Infinity is a 28mm scale skirmish game where CB makes joke characters but the community loves them and wants them to be real.

The fat Yuan Yuan bothers me. In the cannon Infinity fluff in my head there are diet pills that means that nobody is ever fat. So a Fat Yuan Yuan doesn't fit in with this, and therefore should never be in the game. Anybody who likes the Fat Yuan Yuan is in violation of the Head Fluff and should be terminated!

>>46396045

Already own all the EVO repeaters. However running to my FLGS to corner the market sounds like a find business strategy!

Aren't Yuan Yuans some sort of outlaw scum even Nomads won't hang with? I can imagine one of them being fat just because he can.

Asking this again since I didn't get a lot of feedback last time.

I'm trying to figure out how to expand my Nomads. I picked up the starter a few other cool things and I'm not sure where to go from here.

I have:
Op: Icestorm
Interventors
Iguana
Intruder w/ HMG & Multisniper

I've been looking at Jaguars and Hellcats but I know I need more specialists. I have been looking at Jaguars for smoke, Tomcats, and the Bandit. Are there better options I should be looking at?

Alright. Links for Haramaki, Magisters and the like. Personally I read that as being able to form regular Core links *as well* as those specialized links with Domarus/Hospitalers/whatever, but I can see how it could be read differently. What's your guys' take on this?
I can't lie, I'd hate to lose my five magister link. They have served me faithfully so far and don't really deserve such. Even bought the MO starter only for the magister (teutons were and still are kinda crap; I also didn't start MO to lug around glorified fusiliers, i.e. order sergeants).
>>
>>46396708
I think they deliberately killed the Magister Link because otherwise that +1 B/+1 PH damage was a bit much. Adding a Hospitalier or Santiago ups the cost.
>>
>>46396708
>teutons were and still are kinda crap
Then why the FUCK didn't they fix them now or when N3 first hit?
Stupid fucking lazy ass spaniards...
>>
>>46396545
Those are all good options.
Jaguars are fantastic for smoke and dogged chain rifles.
Tomcats seem fantastic on paper and others report great success with them, but mine always seem to die the moment they come down. Oh well, they're still my favourites.

Bandit looks great. I plan to get one when my LGS gets one in stock.

Other (not necessarily better) options:
-Morans play a similar role to Bandits of infiltrating specialist, but they typically play a more reactive role by threatening crazy koalas and hacking AROs over the repeater.
-Support pack comes with your clockmaker and your daktari. Decent specialists even if they aren't as exciting as Tomcats.
-Also, the Intruder hacker profile is not bad. You could proxy one of your Intruders for that. Really the only things against it are the cost in points and orders not spent shooting dudes. Still, if you're short on specialists its an option to consider.

I notice you've got mostly Corregidor units, so I'll keep it to that. Also because that's what I'm most familiar with.
>>
>>46396815
Aldo if they're shit they NEED fire teams to even stay relevant at the very fucking least

Those are all great. Might want to put Zeroes, Moran, Zond Remotes for consideration, but nothing wrong with your choices. I'd lean towards the Toms for versatility out of those you mentioned. You already have the big guns covered.
>>
>>46396816
>Tomcats seem fantastic on paper and others report great success with them, but mine always seem to die the moment they come down.
Well, you need to have them come down out of sight. They have 4-4 move with Climbing Plus, they can shorten the distance easily.

There are no "obligatory" miniatures. But these are nice for the ability's and provided a nice options tactics:

How good are the Hellcats though? Jump troops are pretty popular around here and they seem cool

Can someone help me figure out a rule here? I'm someone new getting into the hobby. I'm trying to get a grasp on all the basics before playing. I have watched a Battle Report on youtube, and it helped a lot, but one thing doesn't make sense to me.

https://youtu.be/qxzu7MRK-H8?t=23m21s

With this order, the USAriadna player moves his FO out of cover, and then moves back into cover, and then does a FO action against the Grenzer's shooting.

