Growing up in a warzone as a child soldier, all his life he knew nothing but death and the rule of the strong.

One day, in his mid-teens, he saw a recording of a TV show from a far away land. It was an eating contest. These people had so much food they were seeing how much of it they could eat, just for fun.

Something inside him snapped. Now he will avenge himself on the decadent and the privileged, taking as many of them down with him as he can.

She will throw off the established way of things and prove that she can become more powerful and feared than her father ever was.

That's how western SJWs imagine people from a third world country to think.

The Head of State is an immortal lich. Electing her was a good idea at the time, 100 years ago.

Now she's refusing the let the land modernise and stay competitive. People are dying of disease and famine which could be avoided.

She must die.
>>
>>46483384

Even within his own character it's inconsistent. You said yourself that he obviously knows and respects the rule of the strong and then people on the other side of the world being more successful than him is driving him over the edge? After serving years of service as cannon fodder for rich warlords?

Sorry no, not convincing. Reads a lot like a clichey agenda piece, putting the message above internal consistency.

Well, there's
>An old god who intensely dislikes the PCs messing with his turf, whose goal is to chill and subtly make existence miserable in his domain, and will spring a trap ensuring the party is doomed to an eternity of torment in his personnal pocket realm.
>A new god, born of the ashes of a old one and of the millenia of will and work of his servants, who will stop at nothing to ensure both his promise of paradise to his minions, and his promise of assimilation to every other soul in the continent, will be kept.
>A misguided and maddened, but powerful servant of that same new god, who is ready to erase this World's most beautiful and precious city and one of its gods to speed up the birth of his master.
>A advanced shapeshifter, invisible to any form of divination, who seeks revenge on the party and the gods they serve.
>A pragmatic and ambitious would-be ruler who wouldn't shy away from using the PCs as her tools to grab the throne, being right in believing the current system is corrupt and inefficient and needs radical change.

In my settings, "Gods" strongly resemble Morrowind's Tribunal at its peak, being entities that walk amongst mortals, though vastly superior in power.

The main antagonist is trying to control trade in a region. By hook, by crook, and by mook.

Other than that it's a fairly uninteresting character who isn't really capable of putting up an actual fight against the heroes should they decide to try and force it. Knowing my players, they probably won't and everything will be hunky-dory.

Most minor antagonists aren't even really related to main antagonist. They're players in the trade markets, random monsters, nefarious teacup ninjas, etc.

Actually, would 'Reasonable Hitler' be the perfect opponent for a party of PCs that refuse to take an interest in the plot? You know, that gang of mercenaries, edgelords and 'not what my character would do's?

You inundate them with news about this guy. Every day he's doing something new. NPCs they meet tell them about how Mr Hitler is going to save the kingdom from itself. Elves they meet complain that they feel like a target. But he never messes with them, so the party does nothing. He doesn't kill the questgiver or their NPC friend or send minions to rough them up. So the party carries on what they're doing, and Hitler carries on growing in power.

Before you know it, they're required to apply for adventuring licenses and to carry a weapons permit with them. Spot checks everywhere they go. They get an offer to work for the local government as hired thugs. Later they get an offer to put down an Elvish riot.

Eventually weapons are banned for all non-governmental personnel. The Elves begin to disappear. The PCs begin to run out of work. But he's still not messing with them, so they carry on doing nothing.

Then you start dropping atrocities in a few at a time. Eventually they'll conform to the system or be executed as subversives.

See how long you can drag the farce of PCs refusing to take action in the face of overwhelming evil out for. Turn the story from one about the duty of good men to one of hopelessness. There's nobody left to revolt because they missed all their chances.

Then if you want to save the campaign, have the Hitlersville declare war on the Fire Nation.

Anyone that stands to lose something once the gang wars start.

If the Dons are likeable in their way you have a reason to side with them but to be honest, any game of this nature should allow the PCs to move between sides at appropriate times.

