>What is Kingdom Death?
A boutique miniatures company, famous for characters and monsters set in a nightmare world where humans are the bottom rung on the food chain

>What is Kingdom Death: Monster?
A Kickstarter-funded boardgame where 1-4 players (up to 6 with variant rules) take the role of a settlement of human survivors trying to stay alive in the eternal darkness of the Kingdom Death world. While each survivor has their own name, life, and story, the world is very deadly, and focus should be given to the settlement rather than a single character.
The core game comes with 7 monsters and 34 survivor hard plastic miniatures, which are fully customizable to every gear configuration in the game.

>How does it play?
A KD:M campaign consists of 20-25 "Lantern Years" (up to 40 with expansions), each taking about 1-3 hours to play. Each year is divided to three phases:
1. Settlement Phase - exploit your limited resources to develop the settlement and craft gear
2. Hunt Phase - go out to hunt a monster so your settlement doesn't starve. The many dangers of the KD world await along the path
3. Showdown Phase - the main focus of the game. Battle the monster in a difficult and deadly fight that plays like a cross between Dark Souls and Monster Hunter.

>Where can I get it?
The core game can be bought at shop.kingdomdeath.com for $400. 12 of the 13 expansions funded by the Kickstarter were shipped to backers and will be available again over time. Retail prices for expansions range about $60-$150.

>Any other way to play it?
A TTS mod was made for the game, check the thread for links

>Rulebook / card scans
>Mega.nz link currently down.

>What is Kingdom Death: Heroes / Legends?
The fan-given name for an RPG playing in the KD world. KD:M was originally planned as a prequel to KD:H. Many of the resin models on the KD shop are character classes or antagonists from this game.

So angry with the EU warehouse.
They were supposed to send out emails on shipment, and sent none to anyone. So I send them an email asking for the tracking number. They refer me to KD support. KD support says the same as first point above. So I wait. And now I hear spearhead sales are getting shipped?!
ARGH
>>
>>46455480
They are? Since when? I was actually kinda awaiting my Expansions to lie in front of my door when I came home from work today.
>>
Do the expansions have any armor sets that specifically boost spears, like how Lantern boosts maces and Lion boosts daggers and katars?
>>
>>46455566
Saw a post on the FB group or BGG where a guy said he popped Ulisses Spiele an email and they said KS fulfillment should be over by the end of the [last] week and the spearhead sale is right after.

I did not get one from my Pre Order Core Game and it simply suddenly was there one day.
Seeing how the warehouse is like literally half an hour away from me that does not wonder me that it shipped faster than Poots could send out a confirmation mail.
>>
>>46457719
Email was supposed to have been sent by the EU warehouse, not by Poots. Which makes sense, since you wouldn't expect KD HQ to get informed of every single shipment going out.

I didn't get a confirmation for my wave 2 at all, so I've not lost hope, it's just that it's taking forever and I don't have any info and...
ARGH
>>

Which would be better? A Storm Knight expansion for KD:M or playable Storm Knight in KD:H?
>>
>>46460334
KD:H would have to exist beyond a glimmer in Poots' eye before we could really answer that.

(Lightbulb of inspiration: It Would be interesting to be able to a post-watcher (or post-lantern-festival-ending) survivor from KDM to PC status in a KD:H game. Our settlements, at least in theory, generate Saviors, Survivors, and starting Twilight Knights. Forsakers and White Speakers aren't too huge a stretch given White Secret and See The Truth)
>>
>>46460334
The suneater lore bits imply the storm Knight is head honcho in the sky. He gimped himself by chaining the largest suneater to his floating castle so more people would come say hi and give a try at fighting him.

I kind of wish kd:h would be more of kd:m- like at a certain point on the timeline the settlement just gets wiped out, and the game switches into a new mode. Heroes could still stand alone, but it would also operate like a sequel of sorts.
>>
Apparently Zachary is doomed to page 10.
>>
>>46465762
Poor bastard.
>>
>>46466167
Honestly, I'm not surprised at this. KD:M is kinda niche, and the "Expansions are happening now" hype that started with the kickstarter wave shipments is dying down. We get more views with the pinups, but I figure most of those are the inevitable "is this porn?" questions and triggered SJWs.
>>
>>46466431
The "is this porn?" question always baffles me. Like... Look at it for yourself. Do you find it pornographic? Yes? Then to you it is probably porn. No? Well okay then, I guess you answered your own question.