But FO is a BS skill. From what I can tell, he did a Move-Move-BS Skill... Which doesn't make any sense. Shouldn't it have been a Move-BS skill, with the delay ARO triggering when the Foxtrot was still in sight and using his second action to FO? If it's a Move-Move, he's out of line of sight for that order, so he can't FO anymore. As far I can tell, he does a move out of cover to gain LOS, then moves into cover for some reason, then uncamos and does the FO. That's three actions. These guys seem to know their stuff, so what am I not getting?
>>
Are there weapons charts?
>>
>>46398625
They declare move, and they can shoot in any path of the movement. no need to shoot at the end of the order.
>>
>>46398625
You can choose to perform your second skill partway through your first skill.
So the first skill here was to peek out of cover and back. The second skill is to shoot at a point during the first where he had LoF.
>>
>>46398625
You can shoot along any point of your movement as its all simultaneous
>>
>>46398686
>>46398684
>>46398668

Oh I get it, so the move in and move out was one seamless action. It's hard to tell on the youtube video for someone new to this, but I guess it must be clear to everyone else that that is only 2 inches in and then 2 inches back. Thanks for clearing that up.
>>
Also in those battle reports are a lot of mistakes... you can play, spot the mistake and drink a shoot, you only stay sober for 5 minutes...
>>
>>46398625
I can't watch the video but I'll tell you this. As far as the game is concerned, all actions are roughly simultaneous, that is, you can pick a spot during your or your opponent's movement for when you are shooting. So, for example, if it's your reactive turn and your opponent moved from one building to another, while it may have been out of line of fire in the begining and the end of that movement, you can pick the spot where the model was out in the open to be the point in which you're shooting the model. Likewise, an active player may do the same declaring move+shoot back at that opponent.

In that case, the model just made a rough round about movement of 4" as the first short skill, ARO would've been declared, + FO for the second short skill.
>>
>>46398754
Then I dare you to drink yourself to death them
>>
>>46398116
Thank you for checking. Seems like it's a mistery why they included a special program for CA KHDs then, perhaps for future reference.
>>
>>46398403

>>
>>46395909
How did they get nerfed? I dont think any sectorial got hit as hard as QK
>>
>>46399413
Some people are saying stuff about Teutons not having link teams anymore, Magisters not getting buffs and somesuch.
Honestly though they've actually made Santiago and Montessa playable now and gave Sergeants some nice weapons. And they got a sectoral specific discount Nisse with anti-kebab utility.

Also does anyone else get the feeling that a lot of the updates are meant to quell Kurwaspam? Like Fireteam Duo and Harris everywhere basically giving big units much needed order efficiency and general buffs to medium and heavy units.
>>
>>46399496
DeFersen might be the only one that's a bit sad in HS. Basic device is better than hacking device. I think he has a better place in generic with some other hackers.

Duo gave few HI profiles order conservation. I wouldn't call it Kurwakiller ability. It's nice you're not as harshly penalised for bringing two HI in the list. I think Carlos even said that it's not likely you'll bring 5 HI link to ITS game.

No more linkable Azra'il, only 2 Hafza can join a Core Fireteam, Hafza can't join mercenary Fireteams.

On the plus side; up to one Hafza can now join a Haris link, and Sekban have got a lot better.

I'm considering retiring the Kaplan link now and perhaps running a Sekban Core team with a couple of Hafza, Oda Haris team with a Hafza FO and maybe a Druze Duo.

>>46400066
The Magister text doesn't seem like it forbids a 5 man magister link but rather gives you more options. RIP Teutons though.
>>
>>46398496
Thanks a bunch, filling the holes now.
I'll probably post a combined pasta before I go to sleep.
>>
>>46400050
Both direct and indirect nerfs, actually. Direct as in Azra'il loosing linkable with no replacement, even though people were so sure they'd get Duo; indirect as in everybody and their dog getting Haris links, many of them way better than QK's own.
>>

>>46400224
Shit, I'll never get to run my Azra'Il & Hafza link team idea. Has anybody ever had any success with that anyways?

Aside from that I never linked Azra'Il and never run Hafza so I'm ok with this. I'm actually in the school of though that Sekban are good as is too, how have they improved?

Oda Haris with Hafza FO sounds good too.

>>46400351
No Azra'Il duo is kinda weird. Are Yan Huo getting duo?
>>
>>46400461
As Yan Huo aren't in any Sectorials, I am guessing we won't know for a while. Though Shang Ji got Duo for some reason.
>>
>>46400224

That does suck but, Hafza can now have Rocket Launchers which is pretty boss. Also, I don't KQ can even have any Mercenary fire teams.

