Hello, friend.
I'm looking for anything that isn't a mainstream hero or design. Fan designs and alternate costumes are good, too.

>>46372880
Yes, but only if they are extraordinary and amazing guns.
Batman is a superhero because nothing he does could be replicated by a real life human. Punisher is pushing it a bit whether or not he's a superhero, but he's been know to edge into pretty ridiculous territory.

The wielder of the guns can be extraordinary too.

That's not fair though. That's not guns, that's being a motherfucking cowboy which IS an awesome superpower.
And one thing you had to hand to Statesman in City of Heroes: the artists manage to NAIL "Typical American Superhero" imagery. Admittedly, that was mostly just "combined Captain America and Superman" but it works.

>Punisher is pushing it a bit whether or not he's a superhero, but he's been know to edge into pretty ridiculous territory
The beauty of the punisher though is that there is nothing "super" about him. In every way, shape, and form he is human. Who he cares about, the justice he wants to uphold, his methods, and above all his struggles. While the super-men fight their wars in heaven detached in so many ways from the little people, punisher is down here in hell with us trying to make the world a better place.

>>46377841
Y'know, something about Wonderwoman being a living marble statue just makes a lot of sense.
I'm also fond of MM not just being a green guy.
Superman just looks wrong though. Like, I get that it's supposed to be more of a working class hero look but it just seems like a guy sewed an S into his shirt. Doesn't really communicate the godlike/messianic nature of the character.

Supermans always had a weird relationship with higher dimensions. His super vision has to work through dimensional shit to avoid giving people cancer
Maybe read morrisons action comics run for more
I've got a few to add.
What is the obsession with superheroes and spandex costumes? They've never looked good, and the only characters who don't look absolutely retarded in them is Spider-Man types. And that's more because half his roster is comprised of alien symbiotes reinforcing your body into a tank. Even with guys like the Black Knight, instead of wearing actual maille, he wears a stupid skintight scale-something suit like Captain America.
>>46378446
what is your obsession with MUH PRACTICAL ARMOR that you need to come into a thread about superhero character art and shitpost. shouldn't you be complaining about pauldrons and boobplates six threads down?
>>46378446
what is your opinion for 10 internet bucks.
>>46378446
because comics are meant to be a dynamic medium, and showing musculature is a natural way for an artist to convey action. Yes, sometime the muscles are unrealistic, but it is what it is. The exceptions to the rule depend on the artist.
I always liked this pic, looks like a steampunk master of disguise, perhaps villain.
I'd be interested in some super-villains as well.
Also, does anyone have any good generators for rolling superpowers and/or origins?

I want to play a superhero whose power is infinite stamina.

>>46380793
What's wrong with Diaz's designs? Some of them are shit, but some of them are also pretty good.
>>46380821
Excessive buttons and doodads (Cyborg, Livewire, Robin), excessive simplicity on some designs (Robin, Green Lantern, Batman), ripping off other properties (Metallo is Big O, Grodd is that one ape villain from Dial M for Monkey)
>>46371277
>>46378508
It's not shitposting. Heroes and villains are perfectly capable of having reasonable protection or outfits- see Iron Man, some iterations of Batman, some versions of Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, etc. But then you've also got those weirdos who look like people attending a gay pride parade and got lost.
>>46380821

100% agree. Spandex and cape designs steered me away from superhero comics for a long fucking time. If you're going to go protectionless, might as well have stuff that actually looks cool, yeah?
>>46382683
Same here. And it's not like armor has to be bulky and retarded. Plate is very form fitting. A superhero in adamantium plate from Marvel would still cut a slim, lithe figure and not look like a god damn space marine. Plus there's tons of options for armor. Carbon Nanotube Muscle Suits like the nanosuit from Crysis. Organic living armor that restructures the body of the wearer (like how the marvel symbiote can turn you into a liquid). Adamantium scales. Or hell for guys like Superman, simply shit to make them look cooler because they don't need armor anyway.
There are a bunch from the old M&M books. Hang on a second.

The fact this guy is called Czar but is a caricature of a Soviet-era Russia really rubs me the wrong way.
>>46383295
His backstory is that he was basically Soviet Superman. A nuclear reactor sabotaged by CAPITALIST DOGS was about to go critical, and he sacrificed himself to save the surrounding countryside by entering the reactor chamber to try and bury it.
Long story short, he got screwed by bureaucrat types who figured "Cool, living nuclear sponge. Bury it." And so they did. Poor guy was trapped for decades under a mountain of leadlined concrete until he had absorbed enough of the reactor's ambient nuclear energy to evolve. He gained cosmic powers and awareness, busted out of his prison, and went Dr. Doom on all of Russia.

Yep. Specifically from Crooks!, the 2nd Edition.
It's a really underrated game, M&M.
I would honestly wear a bodysuit and utility belt every day if I could. I won't be fit enough to pull it off when I'm old, but it seems so easy and practical and cool to just integrate shoes and pants and shirts all into one garment. Plus you don't have to do the Phone-Keys-Wallet check if it was all one item. Is this weird?

Probably a bit late, but here's the super hero art I used when I played M&M. Gravity-based energy manipulator who masqueraded as a tech hero. I can't remember which version of HeroMachine I used, but it's a quick and cheap way to make super hero portrait art.

Is it though? How do you think we became the best predators ever? We never stopped chasing. We literally chased our prey until they didn't have the energy to keep running, and then we killed them, took them home, and ate them. Also, never having to sleep leaves a bunch more time to train or learn things.
