How can I mass produce tech? Specifically power armor advanced weapons, a personal VI for each set of armor, and various other similarly advanced tools.

I already made the stuff, just need a way to produce enough for a couple of thousand people in a few days.

Industrialcraft from Minecraft and Manufacturing Line from Valkyria Chronicles specialise in mass production.

Supreme Commander's T3 Energy & Mass is an even more advanced form of mass production-especially if you go Aeon-to the point where allegedly in-game build speed matches ACTUAL production rates(!).

If you're incorporating alchemy/enchantments into your work the Mixing Cauldron from Atelier Arland can be buffed into a form of mass production applied to alchemy.

Finally, Sohon from Posleen Wars enables exotic feats of matter construction as well as psychically achieved nanomachine production so-there's that. The new Polity jump also seems to have some nanoconstruction methods too.

A question about "The Polity" jump previously posted. Thread died before I could respond.

>Prototyper 600cp, Discount Drop In
>The technology of the Jain, Csorians and Atheter are still beyond you, however.
Hey is this merely just a limitation of the perk assuming you have no prior perks? Also what's so special about these particular technologies anyway?

Is there any place I can go for a good summary/break down of the tech and setting of this place?

Also how dangerous/powerful is dragon. I'm not looking for a fight just want to gauge how bad it would screw me over if I chose the Dracoman background but chose to give him the finger and fuck off. I'm a strong independent dragon myself and all that.

I think it would only tell you how to cook them for maximum flavor, or possibly, if you wanked it a little bit, effectiveness.
So maybe your ingredients would act as the very best ingredients they could be, but it doesn't actually do jack shit for knowing how to put them together to achieve effects that don't boil down to "how do I make this boiled wart taste good".

Star trek replicator. May need some reverse engineering to scale it up.
>>
>>46349057
You're right, I should clarify a lot of that stuff.

A Runcible Gate is an interstellar teleporter that places things into U-Space, which is sort of like the 'usual' hyperspace. They are widely used for passengers and commerce, instantly popping things from gate to gate across the Polity.
In U-Space, it's true to say "all things that are put into U-space exist at all points in time". So it's technically possible to draw something out of U-Space before it was inserted, with terribad energy budget/entropy consequences.
Somehow, starships use this to travel and communicate FTL, but that's not really explained in detail.

I'll admit the later veteran perks aren't great but I'm drawing a bit of a blank on something more imaginative than "shoot stuff better". Will likely re-work. Crab Salad is meant to show how specialised against the Prador veterans became during the war, boosting the other perks.

Little Doctor is indeed biotech nanites. Reverse-engineered from Jain nodes, in fact.

Jain Node does require raw materials to make things, and subvert in this case means "it will turn you into a war machine against your own species to spread the technology" rather than "assuming direct control".

Horace Blegg is, for want of a better description, a human sock puppet that orders the main character around and frankly acts like a bit of a prat.
>>
So I was thinking, Dresden Magic's Hex effects should be hyper effective against Clarketech, right? Would a planetary magical pulse shut down Apokolips for a while?
>>
>>46349319
>allegedly in-game build speed matches ACTUAL production rates(!).

It's stated outright in the manual and what little fluff there is aside from that.

In-game speed = actual speed.

Same goes for the speed and size of units, as the battlemap is a visualization for the commander, but that can get a bit wonky if you apply it to certain things.
>>
>>46349550

Eh. Divine superscience probably trumps "psychosomatic magical incontinence".
>>
>>46349570
This. The whole hex thing is a very, very minor facet of DF magic people fixate on for some reason; it's on the level of making hospital equipment short out and studios lights flicker, not shut down entire neighbourhoods let alone absurd things like Boom Tubes.
>>
>>46349361
Prototyper is intended to make you a creative master of all the different Polity technologies and combine them in newfangled ways. It includes Prador tech because that's pretty much the same (or worse) stuff.
Jain/Csorian/Atheter technology is specifically over and above that of the Polity, so that's why it's not included in the perk's effects, though you can use them once the jump ends.

Sadly I'm unaware of a wiki or anything for this setting, so I'll try to include a bunch of notes to help on the tech side of things.

Dragon is very powerful (it threatened to turn all Runcibles in the Polity into singularities, and they're not quite sure if it was bluffing), but if you're a Dracoman giving it the finger, it'd probably let you be, assuming it could use you to gather data or something.

>it would probably let you be
I hope I don't garner its attention too badly as intend to use my insane tech skills to experiment with a mini-transgate system that piggy backs off of existing portal systems.

And why would you include a Dracoman background rather than it being a race option? Is there anything that couldn't be covered by it merely being a drop-in race option?
>>
Well by the end of the series, Dracomen are establishing themselves as a separate race and culture, which is explored a bit more in The Technician (ie: not one of the core novels). But you're right, it's probably a bit tenuous to give them their own perk line considering I didn't make one for Golems or War Drones.

Does anyone know of a way to impose morality on someone? I am looking for a way to give flat out amoral creatures something resembling common decency. I don't need them to reform over night but at the very least I want them to feel guilt if they are flat out torturing someone.

I'd say devil fruit tend to be more specific than that, but a Cloud Logia wouldn't be that out of place. You might want to instead seek out the sky island of Weatheria, where the people can manipulate weather using something called a Weather Ball. Nami ends up weaponizing the things.
>>
>>46350958
Anon, imagine this for a moment.

Let's say you gave a Grimm a conscience. An older one, one with a lot of kills under its belt. And let's say this new self-awareness considers itself "good."

Now, what do you think it's going to try to do the moment it checks its own memories against its new outlook?

It goes full an hero, and then you're right back where you started, with a dead Grimm.