It shouldn't be easy, but when a boss goes down they should be allowed to join someone else so long as they can prove their sincerity. Have them cultivate a jovial relationship with the other gang leaders even as they raid their safehouses and gun down their mooks. It's nothing personal, just business.

Well basically i came up with an antagonist / BBEG from reading the posts here.

First i must tell you about the setting.

Setting is basically NOT Venice, a country called Gatonia, that is Neutral. Gatonia has come under attack by a consortium of Mercenary companies. These companies comprise of highly trained mercenaries with cutting edge gear. Most of the fights revolve around mobile suits. These suits are not gigantic but actually the size of tau crisis suits. The Gatonian suits tend to be smaller and less advanced or specialised, but their mane advantage is that they can move amphibiously without significant modifications. The majority of the game will revolve around scavenging better gear from the merc's and undermining their plan.

It is not understood why the Consortium of Mercenary companies would attack a neutral country or what it wants with it, but it slowly comes out that their leader is a Savant Military Simulator Analyst. He may or may not be autistic, but his plans are of byzantine complexity. Its unknown what his true intentions are but it slowly transpires that he wants control of the worlds tax haven banks, by using a neutral country.

Antagonist is one of the world's original three Gods. He was for a world with simple, logical rules and interactions extrapolated from those rules. He was much more reasonable than his partners—he was willing to allow those rules to be loose at best, and would even permit such things as magic to exist.

Before they could create the world, his two companions betrayed him and locked him away. They then proceeded to create a world with almost no rules. Land spirals through the air, light comes from nowhere, and the seasons are magically generated. Of course, such a world is complicated to maintain, so they created a large number of sub-gods to help them manage it, and built a mighty temple to all of them in the center of the world. After they'd done this, they vanished, to run things behind the scenes.

Every few hundred thousand years the one they betrayed gains enough strength to make an escape attempt, but always fails. During this time, the two overgods are more concerned with fighting him than anything, so the Undergods are vulnerable to the use of certain magical artifacts. When the battle is over, the two overgods have a brief meeting with the undergods, then disappear again.

Unfortunately for the world at large, the betrayed overgod's escape attempt succeeded this time. He looked upon the world and saw what his two partners had wrought. Cosmic brats with divine power treat mortals as playthings, huge beasts laugh at limitations as they destroy cities and enslave the innocent, and the most evil tyrants find magical ways to eternally escape justice.

Obviously, this world is lost. The betrayed must destroy it and start again—this time, without even allowing magic to exist. Simple rules for a simple world. Sure, that's going to involve killing everything currently alive, but it's a small price to pay for the long-term benefit.

Tried my hand at writing a neutral-aligned "destroy everything" antagonist. How did I do?
>>
No idea. It's a clusterfuck full of drow rising up to kill off a town for their god. But someone's also behind using the drow for their own ends. It's some machiavellian shit and I can't find who's pulling the strings of all the various parties yet.
>>
>>46484281
Idk. If he doesn't care about the people residing on the world then why does he care if their world is fucked.

Maybe put a secret plan that he wants to reincarnate the world's inhabitants onto his world once its destroyed, and the PCs dont know that or something.
>>
>>46483188
They're trying to be the most popular band in all of history, as are the heroes, and will stop at nothing to achieve their stardom. It's an all-bard campaign.
>>
>Lived in a place where profound emotions were meant to be blessings (specifically great mourning)
>His father was killed when he was a child by one of the original beings of the planet in attempt to solidify their relationship
>Antagonist spends his entire life serving the original being whilst infiltrating the setting's more stable civilization
>Rises through the ranks, is a hero to the people, all whilst serving the original being involving experimentation on orphans
>Even more all the while, he has been secretly trying to find a weakness to kill the original being

Not supposed to be relatable or seen as an ends justify the means sort of guy as much as a man selfishly searching for a catharsis he has been cultivating since childhood.
>>
>>46484374
He cares about the long-term good. Right now, several billion people are living in tyranny. If he destroys the world, that causes some amount of disutility. He thinks that the utility of people living in non-tyranny for the lifetime of a universe far outweighs the disutility he will cause by committing omnicide once.

