I claim the first post for His Eminence, the Emperor of Mankind.

May Imperial justice account in all balance.

Finally got to run my funtimes trencher OW game for the first time.

Party was dead-dropped outside of a severan fortress with the rest of their platoon and told to take it. They cleared the area to the trench, killed everyone inside, breached the wall and cleared the base while preventing the Severan Dominate forces from detonating their munitions dump when they realised the base was lost.

It was not quite as deadly as i was hoping, they played it very smart with smoke grenades and suppressing fire. Also holy fuck the Spring talent makes you sanic the motherfucking hordgeheg. A bunch of them were nearly out of wounds and one guy managed to break the Comissar's rib with a righteous fury roll from his stub automatic.

I also made a PC for myself to use if one of my groupmates ever wants to GM a few, and to use as an NPC even if they don't. Weapon Specialist built like a scout, good perception and agility and kills with a shotgun. Also has Trade (armorer) so that the party can barter with him for weapon modifications if they so choose.

What does your character/group do for relaxation? Prayer? Flagellation? Drugs? Killing?

So I just made my new Sin-Eater Assassin, 6500 xp, and I rolled fairly well. Then I rolled for my daemon weapon's attributes and got Warp Touched (ignores armour) and Hungering (+5 to all critical results).

Throne damn, my sword damage is 1d10+10 (4 from Strength, 4 from Daemon's WP and 2 from Crushing Blow) and ignores armour. Then I get to do that two more times in a round with Lightning Attack.

I'm going to feel like such a piece of shit for using this and I don't want to ruin combat for everybody, but at the same time I really want to RIP AND TEAR through heretics, mutants and daemons.

Alright.
Well, what else does your character have going for them?
You have a bunch of combat things, but what do you do when you aren't fighting?
>>
>>46480222
Smoke lho sticks or drink recaf if he has any, and cracks inappropriate jokes with his squad mates as they all squat together in a muddy trench. Cleans his shotgun and autopistol, and dreams of being sent to fight a war someplace sunny that rarely gets any rain. Modifies the weapons of other guardsmen in exchange for his vices.
>>
I've got an only war game going and I've got to kill a chaos lord. Run a chimera full of explosives into him or bury the explosives and bait the trap with our psyker?

Your prayers are answered, trooper, you're going to Two Sun, a binary-system desert planet that gets about a half dozen liters of rain per year per square klick. Daily temps can reach 45 C, so pack a nice cooling cloak, and mind the wildlife. You're a juicy bag of tasty water to them, so be careful.
>>
>>46481156
Hell, as long as there is no mud he would probably jump for joy. At least until he ran out of water rations. We are also !Not Steel Legion so while the gasmask would help with the dust the trenchcoat would be a little bit stuff

