Homemade boomstick thread. For those crafty adventurers that dont want to spend their hard earned creds at Heckle my Koch's kraut space magic weapon boutique.
Lets start with this informative magazine.
>>46375044
>you must wait 1 second
>>46375021
What equipment did you need to fabricate this? Did you require access to a machine shop? The action looks too precise to be smithed in a garage. Is the barrel rifled or smoothbore? How did you mic it properly?
>>46375071
One guy on /k/ made it a long time ago. Its single shot .50bmg and I had a gif somewhere of it firing.
Aaand here it is.
Basically you need a bunch of lathes n stuff.
>>46375066
Shotgun pistols.
>>46375145
>made by Muslims
Should have a 10% chance to allahu akbar yourself.
>>46375115
Disappointing. Honestly I'd prefer instructions on how to make a functional pipe musket over something that requires machine parts and a global economy to be "home made".
That said a musket is basically worthless unless you're in a formation...
>>46375166
>making full auto shotguns in the jungle
Just wait till I get to the soviet era gangsters with fully equipped machine shop.
>>46375189
Well, this is far simpler, and again, made by a /k/ubist.
>>46375251
And if that pre-fab grip is not up your alley, heres some ridiculous gangster thing that looks like sofa parts.
>>46375208
Cont.
>>46375322
Enough of the PH, time for some crafty use of priceless antiques in Syria.
>>46375071
You can make a cruder version with just plumbing parts
>>46375356
Bootleg S&W, real one is on top.
>>46375406
Ops, no my Russian sucks. Both are the same fake gun, just left and right sides.
>It's a 'off-topic but the OP mentioned adventurers so now it's totally /tg/!' thread.
>>>/k/
Did you somehow mistake /tg/ for /k/ or something?
>>46375432
Nah, I asked in the firearms thread if somebody wants this and somebody said they wanted it so I made it and its totally legit. IM INNOCENT
>>46375432
>>46375442
What do you have against people wanting to gather resource/inspo images for their games?
>>46375442
Yes, Im old and 20 years of firing rebar rifles is bad for all your senses.
>>46375189
>Disappointing. Honestly I'd prefer instructions on how to make a functional pipe musket over something that requires machine parts and a global economy to be "home made".
Planning on mining your own ore & smelting it?
Make sure to hike to your nearest volcano so that you can find sulfur for your homemade powder. But be careful not to die of exposure in your primitively tanned leathers.
Sci-fi lookin shit.
>>46375432
Yeah, now let's have a totally on topic arms and armour thread!
Thats about 1/3 AK imo.
Captured in Afghanistan by the soviets.
This one looks pretty sophisticated.
Plumbing is a dangerous job.
Now its time for soviet gangsters. The Fantomas gang, terrorising Rostov-on-Don between 1968-1973.
It could also make a good game premise.
>>46375792
Their first heis was an attack on cashiers, killing 3 and wounding 3, taking 40k rubles considering that the average wage in the USSR was 110 rubles a month.
>>46375877
The boss of the gang could finish the 10th grade, but apparently he was a skilled machinist.
So he made himself a machine shop with machines bought or stolen from factories
>>46375944
He also made himself a welder. One of the gangsters was a veteran from the Königsberg Offensive and he became the teams tactician.
>>46375994
They made pistols in .22LR. The ammo was stolen from a shooting club.
>>46376055
Their first automatic firearms.
>>46376096
>First blood
During an attack on a cashier, one of their automatic rifles jams and a guard wounds one of the gangsters.
>>46375021
What if you do not have ammo?
Blunderbusses?
>>46376180
This page explains the difficulties of constructing a full auto firearm in .22LR from scrap and says that they didnt pull it off very well.
>>46376198
Yeah, why not. Or you can make unrifled muskets.
>>46376222
Part 2, starts with explanation of their full auto Mk.2.
>>46376251
>unrifled muskets
Those would be shit in accuracy when it comes to some sort of decent range.
With blundebuss you actually could hit anything in short range without taking much time to aim.