A question about Generic Dungeon Crawl. The Chaos magic Mutation says that you cannot turn it off, does that mean you can’t at all, even with toggle from Young Justice, or the locket from Girl Genius, or is it that you just can’t turn it off by default?
>>
>>46351013
That is a possibility yes. But there are creatures that deserve a touch of guilt, beings like the true fae or the rakasha. Even I could not beat them it would be comforting to know I could try to reform them. Even if I do not succeed.

Take my advice, anon - to grant the gift of remorse to their kind would be to doom them.

To know one's own Evil is to know that one can never truly be forgiven. That one can never truly be clean. That despite everything, the ghosts of those who suffered at your hand will never leave you.

Let them have their ignorance - it is a mercy to allow them to sleep at night.
>>
>>46351142
TIL a whole new way to destroy something.
>>
>>46351142
>Let them have their ignorance - it is a mercy to allow them to sleep at night.

Well, it's not really a case of letting them sleep.

Amoral sociopathic monsters that eat the suffering with glee are either for infecting with a conscience, imprisonment/depowering, metaphysical alteration or killing. Indirectly, you can remove everyone from within their sphere of abuse and deprive them of targets, leaving them to their own devices.

Especially when they're "unspeakably alien and beautiful" things, from settings that jerk off to how they raise crystal bladed flowers watered with childhood dreams and compose symphonies on pain engines while grass grows strangely through the brains of mad widows. Letting such things continue to exist as they are is rarely defensible.

Plus, it's not like you need to be lazy about it and just fill them with your choice of moral guilt. If you're at the point of messing their heads around you can always magnify the desire to atone, or make other tweaks.

DS Anon here, this is late but: Actually tampering with a demon's "data" is what creates fusion accidents. While the the first idea might work, as you're simply improving their stats, the second idea would have to be handled with extreme caution, given that most attempts to accomplish that(see Jack's squad in SJ) just create abominations. For the third one? I'd say that Correspondence would improve the server's efficiency, and Song Magic would improve it's defenses. That's just my opinion. I'm glad you're interested enough to ask so many questions!
>>
>>46350418
Yes, Body Mod is full of questionable design choices. We all know. Just house rule it - color is 50 per, Charmer gives you Metavore or Evercleansed, whatever you want.
>>
>>46351502
Oh, hey. I've got some questions too. Still not really getting the criteria for recruiting stuff into the court of Bel?

I can recruit stuff from other worlds that're close enough to DS 'demons', right? Which would really be... something like spirits? Or something like that?

Does the Balrog in LoTR count?
The things in Lovecraft?
Outsiders in D&D settings?
Trigon in Teen Titans?
Gods in various settings, like Percy Jackson or God of War for example?
Harry Potter dementors?
The demons and angels from DMC and Bayonetta?
WoW demons?
The fae from Dresden Files?
Elder Scrolls daedra?
>>
>>46351645
Happy to answer your questions, Anon.
1. Yes, the Balrog qualifies as a demon
2. Actually, yes: Nyarlathotep is a demon you can recruit, both the DS version and the Persona version if you take the "...The Lord let loose his wrath." drawback, Neutal route.
3. If you were strong enough to kill or enslave an Outsider, then yes. They're close enough.
4. Trigon would be difficult to defeat and bind, but if you DO kill/enslave him, you could. You'd have to kill his minions and children on your own if you want them too, though.
5. The Percy Jackson gods are a bit iffy, due to the fact that they can be split apart, which no SMT demon can be. So maybe. God of War, on the other hand, is a yes, due to the Evils inside them.
6. Dementors have many counterparts within the ranks of SMT's demons, so yes.
7. I'm going to go with yes, considering Nocturne counted Dante as a demon.
8. Yes
9. This is easy, as most of the fae are already IN the SMT ranks.
10. Daedra can be soul trapped, so they can be binded. Daedric Princes are more iffy, but if you were on that level, I'd say you could do it. I mean, if you can bind Nyarlathotep, I'd say you could bind them
>>
>>46351807
>I mean, if you can bind Nyarlathotep, I'd say you could bind them
I forget how powerful Nyarlathotep is supposed to be, because I'm not overly knowledgeable on Lovecraft stuff, but the true forms of the Princes are technically an entire universe unto themselves. They just can only manifest a tiny fraction of themselves in Mundus.
>>
>>46351807
Awesome, thank you. That's... a lot more inclusive than I'd expected.

How involved is the enslaving part of the kill/enslave bit?
>>
>>46351807
Can a demon choose to willingly join the court or do we have to kill them?
>>
>>46351924
Depending on the version, Nyarlathotep ranges from planet to universe busting. Persona!Nyarlathotep destroyed the Persona universe so hard that Phielemon had to reset time, he couldn't just fix it. That, and he's the spirit of the Outer Gods, which includes, ahem: You-Shoggoth, who IS space and time, Azathoth, the Almighty Idiot who dreamed up the multiverse, and many more. That aside, I was unaware the Princes were universe sized, not that familiar with the source, just looked it up. While they may be weaker, I think that qualifies them for the Aspect rule, which means that much like Lucifer or the Great Will, you'd only get an aspect of them.
>>46351932
If you could force them to obey you. Ever play Soul Nomad's Demon path? Imagine it like that, when Gig enslaves a character after forcing them to obey him and the MC.
>>46351953
A demon CAN choose to join, recruiting is also an option. I simply stated kill/enslave because that's what happens most of the time in SMT.
>>
>>46352067
Philemon* Don't know where that first e came from
>>
>>46351932
It's pretty damn inclusive, yeah. I mean, Arthur Pendragon and Jeanne D'Arc count, in addition to the urban legend of Plasma, Jack the Ripper and, kind of, literary characters (Although to be fair, Nadja IS a fragile example). Granted, Jack has a bit more of a justification, being a part of Jack Brothers.