Well, fuck it, reupdate (because GM reads this) from Larl of Jenkin, the sole sane man in a warband full of fools.
Last time, we were planning to lead an assault against the enforcer garrison, and the sororitas (mistakenly) picked a fight with a group of enforcers (in front of position of heavy bolters), which lead to what you would expect.
ANYWAY, some of the enforcers were on our side, which saved our lives, albeit a little beat up, and Larl plotted to use the rest of the potentially loyal enforcers to open up the garrison so we did not have to siege the pla- Oh, look, the sororitas is on the enforcer's comm channel, telling them to rise up before the armed forces coming to support us have arrived. Hey, gunfire! Maybe this wil- oh, it stopped.... Then the enforcer captain starts taunting us over the goddamn laudhailer system in the hab.
Well, comm up the rest of the warband, warn them that the northern gate out of the hab is almost certainly held against us by traito- Oh, look, they are walking out in front of the gate and GETTING SHOT AT BY HEAVY BOLTERS.
>tfw your plans are slowly being deep sixed
I fortunately was able to begin Plan C, which was to blow the goddamn doors up with an autocarriage full of promethium, and had the autocarriage on it's way. I told our scumbag noble to debate with the admech about getting a few barrels of promethium set aside for our use, and she nearly botches it because she has yet to realize the admech don't take kindly to being bullied by anyone, even the Inquisition. She succeeds, tho, and we get the promethium. I send our adept and IG officer over to back up the scumbag noble, meanwhile, the scumbag noble and her people are cutting down the traitor enforcers holding the northern gate, just in time for our autocarriage to arrive.
AND our armed forces arrive to the south. Finally, shit is working in our favo- why are they pointing guns at us?
>cont
>>
>>46481872
Ecthelia (the sororitas) and Larl explain to them they have been seconded to the Inquisition in a punitive action against traitors, and are under our command.
They refuse, pledging their allegiance only to the noble who we are dealing with in this area.
>Larl earmarks these soldiers to be executed later
We send them on their way, and they meet up B Team alongside the noble.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that this fuck here >>46443029 is tied to the front door of the garrison, making my plan to blow it sky high... difficult because I am under orders to bring him home dead or alive, preferably alive (FUCK YOU GM!), on top of getting shot because half the team made a forward assault to take out the heavy bolter in front of the gate. The HB is taken out, and the chained fool eats a bullet, almost literally.
The autocarriage makes it thru the gate, and almost careens off the side of the gantry, screeching to a halt in front of the bar where Larl, Echthelia and the sole remaining loyal enforcer have set up shop. A dreg named Krug comes out, whom we had dealings with prior to this. During this, Larl grouses further about circumstances and idiots, using his grapnel to get on top of the bar, scoping out garrison as Krug proceeds to bring out a GIANT FUCKING MUTANT HOLY SHIT out of the back of the autocarriage. Half the warband lose their shit seeing it, Ecthelia has to be talked down from killing it, Larl groans internally and contemplates his next move.
Apparently, the new plan is to mount the 3 heavy bolters we have on the autocarriage and drive it forward.
>Larl remembers that the loyal enforcer said that rocket launchers, grenade launchers, et al were stored in their garrison
Well, THAT plan is shot, to- wait, why am I the only one that realizes it? Aren't we gonna save the fool at the gate?
.... Horus it.

"Horus it" as a stand in for "fuck it" sounds retarded and is probably some form of heresy
>>
>>46481910
While the warband attempts to regain composure upon witnessing ultragigamutienigga or stop Ecthelia from trying to murder it, Larl slips off the building, jumps in the autocarriage, and drives towards the enforcer garrison. Cue panic, surprise, and anger from the table.
It's a 220 meter run on a gantryway 10m wide.
Let's do this.

Managed to jink 3 krak missiles, spending all my fate points doing soate 1, damn near made it before a krak grenade sent me careening off the side of the gantry to a 1km plunge into the underhive.

Would helping two Eldar complete a mission against Chaos forces trying to sacrifice soul stones, as well as helping one of those Eldar's keep the other's soul stone safe after they die, be a big enough accomplishment to earn the party Peer (Eldar)? Also, how big of an influence boost should that be?
Keep in mind, it was mostly an alliance of convenience. Party is Ordo Hereticus, so the Xenos were the enemy of my enemy.

>>46482627 is right, people talking about their game is good, instead of bitching about Chapter Master, complaining about aptitudes or this pdf not being found when all of them are in the OP.
I am putting a DH2e game together, heavily involving the Faceless trade, looking in to the Beast Pits. Would it be a good idea to pull creatures from DH1e, considering the areas are halfway across the galaxy from each other?
I contemplate featuring xenos actors themselves, such as Deldar or minor empires, but wonder if that is a bad idea, especially if the players decide to fight them and find out they aren't a match at all.
>>46486679
Depends on who the Eldar are.
>>
>>46486679
I would say so. That Eldar would probably be very grateful.

Now, a question on the same track. Would shooting a soul stone with a bolt pistol destroy it? My Acolytes just brought me one and we are a big bunch of Puritans in the Ordo Xenos, so the plan is to shoot it.
>>

>>
>>46486799
how familiar are your players with the xenos from DH1e? if they aren't, you're golden. if they are and aren't autistic about setting, you're fine. 40k rpg lore is pretty much as malleable as you want it to be. a basic solution would also just be renaming them or changing their color; the rpg equivalent of the paint swap.
>>
>>46486830
They're made to hold souls, not act as body armor. I'd rule even a lasgun would be enough.
>>
>>46486679
Depends how much you try and foster that relationship during, and after the mission.