On a scale of one to the Butcher, how tough is the Tyrant? Just started People of the Stars campaign, made it through LY2. Next week is one more Lion and then him (and then Flower Knight) - want to know how badly this is gonna go, and if there's anything in particular to prep for (I.e. bring Bandages to the Butcher, try to have non-frail weapons)
>>
>>46469048
Just looking at the cards, it looks like maces and heavy weapons will help a lot to keep his damage under control.
>>
>>46469048
He's not really bad. A lot of his wound results can help him out. He has a lot of teleportation mechanics, and his basic attacks knock people down, so survival for encourage is nice. Maybe complete a couple rawhide sets in prep. As >>46469194
says, maces can help as well.
>>
Is anyone else missing the gorm gear diveder card? And is there a knight tactics divider card?

The OCD, it burns.
>>
Man, I made two orders less than 24 hours apart (second because we decided we could pay for more stuff). First order shipped last week. It has now been a week since it shipped, no word at all about the other order. Why is their pipeline so weird?
>>
>>46471318
I thought I was missing the Flower Knight Badge card since the rulebook said "Flower Knight Badge rare gear card" - but it turned out to be in the Flower Knight crafter items area.
It really annoys me.
>>
Does gorm climate get added to the settlement event deck, or is it a special event and once you get rid of it, it's gone for good?
>>
>>46472996
It happens every single year after the first until you get rid of it by beating a lvl 3 Gorm with Song of the Brave. Once you get Hovel, it's not so bad though.

Kind TTS anon, how many expansions have you been able to get done so far?

Also could you share a link to download said expansions?
>>
>>46468075
I'm actually kinda happy I didn't blow the money on the tree. Thank god I got the smaller boxes then(knights and nemesises)
>>
>>46473266
I sort of liked it, but only because I have yet to roll a 1-3 and choose between all our stocked materials or one of our innovations. We got Hovel for free from Approaching Storm, so that helped quite a bit as well. I also like that high rolling can get fresh characters some easy courage or understanding.

On a side note, I am completely blanking on the value of rubedo. There are too many detriments for the high cost of use, with low odds of getting the "best" result, which is highly situational dependent on what your stat modifiers are like. If you have a mix of positive and negative stats, it's likely not worth trying to invert them, since you wind up in an equally hobbled situation.

Am I retarded, or does it just fill a niche not likely to be of much use?

like a lot of top-end stuff in KD:M is expensive and impractical, but awesome within its niche, and Rubedo is no exception. Turning a badly crippled survivor into a murdermachine is great and otherwise impossible, but it is far from worth the cost

So how are people painting their white lion gear? I am new to painting minis, and I am sort of at a loss as to how to make it look good.

Lots of the minis in KDM I don't have a problem with, but the white lion gear I am having trouble coming up with something that isn't just predominantly white all over, which looks bland and not all that great.

The White Lion is, in theme, quite a challenge. I drybrushed the mane of mine with metallic gold, but I've got the blasted thing stuck in "Perpetual WiP" as I figure out how to shade it's blasted pristine white coat. everyone seems so caught up with painting the white lion white. Paint it off white, or slightly yellow, but for gods sake don't use a metallic paint on a model without any metal. avoid using metallic paints even for metal models. learn to do highlighting for metal, and you'll be better than 80% of painters.
>>
>>46482123
Holy shit this!
If I see one more chicken theme Pheonix I'm going to lose sleep. You get this amazing model, pay out the ass and nose for it, and then when you sit down to paint it you decide to make it look like the chicken god. I don't care if you're bad at mechanical painting, that's forgivable. You rolled bad on dex, so what. I can't forgive tasteless trash people who spend a fortune on something and then paint the Hand and the Kingsman in predominantly yellow/blue/red.

Yes, the lion is supposed to be white. Yes in some art the Pheonix has certain colors on it that could lend it to being a chicken. Likely half of you were raised on books about knights and jousting in which an artist decided that knights dressed up like retards were anything more than toffs and buggers.

Have some fucking sense though, seriously. One out of ten "bloody claw" white lion models looks well done. The other nine look like the white lion is trying on drag and fucked up his lipstick and fingernail polish.

I would take a hundred badly painted phoenixes with good color choices over one perfectly painted, exquisitely detailed, impossibly refined KD:M clown man or clown beast.
>>

>avoid using metallic paints even for metal models. learn to do highlighting for metal, and you'll be better than 80% of painters.