Note: I am not a utilitarian and I think his logic is flawed.
>>
>>46484281

Seems like a pretty good idea. He wants there to be order and make a more just world, but that just so happens to fuck over the inhabitants currently in the world. He's not exactly evil and wants to do good, but that comes at the expense of everyone currently there.
>>
>>46484430
He should command the PCs to build a boat and put two of every animal aboard.
>>
>>46484609
And beat the crap out of every single one of them?
>>
>>46484532
That's the idea.

I'm not going to play him as some tragic hero, though. He definitely has an arrogant streak, and I want it to be ambiguous how much is genuine, and how much is a "Fuck you" to the people that created the world without him.

>>46484609
I don't think that would work, considering the fact that he's destroying all of existence.

>>46484631
And that's why any time a bunch of animals are together, it's called a zoo!

...Unless it's a farm!

The primary antagonist is extremely old with an ability that allowed him to see the entire fate of a person upon contact. He found himself in a situation where he was most likely to die but was saved by a young knight. There was no way either could have known at the time but the knight that saved him was essentially God.

Naturally he shook his saviors hand only to see all of creation and existence fill his head in an instant. The knight would forget about this event and ascend to godhood whereby all of creation would be retroactively made. That being said the antagonist had become overwhelmed with the burden of reality.

Through the ultimate truth he realized that God only existed through the power of thought people had in their world. He made a plan to instill the fear of God unto all people by subtly pulling the strings behind major wars and quietly pushing the central beliefs of his faith.

He eventually made a huge mistake and has since then developed long term memory loss. He no longer understands what he's doing and why but had the foresight to write down his plans at least so that he may keep them. He is at a loss knowing the dark deeds he does are heinous in nature but trusts that his previously sane self knew the truth.

So in short is just following his own plans in order to preserve the creation of God and subsequently the entire universe but he and anyone else for that matter are not aware of this. I'm not really sure what should be done to stop him but many of his plans result in mass genocide of certain cultures. Some are even pacifist monks that preach inner tranquility and thus actively take away from the thought giving God power.

There's six of them, all of which are Old Gods, Fey Lords, or Demonic Tyrants, and they all want to achieve apotheosis with this world and merge their will with reality. Not anything super nebulous and there's nothing "special" about this reality except that it's boundaries have been substantially weakened lately. It's just routine expansion of their domains for the most part, while also scrambling to fill a power vacuum in the "other realities" they inhabit, which this conquest would achieve.

Can't really elaborate much more, I know for a fact my players browse tg

The primary antagonist had a near-death experience when he was younger and it terrified him of death beyond normal. He decided to avoid death by any means. He's not much of a fighter and relies on his underlings to do all the dangerous field work.

Right now the players are basically running into his servants and getting glimpses of the guy's plan through them.

Destruction. Pure, clean, simple destruction. Well I mean... The REAL bbeg.

The current one is a necromancer that the PCs are trying to stop who is the only one who currently knows about the real bbeg and is only trying to create a force strong enough to defeat him through necromancy. It's going to be delicious when the PCs kill the mancer, decrypt his journal/necromancy research book thay contains the prophecy about the real BBEG after killing the nexromancer and realize what the true threat is. The best part is that they already know the prophecy and think it's a silly children's rhyme

Old Campaign that ended that I DMed but the Antagonist as the players perceived only found out later that he was actually involved in a prophecy that required the sacrifice of thousands if not millions of people to protect the entire world from an even greater threat, He had good intentions but was rather antagonistic due to his perception of self righteousness in being the only one who felt he could do it.
His mindset was to let 1(million) man die if it's to save 10(million) people The PC's main goal was trying to mitigate the collateral and find a 3rd option, They managed, barely.

