Those are some mighty fine WORDS.

>>46506221
I just realized that the other paladin is a woman.
>>
>>46506221
So Narwhal Dragons.
Sounds legit.
>>
>>46506453
>>46506453
Yrthaks were a thing in Monster Manual 3.5, kinda.
>>
>>46506221
Korean paladins?
>>
>>46506531
About to be Korean paladin, singular.
>>
>>46506221

>There wouldn't need to be paladins if the world was, like, fair.

Okay most of the dialogue in this strip is really clunky and unnecessary.

But that line is pretty damn great.
>>
>>46506491
I thought those were bright green
>>

>characterization
>unnecessary

Okay pal. Enjoy you cardboard cutout puppet theatre, where characters don't matter as long as things are happening.
>>
>>46506221
Blah blah blah blah fuck you. Rich can go eat a gigantic bag of dicks, I'm sick of this shit.
>>
so is that a frost giant or...?
>>
>>46507112
You can have characterization without putting a literal wall of text in a goddamned comic. Why use a visual media to tell a story if you're not actually using the visual part of it?

Huh, for some reason I always thought she and Hinjo were a thing.
>>
>>46507112

If the point of this dialogue was to characterize Lien as someone who likes to yammer on about pointless crap, then I guess it succeeded.
>>
>>46507262
*medium

But you're correct. Too many webcomic authors turn their shit into a fucking novel.
>>
>>46507621
Yeah, I realized the typo after I hit the post button...

I just got off from work.

But yeah, way too many webcomic authors refrain from actually using visual methods of storytelling. I don't mind reading a novel, but I do mind a novel being wrapped up in the trappings of a webcomic and not using any of the advantages that the medium provides over a traditional novel.

Also, like 90% of the dialogue in the OP's strip is entirely unnecessary. It's probably a believable conversation between the two characters - I don't know, I've never read OoTS - but it drags on for too long without actually going anywhere.
>>
>>46507707

These are two characters from waaaaaay back in the first half of the comic who only now are showing up. Both of them have more depth than what we see here. Lien, the spear-wielding lady, is a paladin with a tendency for sarcasm. The older guy is Hinjo, and he's basically a mix of Lawful Good Paladin and proud, honarabru samoorai.

Most of this conversation just seems to be there to remind us about where they came from (a coastal city that got sacked during one of the comic's better plot arcs).

Someone remind me where these assholes are and what they're trying to accomplish.
>>
>>46507877
That's O'chuul, not Hinjo. Easy mistake to make, seeing as neither of them have showed up for a while. O'chuul is probably my favorite character, and a strong contender for the most "good" character in the strip.
>>46507941
Not bad, though the text is crowded in some spots. And cutting the line "biting you in the butt" loses what I'm pretty sure was supposed to be an intentional juxtaposition with the appearance of a toothy monster behind them.

Does anyone still have the Trump 2016 Thog? I lost most of my Thog's because some fucker stole my notebook.
>>
>>46506221
The comic is literally a story now. Why would you complain about WORDS?
>>
>>46508331
It's possible to tell a story without wordswordswords, especially in a visual medium such as a comic. Show, don't tell.
>>
>>46506245
She has blue hair and fights for justice anon, what about that says male?
Yes I'm only joking. Not that I would need to explain that here where we pride ourselves on not getting worked up about things.
>>
I'm not sure what the narrative purpose of these last two strips has been.
>>
>>46508544
You, I like you.
>>
>>46508331
People in real life don't have conversations with each other when there's nothing to do but walk somewhere, anon.

They perform interpretive dance at each other to better convey the deepest character of their beings.

I actually wish he'd use all-text comics for things like this, maybe he'd be able to push out updates faster like Erfworld.

...No. Had to be on purpose. Must not rise to bait.

That might have been the worst possible way to write that, but I'm not sure.

it's an arctic yrthak, being ridden by a wendigo, or wendigo-themed shaman
it's not big enough to be a frost giant

I like how he justifies O-chul being a cartoonish caricature of a paladin, which is already a cartoonish caricature the popular good guy stereotype, so it's like three or four levels removed from anything recognizably human, by having other characters poke fun at how he's so completely selfless about everything, all the time.
>>
>>46506637
One has a spear
the other is O'chuk

They'll be fine,.
>>
>>46507621
>>46507707
Consider the state of the artwork. The author wants to put as much text in as possible to make up for that.

good, but combined with the title there actually is a joke worth having.