Berserker fell to his knees, roaring, though Ii couldn't tell whether it was in pain or anger. Already though, his side was regenerating the chunk of flesh it had lost. With one, hand, he reached behind him and ripped my spear out.

Readying my sword, I dashed forward. My sword met his rock axe in a clash that set my reinforced bones rattling. Before he could move to block, my sword sliced forward, lodging itself a little above the hip.

He chopped downwards, and I was forced to leave my sword behind and dodge. I looked around to try and find Archer, and saw him a at the opposite side of the green, bow and arrow in hand, ready to fire.

I recognized the bow and the "arrow". I shot into the air, and flew away as fast as I could.

Thanks for the answers! Actually-the Incubator/Symphonia tech was the biggest question, perhaps it merits some explanation. Within the SMT/Personaverse many of the SMT beings are outright spawned from human belief, and even powerful primordial beings can becomce stronger from people believing in them/their philosophies. It's probably not enough just to tap into one or the either-but if you had a means of tapping into a source of energy that's essentially an aggregate of soul energy and powerful emotion, could you siphon that off to buff your demons with?

For that matter, if you're in a region where there's a spirit world tied to mortal belief/emotion which is NOT all effed up like the Warp e.g. the Fade in Dragon Age, the Life Stream in FF7, if you have a means of tapping into and siphoning spiritual energy from there and transmitting it to your COMP could you use those realms as a fuel source to buff your demons with?
>>
>>46352851
To be honest, DDS has been...frustrating, because there's not a whole lot for me to work with in part 1. Hopefully part 2 goes better. Ah yes, the flickering. Trust me, that's going to be a fantastic plot twist.
>>46352869
Hmm, I'd say yes for both, actually. Demons ARE powered by similar kinds of systems, in fact this is clearly seen in Nocturne with the Demon Sponsors. So definitely, Symphonia/Incubator tech would work. As for the Lifestream and other such power sources, again we've seen this in the Dragon Stream/Ley lines, so I would personally say yes. The only issue you'd have with either of those is making sure it can be safely channeled, and making sure it doesn't drive your demons berserk, ESPECIALLY if you're operating under mainline SMT rules, which includes the full moon. That would be bad, VERY bad.
>>
If I'm being the Servant in Fate/Extra and I buy an EX in Divinity, can I say I'm actually Odin? Or is that not how summoning a divine spirit works? I really don't know much about it.
>>
>>46353043
No, you aren't Odin, though you can say you are, which would be lying. You're you, but as a Divine Spirit. If you want to get Type-Moon!Odin as a companion, you have to summon him in Extra instead of getting EX Divinity yourself.

So I have several powerful weapons I use a lot. Most my RWBY variable weapon, a Devil Arm, a Bayonetta Weapon, a Noble Phantasm, and a version of the MCU Mjolnir. Ah. Well, I mostly wanted to have an excuse for being a Lancer with a high mana rank and HSDW without it breaking the theme of the build and feeling really cheesy.
>>
>>46353109
Well, Aion has a thing that you can use to fuse things of the same type, like sword+sword, spear+spear, gun+gun, etc. If you get a weapon that can morph by itself, I think you can merge THAT with all your weapons, making it a single weapon eventually.

What's your build theme? There's plenty of reasons why a Lancer could also be a Greek wizard with lots of mana (also Runes is another old magic system while HSDW is explicitly Greek so-no offence, but you were kinda off your mark to start with)
>>
Question: Would Evangelion's Fanon Country/Favorites list allow me to choose other continuities of the show? Like, I don't mean Rebuild, but would it allow me to, for example, pick the manga continuity? I ask this because I recall one version had a Rei who wielded the Lance of Longinus as weapon, not an Eva weapon, but HER weapon, and the more lance using companions I get, the better. Not the previous anon, by the way.
>>
>>46353277
That sounds neat. I kind of wanted to stick to either a Norse or Celtic theme, but eh.

>>46353389
Well I already had Runes from the Fate jump and HSDW seems immensely better than Runes. I didn't know it was only a Greek thing, though.

Prador War Veteran - Case this sounds amusing when taken with everything else.
Prador (+200cp) - I want to be a war crab.

Life-Coven Education 100cp - Yesterday I couldn't even spell biotechnician, now I are one.
[Retired] Free - Never unaware!
UCAP 150cp - Come, lets wrestle!
Avalonian 200cp - I love being a living nightmare to people. Now I get to play hide-n-seek at the same time!
Crab Salad 300cp - Honestly, if most of my species wants to eat me, I may as well get the upper hand in eat THEM!
Let's be Civilized 100cp - If I'm going to be a flesh-eating, war crab then I'm going to need to be able to talk my way out of a lot of stuff.

The Weapons Directory, by E.B.S. Heinlein, Free Veteran -- Emphasis on Free
Thin-Gun, Free Veteran -- More FREE stuff!
Quince's Guide, Compiled By Humans 50cp -- Cause I had 50cp to spare.
Technical Specs: Chameleoware 400cp -- I like being sneaky.
Technical Specs: Prador Metal Hull 300cp -- This is just delicious in its own regards. I want to apply this to so much.

The Old Crew 200cp -- I want to bring my friends to play! Probably all going to be Crabs. Would that mean that they get another +200 CP each? For 1600 CP to spend on themselves?