>>46376283
With enough mechanical expertise you can probably make a cookson repeater.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cookson_repeater
>>46376280
>Make new automatics, steal a bunch of money, get shot, go to underground surgeon
>>46376387
The weapons guy was so full of himself, he sent an anonymous letter to the "Komsomolets" newspaper stating thah hes the leader of an infamous gang and a genius weapon designer and he wants to gift the Motherland a revolutionary automatic rifle design.
Also, his stuff is now in a proprietary self-made cartridge.
>>46376340
Nice.
>>46376457
More data on the guns, also a fun story.
>The crew wants to rob a money courier.
>Courier's car stops and courier gets out to get the money
>They kidnap the driver, bind and gag him,put him into the trunk
>Wait for the courier in the car
>Get bored, buy and drink a few bottles of wine
>Courier apparently notices something is amiss and opens fire on them wounding one
>they drive away
>>46376579
Now they started manufacturing grenades.
But the end was near.
After another failed robbery and a wild car chase,a firefight and several weapons jams they gave up.
They also tried a grenade, but the detonator was bad.
>>46376662
Everybody was sentenced to death by firing squad.
The end.
>>46376855
I guess thats how soviet fairy tales end.
Cool looking shit.
Could you still damage a modern tank with homemade anti-tank grenade?
>>46377230
Well...depends on what we call modern.
Hell, insurgents have real AT grenades and they dont use them against tanks because they know it wont do shit. They wreck light armor though.
That was done with an RKG-3 or 3M. It looks funny and it even has a little parachute.
>>46377269
>Well...depends on what we call modern
Abrams tanks, because there are a lot of those.
Rear armor/rear top armor.
>>46377230
Probably but to properly make one you need to know what yer doing.
Also, youd probably get as good of a result as any anti-tank weapon, which can mean ''not much of a one'' and eve then thats assuming comparable knowledge as experts in the field and access to the same quality resources
>>46377303
Nah, not a chance. The RKG has 220mm RHA equivalent armor pen and the Abrams has about 3 times that in most places.
Maybe if its one of those crappy models the Saudis and the Iraqi army is using.
>>46377401
Even engine block is shielded so much?
>>46377409
There are several different Abrams versions with several different upgrade packages, the Mericans like to keep that stuff at least semi-secretive and im not an expert.
I recommend googling around.
>>46376964
It's not a Russian fairytale if everyone lives
>>46376340
>cookson repeater
Looks like something I'd expect an ork to be carrying.
>>46377452
ok, thanks
every time until youpraise Ian
>>46377880
I'm a nogunz and I don't understand
>>46377914
https://www.youtube.com/user/ForgottenWeapons
This guy. His name is Ian. He makes videos about weapons. Praise him. Those are really good videos and probably better than 99% of all gun content on Youtube.
>>46377953I want Ian to be my waifu
>>46378129
I discovered him about three years ago independently of /k/(cause I never visited /k/)with his Lorenzoni flintlock video (such a beautiful work of craftsmanship), and, honestly, he never disappointed me ever since.
He's great at in-depth analysis, in my opinion.
He is great precisely because he focuses on how the gun works and why certain design decisions were made, as opposed to regular gun faggots who are all about waving dicks in a contest of which gun can shoot a tighter group in ideal conditions that literaly never happen outside of the shooting range.
>>46375021
Calm down there Royal Nonesuch.
>>46377880
All hail Ian, defender of the Chauchat, slayer of slavaboos.

Gunbros are ruining the firearms community. They're almost worse than Fudds. Almost.
As usual, the nerds are the best part of the community.
>>46377401
Even the monkey-model Abrams are pretty durable. Surprisingly, the most advanced Abrams packages outside of the US that are US-sponsored are in the Mexican Army.
>>46375021
How would I go about making the bycicle tire shotgun from metro 2033?
Just to say I could do it.should I go ask /diy/ or /k/?
>>46381296I'd honestly go to someplace outside of 4chan, like an amateur gunsmith's forum, most people on /k/ don't actually have gunsmithing knowledge or experience, and I din't think firearm-related threads are allowed on /diy/
