Is this a trick question?

Ideally it goes in the trash and C is definitely chaotic good. ASM is true neutral, as all other languages are relative to it. That or brainfuck, in that it exists simply because it can exist and does so without rhyme nor reason.

Where's COBOL?

>>46583619
According to the image you posted it goes in NG.
>>
>>46583619
Lisp isn't in there because Lisp is too perfect to be put in such a shitty alignment system.

on Rails.

>>46583619
once again, True Neutral proves itself to be the best alignment.
>>
How about Brainfuck?
>>
>>46586339
Definitely Lawful Evil.
>>

Nah, brainfuck is intentionally hard to use. I'd call that non-Neutral, but I'm not sure if it's Chaotic or just slightly dickishly Evil.

Malbolge, on the other hand, is so Chaotic Evil that it makes C++ look LG.

Not being a codefag at all but wanting to learn how to code I'd like an explanation for the correlation between languages and alignment.
Pretty plz, deeply appreciated, and all that jazz.

There's about as much of a correlation between the two as you would get trying to shoehorn D&D editions into an "alignment chart."

The mere suggestion that C# is "Lawful good" while the widely used and mostly identical C++ is "Chaotic evil" pretty much just reveals the creator's faggy .NET agenda.

Where is BASIC? Hmmm, "GO TO 100". Where is 100?

Chaotic Neutral

I wonder what criteria they used for this. Were I doing it, I'd have code readability as the G-E axis and efficiency/"properness" as the L-C axis. (So Python is CG and C++ is LN(E) )
>>
>>46589200
The L-C axis seems to be based on type strictness, Java's strict typing on the left, Javascript extremely weak typing on the right. Seems like a reasonable analogue to Law/Chaos.

The G-E axis is not very clear. I think that one is mostly based on someones biased preference. Perhaps this one should represent the degree to which the language would accomodate you to reach a certain end, i.e. much the language hinders you into taking horrible shortcuts and hacks or even encourages them. By this definition, Python would be a 'good' language, it even does not allow improper indentation. PHP would be evil, ugly hacks are sometimes even required to circumvent poorly implemented language constructs.