Trouble Fitting In +0cp (Required) -- Pffft, this won't be hard. I already don't fit in most places.
Delphic Pronouncements +100cp -- Ha, yes. Being a war crab wasn't hard enough. Now things get sillier.
Dragon's Meddling +200 cp -- Oh, this will be interesting. If only cause I have another perk that lets me send messages to people once a month no matter where they are.
Avalon Outlink Station +300cp -- I have no clue what the series is about, or much of the setting in general, this at least gives me an interesting purpose and set up. Now to figure out how to ally with the humans long enough to fuck off into space after eating a lot of stuff and stealing anything not nailed down. I needs funds to support my "Family".
>>
>>46353470
The spin-off you're talking about is so far from normal Evangelion that I'd say it wouldn't work. That's more Persona with an Evangelion aesthetic than actual Evangelion. But if you really want a companion who can wield the Lance, the version the jump offers you can shrink down to a human-sized weapon so you could just go with that.
>>
>>46353521
So up until this point, I've got a bunch of sneaky perks, eating perks and a bunch of...well random perks I grab cause they sounded amusing.

I seriously have no idea what I'd want to do this entire Jump except maybe go around and eat exotic stuff. Maybe go freelance? Possibly start up my own cooking show as a war crab gourmet?
>>
>>46353566
That works too, and yeah, I didn't think it would work, it's just that it would have helped a lot with my plans. By the way, aside from the perk to make Magatamas the SMT jump will offer, are there any perks that can allow you to give your companions copies of your powers? I have a plan involving that, powerful lances/lancers, and Sting...
>>
>>46353646
You should go to Spatterjay. Plenty of good stuff to eat there, and the Hooper Virus is a must for any biology-focused jumper. Just be careful not to go Skinner. But so long as you don't do that, you can have all sorts of fun adventures on the high seas.
>>
>>46353694
I'd suggest going with Ensoul from Cardcaptor Sakura for mystical abilities and Amazo Backup Memory from Youhng Justice for science-based ones. Those let you make items with your powers. Combine them with cybernetics perks (you might need magitech ones for the Ensouled items) and you can surgically install copies of your powers in your companions.
>>
>>46353699
Oh? Spatterjay? Sounds delightful.

And yeah, a got a lot of biology focus. Also a lot of regen. I think I mostly want to go crab just so I can pull a Piccolo at some point and just grunt real loud before regrowing an entire arm after someone went through a lot of hassle to remove it.

Any tips or plot points I should be aware of?
>>
>>46353699
>Hooper Virus

Explain. Google's giving me nothing.
>>
>>46353760
Alright, thanks anon. Wait, are Worm powers science based? I think they are, since the Entities created them from what I've heard.
>>
>>46353799
They are.
>>
>>46353808
Cool, thanks. My plan progresses further...
>>
>>46353799
>>46353808
Shouldn't you want for worm anon to confirm that?
>>
>>46353765
A couple years after you get there, the Prador are going to attack again. They'll get fought off without too much trouble, just know that it's a possibility. Also, Jay Hoop is still alive and has been mutated by the Hooper Virus into a giant horrible monster. Please kill him, hes pretty terrible.

>>46353785
Spatterjay is home to a symbiotic "virus" (though in practice it acts more like a fungus, equating alien biology to terrestrial is never exact). Getting infected with it makes you immortal. Starts off with just increased toughness, but as it progresses you get more and more durable, stop aging, and gain incredibly strength. However, if you only eat the native food of Spinnerjay, eventually the virus starts taking over, and you mutate into a horrible monster. So long as you eat terrestrial food, the virus won't get out of control and you'll just keep getting stronger and tougher. But if you subsist entirely on Spatterjay food you become something horrible. Twenty feet tall, spindly clawed limbs far stronger than they appear, so many redundant organs that if your head gets cut off you just turn into two separate monsters instead of one (your head grows claws and wings, your body grows a leech-like mouth out of the neck stump, the two can rejoin), and incredibly cruelty. They're called "Skinners" because they like to skin their prey alive. And given that their prey is usually Hooper-enhanced themselves, the prey remains conscious throughout the process.

>>
>>46353909
He doesn't have to. We can confirm it from reading the story. Parahuman powers are technological in origin. Now, you might not be able to copy them during the Worm jump itself, since the symbiote isn't fully integrated into you and so they might not count as your powers for Amazo Backup Memory's concerns. But post jump you gain the powers directly.

Angels are described as beings for whom life processes have stopped, because they don't need to engage in any of the things a normal being does nor do they age. It's also used to describe them because the regular, rank and file angels have no emotions or drive by design, because their Cruxcis Crystals were installed without a Key Crest. This isn't a problem for the higher ups, who all have their own Key Crest and thus have all the advantages with none of the downsides. However, it does mean that it took them many, many years to actually become Angels, whereas becoming one without a Key Crest can occur very quickly. Though they do have the capability to force them to evolve faster, which seems to be by forcing energy into it. It's what happens with Zelos and Collete.

Lloyd is a bit of an exception because of how much adventure and bullshit he went through, thus necessitating him pushing his Cruxcis Crystal far harder than normal and feeding it many monsters.

>>46351924
They're actually just planets, more or less. While they do act like DnD plains in a sense, in the grand cosmology everything, from Daedra plains to the bodies of the Aedra, are depicted as and basically treated like planets, or islands. The realms have concrete locations, for one, and you can move around in Oblivion (which is treated like space) and land on one. It's how daedra invade and attack each other's realms.

>>
>>46354232
Claiming any clarification ends up as "those damn jumpmakers love nerfing us" is going to get hostility, anon. They make our stuff for free, they're taking the time out of their time to cater to a bunch of escapism fans... so that makes it okay to insult them whenever someone wants to ask a question?

Making jumps doesn't make anyone above fault, but you would think we wouldn't treat them like shit every time for their effort.

>>
>>46354299
Nirn is special, mainly. The White-Gold Concordant between Akatosh and the rulers of the Empire (the Septim line) basically lays out that as long as they rule, Akatosh will prevent the Daedra from directly manifesting on Nirn for long without special help. That's why Dagon needs to be summoned and why Azura can only stay long enough to talk to you.
>>
>>46354232
>jumpmaker confirmation's just going to nerf shit

Sounds like hostility to the idea of the jump-maker saying anything about their own jump, anon. We already have problems with one jump-maker going so far back into their shell that you could use their jumps for omnipotence over the stupidest, most eye-squinted detail, and they won't say anything because they're tired of being yelled at. You'd rather others go that route?