I would disagree on that. There is nothing wrong with using TMM instead of NMM, as long as you use the proper techniques to make it look good. The two are quite different, and need different methods, and sadly, many people don't really learn how to properly work with actual metallics.

Full agreement on the not using metallics on something that doesn't have actual metal parts sculpted on it, though. At absolute most, maybe working in a very fine pearlescent medium or one of those pearl dusts you can gently brush on after painting for a slight sheen.

Tfw when you order 1 forsaker pinup and suddenly get two extra at no charge.
>>
>>46494464

What it looks like to me is you turn the Gorm to face its target, in this case the furthest away survivor, then you roll for each adjacent survivor to see if they are knocked down. Then you retch, doing damage to anyone in front of the gorm and moving it back 2. Finally you put the card on top of the AI deck.

I'm pretty new at painting so I know this is terrible, but check out my manhunter.

C&C would be appreciated.
I know i fucked up on the body, I was testing out skin tones. My original colors made him look like a zombie when I was just trying to make him look sickly/unnerving.
>>
>>46498623
The base isnt finalized btw, its just like that until I get around to learning how to base.
>>
>>46498623
Your 'new at painting' beats the heck out of my 'experienced but largely self-derived'. Nice job bringing out the wood textures in specific. Maybe the skin could use some work so he doesn't look quite so burn-victim (little less craggy, little less red), but maybe that's just the model's texture
>>
>>46498792
Thanks man. For the wood I actually did a very light Pale Lichen (pale green) and did a few washes of sepia, I was originally gonna leave it white but decided against that.

I'm having a lot of trouble with skin in general, I tried a green wash at first, to see if he could look diseased but it made him look like a zombie. So then I redid the base and did a flesh wash and that brought out the current thing you see here.
The Manhunters chest is kind of ripped as fuck and odd looking but I think my paint was on too thick at that point.
>>
>>46498842
The best advice I ever got for skin tones was to layer them up rather than washing: start with the dark tone you want in the recesses and shadows and then build up lighter and lighter stages on increasingly narrow raised areas, possibly bringing out some specific 'shadows' (like the navel) with an additional hit of dark later. I haven't tried it with anything like the manhunter yet, but it worked pretty well for the smooth skin of some of the pinups.

The metal needs a brown wash. Actually for gold you start with a brown base colour normally and put layers of brown + gold mix on it. You can do the highlight with a silver + gold mixture then optionally.

All in all great job for an unexperienced painter.
>>
>>46498623
You want to go paler, white and blue if you want him to look sickly.
>>
>>46481609

You are mixing things up here a bit: It's these people who can't deal with other people and their decisions, even if they don't affect them at all.
>>
>>46499089
What exactly does the brown wash change up? Would it not just dull the metal? I haven't mixed metallics with nonmetals because I was afraid it'd just fuck up both. I do have a metal medium if that adds anything? Thank you.

Because it looks extremely flat and untextured, unlike real metal, whereas in reality it reflects and and shows signs of degeneration. Especially on a miniature like this you wanna go for that roughed up, brazen look.

What is a metal medium, a color?
>>
>>46499338
Alright, will do. Is Sepia fine or would brown be better?

It's like a drop you add to paint that makes it metallic. I don't have any metallic reds but with the medium I add some to red and it makes it metal red. Doesn't always bring out the best results but I still kind of like it. Tbh pretty inexperienced and not quite sure where it'd be best applicable.
>>
>>46499410

Sepia should be fine, the results always depend a lot on the exact colours used though, so you are free to experiment beforehand a little.

KD;M Monster Tier list

Why are you not hunting them each time tier -
Dung Beetle Knight
Beast of Sorrow

Farm Tier-
Gorm lvl 1 and lvl 3
White Lion
Flower Knight

I guess you gotta get these a few times tier -
Phoenix
Gorm lvl 2
Spidercles
Sunstalker
Dragon King
Lion King

Why is this even in your campaign tier -
Screaming Antelope
>>
>>46514360
>TFW you farmed Antelope because it yielded a lot more resources on average than lion

With a good luck character and the antelope healing itself a couple times, our settlement dissassembled an antelope 2: between hunt event teeth, crits, and finally the resources from reward we had the whole damn deck because every antelope HL and its brother has critical resource. It's more profit than similarly leveled lions if you have a survivor with good luck Or, say, the Death Mask or play large numbers
>>
>>46514497
Yeah but what are you building with all those antelope resources? Sure you have bone/hide/organs but none of the antelope gear is essential or really useful. Lion is absolutely necessary to get great cat bone and cat eye. If you are geared enough to have profitable antelope hunts then you absolutely can go hunt something else that actually crafts into gear you can use.
>>
>>46514497
Grats on your lucky harvest(s) but ultimately the rewards from them are not as useful since the gear is mostly shite and it's more useful for getting shit for cooking.

