A - It's a CYOA, there are no established mechanics for the rescue. All the pages to the game are in the imgur album linked in resources.
Q - Why aren't/are we we working on; Gen V/Knights/combat mechanics/etc.
A - No. We recognize that spreading out our efforts is what originally killed the project. Accordingly, we're focusing on just one thing at a time and finishing them out.
Q - Hey, can we make a pricness about X fetish?
A - It generally comes down to what people like. Propose the idea and see if others want it.
Q - Is there a map/unified setting?
A - Nope. Though proposals have been made, nothing concrete has been created.

But what if for Gen V the idea isn't that you're going out for your own Waifu's, but instead selecting who your heir will marry? And your rewards are actually special training and skills for your HEIR?
I mean. The idea is that there's a 4 year gap between each Gen.
By gen V you've spent 16 years. You're in your early to mid 30s by that point probably.
It would make sense for you to have an heir to your kingdom by this point. Maybe several heirs.
The choice in this matter is that each Princess you select goes to a different one of your heirs, and you have to divy up your various territories into kingdoms for them once you pass away like Charlemagne did, but each princess gives a GLOBAL bonus to all the kingdoms, as well as training for the heir they marry (and a cultural habit that will clash with other heirs).

About a year ago I submitted some Princesses (Lampad and Redcap), not that that's important. Back then we decided to have a "DLC pack" or "false gen" with all these other Princesses, but then I saw images on here that included them in their appropriate generations. So what is it, guys?

Also, what are the "gimmicks" for Gen V? I remember a while back the chatter was something about conquering their Kingdoms and getting military advantages, but clearly that's not the case here.

Personally, I think it's sad we're denying ideas because we've got "Evil Princess" who is "+All Powerful". That's why I'm asking if we're 100% commited to this roster. I don't consider brainstorming worthwhile. Only results are worth consideration. While yes, people do need to sit down and concept the text, ideas on their own don't result in anything. Only art does. I'd only consider swapping around princesses if someone completely finalized a Gen V profile they wanted in. Otherwise we're running in place and tossing out actual finished content for the HOPE that maybe something will materialize from nothing. It's just not productive.

Well, I will say that some kind anons have gone ahead and drawn the fan ideas. I know I submitted wax and redcap way back as drawings that then got reconceptualized, finalized, and submitted.
But you're correct -- spinning wheels goes nowhere. Somebody should just start drawing these concepts.

I said a complete Gen V profile for a reason. We do have scattered art around we could use if we wanted, but there's no profile, no concept to anything that needs to fill out the chart, no landmark art, nothing. Just making sprites doesn't do what I consider is necessarily to make something validly worth inclusion in the chart when we already have complete and half-complete profiles vying for the same slots. We aren't early in the process anymore for Gen V, when posting just a sprite or a sketch was valid enough to earn consideration.

Personally, I don't really care about some of them, but my biggest issue is the art. I did some of the princesses and made my best attempt to copy the style, but I can't stand some of the linework on jiang shi, unicorn, thief or sorceress. Mushroom I'm pretty sure is being replaced, so that doesn't matter. Even the flumph artwork is a little too different for me.
Octopus, kitsune and phoenix may also have different linework, but I feel they make up for it by having amazing art.
And I hate everything about evil princess, but especially the art.
If I had to remove any, I'd say remove evil and thief. Less than 0 interest in those.

Thank you. Whether or not we end up removing or changing them, I am glad to have gotten someone's opinion on them. Personally, I agree that the linework for those princesses is off. If I can get the .psd's, I can remedy that with general ease. (The problem is that I have to redraw them from scratch if I don't have those.)
An immediate suggestion we have for replacements would be Gemini, Cactus, or even Alien (who did not end up making the cut on False or IV)

I've gotten over being able to take 8 for gen IV, since it's only something that changes the princess and not really an extra item, but you're getting 24 things in total for this gen, which seems ridiculous.
I still think spells should be optional, and they should take up a space somehow.

Any suggestions on what we might be able to add to courtiers to make them fit with gen 5 and make them just as valuable as the princesses? Started drawing Kamataichi Princess. Not using GIMP so the brush is wrong and totally fucked the body and pose -- willing to keep at it, but another kind anon might want to pick up too just because.
Fan princess or whatever, just something I wanted to draw from my big list of princesses fro earlier.
I pictured her as being a little punky, wearing Japanese inspired-gear, maybe a little rogueish, and having those sweet sickle hands. Kamataichi travel in trios as well, so part of her schtick is that she's a ruffian who gets into trouble with her sisters all the time. You get Kamataichi Princess, you end up getting her sisters too. They're inseparable.

Just a bit of advice.
but what defined the dragon princesses even more than their color and element was the concept by which they were shaped, an in turn, shaped the entire gen they were based in.
DPI was greedy, and so dowries, treasures, shaped that gen.
DPII wished to be divine, and sought to ascend to godhood, so she stole the princesses blessed by various gods to drain that divinity from them.
DPIII sought friendship, and so she went about kidnapping each of the princesses to get their friends to be her friends. Companions defined that generation.
If you go about making more generations and more dragons. You need to think about it in those terms. the DP is stealing princesses to get at the boon said princess gives you if you rescue her, and she has reasons for this.