Well OP do i have an antagonist for you. Currently about to start season 4 of a grueling campaign where the various outcomes and storylines are coming to a head. Our Antagonist Was once a PC who went so far, gave up so much of themselves, denied every opportunity for redemption, and eventually became an enemy who could possibly destroy the Imperium of man (Rogue trader campaign btw)

His character started out as an astropath who was basically enslaved by our current Rogue Traders father, our PC RT freed him and let him do anything he wants but instead the (lets just refer to him as the antag. for now) decides hey Im just gunna fuck over this guys family name. So we begin our adventures of making money and the antag generally fucks with stuff and makes it harder to accomplish our goals. but is at least half on board most of the time. Over time he becomes more and more ...overt with his bullshit and his character's morality degrades and it comes to a boiling point where we're on a xenos space station in the middle of uncharted space. He dicks around with some eldar and gets shot up and runs to find medical assistance from some shitty hole in the wall doctor and mind controls this guy. he tries to offer the doctor a place aboard our vessel but the doctors wife comes home and understands something is wrong. The Antag then losses all morality and forces this man to kill his husband, a tear in his eye as he chokes the life from her. and then forces him to kill himself.
*earlier we lost our astropath and antag is trying to find his soul in the warp*
*instead finds demon prince and makes a deal. 1000 souls for power*
Fast forward a little and the antag now has an underground drug ring and is being used by lower deck chaos worshippers to be part of a full scale rebellion.
>>
he single handedly walks around murdering over 1000 civvies and basically becomes a demon but hides it via magic n stuff. several things lead to his attempted assassination but GM has plot plans so fuck me.

he escapes and becomes a pirate and becomes an NPC
friend creates new character who was a adopted daughter of this guy and for some reason calls this guy back to "help"

We now have an entire season of dealing with basically a demon prince who was once a PC right next to holy terra.

In the beginning, the creator god created an immortal, indestructible being to be the spectator of his work for all eternity.

But all eternity is quite long for one with the mind of a mortal, and for whom time passes so painstakingly slowly. The watcher begs for death, but is denied so. After countless pleas, and countless rejections, the creator god, irritated and shameful of his spectator's reaction, concedes him the right to die - but only when all sentient life will leave the world.

So of course the smartass tries to speed that up.

Depending on your point of view, they're either trying to destroy a particular blend of socialism because they think spoiling the common people will place too many demands on the economy for no gain and plunge the world into a miserable depression, or they're trying to conquer the capitalist nations who launched an attack against them to ensure they can never attack again.

Just depends who the antagonists are; the socialists or the capitalists?
>>
>>46488310
See, theres the thing. Protagonist just means ''person around whom the plot and narrative unfolds''.

But to make it simpler, what are the aims of the person opposing your pcs? If theres multiple, what is the aim of the most significant one?

So being as the game has not started yet there is no true antagonist but their are factions the players can piss off

> Faction 1: Wants to instate their ruler (who they believe to be the daughter of a god) as sole supreme leader of the world.

>Faction 2: A council of 12 nobles who are trying to compete with each other to expand their empire. Though some of them are trying to make an attempt to usurp the other 11.

>Faction 3: Trying to combine every single plane of existence into one super plane.. Which they of course shall rule

>Faction 4: A Magi nation attempting to find a way to possibly harness the powers of dead gods to bring the entire nation to ascension... Which they of course will then take over the world

>Faction 5: A built on the backs of an undead workforce seeks to try to complete a grand artifact that according to legend will lead to millenia upon millenia of peace and prosperity. This may or may not allow them to also rule the world.

Basically a shit ton of poloticking. And because of the super weapons that each nation posses full scale war means utter doom. So its up to the PC's to do... Something... Still haven't figured out a general plot yet

For his decades long plan of manipulating popular media to desensitize the Kine to the existence of Vampires to come to fruition. After more than a century of careful social engineering in the Western World to make it a tolerant and accepting place to all individuals the Masquerade will be abolished and the Kine will willingly take their place at the feet of all Kindred.

