So, This is not a Test (TNT) finished its Kickstarter for a hardback book. They wanted $2,000, and ended with $42,000+
Anyone else interested in TNT or other Skirmish based Wargames?
I love skirmish games. What is this?
Require Brother Vinni plug
http://www.brother-vinni.com/shop.htm#!/Nuclear-sandlot/c/5965003/offset=0&sort=normal
All I've seen of the game is there's a lot of random encounters during a game. I like the idea, but don't know how much it actually bogs the game down.

Fallout, the game.

There is actually a pretty good rundown of it on their Kickstarter page (Game is already out in PDF format, the KS was just for a hardback book)
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/57306923/this-is-not-a-test-post-apocalyptic-skimirsh-ruleb Check it out.
Here's a copy of the Full PDF.
Enjoy Anons!
(I highly recommend actually buying the game and its supplements to support it, its top notch stuff, I actually backed the recent Kickstarter after getting a free PDF here on TG)

Thank you anon, honestly the only thing I found off-putting about getting the rules before was that it was just a .pdf file, though with the new hardback book coming out I'll probably get it.
I also love the miniatures the Kickstarter has coming out, they look wonderful.
Does /tg/ want to help me Flesh out my Preserver Warband (Think Brotherhood of Steel) ?
>>46528326
The small backstory I have for them as Follows.
They are a Distant Recon Team that has become wildly lost a running battle with Mutant/Raiders that ended with them all in a massive storm.
When the storm ended (several days later) They found themselves far out of their normal Recon patrol, and the way back blocked by a new fast moving river.
The only 2 living members are left The Lore-Keeper (Warband leader) and "The Savant" Tech Sgt. in Charge or Robot/Equipment Maintenance. The Rest of the Recon Team is ROBOTs
The Wrek-it-Bot: Heavy Melee Bot
The Depend-o-Bot: General Purpose Bob
and the "Heal-o-Matic: Melee Weak. Range Weak Healer.
>>46528603
That sounds interesting enough for a warband, maybe they found an old Robco facility or a warehouse to hide out in.
But why are they still fighting? Are they trying to find a way back or get back at those mutants/Raiders that stranded them?
>>46528178
Hell yeah, I've been supporting the whole set of linked PA minis sets - the Carcass one ended not too long ago, Shangri-LA too, and TnT and another one just ended today.
Good time to get into PA minis-squad-gaming.
Can I play with 15mm scale models? I have a load of post-apoc stuff in that scale.
>>46528928
The rules actually mention converting them into 15mm.
>>46528674
I was thinking that with no immediate way back to their Home Area, they have decided to dig in (I like the old Roboco/Robot Manufacturing base) and to recruit from the local populace... The Lore-Keeper thinks there could be a lot of valuable and worthwhile tech in the area, as evidenced by the Robco plant (Love that idea, thanks)
Hes naming this endeavor Operation Spear point
I need names and Personalities for the 2 humans and the Robots.
The Lore-Keeper is Male, and the Savant Female. He has top notch Combat Armor, and a tricked out Shotgun (High Caliber mods, pre-war Ammo) and she has a stealth suit, and a tricked out Rifle.
They both have a hard-on against Raiders
>>46529069
Yes you absolutely can, the Dev mentions that 15mm is totally doable and most people don't even change / convert the measurements (move distance) and the like, and it still plays fine.
>>46529069
>>46529124
Nice! I'll have to give this game a try at some point. Are there any rules for vehicles at all?
>>46527767
How long does it normally take for your Brother Vinni models to show up?
>>46529218
It's mentioned as being a future expansion thing - the goal is for it to be more Necromunda style now, WH40k 2e later.
>>46529087
>with no immediate way back to their Home Area, they have decided to dig in and to recruit from the local populace
>hard-on against Raiders
Well, considering they're a Recon team, holing up in a robco facility and trying to get support from the local populace lends itself to a backstory of looking for supplies and support for wherever their home base is.
The Preservationsit group they come from obviously has the expertise to get and use higher technologies (Hence why your recon group was able to use robotics), but they lack the numbers to do much other than wait and watch the surrounding wasteland for opportunities to expand. Your little recon group obviously found that in a nearby city with its own Robco facility and a once-peaceful populace that's now harried by raiding groups and mutants from beyond.
Now that your recon group found a cache of tech that they can lead their friends to, all they need is to convince the locals that they're not slavers, a task in and of itself because of their recent misfortunes. They simply decided that eliminating the local raiders is the fastest, and best, way of doing the job.
>>46529561
I like that alot.
Im going to try and focus on laying traps and ambushes for opposing warbands to counter my smaller numbers.
I'm still picking skills and such for the group. Got weapons and gear mostly down atm. I'll post them in a few.
Bumping before I go to work, but a really good resource for miniatures that'll fit into TinaT and Fallout gaming in general would be the Reaper Chronoscope range, with a number of different characters that would be perfect for Fallout games like pic related.
>>46530126
Nah, tried them - they're waaay too soft, and the mold-lines are a complete bitch to remove - not to mention tthat they're too small when compared to TnT and 40k minis.
>>46530126
double posting yes,
But, if you're interested in something roughly around the size of Chronoscope that's plastic and cheaper than 40k - get into the Perry Plastics - the Zouaves are going to make the basis for my caravaners (they just look like weird caravaners).

