Etentia, a rather small Myceanea nomad tribe changed and adapted to this wasteland of a desert, currently the tribe has been on talks, several of the elders have decided that these ways of endlessly moving should stop. They have chosen Yugnuf to take the place as leader. To bring about a new era of the Myceanea people, having lived in the desert for some time the people have grown to be resistant to the sun, using deep burial breeding instead of surface shroom turf. In order to produce new spawn a large water source is required. The tribe has the ability to scout for underground reservoirs.

Currently the tribe is located in the eastern deserts of the Travalon Expanse a massive stretch of dried land and deserts. South is more desert, north is more desert, west is even more desert and east is EVEN MORE desert and the addition of a sea. Any further details have not been recorded.

East Exploration! Success, [5].

Word is spread to the tribe, everyone packs up what little they have since no squads or numbers were assigned to the scouting task. What they have being nothing but sticks and waterskins before heading off to the east. Leaving the more central eastern portion towards the sea. Small groups of five Myceanea split off in differing directions all re-routing further ahead. Some have scouted a wide swoth of brambles and bushes, growing in some rocky outcroppings of a desert hill, it seems the sands avoid settling in that location. Small rodents and bugs were also spotted their, mostly lizards and shelled creatures. Perhaps water lays underneath that point? One other interesting discovery. the third exploration group spotted glowing blue lights on the very edge of the deserts horizon to the north. The sea is very close now, traveling further east will bring the tribe to unusable salt water.

It is possible to spore them. An underground water source is needed for turfing and breeding as desert Myceanea here.

There are halophilic fungi, but I meant more halotolerant. We still filter out salt as it's harmful and we do not require it for nutrition.

Major Failure [17]

The tribe moves out towards the rocky outcropping, ripping shreds of spongy shroom flesh from their arms in order to scatter the naturally produced spores upwind towards the animals and insects spread around the cropping. Soon, the faint sounds fall into silence. This continued for a short while a few of the tribe head in to investigate. This is where everything goes to hell, screeching and growling, snapping and thrashing of differing animals raise out as every creature effected by the spore seems to sink into a mad bloodlust, from insects to mammals to burrowing creatures all rise from the ground and attack one another. Blood is splatted around the rocks and even some of the tribe fall victim to the fur and scale filled destruction. The rest of the tribe stand on the sidelines out of harms way, like the nazi's on the walls of a concentration camp they watch, silently observing each and every creature be drained of life... and blood.

Decision time!

[Use the dead creatures as mulch and a food supply]
[Don't use the dead creatures and offer this animal battlefield as an offering to an old war god]

I like the idea of producing salt for trade, but it seems safer and more appropriate to hide our breeding grounds.

Perhaps in an expansive underground cavern with fresh water. Mycelium and fungi covering the floor, walls, and ceiling and producing a constant mist of Cordyceps-like spores to infect invaders.

Success [9]

Once the sight of the battle had calmed the elders and Yugnuf crowd around one another in discussion, some of the elders are putting the point across that now the tribe is planning to actually settle down, getting some insurance from the gods might be a good idea. Yugnuf simply goes along with the idea, nodding his capped head in agreement with the words of the wise. The tribe set about their praying, scattering sand into the blood while chanting and releasing even more spores during the ceremony. Soon enough it has been completed and a strong wind flows through your people. Aside from that all seems calm and the tribe move off from the ruined would have been mulch.

Turn Completed.

Success [6]

Having done everything and somewhat settled down in the area for the time being, the tribe move into the sanded down blood and carcasses. Moving around them and avoiding the larger sacrifices as they inspect and explore the stretch of shrubs and brambles. Several dig their arms down into the ground, focusing on draining and measuring any moisture within it. It's at an acceptable level for the underground turf and creating new members of the tribe. Though it wouldn't last too long. Short term it is acceptable to prepare the underground for breeding, or rather shrooming.

Your scouts do however notice one strange factor, the air within this area is strange. Almost as if it thickens within the diameter of the rocky outcrop. Furthermore sand when blown across it seems to skip landing upon it, or rather most of the sand does. The elders and Yugnuf find it interesting.

Major Failure [17]

The Elders and Yugnuf order the rest to begin experimentation of the area. Firstly carrying over sand and placing it ontop of the rocks produce no result, it seems the sand only avoids it when caught in the wind. Digging produces several holes and nothing more than that, aside from slight puddles in the deepest of the holes. Scouting around for any cracks produces some results as a single crag in the area holds glimmering blue veins, sadly this was discovered by the poor individual who placed a shroomy hand upon the stone to balance himself, leading to his arm being a good few metres away from his body, and his body a couple of feet away from his shroomy head.

??? [9]

After seeing one of their own be torn to smithereens without so much as an apparent reason the tribe move back away from the glowing blue vein. Allowing the elders to examine, study and simply watch the luminescence of the rock even as night and day pass. It took quite some time for the elders to reach a verdict but likely a correct one. "We believe that this... ore. Is one that holds power within it, this power is also within the air. Like the stories of old we believe this rock to be one that powerful demigods forged their weapons from. That which destroys the ones unworthy to use it, or empowers those who are. Magical in its existence and a thing which holds 'mana'." Is what the explanation given to the rest of the tribe was, along with a warning NOT to touch it.