There will be a false-flag attack using a U.S. black ops team to annihilate a grouping of his rivals recorded and broadcast to the unsuspecting people of the world and soon after mountains of evidence will emerge pointing at Vampires being a repressed minority for centuries for seemingly archaic and regressive reasons. Dominated pillars of the scientific community will produce a vast body of studies proving that Vampirism is a biological condition and not supernatural at all while blocking and discrediting any and all research done by free minds. Vampires are real. Vampires are oppressed. Vampires are sexy. The youth of the entire Western World will willingly heap privileges on the newly outed Kindred.

Simultaneously, a shadow war will wage against all Kindred that dare resist the new vampire order. The world will no longer be a gilded cage and the Kindred will finally take their place as the rightful masters of Earth.

Depends on which antagonist?
First layer antagonist just wants to trade drugs.
Second layers antagonist is using the guy that wants to trade drugs to distract the city and it's heroes so that he can regain power over multiple aspects the city that his father had many years ago and he is using third layer villain to help him out.
Third layer villain is a congressman that actually serves a secret organization and she is using her metahuman genius son to create a teleporting machine using hyper-crystals. Drugs are, hence why drugs are hard to trace because first player villain is using shitty weak teleporting machines to get the drugs from cuba and other shitholes.
Fourth layer villains are ancient telepath cult that formed a hivemind and are trying to distabilize and conquer the world, then through chain link of powerful telepaths consume all of humanity into their hivemind because they believe that hivemind is the single most rational and productive entity that has ever existed on this planet and it's good for mankind to join it. Also they have telepathic ninjas.

Only priority becomes food. Sells out mother and older brother for food because she gave his brother more food than him. They get executed. He feels nothing. A nice man from the outside world is thrown in the work camp. Tells him stories about other countries and the food they have. These stories of feed become the motivation for the escape attempt. Not freedom, not safety, not and end to the torture and pain. Only hunger. During their escape attempt, the nice man is fried by the electrified barbed wire, the kid has to use his friend body as a bridge to cross. Only after escaping to the outside world and eating as much food as he can does he manage to evolve other needs and priorities than food, and confesses in interviews that he was essentially like an animal because of the hunger.

There's a growing school of thought that holds that the party are the antagonists now. Supporters of this theory are local government, the media, the vast majority of the populace, the police force, and several other powerful people.

Our party holds that they're simply misunderstood, and their bloodthirsty quest for revenge is entirely justified. We weren't wrong when we started, but our decision to use large quantities of explosives to solve most problems has probably crossed a line.
>>
Being the last lieutenant of a heretical order the PCs of two campaigns essentially crushed, he wants to get revenge on them. The current party is working for one of the allied factions of these previous games, so they're in the crosshairs too.

The guy has no capacity to achieve this on his own, but due to a combination of luck and circumstance, he is poised to resurrect Acererak, the legendary necromancer. If Acererak kills him, he'll accept that, since everyone else is going to go down too.

The PCs have fucked up and it's essentially inevitable at this point.

This isnt a simple question but...

Right now the party is fighting the leader of a local thieves guild. He is motivated purely by the money the next antagonist paid him and because THAT antagonist is hot and he wants to fuck her.

She is trying use an alien spaceship buried underneath the town to provide the final power source for her boss's doomsday device.

Her boss is another antagonist and a demi god. He is the offspring of the god of machines and he wants to destroy non machine life and kill his parent.

His parent is likely the true antagonist. Thats a god. It is however a new God, and it has limited influence over the world because it only recently acheived deification and it is still trapped in a physical form. That antagonists goal is to be released into the world.

Admiral Teach, Anne Barbanegra
Primarily acquisition of power and money, and lots of it.

