's more important to use them as a Frenzy threat to get your opponent to steer clear of the sidelines. If you give them the ball early then the opponent no longer needs to fear her.
Finally, a scheduled match by two people who don't pretend they have anything better to do.

Second, we are in the middle of the season so no one would be able to join until at least June otherwise all they could do is read the threads and watch the matches and join in on the lad banter.
Thirdly, there was already going to be a 4chan vs reddit game, the league is advertised on the fumbbl group page, and some people like penis lover 13 use pizza's /tg/ banners on their teams they play in ranked and box.
Finally, to sign up you need to lurk the thread and know when mauled is having sign ups and who to message. Someone would literally need to lurk the thread pretty much every day until June.