Druze and Kaplan aren't listed as merc troops in the Sectoral army list.
>>
This might be a stupid question, but I read that the new standard for play was meant to be shifted towards 400pts. Is there anything to that or just the ususal bullshit?
>>
>>46400511
Haven't heard anything about that, so probably bullshit.
>>
>>46400050

Where does it say that?

In the sectoral list, it lists the things that aren't part of the normal list as "Mercenary" but Druze and Kaplan aren't.
>>
>>46400577
Late 2017/early 2018 is probably a reasonable guess.
>>
>>46400511
>>46400527
I remember reading something similar around when Icestorm was being revealed. Nothing seems to have come of it however.

>>46400577
I wouldn't be surprised if a few new sectorials get released with a fancy starter box and event before the new book similar to the USARF release.
>>
>>46400224
I dont want to drop the KTS link, because they're one of my favorite models in QK. I feel like CB is trying to push the Sekban too hard, because they were pretty decent previously. Now they get Hafza Linkability, +1BS, and Duo while Odalisques and KTS get nothing (in the KTS's case, they loose Hafzas).

Druze on the other hand I get. They need that boost.

>>46400494
Vanilla can gey Duo with Team Pro.
>>
>>46400656
The wording is
>Special Fireteam: Core, up to 2 Hafzas can join any Fireteam: Core, but not those of mercenary troops, of this sectorial army.

Kaplan and Druze are both mercenary units, and are the only mercenary options that are linkable in QK, so the meaning is pretty fucking obvious.

>>

Where are they listed as "Mercenaries" though? Under their unit profiles they are listed as "Veteran Troops" and any of the "Mercenary" troops in the sectoral list are listed as "Nomad Mercenary" or whatever.

I know that in their fluff they are basically security firms but, in the rules, I don't see any reason why they would be considered "Mercenaries" considering they are a part of the normal army list. Fluff does not equal crunch after all. It has to be listed somewhere in the rules if that's an actual rule. Otherwise, they should count as normal troops. It might be listed somewhere else in the book that we don't have.

Duo, or a Haris profile would be kinda nice on them, instead of just canning the link entirely.

Nope. Unless something changed in the new book, Tinbots are entirely pointless. Their only purpose is for CB to sell minis of tiny robots.
>>
>>46403185
Just checked. Tinbots (at least the Deflector ones from the main N3 book) are Comms Equipment and can be affected by various stuff, like E/M ammo.
>>
So I played NCA at the infinity team tornament at adepticon, 2 tables were straight European and my partners 2 ML haramaki link just destroyed everything.. they don't lie about "the game ending in turn 1 aros" because we got through 1 turn, 2 turns, and 2 turns in 3 rounds. Ended up going 2-1 with 17 objective points. Not a bad day but didn't place.

Deflectors themselves are comms equipment though, so Tinbots A and B are completely pointless. There may be a point to the Neurocinetics one if it can be disabled.

-Troopers with G: Remote Presence and an STR Attribute have two distinct levels of Unconsciousness.
-In game terms, when a trooper with G: Remote Presence loses all STR points, it enters the Unconscious state like any other trooper would. However, if the trooper receives damage again and loses one further STR point, it does not enter the Dead state as usual, but instead enters a SECOND LEVEL of the Unconscious state signified by a second Unconscious Marker (UNCONSCIOUS). Only if the user loses further STR points does it fall Dead and is removed from play.
-Troopers with G: Remote Presence need only an Engineer in base to base contact to pass a single WIP Roll in order to recover from either level of Unconsciousness and revert back to STR 1.

Why? They are tough as nails already and immune to Shock. Why do they need an extra level of Unconscious? That makes it even scarier for the enemy since you can botch the first Engineer roll without a care and if you really need to spend the CP to reroll you have the option with it being STR. It's fair that way.

I have a friend that's a diehard Pokémon fan so I've been recommending he try Tohaa to start out in Infinity. He'd like the other armies I'm sure, but Tohaa seemed like they would be fun for him. Will he be dissapointed if he tries to field a bunch of symbiote models?

