SHAKARA!
The galaxy has descended into anarchy. The Great Terror waxes strong as planets, civilisations and even star systems are consumed by war and devastation. But a vengeful figure has emerged from the chaos, striking at targets with a ruthless determination and but a single word on its lips...
Five years ago today I began posting 2000AD stories like Shakara as sources of inspiration and ideas for various /tg/ games, so I thought it would be nice to revisit this tale of vengeance, betrayal and ludicrous violence. The constantly escalating, highly imaginative action story Shakara is not only a thrilling read and an interesting universe to explore in itself, but it is also one of the few stories outside of Games Workshop productions to really show what a creature like an Eversor assassin would be like.
The last human. What adventures will he have, I wonder?
Oh.
Slight change of pace for the next part.
If anyone is reading along, would you mind bumping the thread occasionally as I cannot.
Its all very Carpet People.

Fuck yeah SHAKARA!
Good on you anon.
Excuse the delay, I had to sort something out.

Ah, good old Shakara. The most realistic humanity in space scenario ever.
This series is great, too bad afterthe Overlordshows up the powercreep gets ridiculous.
I like to imagine The Voice sounding like either The Voice Of The Mysterons from Captain Scarlet or Tony Jay as the Legacy of Kain's Elder God.

That does seem likely, yes.

I do have to wonder, if she has infinite bodies why did she need to put all of them in range of shakara?

what function does the extra long abdomen serve

To look creepy?
>>46521948
Presumably it was all the reinforcements that were coming. In an infinite number of them there must have been some universes where she was bright enough to not to tangle with Shakara.

...good question. Style points?

Hey, this is some real good stuff. If you have download links (like you had for the first "book") mind putting that up?

Its well worth buying if you can. There's two collections that have the whole lot - "Shakara the Avenger" has the first three stories while "Shakara the Destroyer" has the last two. The one simply called Shakara with the Op image as the cover is just the first story, albeit in a slightly larger hardback.
>>46522236
Thanks man, I plan on buying the two collections with my next paycheck.
>>46522283
Glad to be of help! The documentary "Future Shock! The Story Of 2000 AD" is also fantastic. It was on tv last night, if I'd thought I could have done this yesterday as a leadup to it. C'est la vie.
Taking a short break now, but I'll be back later to do the next part.

I've just found I'm missing a few pages, be with you shortly.
I love this wanted poster.
>Next: Terror of the Teknosaurs
Oh boy oh boy
Yay!
This is one of my favourite pages in the whole series for how well it shows speed and movement. The fact its an alien assassin slicing up cyborg dinosaurs doesn't hurt either.

So ends the first volume of Shakara stories, which is handy given we're almost out of images in this thread! I'm going to go find something to eat, then all being well I'll come back to do the last part.

bless you anon! This shit is great.
Hey /tg/,
I asked /co/ and they don't know shit about it, but, does anyone know of a mediafire/megaupload where I could find issues of "Nemesis the Warlock" or that super sweet vampire comic with the robot T-rexes and stuff, I want to use it for my 40k RP game.
Hi all. I'm just putting together an OP for the second thread.
>>46525482
There's two more stories left where your questions will be answered.
>>46528703
I can help you there. I did all but the last two Books of Nemesis at Christmas
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/ufdv45955l0x2/Nemesis
Its missing a few of the minor stories for some reason, but all ten of the major ones are there. You can also buy the whole lot for very reasonable prices in three black and white omnibus editions, like the Dredd case files and there's a "Nemesis the Warlock: Deviant Edition" that reprints all the colour comics in high quality. Highly recommended because they're very crisply scanned and printed.
The other comic is also by Pat Mills, but it was in Heavy Metal rather than 2000ad.

Should work fora while, but bear in mind links to it often get taken down. All but the most recent book has been translated into English and is reasonably cheap to get. There's also a board game coming soon.
The Robot T-Rexes was one (admittedly gorgeous) spread in book... eight, I think. If you want an entire book of robot animals you'll want METALZOIC (again, like Nemesis the Warlock, Pat Mills & )
Thanks op for reminding me that not all english speaking comics are Marvel and DC soap opera shit or atrocious pseudomanga tumblr comics. sometimes i forget it

There's loads of references like that scattered throughout. Dune, Space Invaders, Lara Croft and Indiana Jones, some call backs to other 2000ad strips, all sorts. They're mostly fairly obvious so I haven't been pointing them out - half the fun is seeing them for yourself!