It's a harder fight than the lion with more chance for horrible injury/death and mediocre reward. The Acanthus in the showdown is arguably more valuable.

Of the default quarries, Phoenix is a good go-to once you've farmed the lion gear you need (zanbatos, bow, circlet) since besides the phoenix gear being good, aging up your post clan of death survivors is an essential part of having a strong hunters spread. Phoenix hunt events are pretty good, as well.

Or its just a simple way, or complex way if your not a lawyer, to tell you to 'draw this next time you innovate.'

>>46516660
People probably don't want to drop $150 plus shipping on a resin encore model (no limited edition certificate) when they could spend $100 for a very nice plastic version that comes with a bunch of extra campaign stuff to boot. It being an expansion that is out probably also cut deep into the resale buyer's interest in snapping them up.

Had it been put up a month before the expansion details began leaking out, it would have probably flown off the shelf.
>>
>>46516767
Technically not since if you don't innovate that settlement phase the innovation deck gets shuffled at the start of the next one. But then again what kind of pleb group doesn't innovate every chance they get early on?
>>
>>46514360
>Hating on antelope
Dude it's a solid hunt offering better sideways rewards than most hunts. People seem to ignore things based on bias- forgetting that the antelope offers not just invalueble acanthus, but also commands access to the barber surgeon's best items. Is it worth hunting more than once or twice? Meh, not really, but pretending it's somehow worse than the other specialist fights is stupid. Plus if we're talking the expansions in play, you need access to his armor for the ridiculous hybrid sets. He's perhaps one of the best 'non farm' hunts out there, cooking not even considered (since I hear some people don't read it as settlement-wide consumable). If you count cooking, he's easily a hunt that outclasses Spidicules for his slot.
>gorm fanbabby
Now it makes sense. At least you're smart enough to know to hunt the Flower Knight and DBK, but the Gorm is a waste. The third 'farm me' hunt is easily the sunstalker. The sunstalker armor set is the best offensive armor set in the game by a huge margin, assuming you don't have green armor ofc. But hey, keep perpetuating the antelope hate. Just sad your fucking with pleb's opinions.

Pardon me sir, but the best armor is clearly bring an Acanthus Doctor.
>>
>>46515456

Priority is Symposium > Hovel > Family > Clan of Death. Abstain from doing intimacies until you get Clan of Death; being at 7 or less population gives you good results for Armored Strangers, so as long as you aren't losing or getting everyone crippled you'll come out ahead.

Secondary picks, either after or between the above if you don't get a card that's next in the progression, is Inner Lantern and Paint for survival actions. Ammonia is also key but you can get that for free as a White Lion hunt event, so it's worth holding off on picking it. Similarly, you're assured to get Lantern Oven from the Hands of Heat event.

After that, anything that raises survival limit is generally better than the alternatives. Song of the Brave lets you more safely go for Lvl 2+ quarries. Besides those, once you pick up Romantic your ability to select innovations really expands and you should have a better idea of what your settlement needs than what a guide can suggest.
>>
>>46516854
>hating on gorm armor
>hating on motherfucking spidicules

Pretty neat. A red or purple wash might have achieved the look you're going for. You could still definitely do it on his veins (like on his arms) - make them stand out and be that little bit more gross.