>>
>>46354404
They can't. Their realms, once created, can't be actually moved. And there's a sort've... bubble around Nirn and the Aedric planets. Think of it as the sphere that exists around our solar system that protects us from outside space dust. Everything in it is Mundus (the solar system), everything outside of it is Oblivion (deep space), and everything outside of that is Aetherius.
>>
>>46354370
>But on a more serious note, was Murdertale really that bad? I remember there was one thread that got derailed by it, but...
It really wasn't too big a deal. Like you said, it was over fairly quickly.
>>
>>46354232
Has it ever occured to you (or the other moron) that people ask questions BECAUSE they want clarifications and clear limits?

>>46354370
Murdertale wasn't a problem until someone decided to treat it as a serious jump and basically kept going "nu-uh" at everyone's attempts to tell him otherwise, and a few other people joined in. The same person who posts Bill Cipher as their jumper persona-who, really, is the only real lasting fallout of the whole debacle and doesn't even post that often anyway.
>>
>>46354406
>It isn't bad, per se, at least I don't dislike it, but it's only a joke, not a serious jump, and there are people who take jokes very seriously.

>>
>>46354406

Assholes gonna ass Anon, not that we can do but starve them.
>>
>>46354404
Also speaking of Mehrunes Dagon himself? He doesn't actually want to destroy it all. In previous Kalpas, he was a being called the Leaper Demon King, who actually taught lifeforms how to survive Alduin/Aka eating the world by jumping, and who saved bits and pieces of land from and slowly adding more to each kalpa in the hopes of killing Alduin from overeating so the kalpas would stop having to die.

What happened though, is that Alduin/Aka (Aka being the name of all the dragon gods when they were one being) noticed, so he cursed the Leaper Demon King so that he'd be forced to destroy all the land he had saved from previous kalpas, and could not rest until he had done so. So basically Mehrunes Dagon was a good guy who got cursed by an asshole dragon into being a bad guy who can't stop destroying stuff until he's eliminated all the excess land and people he's saved from previous universes.

>>
>>46354635
Pretty much, but it'd be like the Alcor and Abel perks, your role in the STORY is that of the MC, but your background would effect how you got there. Like Programmer and Bel had you work with Naoya, unlike Abel, or Sword of Polaris and Ronaldo has you openly fighting Yamato and JPs unlike Alcor. So it would be like that.
>>46354637
The drawback would be that, yes, with either you fighting him/her or an alternate version of him/her that became the Devourlord. The actual game? This>>46354669, but worse: You eat Gig, and kill everyone else, before finally destroying both worlds, their gods, and yourself. The "good" ending has you imprisoned in the same sword Gig was.
>>46354736
You definitely won't be taking the Demon Route yourself, either way you lose. You eitherlose your body, with your soul trapped for possibly all eternity, or you destroy everything, including yourself, completely. No soul, no afterlife, no nothing. It's actually WORSE than Murdertale in some ways.

That depends on how you feel about Lucifer himself, really. Considering SMT and Persona take place in a multiverse and the crazy shit Lucifer's been up to, he'd probably just roll with it. This is a being who's assumed the form of a little girl, absorbed a dude into his arm and defeated Satan with a hug during his career as the creator of Chaos, after all.

Also as far as I know you can only get one of the personas listed in the jump but I don't know enough about Personas to tell more about how they work and whether you can change/upgrade later on.

Backseat
I Don't Know Nothin' 100
You! Dig! Giant! Robots! 500
Acceptable Damages 900
Homing Beacon 1100
Mind/Machine Interface 1400
Jumpsuit
Nullspace Computer 1450
Endless Cheesy Pickup Lines 1300
Prehistoric Yahoo 1000

Looking at pictures of this setting and I got weird flashbacks. Pretty sure this show was on either before or after something I actually watched.

Also half the images are rule 34 stuff of one of the characters.

Really like this guys jumps. Always some good perks. I like the drawback +50% gimmick as well.

Backseat is a really obvious choice here though. All the perks are good and has the best capstone, dipped into two of the others though so there's some pretty neat stuff there as well.

I Don't Know Nothin' lets you ignore false bits of information when making a plan. Pretty good way of knowing what is true and false, seems like it'd have some pretty OP ramifications. Think I'm going to want to take this jump after LoT so that I don't fuck myself over by coming to rely on it.

You! Dig! Giant! Robots! lets me choose the response to my displays of power and prowess. Mostly the examples include making people jealous, impressed and afraid. Useful anyway but I partly bought it banking on the idea that I could do stuff in a sexy manner. Like you beat someone at ping pong in a big tournament and suddenly you're a sex symbol.

Acceptable Damages is really great. Collateral damage is minimal and aims at the enemy which lets you be as careless and ridiculous as you like.

Mind/Machine Interface lets you understand tech with a touch. Honestly don't know why I haven't seen people talk about it before, may just not have been paying attention but Jesus Christ.

Nullspace Computer lets me summon a computer. Not really vital but could be handy.

