Because these things don't actually feed the Chaos Gods, they're born of and feed off mortal emotion, in turn they possess themes most closely correlated with these emotions. A war between Necrons and Tyranids would not feed Khorne, for neither will project the rage or feelings into the Warp that war often produces.