Act like total cunts? No Peer.

Be at least somewhat respectful and show the Eldar that humanity has some nobleness left? Peer.

Influnce?
1-2 points. Like 3 more if you broadcast it.
But then you'll make enemies in Puritan factions for having worked with eldar.

In which, they are fairly nasty.

They're doped up to the gills with combat talents, have WS 52, Armour 5, they deal 1d10 + 9 E which will ignore most all starting armour, and has a Power Field.
They also can make a free test when they charge to make everyone surprised (so they're even easier to stab), and can potentially cause wounds.

Get them some Power Weapons, or don't let them ambush her and they've got a chance, otherwise odds are 1-2 players will die before you take her down, unless you get lucky.

Is it just me or is going Mystic for free psyker a point trap if you want to be useful to your team outside of doing psyker stuff.

Depends on whether you want to go Astropath or not. 600/1000xp can be steep to start off with, and the aptitudes may not sit right.

What did you want to do?
>>
>>46481310
>>46481329
I'm sure we can get a few lemun Russ shells to go with the crate of melta bombs and krak grenades we have.

He's kind of chasing us, our psyker found a weird book he wants but it returns to its owner so he's going to come get it himself.
>>
>>46491826
I was kind of wanting to do a melee oriented psyker, was considering astropath too, but we're not starting at 1000xp, probably somewhere between 1.5-3k. I haven't got an exact number to worth it, which I know makes it hard to plan the character out, but I wanted to look at my options ahead of time so I am not rushing at last minute once I got my actual XP amount.

It seemed like if I wanted to be even half decent at melee, I would have to spend thousands of XP to get it to a decent area from mystic, versus spending 600 to get psyker access. Though I could be completely misinterpreting these things.

It's a daemon weapon anon. Your wp is 28. Just wait until it takes control of your body and starts using those crazy abilities to attack the party.
>>46486679
I'd go Peer (Eldar of this group). They'll probably spread word on their craftworld saying "These humans are a-okay", making it easier when you interact with them in the future. Doing Harlequins a big favor could probably get you Peer (Eldar) because they interact with a lot of different Eldar and would have more of a chance to spread the word that you're reliable.
>>
>>46492174
Thought about Crusader?

There's a lot you could spend your xp on re: psyker talents. Usually willpower, toughness, defence and psyker aptitude related. IIRC Mystic puts you in place to buy them cheaply, but if you aren't going to do that, no reason not to go with another role.
>>
>>46492609
I was actually considering Fanatic more, but I will definitely take a more solid look at crusader now that I understand the aptitudes a little better. And thanks for helping me out.

See, the Fate Point system incentivizes GMs to learn patience and sadism.

Oh, you can just burn a point and survive death, no matter what? Shoot, I guess Mr. Rippy the Khorne Berzerker really isn't that scary then. This care chase isn't too dramatic. Go jump on that grenade, go punch that Ogryn. No matter how badly it goes, you'll survive /somehow/.

But you can't burn a Fate Point to avoid daemonic possession. You can't burn a Fate Point to escape mutation or madness. It won't safe you from seeing your friends turn on you, or your goals subverted, or innocents slaughtered. As long as it doesn't kill you, you can't press the reset button.

You can get a character to a point where a play wants to burn a Fate Point to have the character /die/. That's good grimdark GMing right there.

I'm in an argument with some of my fellow players, and I'm not entirely sure where I stand yet. Anyways, long story short, are boltguns overpowered in DW?

If they are, like *how* overpowered? Legit changing how games are played from here on out are on the line.

Thanks
>>
>>46493668
Pre-errata, they were DISGUSTING. It made functionally no point in buying Storm Bolters aside from the Storm Quality, as they both did 2d10+5 damage with the same S/2/4 RoF and Pen of 5, with the only difference being their clip size.
Heavy Bolters were just as bad with 2d10+10 damage at Pen 6.
Stacking with talents, there became functionally no reason not to take more than their standard bolters.