He also seemed interested in the werewolves from Ariadna, but I play Ariadna so I'm trying to get him to do something else. His brother also plays Aleph with a lot of remotes so we'd like to avoid getting him into that. You guys know any good examples of fun ways to build around some less traditional units?

ISS is pretty good for remote spam, as is NCA. Tohaa are still probably your best bet, though. Surda symbiobeasts are pretty decent, Chaksa of all kinds are extremely useful, and Symbiobombs/mates provide some nice utility. He's going to need to field some actual lettuceheads too, though. The pokemon are meant to support the Tohaa, they're not the main force.

Yeah, but was he referring to the much needed update to models or also new profiles?

Shock army still feels lacking in more flavour wise units, they've added Greeks and generic PanO HI to it. Not really add ons I've been hoping for.

Regular Hacker is probably my favourite HS profile among the changes, LGL and fast pandas. That's really cool in my book.

Tried jamming in every wolf-like unit possible into this Ariadna list. It's for a friend I'm not a furry I swear. Are there any changes I should make?

Well, ASA got Orc troops with Haris, AVA5 Bagh-Mari, partially fixed Regulars (that fucking SWC on FO, tho), and also benefited from the buff to Montesa knights. They're a whole lot better than they were, but they could use some more dudes.

The Greeks need to back the fuck away from everybody else's sectorials. They already took over all of ALEPH, they don't need more attention. Hopefully they're just a temporary bandaid and ASA will get its own flamer auxbots and MSV2 in time.

Werewolves aren't furry unless you want to fuck them. As for the list, get more ARO units. You might want to expand into 2 combat groups and replace a vet kazak with a few cheaper dudes. You don't need 2 50 point HMGs.

Is there an archive or gallery of the new human sphere unit profiles?
>>
So what's the deal with the Onyx Contact dudes?
>>
Can't remember if anyones asked this.
But does the EVO hacking device static +3 to ph for AD troops stack with the Assisted Jump program?
>>
Can we get the MO profiles? At least any with discernible changes. From what I've seen so far it looks like im in for a heaping pile of jealousy at all the stuff yujing is getting including that odd super jumping monster. ( my face when space knights will never compete in cc with space ninjas)

Dunno, Jerry. What about them perplexes you?

>Order sergeants get HRL and paramedic options, making their links better. There's also an auxbot+HRL
>Crusaders get a spitfire profile
>Magisters can't take an EXP CCW anymore, they're 1 point cheaper but also 1 point stupider
>Santiago Knights get nanopulsers, MA1, duo and a paramedic profile. 1 point cheaper
>Montesa Knights got a chain-colt, breaker pistol, assault, duo and a LRL profile, but lost a point of ARM and had their AP CCW replaced with shock. 1 point cheaper
>Sepulchre Knights downgraded to DA CCW and got a couple points more expensive, probably to compensate for the new holo rules
>Teutonics lost courage and cost the same, so they're even more shit than they were before
>Father-Knights got a duo profile, but it's got a BSG
>Hospitallers get a combi doctor
>De Fersen replaced his normal hacking device with an AHD, knights players mourn this loss
>Magisters can link with teutons, hospitallers and santas now
There's a few 1 point changes to CC values, but those aren't that important.

I keep buying shit for my Nomads... Now I need a Tsyklon too?
>>
>>46410190

What's so important about them in the fluff that makes them displace the Shasvastii to the next book?
>>
>>46410190
Wait, you can use Magisters to fill out knight links now? That is cool.
Kind of weird to see a lot of nerfs on knights, but that may be to make them cheaper. Also now looking forward to new sergeant kits.

You forgot to mention Black Friar though:
>MSV2, MULTI Sniper profile and a MULTI Rifle Biometric Visor 1 profile

By the way, what else has BMVs?
>>
Does EVO HD grants +3PH for AD?
>>
>>46410398
Yes. No word if it stacks with Coordinated Jump now.
>>
>>46410315
>By the way, what else has BMVs?
Bao and a new Tohaa cheerleader. Maybe another unit or two that I've forgotten.
>>
>>46410469
so what's the catch with the new tohaa sniper, ssl2, bmv 2, and msv 1 for 19 points? seems a bit too good
>>
>>46410509
BS 11, Arm 0, it will die fast as a sniper.
