Man, Todd misplayed that one turn super hard. If he'd killed the Thopter Engineer at the beginning of the combat phase, he doesn't eat an extra three damage.
Shoot the Smasher with the Axe, discard the Fall of the Titans. Discard Fiery Temper for Smasher trigger, cast it via Madness to fire off damage at the Engineer and the thopter token.
Next turn he can just draw and eat damage for a bit, then try to claw his way back into the game.
I get what he was trying to do/look at (seeing if he could nova the RW Eldrazi player down w/ a Goggled, Surged Fall of the Titans) but he was 1 card short of it.

By intro packs do you mean the intro decks that they sell? Because of so then those rarely, if ever contain any value in them.
Packs are largely hit or miss, mostly because they are not exactly designed with pulling value in mind. Best advice I can give you is if you plan to build a deck just buy the cards that you need and nothing else.
If you want to know if a deck is viable, just ask yourself about it's key cards
>Does the card work on it's own?
>Does it alter the board state
>Does it have a useful effect on cast or ETB?
>Does the card have a high CMC:power/toughness ratio?
>Does is generate value? How often does it 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 the opponent?
You'll notice that with the top decks most of the cards are good in most of the categories.Zada sucks because none of those apply to her except the last sometimes; in which case you're already winning and it's not because of her effect.

In my second box I got Arlin as well. Neither were even in the rare slot, but the flip slot. First box I got Siguarda and Arlin in the same pack and second box Sorin was in the same pack as Arlin, so I suspect she'll have a fairly high pull rate. My friend also got a box and pulled her.