Drawbacks mean repulsive people hit on me and I'm always overshadowed by idiots. Neither of those really matter that much. Can always remove the weirdos and I'm not that prideful (or at least not here).
>>
>>46354889
I'm considering World Eater to be the OTHER 800cp perk, which you obviously won't be able to take with the MC option.
>>
>>46354929
Hey, you wanted to be the MC, man. Drop-In is the only background that doesn't add extra to the whole canon role idea.
>>
>>46354929
>fussing over which backgrounds the perks you want are in
>>
>>46354797
Well, you'd need Hidden Depths. Lucifer is a Star Persona, and you can't get the second half of the Arcanas without Hidden Depths. But yeah, he'd probably be fine with it. He'd think it's cool. Personas are symbolic, him seeing that there was some part of your soul that identified with him would encourage him.
>>
>>46354959
>>46354978
Drop-in is just really disgusting. I like having memories and histories in the world I go to.
>>
>>46354993
You will, because of taking the perk. Having a different background just adds its memories and role on top of the memories and role that the "you are the main character" perk gives you.
>>
>>46354993
But that's the thing, Anon, you DO have memories and histories, because you took the canon role perk. Drop-in just gives you the memories and history as it was in canon, whereas other backgrounds change or add to that.
>>
>>46354990
Wait, no, I'm remembering it wrong. Helel (representing him when he still served God) is Star, Lucifer is Judgement. Still would need Hidden Depths, though.

How have you people tormented and otherwise aggravated people in various Jumps because Worm is an opportunity for me to really let loose the inner troll and go full on OVERTROLL on the poor inhabitants, really the setting makes it too easy to just get away with whatever you want if you know what you are doing and set up problems to take care of themselves.
>>
>>46355168
Well, like >>46355180 says, he's a gracious loser. While the things he wants to do with reality are horrific, he's fine with them not happening so long as YHVH's plans don't happen, either. So you can in theory interact with him peacefully and get him to a less evil state. In theory.
>>
>>46355180
That entire section of the multiverse just seens fubar.

>>46355200
Do know a suitable replacement for a justice type persona thats ideal for unbreakable bonds?
>>
>>46355115
>>46355289
>Justice
That's more Law, to be honest. You'd be getting Athena or Sraosha as your Persona.
>>46355234
To be honest, I had a lot of fun in RWBY. You'd be surprised how fun it is to look like an eldrich monster(Due to Webmage's Chaos Power and Gunnerkrigg Court's Child of the Forest) and then just use your powers to fuck with people.
>>
>>46355308
So, wait. What dictates what kind of Persona somebody gets? I thought it was basically "choose your tarot, find a figure that fits that, that's your Persona" but apparently there's more rules to this?
>>
>>46355289
Just choose a non-fallen archangel. Or their equivalent in comparable religions. Sraosha's one of the strongest Justice Personas and he's Zoroastrian.
>>
>>46355350
You're correct. Law and Chaos don't play any real part in the later Persona games and a minor one in the earlier ones, so maybe they're mixing it up with SMT stuff.
>>
>>46355308
"A Justice Persona will take the form of an angel or other veing of order or law, and will have power over light." Id like an angel although a god of law or order does sound intriguing id have to look it up. If i cant get lucifer im thinking that michael is the next bet.
>>
>>46355350
That's right, but there are plenty of canon Personas that we know are specific Arcanas. You could say that you have an alternate-Arcana version of them, it's not unheard of for there to be special cases like that, but it does go against type somewhat.
>>
>>46355388
Micheal is Judgement, just like Lucifer.
>>
>>46355357
Ill have look them up thank you.
>>
>>46355350
No, you can pick the Persona, but in canon the Justice arcana is represented by the divine races, at least in 3 and 4, where as 1 and 2 had Athena as their ultimate Persona.
>>46355369
It's more like the Personas of the Justice arcana are Law demons in SMT, for the most part.
>>46355388
That works, though I think Michael is Judgement.
>>
So now ya'll's got me wondering what's kosher and what's not kosher for the Hermit tarot.

Fuck.
>>
>>46355429
Yeah, but the question was on Persona, not SMT. What's a law demon in the rest of SMT is irrelevant.

>>46355448
Anything that's under Hermit Arcana in the games.
>>
>>46355454
I am aware, but he was asking if Lucifer would count as a member of the Justice arcana, and I was pointing out how that's more the domain of Law demons, where as Lucifer is Chaos. It's thematic.
>>
>>46355448
Hermit Arcana is actually kind of hard to find a common denominator for, honestly. You've got sages, you've got demons associated with learning, and you've also got mythical beasts like Niddhogr or Byakko.
>>
Speaking of Personas and if they fit, would Bel Marduk fit the Emperor arcana? He WAS the King of the Gods in his mythology, and I think the only SMT game with him in it has him as pretty weak. Well, that and DS1, but he was just called Bel there.
>>
So, assuming one follows the template and overall feel is anyone allowed to create a jump?
>>
>>46355558
Yes, anyone can create a jump.

If you feel it'd be worth it is what the real question is.
>>
>>46355413
>>46355429
Oh ok i didnt know thank you both.

Raguel seems to be one of the only angels that i can find that has something to do with order. And i cannot find any other angel dealing with law so i guess ill go for a god.
>>
>>46355551
Yeah, go ahead. That's actually canon. Marduk was an Emperor Arcana in Persona 1 and Persona 2.

>>46355558
Yep. It's open to anyone who wants to contribute.
>>
>>46355625
After looking it up, would it be alright to buff him? I'm aware that Demon/Persona levels can change, but I'd like to know if it's alright to buff him to Ultimate Persona level? With the training and effort to acquire him at that level of power necessary, of course.
>>
>>46355689
I see no problem with that.
>>
>>46355702
So personas can grow stronger as you use them ?
>>
>>46355558
As long as you follow Da Rulez, then go ahead.
>>
>>46355743
Yeah, it's a JRPG. You level them up. Technically your character doesn't even have stats, it's your Persona that has stats and you piggyback off of them. It isn't relevant to most characters, but Wild Cards with their ability to swap Personas can wind up changing their stats mid-battle.
>>
>>46355702
Alright cool, thanks anon.
>>46355743
Well yeah, training and all that, but I sort of meant having him upgraded from one of the starting Personas to the UItimate one, though I'll have to train, grow as a person and get experience in order to unlock him.
>>
>>46355801
Im talking about in jump.
>>
>>46355849
The Persona's ability to grow stronger is an in-character trait, not just a game mechanic. So, yes.

