That doesn't work that way. Deathtouch is combat damage only.
>>
>>46424933
No, it isn't.

> Any nonzero amount of combat damage assigned to a creature by a source with deathtouch is considered to be lethal damage
>>
>>46426503
702.2c. A creature with toughness greater than 0 that's been dealt damage by a source with deathtouch since the last time state-based actions were checked is destroyed as a state-based action.

Why do you have to be an asshole?

this rule exists specifically to interact with trample, as trample relies on "lethal damage" being assigned to trample over a creature.

>>46423844
I found out thanks to magic duels that Harbinger of the tides specifically targets a creature an opponent controls. anything else with similar detrimental abilities is pretty cheeky with willbreaker
>>
>>46424933
Fucking retard. Lurk moar and double check before correcting people.
>>
>>46426503
That ruling is there for combat purposes, so that you can assign a single point of damage to each creature your deathtouch creature can hit in combat, without violating normal combat rules. It is not the comprehensive ruling on deathtouch.

Knowledge Pool is easier to pull off than Jace's ultimate (Knowledge Pool exiles the first spell they cast... and then they can cast one of the spells exiled with Knowledge Pool! Except they already cast a spell this turn, so Curse of Exhaustion says they can't). Only one more mana, in colorless, and you don't have to wait 3 turns/have a doubling season out.

In the deck I use it in it's closer to 17 and they fly, but sure.

Format notwithstanding, you're going to get silver bullet graveyard hate long before you get there.

I mentioned Wonder in the post.
And yeah, it'd lose to dedicated graveyard hate.

A pretty well known combo in Pauper
Infinite elves. It's not very strong in the formats where it's legal aside from pauper, but I slap standard players around with it when they try to say pauper's a bad low-power format. It's a really good thing almost all the mana dorks you wanna use are common thanks to elves.
>>
>>46427883
People forget that pauper is gimped Legacy, not gimped modern or standard. That being said, I wouldn't call pauper a particularly high power format, the creatures in it are shit, its number one problem is that answers are more powerful than threats at common.

702.2. Deathtouch

702.2a Deathtouch is a static ability.

702.2b Any nonzero amount of combat damage assigned to a creature by a source with deathtouch is considered to be lethal damage, regardless of that creature’s toughness. See rules 510.1c–d.

702.2c A creature with toughness greater than 0 that’s been dealt damage by a source with deathtouch since the last time state-based actions were checked is destroyed as a state-based action. See rule 704.

702.2d The deathtouch rules function no matter what zone an object with deathtouch deals damage from.

702.2e If an object changes zones before an effect causes it to deal damage, its last known information is used to determine whether it had deathtouch.

702.2f Multiple instances of deathtouch on the same object are redundant.
>>
>>46428130
It's not high power, but it's hardly as low power as people assume, especially people who play standard and started playing when Wizards had stopped printing really good cards at common.

And I'd say the creatures are fine, but mostly in green. Every other color has a few good creatures at common they can spit out. White has the soul sisters and Squad hawk. Black has Grey Merchant. Blue has delver. Red just has a ton of goblins.
>>
>>46428250
It's definitely not as low power as people assume.

Some creatures are good, but compare them to the multitudes of removal and the format can really drag on for very little reason sometimes.
>>
>>46427286
You're retarded. You cast creature and attach gift. If it dies, the creature hits the graveyard it enters the battlefield again, allowing you to search or grab gift from the graveyard, or any other aura again before gift reattaches to the creature at the end step.
>>
>>46428337
Yeah, thats true. The removal really outweighs the threats you can put on the board, but I think it's fun to need to play around that. I totally know what you're saying though. Control in the format is just infuriating. You rarely get a creature in, and when you do, they just remove it next turn.

I have a question related to this. I don't want to use the Sharpshooter because my friends are playing casually, but if I equip Bloodfire Dwarf with Basilisk Collar and use his ability, is it a boardwipe?

Since sacrificing Bloodfire Dwarf is part of the cost, he's in the graveyard before he deals damage to other creatures, which means he isn't actually equipped with the Collar, right?
>>
>>46434192
>is it a boardwipe?
Only if they're non-fliers with Toughness 1.
Sacrificing him detaches the Collar from him, and puts him in the graveyard, so he doesn't have Deathtouch when the damage is applied.
>>
>>46434192
>702.2e If an object changes zones before an effect causes it to deal damage, its last known information is used to determine whether it had deathtouch.
>702.2e If an object changes zones before an effect causes it to deal damage, its last known information is used to determine whether it had deathtouch.

The entire rules of Deathtouch were posted above anon. Read them and the answer will become clear to you. Yes, it's a board wipe because the Dwarf is no longer in the zone he caused the damage from the game looks at his last known information, which was that he was in play and had Deathtouch.
>>
>>46434225
Jesus fuck stop confusing new players. This is wrong. The dwarf's LKI is that he had deathtouch. Everything (without flying) dies.

It's less than 100 dmg in EDH and less than 60 in constructed. Sure, it's still an overkill, but it's not worth any hyperbole.

I like the flavor side of this. Only one thing stopping this genius from creating infinite energy is meeting one weird scarecrow and using its strange, convoluted mechanism as battery to channel his abilities. What would such an elightened mind do with this tremendous power? Make technology level of his plane fly into the sky? reverse-engineer the spark and go beyond, through the multiverse?
Cast mind spring X=61?