>>46499010
My big warning against this is that if part of the model is washed and part isn't, it stands out. Doing washes early (and lightly), then subtle highlights/fixing works well.
>>
>>46514497
Just did this with a Fist and Toother with a Virus Flower, luck charm +1 luck and part of a Chello band, critical hits on 5+, and Cat Eye Circlet means you can get good shit on top and its trap is pretty pointless anyway
>>
Is there a special relevance to heart flute? I imagine it might be a way to easily stock up on certain nemesis reward items (although the rewards don't usually stack up to the challenge of the fight, compared to monsters). It could be a good way to keep fighting Slenderman for dark waters, but beyond that I'm trying to think of situations where I'm itching to fight a nemesis.
>>
>>46516807
Only thing I could think to justify purchase is using the resin one as a level one and the 10% bigger plastic one as a Level 2. Actually, I'm not sure if this was one of the resin to plastic size increases. I have a bunch of the resin monsters and the plastics are bigger. Not sure about the dragon, lion god, and the sunstalker size wise.
>>
>>46516854
So what you're saying is that the antelope is a good one time hunt monster (a specialist fight). However what other specialist fights can you really compare it against? We would need an example of a huntable monster that you are really only motivated to hunt once so we can accurately compare the rewards. The only specialist monster in this case that is comparable is the Lion God, and the necromancer's eye and knowledge worm benefits are both guaranteed and extremely powerful all the way until the end of the game. What does antelope give you? Access to the less good hybrid sets if you also have Lion Knight? Sure ok. Access to the barber surgeon's best items? Alright. Cooking materials? Sure if you don't play the game with rules as written and cooking is actually good.

So an Antelope is worse than Lion God as the other specialist hunt, hence why it is placed on a tier lower than Lion God.

Let's not even get started on what you lose by not farming Gorm for multiple years.
>>
>>46514646

Leather and innovations, mostly. We basically ignored Phoenix in favor of the antelope farm. Took the bird once, marveled over some of the potential rewards but generally saw more value in building Leather, trying to get enough iron for Blacksmith stuff (which doesn't care what you hunt. And also didn't really happen, I think we built one Beacon Shield and that used all our iron and scrap in the endgame. Needed to start the farm way earlier but despite hunting a lot of lion early and innovating constantly we couldn't into ammonia for far, far too long), Innovating, and otherwise taking advantage of effects that just wanted a resource. Had an eye circlet and a zanbato and would hunt the lion if we ever needed to make more
>>
>>46518172
It's pretty much the only reliable way to get the Mask Maker location.
>>
>>46518172

Butcher for Forsaker mask and his cleavers.
The Hand for Hand rewards, which are random, but generally fairly good.
Slenderman for dark water as you said, since getting that gear is going to take a lot of water.
Never Manhunter or Kingsman.
>>
So when should one hunt the level 3 monsters? Unless you want to build one of the items that requires their strange resource, it seems like the risk vs reward on a level 3 is just not worth it. Is there a specific year you should be strong enough, or an indicator like weapon strength you should be looking at?

Basically, you're saying that you skipped the phoenix gear in favor of building more leather equipment.

That's pretty stupid. I mean, the leather set is pretty good but look at pic related. Look at it. It doesn't even need the whole fucking bird set (but benefits from the helm since there's few sources of blue down).
>>
>>46519746
It worked out well enough to kill the Watcher. *shrug* it's not the best option but Antelope has a place as "moar resources" while being WAY easier than Phoenix. (One of the players was also deathly afraid the bird would basically wipe us without notice thanks to its profusion of bleed and instadeath, which was always a vote against hunting the blasted thing when we were powering up nicely from Antelope)
>>
>>46519989
The thing is... Phoenix is a pretty easy fight. Except for a couple reactions it doesn't run away, almost all of its attacks and reactions are easily avoidable with proper application of dash, and they don't do much damage anyway. It certainly doesn't have anything as bad as permanently losing a weapon if you fail an attack, or killing survivors with a lot of insanity at the end of the showdown. It's only really a challenge when you first run into it.

Its hunt events aren't bad either.
>>
>>46520214
Lemme guess you play with murder and plague removed from the settlement event list eyy? Have some broken ass survivors? Ignore everything about what the guy is saying, and ignore the whole instant death thing and the family annihilation reaction?

quit playing stupid

know how I know you're stupid? you are comparing THE HARDEST QUARRY IN THE GAME TO THE SECOND EASIEST. wtf man. less good hybrid sets? have you seen them? dancer and axeman sets are bad? m'kay. no argument the antelope set by itself isn't exactly worth getting, but thinking that even in end game, comparing the antelope to the lion god, shit like the first aid kit and the charms stand safely on their own as solid choices.

you know what else is worse as a specialist hunt than the lion god? a fair bit of shit. you fucking tool, I know you've never even faced him or you'd see how what you're doing comparing the lion god to shit you can hunt on ly3 is hilarious and retarded.
>>
>>46517303
>Spidicules
>Anything good

Spidicules armor looks nice. That's all it has going for it. It's rings are situational and require perfect control of the quarry. It's set is a joke for the cost, and at the end of the day the worst set in the game. It has weapons outclassed by the white lions selection, and unlike Gorm it doesn't have anything unique that you couldn't find somewhere else.

