My group did a Dark Heresy game there.

>"so there were how many Xenos species here?"
>"all of them basically... Oh and chaos"
>"and that doesn't strike you as odd"
>"I try not to think about it"

The following story had us travel from Kaurava 1 to 4, ultimately finding the Dark Eldar web way, briefly getting lost in comorragh and then making a swift, Stubbs assisted exit.

Pretty good campaign, all in all.

>>
>>46641058
>Originally, Inquisitor Darius was summoned to the Kaurava system to investigate the remnants of Xenos strongholds on Kaurava 2 and 3.
>After a cursory investigation of Kaurava 1, his retinue discovered the beginnings of a Genestealer cult which was promptly dealt with.
>much to the inquisitors confusion, several Guardsmen reported a second Eldar stronghold, further out on Kaurava 4
>Darius decided to investigate without informing the Ordo Hereticus, who had lain claim to Kaurava 4
>after a mix up with a Celestian, Darius and his retinue fled, only to stumble upon a webway gate
>literally
> the group, along with a concussed Celestian, found themselves within the mad geometries of Comorragh, city of the Dark Eldar.
> it wasn't long before the Eldar noticed their arrival and began a hunt, more interested in taking new prizes than protecting their city
>Darius and the Celestian fled deeper and deeper into the maze city, losing companions as they went.
>to their horror, the group had be intentionally led to a gladiatorial arena, where they were set upon by grotesques.
>the group fought valiantly, displeasing the dark Eldar with their unwillingness to give in
> a pirate Lord made ready to have his incubi slaughter them when, all of a sudden, as if by miracle, a baneblade ripped through the arena wall.
>Vance Stubbs, all-round fucking maniac, had driven an entire armoured column into the heart of comorragh.
> in the ensueing slaughter, hundreds died, countless Eldar treasures were pillaged and the group made their escape
>unsurprisingly, Inquisitor Darius left the system quickly before the Sisters of Battle could start asking questions

Probably the best 40k RPG we've ever run

Popular myth; there's never been any official source stating who won Soulstorm other than "not the Blood Ravens". Certainly plausible though, given how many Baneblades he had on hand.

>>46641653
Technically you don't need to destroy all enemy strongholds yourself to win Soulstorm. It's very rare, though it occasionally happens, that a stronghold is taken by a computer opponent.

It's entirely possible that the Blood Ravens were slaughtered by, say, Gorgutz, and then avenged by Stubbs.

Gorgutz is da biggest and da best after all.

It ended up being a recurring plot element in our campaigns that a squad of Sororitas was tracking us, alongside a Witch Hunter as we descended further into Radical practices.

But we nearly always stayed ahead of them thanks to the Celestian we had fought alongside, who became an informant for us and eventually a PC.
>>

Of course. Dude's noblebright visionary and turned Kaurava into a industrial sector that also produces Guardsmen second to Cadian Kasrkin. And that's something.

Hoping DoW3 makes mentions of how he's fairing.
>>
If the Planetary Governor invades and takes over another planet then he can control that one too - as long as the tithes are paid.

There are empires larger than most xenos domains ruled by individual humans within the Imperium
>>
>>46647240
Wait. Planetary Governors can pull this kind of stuff?
>>
>>46639967
Sisters got BTFO so bad they joined up with him. Is there anything Stubbs can't do?
>>
>>46647150
I hope if he is mention him in DOW3 they say that Kaurava is like a second ultramar or even better.

Is it ever stated where Kaurava is located? I imagine it must be at the border with the Tau empire.
>>
>>46647240
Wouldn't conquest like that interfere with the tithes that the high lords like so much.
>>
>>46647300
Well it is located in the Ultima Segmentum, so yeah, probably near the Tau Empire if Or'es'ka and his dudes waltzed in to annex the place.
>>
>>46647325
So maybe Kaurava becomes like a bulwark against Tau expasion, as it was stated in the victory against the Tau stronghold "it would take centuries before they would try to expand into Kaurava", So I think that would be a interesting future conflict.
>>
>>46647325
I know! When BFG is fully launched and the inevetable Tau DLC is launched and we have a campaign in the eastern fringe or the Damocles gulf, one could put the Kaurava system and Kronus as easter eggs.
>>
>>46647005
You know the rules
>>
>>46647400
This. Added the fact that Stubbs has the means to get new Baneblades, then the Tau will need a lot of Riptides to even consider going in there again.

Added that Stubbs now shaped the locals into a force to be reckoned with due to the shitloads of Military Academies and that every person is a potential Guardsman there, then Tau will have some adamantine nuts to crack.

>>46647445
That would be fun actually if they mention those two systems.
>>
>>46647400
>"it would take centuries before they would try to expand into Kaurava"

Yeah, like so many things about the Tau.

>>
>>46646657
Yeah, I miss that group, now I'm stuck with a bunch of edgelords that want to explore their own magical realms
>>
>>46647485
Why would he need so many dudes? Yeah, fortifying a system is cool, but making every planet Cadia is a bit too much.

Unless he wants to launch attacks of his own into Tau space.
>>
>>46647741
It's in order to produce shitloads of badass regiments to send off to the various warzones.

Hoping that at the time DoW3 rolls out, the Kauravan Conservators have a similar system to Vostroyans.
>>
>>46647741
Well his ending states he had ambitions of being more than the governor general of Kaurava, so I do imagine that him launching attacks in Tau space is plausible.
>>
He would still be defeated by Saitama. Saitama cannot be beaten.
>>
>>46647785
Not that anon, but I do remember that part in his ending.

Honestly, having lost or won in Kaurava, I want Or'es'Ka to have a successful character afterwards, just so his idea of employing Weapons of Mass Destruction becomes mainstream among the Tau. The invention of the Riptide, Stormsurge, and Supremacy, could be result of his command.
>>
>>46648048
>>46648048
But Or'es'Ka proved to be unefective I don't think the ethereal council aproove of his methods well atleast not the same council that saw the damocles gulf catching fire.
>>
>>46648112
*But Or'es'Ka tactics
>>
>>46648112

Who knows if they proved ineffective or not? Regardless of his success, the escalation of firepower is clear trend in firepower. If anything, his mistake is installing a static superweapon, instead of a mobile one...like the Stormsurge and Supremacy.
>>
>>46647867
Agreed. The fastest way to win the seat among the High Lords would be pulling off such stunts and reconquering planets Tau took in.

>>46647882

Actually Or'es'Ka wasn't wrong about his tactics. Problem was that he didn't have the capabilities or hardware to utilize them to their full potential.

With the likes of the Stormsurge or Ta'Unar, his tactics would be efficient.