Not the Bones line, the regular metal Chronoscope.
Anyone got suggestions on how to crack the road like the pictures show? Was thinking foamcore with sandpaper for a texture, and ragged cuts.
>>46534461
What picture?
>>46534754
It would help if 4chan didn't eat my image.
>>46534841
Not sure how they did that one, but Im going to give this a try for roads.

I've heard skateboard grip tape could also work.
>>46535007
That looks REALLY good. I might just try it myself.
BUMP

Im going to pick some up tomorrow.
So I'm curious, beyond what you see in the video games, is there any more information on the Fallout world?
That, and what are some good Post Apocalyptic series to help inspire gamers who want to write their own stories for TinaT?
>>46539190
No anon, it's left pretty deliberately vague so you can run it your way.
I'd personally just straight up run it in the Fallout universe (with the Brother Vinni stuff) to attract a lot of people who'd otherwise not be down for a Necromunda style skirmish game.
But, don't set it in a place people already know - we've seen Boston, DC, CA, and NV done to death - there's tons of other locations to explore!
>>46539190
>So I'm curious, beyond what you see in the video games, is there any more information on the Fallout world?
There's the Fallout Bibles from before Bethesda. They have a lot of lore.
There's also Van Buren, the unfinished game by Black Isle and the planned-to-be Fallout 3. Significant parts of it were later put into New Vegas but there's a lot that didn't make it.
>>46539190
>>46540679
I'll add that Van Buren was set on the other side of Hoover Dam. You may have heard of many of these locations said by NPC's in New Vegas.

I've got a whole bunch of minis I'm using for a Fallout RPG and my friend and I just backed this project so I foresee some TnT games in the near future.
>>46530126
It's not cheap, but you can make some neato post-apoc minis in heroforge by mixing Modern, Fantasy and Sci-Fi creatively.
That backstory of an unassailable america while they fight everyone makes my eyes roll till they hurt. Probably related to my current HFY hatred.
Though I suppose that's the same for Fallout where only alaska was in any sort of trouble.

Suffering from BUMP madness?
Anyone know any other good Wasteland Mutant miniatures out there?

"The Road" is a good one, if also tremendously depressing.
The book version of "The Postman" is a good read. Avoid the film.
I actually enjoyed the first book or two of S.M. Stirling's Emberverse ("Dies the Fire" is the first one) but I didn't find the rest of the series worth reading.
"Alas, Babylon" is good, although there's not quite as much combat. It's mostly about picking up the pieces in the immediate aftermath of a nuclear war.
I'd like to put together a Peacekeeper warband that's based on the remnants of a pre-apocalypse military unit. The survivors settled down somewhere and their purpose has been passed down via oral tradition for the last century and a half, so there's this sort of weird, telephone-ish mishmash of what they actually were and stood for. Probably with a semi-feudal "Colonel" as their leader (would also work for a tribal band, now that I think about it).

Sounds fun! :D
