The two of you nod in agreement and follow your daughter around as she tries to greet all the people there herself. Launch and Tien are talking together, Mark and Miguel seem to be conversing with Yamcha, Acer, and Chi-chi, while their daughter almost bolted to Pantea the moment she saw her. Interestingly, she and Mr. Popo seem to be talking together... about models kits? Huh. Meanwhile Trip and Bulma are headed to the lab, seems like they're checking on the ship. Raditz is sticking with you and Goku, talking some more about what fighting a Demon Prince was like.

"We did have an interesting encounter recently." Melee adds. "A human named Melchior. He seemed to know your group...?"
Ooh this sounds interesting. "Ah yeah, Acer got his new sword from that fellow, and Chi-chi the upgrade to her Bansho Fan. What'd you guys do there?"
Melee reveals a rope dart weapon you've seen on her a couple times before, but there's something different about it. "We helped him out a bit. A small blue creature was pestering him over some equipment he was trying to get Melchior to make, started to threaten him after he asked what it was for. We drove it off, then he gave us a couple upgrades to our old weapons." The rope dart suddenly seems to move on its own, Melee smiling. "It's a useful upgrade."
You get a tiny flash of inspiration. "Saaaaay... Melee, you've been keeping up with your usage of the Clothes Beam, right? Well... think you might be able to replicate that material?"
She blinks in surprise, but starts to get what you're hinting at. "Now that you mention it... yes, I think I might." She laughs softly. "And I believe you want to analyze it yourself, don't you?"

"Hah, you really haven't changed much." The two of you head to a table to look over the rope dart, you hearing Peppa talk with her dad about using the Power Pole earlier, Goku's eyes lighting up with glee. As you look through the material, you realize that, in addition to whatever magical enhancements it has, apparently something linked to Melee's thoughts, the rope material seems to resemble... well, the armor Raditz wears. Not quite as sophisticated, but durable, stretchy, and similar in makeup to it. The dart part of it is completely new, though, and you see hints of shiny little fragments that almost seem to softly glow all the colors of the rainbow upon closer inspection. It's barely noticeable from a distance, but... it's something.
As you and Melee study trying to replicate the rope part via Clothes Beam, you manage to spot Lazuli with Chuu Lee, the blonde girl a bit less melancholy than she has been. Mr. Popo and Pantea, amusingly, have gotten to work on a Gundam model together, Videl watching them work. Upon the return of Bulma and Trip, you notice Tien... with a tiny box in his hands. Launch, in her calm, blue-haired personality, nearly seems like she's going to cry. You grin deviously. She was right on the money. Tien's words are simple, yet sweet. Launch nearly pounces a hug on him, Yamcha and Bulma looking on nostalgically as soft cheers echo through the building.

"I've done the best I can to keep prying ears away from it, and made some modifications to your ship to keep it out of their scans. It might not be perfect, but it should be enough to get you started."
"I appreciate this." Raditz states, then turns to Tien. "Looks like it will be some time before we meet again."
"Best of luck to you." the three-eyed man replies with a nod.

He laughs as he looks the gifts over. "And to think, the thought of my brother and a Tuffle together would have disgusted and infuriated me a few years ago. But... you've certainly changed that point of view. I can be proud to call you my sister-in-law." He then kneels down to the kids' level. "You two do your best for your mother and father."
"Buh-bye unkah Raddy!" Peppa says to him, hugging his arm.
Gohan does the same, smiling up at him. "Come back soon?"
"Yeah. Otherwise I'd start to miss my favorite niece and nephew." the Saiyan says with a cheerful smile.
"Oh, one more thing! Raditz, do you... think you might be able to help convince Vegeta, Nappa, Cui, and Onio to go against Freeza? I mean, I know it's a lot to ask..." you request, rubbing the back of your neck.
"Nappa might be the easiest to convince, he's seen how much stronger I've gotten by straying away from being Freeza's attack dog. I don't know about Onio, he's probably just going to follow whoever he knows is strongest. Cui is loyal to Freeza, sadly, but I'll see what I can do. Vegeta..." Radiz gives an uncomfortable look. "...I am sure he'd be out for your blood the minute he's free in even the vaguest sense."
"Fair points. But... worth a shot."
As his Space Pod takes off, Goku does a quick stretch. "Well Maple... did you have anything else in mind today?"