Gorm is a great quarry. People make him out to be better than he is. Offense will always be fist and tooth above defense in this game, so the Gorm set will always play second fiddle. Plus Gorm weather is ass and if you don't cheat, you have it statistically around for 9 LY, assuming you get symposium and innovate every year.

Should I even point out your 'best gear' has two items from the antelope? Green charm might only require organs, but first aid kit takes pelt.

This is a good example of people hating on the antelope though.

>guys, if you beat the lv2 manhunter, get a secret fighting art, and black harvest with the dung beetle you can get something that is better than the antelope set! It's LY 2016 guys, come onnn, don't even bother looking at the easy to get, high early game armor set from the stone circle! The antelope isn't minmax, so in my game we don't even look at it! It's the mathematical best choice for me and my wife's son or bust for our settlement! God forbid I just hunt what I like and have fun.
>>
>>46520766
To be fair, the acanthus doc gear layout is pretty hillarious.

I also personally like the Screaming Fur set, but in my campaign basically everyone ended up a crazy fucker. You come back from your first hunt and you have 3+ insanity. A couple of our survivors couldn't hunt antelopes anymore because they went north of 20. Slam with followup move for the attack is a solid action that you can get in the early-mid game, and unlike the Lion set (which is nice on its own) Antelope won't get you killed, maimed, or temporarily disabled in a number of scenarios by being heavy unless I'm BADLY misremembering my cards. Speed can be a trap (thanks to hitting more traps) but reducing a monster's toughness almost never is.

My man, you're getting mad for no reason. I was pointing out the Acanthus Doc build A) as something of a joke, and B) Because you said Sunstalker was the best armor set. I'm not even comparing it to antelope. Also, you say all those requirements like they're hard to get. Acanthus Doc is a 50% side effect from crafting the best bow in the game. Level 2 manhunter is something you'll fight anyway if you have him in your game, so it's not like THAT'S hard to get either. Black harvest from the dung beetle flustering you? Fine, just flip the card over and pretend I used the normal version.

And for your information, my spear wielder in my solo game wears a full antelope set. Slam has turned out surprisingly useful in a few cases. Stop getting mad on the internet.
>>
>>46520622
I actually haven't seen his resource deck breakdown, so I was mainly going off first impressions. I was hoping the armor was somewhere between rawhide and leather in terms of ease to get, and the turban's effect is interesting.

Also gorm climate isn't as bad as people make it out to be, but it does require a different way of playing. As in, use your resources asap, but you should probably do that early game anyway. You also can't stockpile much anyway before the butcher unless you have a good setup. And if you've been hunting gorms, just sacrifice nigredo.

The second climate result is played around by having a B party, and hovel negates it completely.

>>
>>46524170
Seems like a panic or finishing move. When you fire it off you either badly need an opening NOW or are meaning to finish it off before it can get back up.
>>
Friendly reminder that the only that really matters in a showdown is how much of the monster's damage you can mitigate by avoiding the situations where the monster will hurt you.

The less hit location cards you need to draw to kill the monster, the less reactions it will do. High strength devastating is what you need.

The more you disrupt the monster, the less actions it will do. A weapon specialization that can knock even monsters down is what you need.

The more you can manipulate the two decks, the less bad draws you will get from them. Rawhide helm and cateye circlet activations each turn every turn. The one time you don't it's going to be combo claw on top.

The less likely it is for you to get hit, the less times the monster will hit you. Evasion is great. Stack that shit. You don't need real armor if you got survival and 5+ evasion. You don't even need a weapon since all you gonna do is stand in front of the thing and have it try to hit you while your buddy shoves a calcified bone blade up the monsters penis-lined anus.

Jungle would be just a replacement for lantern horde and encounters having more terrain tiles.

The main issue is that there's a lot that goes into these expansions, such as events and cards.

I'm sure when the TTS mod is more finished, people will start more seriously working on homebrews.

I think it's a sheath, like a dog or a wolf. Ew.
>>

Actually the boat could just be a big terrain tile, like the Faerie Circle but bigger, with special rules that you get slow and eventually drown if you're ever off the boat. Boom, rest of board is water, with a kraken monster that pulls or pushes you off and stuff.