Metal Gear Solid Rising

Denver, Colorado
Drop-In
HF Blade Training 100
Cut At Will 200
CQC 500
Master Swordsman 1100
Colt Single-Action Army 1150
Masterpiece Weapon 1400
Pervert! 1300
Tragic Past 1000

Weird jump this. Peculiar shape to it.

Don't really know Metal Gear stuff at all so just bought some basic shit. Figure I can steal the tech here like I do everywhere else.

HF Blade Training, Cut At Will and Master Swordsman all make me better at fighting with a sword/HF Blade as well as making things fall apart only when I want them to after cutting them up.

CQC is about wrestling cyborgs and nonlethally taking down whatever. Don't even know what this does exactly but it's expensive so can't hurt.

Masterpiece Weapon is supposed to be a HF sword but I'm going for a spear and the wording indicates that'll be allowed. Master Swordsman pretty much just mentions weapons and a specific style so I'm probably going to be going spear there as well.

Pervert! and Tragic Past are a shame but not that dangerous. May just plunge myself into distracting debauchery.

Either way most of what I get out of it is more spear skills, an extra weapon to combine and taking down cyborgs nonlethally or something.

Had Ephraim spinning a spear around from the Sacred Stones while I was doing this build.

Thanks for posting the build - but before you get too attached to it, UCAP is supposed to be 400cp not 300cp before discount.
Sorry about that, typo fixed for the next version.

Do you feel like the stuff is too cheap, too expensive or about right?

>>46354615
The difference is mostly in-setting stuff: Haiman is a blend of human and AI with an obvious cybernetic frame; someone with an Experimental Aug gets along with no AI component at all, and looks like anybody with an Aug.

>>46355558
As long as you're not picking something that already exists (and it's a little rude to pick something somebody is already working on - it's usually best to ask in the thread/IRC if someone is working on a jump you want to make).
>>
Are persona sapient?. If you met the being that your persona is what would happen?
>>
>>46355994
Relax. Yog-Sothoth is a Fortune Demon, not a Fortune Persona. Subtle but important difference. You don't have to worry about Nyarlathotep having access to your soul. Well, having any more access to your soul than he did already.
>>
>>46355308
So i could have Sraosha but wouldn't i need hidden depths? Or would unbreakable bonds be fine.
>>
>>46355994
He's an optional boss in Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. You won't have to worry about him. You CAN acquire the King in Yellow as a Persona, though.
>>46356044
The best comparison is Stands, I think. Some of them are intelligent on their own, others are extensions of your soul, both are undyingly loyal. Also, I'd imagine that most demons would be rather flattered/pleased to find out you reflect them.
>>
>>46356081
No, Hidden Depths unlocks Personas from OTHER arcanas, that you couldn't normally get, like Judgement or Death. If you have Justice, you can easily unlock Sraosha.
>>
>>46356044
Persona are not sapient, though they do have some low level of intelligence. Mostly that just means they're very user-friendly, but if you have an artificially-granted Persona it's possible for them to go rogue and try to kill you. Good thing you've got a Jump-chan granted one, omnipotent fiat should prevent that. As for the beings that lend their form to your Persona, it has some symbolic resonance but isn't a major thing. Other spirits associated with them might be drawn to you, like how Marie (an avatar of Izanami-no-Mikoto) was drawn to Yu due to him having Izanagi as a Persona. But it's not a major thing.

>>46356081
Right. Sraosha is Justice, that's one of the Arcana accessible without Hidden Depths.
>>
What order should I do the Bioshock jumps in?
Chronological, or game order?
>>
>>46356095
>>46356132
Thanks for the answer.
So hes fair game thanks.
>>
>>46356157
There is no chronological order. The games take place in different universes.
>>
>>46356191
Not that anon, but you're thinking of Infinity. Bioshock 1 and 2 take place in the same universe.
>>
>>46356220
Infinite*
>>
>>46356220
Right but Bioshock 1 & 2 are both in the same jump.

So I have been trying to research the powers my jumper should get from taking Inari as their parent and taking glory to me with it. Does this sound about right?

A child of Inari would have exceptional level of shape shifting powers. They would even be able to maintain multiple “true forms”. These true forms may be used when something forces them to shift in to their true form or observes their true form.
Being a mysterious and fluid deity Inari’s child would have a seemingly built in cypher. Their backgrounds and records would seem to get confused with other people when they didn’t wish to be found.
A Child of Inari would be able to craft a jewel out of a piece of their spirit that would let them grant minor wishes to others. If they lose a jewel they made though they will suffer a minor diminishing of their powers.
Being a rice and agriculture deity Inari’s kid would gain control over plants, their growth the same way many nature deities could.
As a god of Industry the child could bless someone with increased financial luck and they themselves would be very lucky in business and learn business skills at a rapid rate.
As a patron of blacksmiths they would gain a minor boost to crafting skills. Items they make would be of a slightly better quality and they would learn new crafting skills quicker.
Being so associated with Kitsunes a child of Inari would gain Kitsune powers, they would be able to take the form of a fox, create illusions, and gain, power wisdom and intelligence as they grow older in the form of increasing number of tails as they grow older. They could also generate a form of fire though it would be relatively minor compared to actual fire deities. They would also be able to speak with and command foxes.
As a food deity the child of Inari would be an incredible cook and brewer particularly of tea and sake. Sake and other Alcoholic beverages created by them would be of higher quality and if they wish potency.
>>
>>46356239
...So they are. Welp, I'm just going to go before I make myself look like more of a goon than I already have.
>>46356254
Uh, you'll have to ask Merchant on this one, but I think someone already asked him about Inari, and I don't think he mentioned most of those powers. Could be remembering wrong.
>>
>>46356254
Pretty sure Inari's already been covered by Merchant, dude

Cont

After I was about a mile away, I felt an explosion going off behind me, and felt like something was puling me backwards. I looked back to see an explosion consuming the castle.

