>>
>>46529186
bees wouldn't make a hive in a metal enclosure.

wasps might but still i doubt it.
>>
>>46529186
An entire suite of plate armor? Wow, that's a very large room to be filled with plate armor! Where in it is the bee hive, we could probably just throw a mesh over that part and loot the rest.

Is it weird that I find bees cute? I would probably still avoid them in real life for fear of being stung, though, but not as much as I would with hornets.

If you dip a non-bee appropriate substance in a starter batch of wax, they can use it.
What is more important is the clearance of the armor post-dip. There is a very specific clearance bees need or they will seal a hole, but I can't remember what it was. Like 3/5 of an inch or something.
>>
>>46529260
they don't make hives in the engine block. they make hives in the interior and shit. and that's mostly wasps. i've never heard of actual bees making a hive in a vehicle.

>>
>>46529616
hornets sting evil people.
That's one of the main reasons you keep hornets around, they're dicks, but they kill literally ALL OTHER TYPES OF DICKS.
>>

Man, whoever drew this has no idea how bees look.

>>

>but they kill literally ALL OTHER TYPES OF DICKS.
kek

no. centipedes kill all the shit you don't want. hornets and wasps are just assholes that attack everything (except a few species like that mud hornet that generally just leaves you alone).
>>
>>46529856
don't joke about that anon.
I was getting into professional beekeeping when I developed a sudden allergy and it's BULLSHIT.
>>
Sounds like a great idea for cursed armor.
I wouldn't want to wear it without some sort of Command Bees spell. Hell, I wouldn't want to be in a party with it.
Try to move silently -> loud buzzing and constant vibrating of bees occupying hiving around in plate
Enemy hits it with a sword -> Angry goddamned bees that nobody wants
Enemy sits well back and plinks it with a single arrow or a rock while you're at a campsite -> They are out of angry bee range while you and your buds must now abandon your camp.
And shit it doesn't even have to be an enemy. You couldn't ride/dismount a horse or any rough carriage without pissing your armor off.
>>
>>46529913
>hornets are assholes that attack everything
yes, that is what I explicitly said.
>>
>>46529933

they don't, and there's no reason to keep them around.
>>
>>46529186

>>
>>46529968
>they don't and there is no reason to keep them around
Anon, they are a popular pesticide-free crop eating insect preventer because they DO kill all the other dicks.

Like, they're flying carnivorous swarm insects that don't have picky tastes. Pesticide duty is practically what they were made for.
>>
>>46530003
which type of hornets are we talking about
>>
>>46530030
most types, honestly. The ones that form bigger hives are naturally better for this purpose.
I would never suggest using individualistic wasps as pest control, as that's just not practical on a large scale.
>>
>>46529986
Bees swarm around their hive though anon, it'd be pretty obvious.
>>
>>46530070
Could be something like super-ordinate plate armor with stylized honeycombs of gold and bees made of gems and gold on it that come alive when worn.
>>
>>46530048
wikipedia says it's mostly the parasitic ones that are used as pest control.

not just regular ass bald face hornets or something.

Oh ouch. I guess epipens can only go so far, you have my sympathies.
I was only a hobbyist, not doing it as a profession. But a varroa outbreak in the club apiary coupled with EFB meant the hives I was looking after died.
Still got the gear, just need the money and enthusiasm to join the local apiary and start anew.
>>
>>46530182
They use nectar for energy, but quite literally require eating bugs to form new wasps.
>>
>>46529555
Orchid bees ftw. They're tiny alchemists collecting and mixing esters then storing them in pouches for later use
>>
>>46530190
Can you find any wild hives?
It's not uncommon for a honey bee hive to let out a swarm, which are generally legal to collect and restart from.

If you have all the hobby gear, you could even make some money collecting swarms by offering swarm removal services to suburbs. I used to do that on the side.
>>
>>46529186
>suite
what are we talking like a bedroom, bathroom, living room, dining room, +veranda kind deal? and it's all made of plate armor? and it's also full of bees? Like, carpeted wall to wall in bees, or floor to ceiling? Or both? Is it just not a room at all but a solid hive front to back? So like, something in the ballpark of 3750-4300ft^3 of bees How many bees is that, even? A million? 2 million? That's like a bigrig crash worth of bees. That's a good $200,000+ in bee damages. That's almost a thrid of the US apiary industry's annual average loss in bees.

>>
>>46529396
No, bees are adorable, and you shouldn't have to avoid honey or bumble bees, as they are docile and just want to do their own thing. If you dint threaten them, or the hive, then you have nothing to be afraid of.

You can actually pick up a swarm of honey bees with your bare hands as long as you dont threaten the queen, since when they swarm, they act less like individuals than usual. I don't advise trying it though.
>>
>>46530347
man, you can totally get bees to live in all sorts of metallic areas if you pre-wax it.

Except for bumblebees, who will live ANY-FUCKING-WHERE.
Goddamn bumblemees. I hate them. I hate that they get into everything. I hate that they make nests, NEVER CLEAN THEM, and abandon them when the season is over rather than cleaning.
They will in fact seal off their old nest and build a new nest on top of it sometimes, such is the laziness and stink of a bumblebee.

>And I am assuming people will pre-wax some kind of bee armor, yes.
if you're gonna make cursed bee armor you might as well make it have some kind of pocket dimension in stasis with a nest full of these fuckers.

i'd be scared shitless given what the sting wounds for these things look like and how aggressive they are.

sucks to be japanese.
>>
>>46530548
Bees not only don't have some kind of annoyance to metal, it is extremely common in commercial beekeeping to use metal (or plastic) wiring to reinforce bee frames.

Bees will naturally cover anything that doesn't have proper clearance in their hive with wax anyway, so whatever you put in there after the hive is started will probably be accepted.

Unless, I suppose, it's some nu-age material that resists all sticky things like teflon. I've never actually tried to see if I can get wax to stick to teflon.

FunFact: The Vespa mandarinia, and V.mandarinia japonica's venoms are not the most toxic of the vespoid family. In fact several other wasps and hornets outrank theirs, however none of the more potent venoms belong to species with stingers as large as the V.mandarinia's. It's actually the quarter of an inch long stinger and its ability to inject more venom per sting and deeper into the body that accounts for its high annual kill count across the asian continent and islands of Japan.

Wasps arent more or less cunts than bees.

They are bigger cowards though.

Why not make a Treant with a hive living inside him. That could be a great symbiotic relationship

Fun fact: that's how they find the nests. When the local government gets enough complaints to finally do something about a problem hive, they catch one, tie a string or ribbon around it, then release it, and track it with binoculars. When they find where it lives, they eradicate it. Usually guys in bee suits with picks and shovels. Sometimes an excavator, if it's a big'un.

>the mad king has been slain
>now the possibly most dangerous task: clearing his mad castle
>full of weird shit, like the cheese house in room 120 and the candy village in room 288, and that weird machine that rolls blunts and makes you smoke them in room 420
>clearers find a room, open it
>inside, nothing but plate armor, row after row of gleaming suits of armor
>they walk inside
>door closes behind them
>buzzing sound starts
>fuck