Anne Barbanegra Teach the Lesser, daughter of Anne Teach the Greater and Captain Barbanegra, is a willful and selfish lady. Inheriting her fathers seafaring skills and her mothers shrewd political mind, she quickly rose to fame within the Royal Navy and before long had surpassed her own father in rank.

As the colonies in the Lapis sea, far to the south at the very edges of the Empire, became mired in pirates and freelancers, a plan was devised to raise a fleet to police the waters. Admiral Teach, seeing opportunity far away from all-seeing eyes of the crown, volunteered to lead.it.
Due to logistics, supply and communication issues close to half a world away at the very edges of the Empire, she's been given a letter of pardon signed and sealed by Empress Aina of Caledonia to excuse any actions she or those in her service undertake in representing the ideals of the Empire, with the sole criminal exception being high treason.

She's set herself up as governor of all Caledonian colonies, queen of three separate island nations and a demi-goddess figure on one more.
She holds all of the liquor and spice trade in a stranglehold, controls the slave trade and collects 'protection' funds from the Pirates in the region lest they 'happen to be spotted' by the navy.
The only metaphorical pies she doesn't have fingers in is coffee, tea, precious metals and minerals trades as that would probably constitute high treason.

We, however, care nothing about the politics. We oppose her for the simple reason that Pirates, now that they pay to be unmolested by the Navy, have gotten far bolder. Many have even started to band together for greater profits.
Whilst Teach and the Empire may wilfully ignore the people beyond the borders of the map, it's a prime target for enterprising privateers.

Now we just need a plan to take her out that won't set the world-spanning Empire hot on our tails.

The Antagonist is trying he actually sort of succeeded, it's just the outer planes are currently in in a state of total war to undo his work to rid the world of the many gods ruling over mortals, by cutting them off of the Material Plane, and subsiding himself as the sole benevolent and equally vengeful ruler of all existence, so mortals can cease to be playthings in petty rivalries between greater beings, and over time, develop a world that lives in harmony with itself.

It's just that he kind of needs to get rid of everyone who'd stand up against the new god of the universe. You understand.

So, my major antagonist:
>A former angel who during the great war in heaven was on neither side - instead, she's without a home and will do anything to get back into Heaven. She needs to make Heaven notice her again, though.

Three other major antagonists are her thralls:
>A man who wants to protect his minority group at all costs, and sees nothing wrong with doing to others what they have done to his people
>An occultist who communicated with this angel, but lost himself in the process. Where his soul used to be, there's now the pure energy of the spirit world, in all its chaotic, schizophrenic glory
>A scientist with a terminal illness, willing to go to whatever lengths are necessary to find a cure for himself

Aside from this, there's all sorts of other small groups at play:
>A group of holy men who realise that the apocalypse is inevitable, but are actively trying to cause the end of the world early on their own terms, in order to make sure it's the Christian apocalypse that "wins"
>A cult attempting to break down the barrier between Earth and the spirit world, letting magic flow freely into the world and making it impossible for the masquerade-conspiracy which the PCs are part of to continue
>The abusive family of one of the PCs, who will stop at nothing to drag her back home and remind her of just how much they love her.

So, a mixed bag. But I feel that by and large, my villains all have understandable motivations.

The BBEG is a Paladin who is seeking to purge the players after they were convinced by the real BBEG to join him in deviant wrong doings. The seeds of evil were planted early on as the Lich used some magic what have you to see how he was destroyed, and then murder/raped the deity who writes our destinies, in turn also making the deity's testicles an additional phylactery. In doing so, destiny now has become written by the individual. Nobody really knows how the lich managed to enter the realm of the gods, but did and did some mcguffins. Because his powers rose so much, he was nearing the moment when he mantled the wisdom of the gods. The players encountered the lich, and were quickly swayed when the lich admitted he could not mantle the gods alone. So he offered his assailants a single chance to aid him in mantling them. For some reason the players said yes, and were given deity status. The mantling occurred just as the lich promised, and they took their places. Only one catch though, they would live out their mortal lives until they became the true gods. So they are committing terrible acts, and the Paladin is attempting to slay them one by one so they will take their role as his gods and end their debauchery. He knows his mission is ironic, but is the only option.