A minute after, I flew back. What I found was total devastation. Fires raged everywhere, the entire front half of the castle had been obliterated, and a huge pit had been carved out of the ground.

Berserker was laying at the bottom of the pit, regenerating. Already he had regained most of his chest and would soon have his arms back. I heard the soft thudding of Archer's footsteps as he walked towards the rim of the crater where I was.

I retrieved one of my projects from a pocket, pressed a button on it, and threw it into the pit, constructing a force-field around it as the object fell onto Berserkers shattered body.
>>
>>46356286
He should really do something like Marvel and put all the rulings in a pdf. Would be hella handy to have that.
>>
>>46356286
>>46356285
Oh... my google skills have failed me then, my apologies. I didn't see he was already covered.
>>
>>46356360
It's fine, man. This anon has a point>>46356340. We really ought to write that stuff down for future reference.
>>
>>46356340
>>46356396
The thing is that people don't HAVE to go by what Merchant says.
>>
>>46356401
...pretty sure we do. He made the jump.
>>
>>46356401
You don't HAVE to get just 1000 CP at the beginning of a Jump
>>
>>46356414
>>46356426
You don't understand. When Merchant talks about what a god gives you, he's talking about what you CAN get. As in, one way to interpret the god's gifts. Demigods are not always going to function the exact same in this series, even from the same parent. Merchant provides you ideas and a suggestion, but you can go another way with it.
>>
Hey Merchant what would you get if you had azhura madra as your father in percy jackson.

th.jpg
8 KB, 300x225
>>46356401
But it makes things easier.
Merchant's putting a lot of effort into making his rulings, and they're pretty fair, considering none the source materials were meant to be used in a CYOA.
>>
Jumpers, what are some of the coolest things you've ever done with your powers that don't involve fighting?
>>
>>46356587
See >>46356540
They're not law like the way Marvel treats combos.
>>
>>46356540
>>46356631
Maybe people want to? I've noticed some folks have trouble designing Stands/Reality Marbles and other DIY powers so it may help to have a prepackaged powerset rather than agonise over whether what's what.
>>
>>46356643
They can, but putting them in some supplement makes them into law, which is missing the point.
>>
>>46356663
Honestly it seems like you're the only person who objects to the idea.
>>
>>46356663
It could be called 'Percy Jackson Divine Parent Suggestions' and start of with a paragraph about how the things listed are just ideas.
>>
>>46356663
Just ask him to write them as suggestions rather than mandaments, sheesh.
>>
>>46356631
Wait-are you saying you want to get rid of the combos supplement? Because I'm pretty sure you'd tick off a bunch of people who rely on it.
>>
>>46356663
Not any of the previous anons, but is it really? I mean, it's his jump and his rulings. If he wants to make it law, if that's his point, then that's what going to happen. I see your point as well, but you have to admit, if he says it's law, there's not much you or I could do, that's his right as a jumpmaker.
>>
>>46356741
No.

>>46356744
Dude, they're not rulings. I already explained to you how Percy Jackson demigods work and the context in which Merchant makes these suggestions. He shouldn't logically make it law nor should it logically be taken as law.
>>
>>46356663
We get enough repeat questions and enough people who can't be arsed to think up power sets on their own that frankly, the supplement would be there mostly (again, labeled as 'Suggestions' to avoid stepping on people's overly-sensitive toes) to give the guy a fucking break.
>>
>>46356775
Again, I can't remember him ever saying "This is what you COULD get", it's always "This is what x gives you." I understand your point about canon, but there is no evidence that he meant it as a suggestion, and even if he DID, it would be valuable to add that to the jump, so we won't have three or four straight threads with questions about the jump, like we did a while ago.
>>
>>46356631
But I'm generally comfortable with the rulings Jumpmakers make, and most of the thread SEEMS to feel the same way.

I also agree with >>46356643
I generally have trouble trying to come up with DIY powers without thinking that I'm overreaching, which leaves me in paradox deadlock.
I personally find supplements like Marvel's extremely helpful.

At the end of the day, no one can tell you what to do, hence my previous pic >>46356587
You can choose to ignore supplements, or the suggestions/rulings of jumpmakers and simply decide for yourself, but I wouldn't expect a positive reaction from the thread if you do.
>>
>>46356858
You mean like we have with the guy incessantly asking about the JoJo Stand Supplement?
>>
>>46356858
The goal in ignoring all those posts saying 'call it suggestions' is tacit approval. That is, I don't have a problem with that.

>>46356888
They're not rulings.
>>
>>46356890
Yeah, like that. Were you there for it? I remember we couldn't go ten posts without someone asking "What would x giv?". And there wasn't anything WRONG with it, or there wouldn't have been, except it was, as I said before, pretty much every ten posts.
>>46356909
I'm not exactly sure about that, but it's your chain man, do what you want.

Sorry, I didn't see the question about buying Prador buddies with The Old Crew.

That seems like an excessive amount of companion CP to be offering for 200cp and smells suspiciously like allowing companions to take a drawback, so I'm afraid I'm going to be a dick and say your Old Crew don't get extra CP for being Prador (and can't take drawbacks). At least they're still Veterans, though.
>>
>>46356663
Not necessarily, if some not that some kids may be a bit different is put in there. Honestly I think even if it is not hard and firm rules, having a supplement with examples would definitely help.
I think certainly gathering everything he has said so far up in to one single source could be helpful for those that want to take the jump. It would save him from having to possibly answer the same question over and over again.