Now, using the Errata knocked them down considerably. Bolters and Storms no longer fired full-auto and all bolt weapons now had 1d10 damage. Their Pen was also knocked down by 1.
Talents still make them crazy, but they don't feel like the ONLY way to solve every issue.

tl;dr Don't use pre-errata bolters.
>>
>>46493885
Don't forget about pre-errata righteous fury rolling all the damage again.

1. The suggestions provided so far took the core worlds/backgrounds. From the "Enemies Within/Without/Beyond", what other background/homeworld combinations work well?

2. I had one other question that was unanswered: Would a sword-and-pistol build for an assassin be a good build, or is the xp/aptitude investment be untenable compared to sticking to 2hander/dual wield melee?
>>
>>46495646
>From the "Enemies Within/Without/Beyond", what other background/homeworld combinations work well?
They work, but you have to have a clear idea of what you're going to do to answer whether they work well. If it's just poisons and dual wield, then look at which gives the most relevant aptitudes, talents, and bonuses. There's an alternate death world that gives chymist bonuses with death world flora / fauna, for instance.

>Would a sword-and-pistol build for an assassin be a good build
Hopefully someone else can provide the full answer for this.

Had some helpful stuff about playing the character but not much about the use of the powers themselves. One thing I want to avoid is playing like some jedi and just handwaving for mindtricks and shit. I think psykers should be more creepy and logic-breaking and mystical in how they affect things. Such as say, for the suggestion power. You convince the guard a lie is true. Instead of just jedi-hand-waving, I was thinking you might have your party members who are in on the lie are able to pierce the veil to some degree, but don't actually necessarily understand what is going on, and instead they see the psyker standing in front of the guard, but they lose focus of that and also see the psyker in a second place at the same time snaking up behind the guard and whispering into their ear before vanishing back behind them out of sight. The psyker never moved and the guard is unaware of it(unless he notices or something), but the party isn't sure of the exact physical nature of what they just witnessed and have trouble making sense of it. Instead of it just being some random energy bolts and stuff, make the powers visibly impossible but they see it happen anyway. Though a character can be too weirded out or confused thinking about it, so they have the chance to write it off as "It was just a trick, it didn't really happen" And it could easily be the case too, and just leave it vague and open ended for each player to decide for themselves.
>>
>>46496171
Sounds stupid.
Also not really in the Imperium's "codified, practiced, authorised" approach to major Psychic Powers.
>>
>>46496171
I like your idea.

>not much about the use of the powers themselves
True. Any advice they did give on powers would be dated rogue trader era.

I've not considered the powers to need much advice, but if you have questions, I'm sure someone will answer them.
>>
>>46496224
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion on the best way to portray psyker powers, but my opinion is that if you aren't making them seem weird and make people question what they actually saw happen you might as well just be a harry potter wizard instead. It's not that, that sort of thing can't be good on it's own, but goes completely against the atmosphere of 40k to have your individual be less mystical and more whimsical, or video-gamey.
>>
>>46494038
Ah, the good old days, when you could bisect a tyranid warrior with a bolt pistol semi burst...
>>
>>46496611
Added to this, Psykers are individuals that reshape reality to their will by using the immaterium. That's a hell of thing to be doing, and when you do that kind of thing to the fabric of the universe, you're going to see some weird shit one way or another. You can actually look in our own universe to see that kind of effect with black holes, how they distort not only light visually, but time itself. So when you got a person walking around doing this sort of thing on the fly, I don't see it as "I mindtrick him by waving my hand like a jedi" and be much closer to the way the immaterium is described in how Tzeentch is depicted with things being "wrong" and strange. And while the Imperium is not the forces of Chaos, it's all different flavors of the same thing the Warp. And I don't think anything operating on that level should seem normal. With the exception of Sisters and Priest miracles which operate slightly differently.

