A small God that was all but forgotten before I found him. He knows that if I stop worshiping him he'll fade away, so I can blackmail him into supporting anything I do.

I had this idea for a minor deity of destruction that is just a barelly sentient magical sword. Its similar to The One Ring from LOTR in that it compells whoever finds it to use it and that it grants nigh-certain victory in any conflict that involves combat.
Through the eaons, either due to ambition, chance, or destiny, the sword is found and used and almost inevitably ends up causing war and mass destruction as it's owner uses it for whatever they want.
It just exists to be used and for its power to cause the destruction it embodies.
