Primarchs are disgusting creatures.
At best, they rearranged the Legiones Astartes into their own private fiefdoms, marginalizing any strategem or branch they didn't like and squandering men, time, and resources in childish bids for self-actualization, many turning their personal homeworlds into hallowed recruiting grounds rather than recruiting across the whole of the Imperium.
At worst, they actively sabotaged the aims of the Great Crusade, turned against one another in petty rivalries and games of one-upmanship, and ultimately surrendered to their own personal failings, collapsing humanity into a civil war that nearly extinguished the whole of the Imperium.