I actually think seafaring would both work well and be really cool and flavorful. Have The Forest Wants What it Wants, except it's a mysterious ferry man you have to negotiate with to use his boat. Then a post-fight diving event like mineral gathering, and hunt events like seasickness or some such thing.

This is what I mean by effectively making a whole new game from the ground up. Once you put together all the things that include the new setting, you've got $100+ worth of material to print, and that's if you cut corners.
>>46526477
Yeah, it would be pretty easy to do in theory... But again, printing all those cards...
>>
>>46528140
There are actually online card printing services that are rather affordable.

So that's how dodging primarily works, We have just been swapping who gets hit and using a dodge survival on the hits that will cause severe wounds.

So basic order of operations is: Have someone with survival be targeted, but not next to the monster. Monster targets them, they then dash away on the AI card arrow to a location where the monster can't reach them. Monster moves as far as possible and then makes a sad face. Rest of part my plays catch up.

>tfw you crafted your second riot mace and it's year 8

Prepare your asshole, bugman.

It's easy to do if you're OK with just making up decks out of AI/hl you already have. Fuck, just call the fairy circle the shell, make a deck around the Sunstalker elements and the Flower Knight elements and you have a tortoise boss with kelpie adds, where the fight revolves around being pushed off the shell.

Rewards would suck, since you'd have tobpen them out, but it would cost you nothing ect ect.

So far all my GRP has done is test different legendaries, but messing with decks from multiple monsters to make a new fight is easier than you might think.
>>
Are there any events or something that can give paint? We've been unlucky with the innovation deck.

Just fought a level 1 Spidicules for the first time. Fun fight. That bug runs all over the god damn place. Worse than the antelope. Wisdom Potion, Cat Eye Circlet, and Leather Headband were a big help though.

As for the battle, well, it seems easy -now-. I walked away with two broken jaws, but nothing worse. But those Spiderlings are going to add up fast as the level of Spidicules increases.

Not bad. Had mine own fight with one earlier in the week. Group focued on monster. Last card in the AI deck was Arachnophobia. Mood card was Brood mother. Group ended up buried under spiderlings as the survivors rolled on the ground crazy as the hell-that-they-lived-in. Someone was finally able to get up, fight through enough adds, and another to hit and wound the monster. Lessons were learned.

I think I'll be fighting her a lot. I like the silk armor, and the easiest way to get it is the Spider. That said, the Gorm is tempting me with its heavy gear, too.

And this year I have the Tyrant, then the year after I have a special showdown with Manhunter. 3 more fights before I can fight either Spidicules or Gorm again.
>>
>>46536021
God I want to like Spidicules, but that model is a nightmare! Why does the best looking armor in the game come from a model with spindly easily broken legs and no base!? Blah.
>>
real talk

is the manhunter expansion worth 60 bucks? it comes with so little...

i know i'll buy the sunstalker when it goes on rotation, but i am conflicted as all hell about the manhunter. his innovation that keeps quarries on the hunt board is so nice, his gear and all his cards are awesome, but bleh. tell me true fatguys- do you regret buying the manhunter??
>>
>>46536507
I love the model, but yeah. He's a fiddly mother. I worry that the simple act of picking it up and setting it down, which causes the legs to bend, will break the paint.
>>
So glad I got Ammonia. I've pulled so much hide and organ resources that I'm feeling distinctly underarmed for the fight with the Tyrant.
>>
>>46536587
He's cool, but how fragile he looks made me decide not to pick up his expansion. Kind of a bummer,.
>>
So i idly follow KD knowing there's no way I can afford it. But i am curious what would be the price tag to buy everything playable if you bought it as one big lump sum?

Riot Mace is the one that forces the monster to use its basic attack right on a 9 or 10 to wound right?
>>
>>46536850
Everything our right now would be at least like $1200.

Then if you count lantern festival and the few other expansions planned to come after its prolly gonna be around 2k to own everything.
>>
>>46537171
On a crit, not on a 9 or 10.
>>
>>46537740
Anybody got the Gorm cards/gear on hand? I'm curious as to the full stats. Does it make you Priority Target, so it's a tank Mace? Or are its status just otherwise really good, and it's a drawback like Early Iron?

Ahh. It does Basic Action in lieu of AI. Plus it's deadly. Neat neat.

I think the figure is a lot of fun to paint, and it comes with guns and hunter hat+heads for your survivors. Gonna try hunting him this weekend though so idk about the fight.

>>46536561
At the moment, I think he's worth it but I have yet to hunt him.