Goku hops on with the kids as you take to the skies with your husband, first getting some directions from your brother, then getting Goku's Power Pole from the house, ad finally heading out for Melchior. Landing just outside a little, homely-looking cottage, you and Goku approach, Peppa and Gohan staying on the Nimbus. It's a rather quiet place, but you can tell it's the home of a smith. There's a clear workshop area, and some interesting items that look like they were done for practice.
A gentle knock on the door is met with a quick reply of "I'll be right there!" As it opens, you and Goku are greeted by a kindly looking elderly gentleman. He gives a look of surprise, but smiles welcomingly. "So you two are finally here. Looks like that brother of yours was right, kiddo. What can I do for you two?"

Your eyes light up. Ah, of course he is! Oooh Maple you're going to have some fun with this, you can tell. "Well, first thing's first..."
You and Goku hand over your sword and the Power Pole, Peppa and Gohan approaching on the Nimbus. Melchior looks them over, then welcomes you all inside. Placing your weapons down on the table, he looks... almost nostalgically at the Power Pole. "It's missing some of the old ornaments, but the Nyoi-bo is still in as good a shape as ever."
"Wait, you've seen it before?" Goku questions.
Melchior nods. "But of course. Gohan showed it to me a while back, when he was much younger."
Wait... what?! Goku seems equally startled. "You mean... Grandpa?"
He nods and laughs. "And like I said back then, there's nothing I can do to significantly enhance it, not without a lot of extremely rare material. Though... if you'd like the ornaments back, I could fashion something for it."
Goku rubs the back of his neck. "Eheh! Sure, I mean, if you don't mind..."
He next looks over your sword. "Hmm... I might be able to do something with this one though. With the materials I have right now, I could give it a Shiva upgrade..."

The image of what looks like a curled shell with vibrant colors in it. You and Goku lean forward as Melchior continues explaining. "This is the Rainbow Shell, a material from a creature that existed millions of years ago. It's exceptionally rare in an intact state, but I've learned how to craft it into powerful items, things imbued with the magic present in the shells, enhanced to the point of being indestructible..." He points to the Power Pole. "Much like this Nyoi-bo."
"Wait, it actually is indestructible?" Goku questions.
He nods. "Yes, but the process used to make it so is beyond even me. And if I were to try to modify it, well, there merely aren't enough materials on Earth to make anything beyond ornamental enhancements." He points back to the Rainbow Shell. "I have skills crafting this material, though. There are shards of Rainbow Shells that end up in certain places. I was just recently in possession of a very minor one, that I used to enhance that Demon lady's rope dart."
Aha, so that's what you saw! "Well Mister Melchior, do you know where we might be able to find some more?"
He shakes his head. "Sadly I am merely a smith, not a fortuneteller..."

The following day you get started on searching for the Rainbow Shard in the Nemuria Ruins, Goku watching over the kids. In spite of you being able to scry out for the thing back at Melchior's... you waste almost the whole day trying to find it. And then the next day. And the day after that. And again, after that. You help out with the Namekian spaceship as best you can while going back down to those ruins, even bringing along some Namekian books to keep your mind working, making some progress in your study of the language.
You just can't find the damn Rainbow Shard.
You even try scrying for it a couple times more, only to be interrupted by... visions. And not helpful ones either. One of them seems to have Vegeta as... a woman? One more, on another day, you notice Bulma, with blue hair, kissing... a Saiyan woman? And then there's a little human kid on an alien planet, you assume it to be Namek, striking a pose. Though there is one helpful one out of the bunch, a more recent shows you Chuu Lee in the arena of the Mifan Tournament, staring down Tyz and Sugil. It's immediately followed by a vision of... Towa about to take a shower.
You quickly hit your head against one of the walls in a panicked attempt to get the image out of your head. Your skull turns out to be quite a bit more durable than said wall. And finally, finally! Your luck turns around. You spot a glimmer of the Rainbow Shard on the other side, quickly pulling your head out of the wall. Which damages the priceless ruins even further. Who cares, finally got the thing! You pump your fist into the air in celebration! ...it hits the roof and damages the ruins even further, causing them to collapse on you. Damage minimal, except to your pride.
Upon exiting, the sun already set, you stretch a little and do another celebratory fist pump. You've done it!

He actually manages the first go rather quickly, but insists that you head home once he has that down. You relent and make your way towards Mount Paozu, touching down again and heading in. You spot Goku with the kids asleep on the couch, Groucho the only one still awake. You chuckle softly at the sight, seems even the Super Saiyan can get tired out playing with his kids all day.
