The tree is in bloom, its been fifty years since this last happened.
And it signifies the start of the grand tournament. Great warriors who are chosen by the mystical tree gather from across the world to do battle in a battle royale for the privilege of being chosen to enter the grove and meet God.

That's actually really good, thanks

For as long as the Empire has existed, the one constant of it has been the Consensus of Wisdom. They are a group of three individuals who are both outside the political process of the Senate but near equal in power to the Elected Emperor.

Whenever there is a matter of grave importance that is gridlocked, it may be turned over to the Consensus for final ruling and their judgement is law afterwards.

The secret behind the Consensus is that they are three individuals chosen to become Liches, they renounce all earthly ties to friends and family and live secluded away in the Capital Palace under the protection of the Emperial Aegis, the same company of elite warriors who protect the Emperor Elect.

Whenever one tires of their position they are tasked with finding a suitable replacement which can take years to do and groom them to the position. Afterwards through a special ritual the new member of the Consensus becomes a Lich and the old one is allowed to die.

After the Great Division which saw many of the member states of the Empire achieve independance and Druid is looking to uncover and break the rule of the Consensus after one of their rulings caused his academy to be burned to the ground and it's head master sentenced to Death on suspicion of Treachery

Well, here's an interesting one I made up a while ago.

A land a mystic land of giant creatures named Gigantes was ruled by a elves and gnomes. Until one day an evil Dragon invaded trying to tap the magic for immortality.

To gain this magic, he would have to defeat the elves who guarded this magic. To do so, he made an alliance with the dark elves who wanted to see the elves suffer.

With a hundred year of war, the elves lost and the Dragon received a good chunk of the magic and became immortal. He know rules Gigantes with an iron fist with the gnomes being a minority and Dower the majority. And the elves extinct. Now the only way to defeat this Dragon is to destroy 15 giants who have where composed of this magic of the land. Then the Dragon will be weak.

This campaign is also steampunk based, so old renaissance pistols and what not. Also there can be no characters that are of Elvish except for a dower, and no other dragons.

Wizards banish all Orcs, Goblins, Gnolls, Kobolds, Giants, etc to another dimension using a magic ritual that took centuries to cast.

The party is a group of upstart treasure hunters looting what's left and trying to avoid other looters, stuff that didn't exist when the spell started being cast and wasn't banished, angry demons, and hyper-evolved new monsters.
>>
Well, here's faggot's story
You see, my very first campaign had a mission where his character (his name is Jonas) has to get it good with it. So he fucks it. Sadly after that the campaign never continues

Just think of something cool and put it in your campaign, with a bit of fluff to justify why it's there and what significance it has in your world.

>The circle of witnesses is a series of strange stone statues carved by unknown hands, all facing a single, monolithic stone. Local legend suggests that the monolith at the circle's centre makes the grave of a dead god, and the witnesses have been patiently waiting for the day this god's return, ready to consume the land in a cataclysmic war.

Dungeon Ooze

There is a gigantic, mountain-sized ooze headed towards [important city] which simply consumes everything in its way. It has a rocky outer shell and, oddly enough, a stone dungeon interior. The party needs to invade the Dungeon Ooze, reach its core and slay it... or figure out some other method of killing it before the kingdom is destroyed.

>Cartographer's Guild is based in complex and richly-appointed lighthouse tower at the docks. Because trade is dependent upon maps, the cartographers are very wealthy and often hold the latest gossip and rumors -- and they like to hire stout parties to escort them when its time to update maps or fill in areas left unexplored previously.

>The Crimson Apple is a brothel famous for catering to patrons of all races with its extensive lineup of ornately masked pleasure girls. It's the perfect place to go for a small-town type who wants to escape into a new life beneath notice, and for whom the masks provide a modicum of anonymity, but it is also a place where powerful men visit often, and their desires -- and crimes -- are kept a secret at all costs.

>An ancient temple to a forgotten harvest god lurks beneath the nondescript, easily-overlooked stone blocks that remain above ground. Recently, digging sounds have been heard nearby, and the mad witch of the woods claims that the ruins have been profaned. When locals begin to go missing on the eve of a great feast, and guards sent to find them do not return, the local lord hires a party of stalwart adventurers to go examine the ruins and track down the lost citizens.

>A missionary cleric preaching as the lone, begrudgingly-accepted holy man of an infamously dangerous hidden city of thieves turns up violently murdered in the common area -- and the prince of thieves sends word through secretive proxies that he needs an outsider to find out who did it before the church sends an army of warriors and clerics to crush the haven.

>Oakenmoor is the sole dwarven seaport, famous for its massive stonework sculptures carved into the face of the mountains that flank the shipyard. It is one of the most well-defended places in the world, being the only method of sea trade for the dwarven empire, and produces some of the most heavily armed ships to ever sail the sea.

Here's a table of painfully generic dungeon themes. Roll 2d20 and combine the two results. Now you have a spicy dungeon.

1. Crystaline cave
2. Clouds
3. Ruins (Mayan)
4. Clockwork
5. Fire
6. Ice
7. Sewer
8. Castle
9. Monster's stomach
10. Overgrowth
11. Underwater and Coral
12. Ruins (Neolithic)
13. Pyramids and Sand
14. Illusions
15. Darkness
16. Catacombs
17. Everything is covered in eyeballs
18. Abandoned mine
19. Hedges
20. Acid trip

What's a fire stomach? Cloud sewer? Figure it out, sheesh.

>What's a cloud sewer?
It's called rainwater.

>Your players' faces when they discover that rainwater is just some cloud-city's toilet runoff.

My idea has always been to play in a campaign that is, or at very least begins, about a city getting sacked and raided to the ground.

Everyone's dying, and the party is just moving around the ruins and following the blood picking up whatever valuables they can. Maybe they side with the locals or invaders, maybe they just get some treasure and leave. Up to them.

Desert setting and ancient burial tombs with each city surrounding an oasis and the capital being at the delta of the river.

Basically Egypt but older and more magical. Do the whole Arabian Nights thing with it too where the wind uncovers openings into long-lost tombs before the place was a desert, etc etc.