That's why I would see a lot of it being more similar to how some magic is depicted in things like the Night Watch novels. One example being the invisibility. Mechanically the same thing as the traditional depiction, but with some minor changes. Instead of actually becoming invisible, people just walk by without ever really noticing them there. They just blend in with the background to people's perception. You could extend this to be like dresden novels and say cameras get static around magic. In my opinion it's a fun spin on the traditional mechanic and gives it a unique flavor instead of just the same old thing and makes it a lot more mystical than say a cloak of invisibility in harry potter.
>>
>>46496745
>With the exception of Sisters and Priest miracles which operate slightly differently.
I'd be inclined to lend a biblical flair to those. Angelic, but original flavour.

What can a mandrake do on an imperial ship to cause as much turmoil as possible without actually confronting the acolytes?
Already had him murder an important contact and get a couple of stormtroopers go insane via some artefacts.
>>
>>46496969
Start fucking with important ship functions. Life support, plasma drives, warp drives, etc.

I dunno if a Mandrake is as vulnerable to the Warp as normal Eldar (Dark or otherwise) are, though, so it may or may not fuck with the Gellar Field.
>>
>>46497001

Currently playing assassin voidborn with 2 fate points left (they reset after every session but during major failures we can spend them forever losing them (well, we can get them still, but it requires some major stunts or story actions, its pretty rare. So I am feeling the breeze on death on the neck of my char, I was thinking about two concepts.

- Forge World Techpriest (since no tech priest is present, 2 arbites, ig sniper and me jack of all trades except being pretty gud at meele assassin)

- Sanctioned psyker.

Thoughts?

>>
>>46497595

>>
>>46497621
>Why isnt it a thing?
Because they're rare as hell, usually one in born in a generation for any given planet, and it's an innate part of them which they always have to deal with, even moreso than psychic ability. It's always active even from birth
>>
>>46497621
In order to become a blank, your character would have to be stripped of their connection to the warp. (aka soul)

Technically possible, but saying it's impractical to just happen upon a way to do it is putting it mildly.

>Would a sword-and-pistol build for an assassin be a good build, or is the xp/aptitude investment be untenable compared to sticking to 2hander/dual wield melee?
It has the same issues as TWW melee, in that it has a high buy in, and an even higher optimizing cost for more versatility. It basically is an option to choose.
>>46495824
If you are facing mostly humans, and human weapons, take the toughness bonus.
If you are facing xenos/daemons, take the wounds, as you are less likely to be plinked to death and more likely to take big hammer blows.
>>
>>46498293
Personally I'd a said 6 wounds trumps 10 toughness any day.
>>
>>46498317
I'd say the bonuses from having 50+ toughness in terms of tests, resistances, carry weight, et al make it a worthwhile thing for many issues including combat, while wounds only apply to combat alone.
>>
>>46498345
None of that matters if you dead.
>>
>>46498353
And so what I said before applies.
If you are dealing with humans and human weapons, with middling pen and lower ends of strength, 1d10+4 pen 3 against a total soak of 10+ is damn survivable.
If you are facing eldar or daemons, where something like pen 6+ or 1d10+10 or more can be common, then I'd take the wounds.
Even then, there is more to the game than fighting.
>>
>>46498404
Not from the way this bloke has been talking.

Much like dual wielding with the appropriate traits, you get 3 extra attacks that stack with lightning or swift attack. Full round action, designate one arm as your "main" hand. The main hand makes the 3 extra attacks from lightning attack, or 2 if using swift attack.

You also get significant bonuses on a grapple iirc.
>>

I'm not a fan of the aptitude system from DH2 so I'd probably scrap that to make the system even more classless. Character creation could probably stay largely unchanged and the old careers would become the starting roles.

Skills and talents would keep the middling XP costs from DH2, but I'd probably keep the characteristic advance costs from the base RT careers so there is still some degree of specialisation. I'd also give some opportunities to swap which characteristics if the player wishes to play something not typically intended using the base careers, like a melee focused arch militant.

Could someone explain how Quick Draw works in OW? Sorry for dumb rules questions but the grammar is confusing as shit.