>I don't think that would work, considering the fact that he's destroying all of existence.
How is he going about doing this though? I know smashing atoms to bits and rebuilding from nothingness is en vouge, but consider something classical, like a flood or storm...

The restoration of his Clan's power and wealth, the freedom to practice sorcery and magic without condemnation, and to achieve rulership over the Kingdom as his forebears should have. Oh, and genocide of course. Because those fucking barbarians just over the mountains keep trying to kill all the colonists he sends into the jungles to get wood and minerals that he needs to make life better in the windswept, treeless steppe.

He was the savior of the realm thirty years ago and was believed to be the only one capable of leading the realm in the aftermath of all the gods dieing. Now he believes the only way to protect humanity is to eradicate all sources of magic left in the world.

The rogue actually agrees with him but has more faith in the opinion of the party and our wizard has actually been questioning his own existence.

World Peace through a collective conscience, not realizing that he invented Necromancy, not mind-linking magic.Guy went off the deep end when he realized that he wasn't saving people or making life easier, and that he was rotting and not agreeing with anyone, but controlling them. Dude killed millions trying to make his Human Hive Mind.

He failed about 3,000 years ago and put his conscience into about 40 different artefacts as well as a little of his power. Now the artefacts give people necromancy magic, and cast a continuous, low-key Suggestion spell to try to convince them to seek out the other artefacts. Most of them want [insert cheesy Protoss Archon reference].

Basically Nagash Alexander the Great as a Ravenloft-tier poor bastard who legitimately thought he was the good guy, with a subtle Rotti Largo note thrown in for good measure.

I've got the reverse, mine is the merged consciousnesses of an old conclave of mages. It was buried atop a mountain and forgotten millennias ago, and now it reemerged, hell bent on returning things to "normal".

She wishes to found a nation for Trolls and is prepared to go to any length to do so, including craving one straight out of the neighbouring kingdoms.
Ever since her youth where she escaped a witch hunt for simply being the student of a famous Wizard who was found to dabble in Necromancy, she has found solace and even kinship in the small, scattered communities of Trolls that dot the mountain range and forests.
As she grew she saw how Trolls were near universally scorned and hunted. The sight of even one Troll would spur on hunting parties that would scour the region for several leagues around.

The witch, Haaklem Tsyads, as she's adopted from the Troll tongue, or Troll Mother and the Ghoul Queen, as she's become known among the human lands grew despondent at seeing her new family hunted as readily as her previous one.
Her own hatred of humanity grew till she lashed out violently, leading raids across many small settlements and military outposts till the seed of a plan was planted. She would found a true nation for her adoptive people so they would be free from persecution and the judgements of man.

In enacting her plan, she ended up kidnapping one of the Princesses of the closest kingdom both as a hostage to help stay any armies from attacking but also the Princess is quite learned in the ways of politics and running societies.
Despite being a hostage, the Princess has helped in setting the foundation for this fledgeling country and brought forth the start of a structured government.

Others see her as a horrific necromancer, a debased debaucher who'll steal away wives and daughters to breed them to her Troll children and that the fate of Princess Scheherazade herself fate is to be a prized breeding sow for the mightiest of her Troll champions.

There are several large, behind the scenes struggling against and cooperating with one another to make changes to the world that they deem best for humanity. The actual "BBEG" is just a very powerful but ultimately smalltime mercenary that personally offended the party. It remains to be seen if the PCs can take a step back and figure out the bigger picture. I also don't have any players; I'm just developing all this on the chance that I might get a motivated, dedicated group to put up with me someday.