So let's say, hypothetically, that a Ministorum Priest wanted to run around dualwielding a flamer and a chainsword (as far as any of us can tell there's no actual penalty to wielding a flamer in one hand). Would said priest be able to have an Eviscerator on her back and Quick Draw it while dropping the original weapons? It just says you may draw "a weapon" as a free action. Would the reverse work, allowing her to drop her Eviscerator and draw both the flamer and chainsword at once as free actions?

Basic weapons can be held in one hand with a -20 to BS. So as far as we can tell there's no actual reason not to have a flamer in one hand since they don't make attack rolls anyway.

Lacking training in flame weapons gives enemies a bonus to their agility, presumably other penalties are the same

I'm rolling up a Cleric in Dark Heresy 1e (well replacing Banisher with my first rank, but I digress), and I rolled Hive World Middle Hive. I'm having trouble understanding what a Hive World is like. I get that it's high skyscrapers, smog, no corner left on the world that isn't touched by pavement, lots of factories, but what is the life like for a citizen?

What food am I accustomed to? What scares me that other people are used to? What am I used to that would bother other people? How would people talk? Are books scarce? What would an education be like? What do the cathedrals/churches look like? Are mutants frequent? And how much creative freedom with these questions do I have?

It's an oppressive, crowded, noisey, claustrophobic crush of humanity. The air is rank with the scent of man and machine. Luxuries are few and fleeting, suffering is in bountiful abundance.

You would eat little besides corpse starch and slurry glops. You would likely live your entire life without seeing the true sky of your world. You would be far more comfortable in enclosed, artificial spaces than in wide open areas. You would likely be minimally educated, possibly not even literate. Mutation is rampant the further down in the bowels of the hive you go.
>>
>>46510563
If you've ever read about Kowloon Walled City, a hive world is like that, but everywhere and immeasurably worse.

Mid hive and a cleric means he's not that bad off all things considered
>>
>>46511294
A little bit, but even the middle hive is pretty crowded and crappy if I remember right. And since it's 1e DH I would presume his Cleric is from the very bottom of the ladder, so his life wouldn't have been THAT much better than other hivers there.

So far the BBEGs my DH party has defeated:

>A heretek armed with xeno-tech (who relied physical prowess in combat)
>A closet heretical minister in a planetary government who attempted to overthrow the planetary governor by using the inquisition (relied on outsmarting everybody)
>A ranking member of the ecclesiarchy who started teaching heretical beliefs (essentially said the emperor's powers are manifested in multiple powerful gods instead of as just one) and he relied on his army of henchmen to help him out.

I'm GMing the next game and I want to make the ""BBEG"" someone not physically or mentally powerful, nor somebody with a gang to back him up, but somebody who still presents a challenge to the players.
I'm thinking an imperial citizen who accidentally stole an important artifact and is on the run. Any other ideas?

I've always thought it was like that Chinese city in Deus Ex HR

A lone, but elite bounty hunter out to take a 'Dead or Alive' contract on you from your previous foes?

The smart secessionist - a merchant trader or similarly well-travelled character who arrives on a planet with perfectly legitimate reasons, foments rebellion while conducting business, and then leaves before the natives have time to start anything. If they catch wind of anyone snooping around, they leave for easier pickings. If they get into a fight, they run. The PCs scramble to deal with the rebellion on the planet they're on, and may try to connect it to previous or future rebellions. (or not)

Stolen shamelessly from some other thread.

Hive Worlds actually aren't like Coruscant (Captial City-Planet in Star Wars).

They're merely planets where the vast majority of the population are crammed into gigantic Hives, a massive fucking pillar of a city which sprawls out into a gigantic pyramid, with support infrastructure spreading out flat in the distance outside.

So basically imagine your entire life you've lived in one gigantic city, electronic and artificial lighting all you've evern known. However as a middle hiver, your life while not one of constant luxury, was actually pretty damn good, especially as a Priest.

Your food is entirely pre-packaged, you don't like being without technology, you don't really have a concept or worry about personal space, you're probably really good at talking to people, your books were either books or data slates, your education was probably pretty top notch thanks to the Ecclesiarchy, cathedrals can look like anything, and mutants are usually kicked out of the hives or pressed into menial labor.

You have as much freedom as you like in answering those questions, within reason. A world where mutants are entirely accepted and the Hive never struggled to ensure everyone was well fed, and it was well maintained is pretty fucking hard to get in the 41st millenium.

This. There are a FEW like that, most notably Holy Terra itself, but most are as this anon says. The idea of the arcology taken to ludicrous extremes, surrounded by horrifically polluted wastelands.

New Rogue Trader GM:

I want to include Men of Iron as an enemy in my campaign, but Lexicanum cites all of two sources. Are there more that I've missed?
>>
>>46516037
No, primarily because the Men of Iron are supposed to be an ancient, unholy threat which crippled the race of man at it's highest and thankfully are an extinct, or almost exstinct threat in the 41st Millenium.
>>
>>46516037
We ran into the Men of Iron (well, one of them) in our RT game. Things did not go well. Want a link to the writeup thread?

Party is likely about to find a STC, and I need some ideas of what it could be.

I'm leaning towards something that would be great, and really help people out. Only it has to be corrupted.

I'd appreciate it.

Medical tech that causes subtle, although major health problems in those it treats.

Are there any gear guides that cover multiple games? Or perhaps standalone gear flavor archive things (that may or may not reference games/books the gear is used in). Besides just lexicanum of course, looking more for something dedicated to gear.

Well, the PCs first encountered it here: https://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?768460-Rogue-Trader-Astra-Incognita&p=19610522#post19610522

Anyone know what's happening with it being updated though? I play DH2e and am looking for ideas, would be nice if it were updated. Still good to have of course though. Haven't looked into it yet because I have too many tabs open and been focusing on solely DH2e stuff since I'm so newfag, but I'll browse it later before I pass out looking for summaries and at-a-glance stuff.

>>46506950
how does semi-auto spray even work?
>>
>>46517168
I'm kinda picturing a shower head on the pulse setting kek.
>>
>>46517168
That's easy. If the target fails his Agility Test to dodge the Spray attack, he gets hit by the attack once plus one more time for every two degrees of failure after the first.
>>
>>46517331
That sounds pretty OP.double the hits for double the flame tests, in the case of flamers
>>
>>46517445
Wouldn't have to worry about that unless somebody allowed a homebrew flamer model that could fire semi-auto bursts. None in the books can, as far as I'm aware.
>>
>>46517473
fingers crossed, though seeing as a homebrew started this conversation in the first place
>>
>>46517504
Fair, though at least in this case it was a homebrew sensible enough to lack the Flame quality.
>>
>>46517473
Open the DH2e core book and look at the Dire Avenger statblock.
>>
>>46517529
Nasty ability, but Shuriken Catapults don't have the Flame quality, so you wouldn't have to worry about taking multiple "oh shit am I on fire?" checks.

In OW, Talents that you pick up from your starting Regiment setup and Specialty are gained even if your character doesn't meet the requirements for purchasing them with XP, right?

Yes.

I'd assume the Mid Hive might even have a few places where you can glimpse up at the sky. Say, religious sites and the like.
>>
So, it begins.

After finishing up a glorious campaign of mind-rending Eclipse Phase, our merry band of buddies has decided to into DH2E. We have no idea on where we're going, what we're gonna do, or what we're gonna face, our GM is not a kind god, he is a vengeful god that punishes a lack of preperation (but begrudingly honors cleverness), and we have set off to chargen. Our current team composition is:

>Guardsman #1, the techphile, lucky, shooty driver of a Leman Russ
>Guardsman #2, the techphile, durable, incredibly lucky loader of that same Leman Russ
>Guardsman #3, the perceptive, shooty, socially well-versed commander of the twice mentioned Leman Russ
>No Leman Russ
>Sister Hospitaler, complete with surgery kit, holy scriptures, hand flamer and a general interest in purging (with flames)
>A sanctioned, blind, deceiving astropath with a penchant for chopping things up close and personal

On a scale of 1 to ded, how ded are we?
